Had a coupon deal with the hotel I was staying at. The chef was able to make a bunch of dishes without the heavy sauce they typically come with and the food was very good. Seems like every town, even the smallest, has a little chinese place like this one. Nothing amazing, but nothing bad either. Staff was very friendly and the place was clean.

Very disappointing, I had the Seafood Combination Chief Special. The menu said it had shrimp, scallops, crab, and special sauce. Shrimp and scallops were fresh and cooked very well (not over cooked). Order arrived hot with a generous portion. The crab was imitation crab (i.e. Krab or pollock roll). If I'm paying extra for seafood, I expect real seafood or to be told that they use imitation seafood. Shrimp was a decent size U40, and numerous. Scallops were small bay scallops. Plenty of imitation crab. Also, the sauce was the silky kind probably thickened with corn starch or arrow root. Not bad... not special. Vegetables were crisp and fresh. I also ordered the pork fried rice instead of steamed rice ($1.00) extra. Server brought the steamed rice instead, but promptly corrected the error and didn't charge me the extra amount. Portion was very small, came in same bowl size that the soup came in. Had to really hunt for the pork. It was there, but very small pieces and sparse. Order came with soup. I had the hot and sour soup. Very good. The servers were very friendly and worked hard, probably college age. Others just stood around, but it was 3:00 p.m. and business was slow. I was just passing through Pocatello and this was close to I-15. I would probably go again and try something else. Overall I have a low expectation of Chinese restaurants when traveling and this seamed to be at the average level. Disappointing for a college town, better than average for the Idaho/Montana area. I would have given them a score of 3 if they would have told me they used imitation crab or a 4 if the crab was real.

Having tried numerous Chinese restaurants in town, I was disappointed by the misuse of breading and the lack of taste. Change Garden lunch special was fantastic. Extremely simple. I ordered the Mandarin chicken. This was the best Mandarin chicken in town! The dish also came with a hot and sour soup that had a great taste. Chang's Garden will definitely see more of my business!

Very good food. Excellent Hot and Sour soup, though a bit unusual recipe. Kung Poa Chicken was very good as was the shrimp and mixed veg. With 2 beers, $40 all in and that also included special fried rice and steamed rice. Service was also very good, nice young fellow who was a student at the local university. Would definitely go back.

Best restaurant in town by far. Excellent customer service and awesome food. The lemon chicken is one of the best I have had and the sweet and sour pork is great too.

Came in here today for lunch and had a great time. Our server Eric took great care of us. The coffee here is amazing. Not to mention the calimari rings were fried to perfection! The food was fast and excellent. Literally the best food I've had out here. Will be returning.

We travel for work and I always keep an eye out for good Chinese food. This place checked all the boxes. great service, great food and very clean(even the windows). I ordered C13 -Wor Bar. The scallops and shrimp was prepared just right and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. The soup was a little drab but my husband's C11- general Taos chicken was great. Will keep this one in my do again file.

Ok. I'm from Hawaii, the true melting pot of ethnic foods. And I give this place 5 stars. If your not sure what you want or what something is ask and they'll explain. Very tasty. Love this place. Will be back during my short visit!!!!

We went to Chang's based on six previous Yelp reviews. Sadly, our experience did not match the high ratings left by other diners. The soup was pretty good, but, the jasmine tea had no flavor and was of a poor quality. The Vietnamese egg rolls were very greasy, fried in what tasted to be old oil and were full of what tasted like hamburger. The Thai Curried Beef had no curry flavor (neither Thai nor Indian) and the beef seemed to be boiled pot roast. I ordered the lo mein noodles to accompany this and they were dried out and not fresh. The only thing we ordered that I could call tasty was a sizzling seafood platter, the name of which I can't recall. It had some tasty scallops, shrimp and vegetables but also included chunks of Krab simulated meat and was not hot on top. Our waiter was friendly at first, but, with only three tables to cover, he gave poor service, never asking how our food tasted. As we left we were asked how the food was and we said we hadn't liked the curry. The young man at the front said "if is traditional and we have been making it like that for forty years". Having eaten at Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese places around the world, I can say it was neither traditional nor authentic. I suggest finding another place to eat when you visit or pass through Pocatello.

Chang's garden is by far the best chinese restaurant in Pocatello. First, they are the only chinese restaurant that delivers so that's a huge plus. Having just eaten in-house for the first time recently, I was even more impressed. The food is excellent. I highly recommend the house wings (boneless). They are typical chicken wings but the seasoning and sauce is great. I usually get the lo-mein but when we ate in, I had the cambodian ginger chicken. Amazing. The crispy bits of ginger smothering the chicken in a sauce with onions was delicious. They should make this a permanent addition to their menu. My wife always gets the kung pao chicken which is her favorite. She won't get anything else because she loves that dish so much. I definitely recommend Chang's to anyone looking for good chinese in Pocatello.

Food was very bland. Service was slow. We watched one table get up and leave after a very long wait. Not worth it.

Let me start by saying that I love Chinese food. I had the Singapore noodles and the hot & sour soup, neither disappointed! The noodles are to die for! They where seasoned perfectly and it had plenty of meat to satisfy anyone. The service was excellent. They seemed to have a ton of to go orders and delivery, we ate in. If you are in town looking for some good grub, stop by and don't be afraid to order, you won't be disappointed.

Good Stuff, I had the S'pore noodles, and s/s soup. Both did the trick, good and spicy, good use of curry, nice touch w/shrimp in noodles. Great customer service, Happy to see you guys use cartons for take away,

Awesome place to eat. The family is great and very polite and helpful. The general Taos chicken in red sauce is the best. In fact anything smothered in that red sauce is amazing. Great place for lunch.

Decent food and friendly, but do your customers a favor and train your wait staff. Our waiter was new, but had no idea what he was doing. Beer should be served without the lid on the bottle and with a glass. Appetizers should be served with appetizer plates. Proper training, people!

Best Chinese in poky! I always get the honey walnut shrimp, hot and sour soup, Vietnamese rolls!

My favorite place to eat! The food is great and the service is the best. The green beans in black bean sauce dish is wonderful. The cooks are very accommodating and will make dishes as spicy or mild as you'd like. You can have dishes made without MSG, but as other reviewers have pointed out, it takes away some of the unique flavor. I haven't had a bad meal yet and I always feel like I'm visiting a friend's home when I eat here.

I like Chang's a lot, but I understand Dan's comment about it being "a tad bland." They don't use MSG, which is a significant component of the typical Chinese flavor profile. Some folks find it to induce headaches, so they steer away from it. Personally, I find that the flavors at Chang's are more like I would make at home. I also like that they offer plenty of truly healthy dishes, most consisting of steamed veggies with a meat option and garlicky sauce. Chang's is not a typical Chinese joint, but some will find it just what they are looking for. Also, the take-out is fast and the waiter service excellent.
