I live in Moscow for several years and had lunch here at least twice a week. During a vacation visit my wife and I once again visited this place that we had always enjoyed in the past. We were welcomed as honorees guests and experienced the same quality of food we had hoped we might still

My favorite Chinese resurant in town. We are always happy with our entrees and the owners are such lovely people.

Great service, awesome food! For a town like Moscow where service can be sketchy and the food leaves a lot to be desired, Old Peking is exceptional! The garlic chicken is amazing and the crab rangoon is the best I have ever had.

Nope. I feel bad about this, because numerous locals whose taste I usually trust have told me they love the Old Peking, and that the owners are lovely people, but this was just no. On the recommendation of others I ordered the almond chicken/chow mein lunch combo. Not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't a pile of little deep-fried chunks of chicken drowning in what appeared to be straight-up white gravy, with a few almond pieces on top. Meanwhile the noodles in the chow mein were also fried, which is something I've never seen before, and was not good at all. The spring roll and hot and sour soup were both pretty good, but come on - gravy? The restaurant was also super messy - despite there only being two other tables of guests, there were uncleared dishes on multiple tables for the entire half hour we were there, and what I could see of back-of-house was messy too. All in all, I lived in Moscow for 8 years before eating here, and it'll be 8 years before I go back. Go to Chang Sing instead.

By far the best Chinese place in Moscow. They have great combination plates for low prices. The service is always great as well. The almond chicken is the best in town as well.

I love pho? and it is hard to get good pho? in Pullman/Moscow area. I came into the restaurant and it was late and I was the only one in there, I thought they may have been closed and forgot to lock the door. I had pho? ga it was good, some added veggies but it was still good. The staff was extremely nice. I will go back for sure.

I went to the local Asian store and noticed they had a flier for Pho in their window and realized it was for Old Peking. Being a pho-natic, I had to try it. I must say, it is the best Pho in Moscow/Pullman as it is as close to authentic as I have found in the area. I haven't tried the Chinese food yet, but I would strongly recommend Old Peking for their Pho!

The pho is legit! Very authentic for the #2 rare beef! I will be going back for this. Not sure about the Chinese food though will have to give it a try the next time. Had a Chinesey atmosphere but was clean and welcoming.

Some friends and I were wanting Chinese food on a recent Friday night. Against our better judgment, we decided to try Old Peking instead of our beloved Chang Sings. Bad move. The soup (I think it was supposed to be egg drop?) was just a muddle of peas and carrots in some weird, thick broth. I had the sesame chicken, which was mediocre at best. Not like any other sesame chicken I've had before. The fried rice was really bad. My friend got the almond chicken which was again, like no other almond chicken I've ever seen. It had a weird, beige gravy on it. None of us finished our food, which is really saying something seeing as how I NEVER leave food behind, and my dining companions were both hungry men. I've learned my lesson--always stick to Li's Garden or Chang Sing's when looking for some Chinese food in Moscow.

Delicious. Almond Chicken was especially good. I don't understand the poor reviews for this restaurant! I recommend.

The food is really good, and the service is quick and attentive. The portions are large enough to take home leftovers, unless you are really hungry or split dishes. The prices seem quite reasonable. I haven't tried other Chinese restaurants in Moscow, but this one seems as good as the ones I have tried in Pullman.

Love this place, along with the Chang Sing. Great almond chicken, very fast and friendly service. I suspect other negative reviews might be from a period when the owner / operators went through a house fire. Try this place out!

Worst. Meal. Ever. I stopped here for lunch while visiting the area for the weekend. I had eaten here before... when I was in college 18 years ago. I don't remember it being this bad, but then again... I was a poor starving college student. Oh my god. The earlier review from Robert S. is right on. I ordered the lunch special which included egg drop soup, cashew chicken and chow mein. Oh, and some fried thing with the watery red sauce. I could've sworn the menu also said that the lunch special came with fried rice, but the waitress said it didn't. Whatever. The meal was truly inedible. Absolutely disgusting. I could have gotten a better meal if I had gone to Safeway and gotten food from under the heat lamps "China Express" and a can of LaChoy chow mein noodles and vegetables. The egg drop soup was, as a previous reviewer noted, made with frozen/canned cubed carrots and peas. Nevertheless, I ate it. I was absolutely starving and only had a short window to grab some lunch. Now the main course. Oh man, where do I start? Um... they call that chicken? It was some sort of cross between chicken fat and meat. Leaning more towards fat. It was white, had a strange spongy consistency, and no flavor. Really didn't resemble chicken in any way, shape or form. The chow mein honestly probably came from a can. But not LaChoy, because a can of LaChoy would have been better. It was indescribable. The only part of the meal that was remotely edible were the cashews. I ate maybe a few bites of the meal. Needless to say, a doggie bag was not necessary. I would not even have fed this slop to my dogs. This meal was truly deserving of a "dine & dash", but instead I reluctantly paid the $7 for it.

This was the most disgusting food I have ever [reluctantly] paid for. My wife and I were visiting Moscow on business in November and stopped by for some late-night Chinese. We didn't expect much from a restaurant located in the middle of nowhere, but the food quality at Old Peking was exceptionally awful. To begin with, the "Egg Drop Soup" tasted exactly like alphabet soup. There was scant little egg, only canned, square-cut carrots and old, blueish-gray [what I assumed to be] peas. It was disgusting. We set the soup aside hoping the entree would recompense our foul experience with the appetizer. The main entree was indeed a shock. I ordered a sweet-and-sour chicken with fried rice and my wife ordered a chicken-with-peppers entree of some sort. At first appearance the food looked safe enough to eat. I tried the heavily-breaded chicken to find that each piece consisted of about 90% fat/cartilage/chicken by-product, and 10% meat. Undaunted in my quest to find something edible on my plate, I cut the breading away from each peace to find a similar composition throughout. When all was said and done, I had a huge pile of chicken breading covered in a thick, orange paste on my plate, and an empty stomach. When I ordered sweet-and-sour chicken, I assumed the main ingredient was chicken, not fat and deep-fried batter. My wife's chicken was identical. The rice was bland and tossed with the same assortment of canned carrots and blueish-gray peas found in the soup. I could go on, but I think it suffices to say that Old Peking serves the worst Chinese food I have ever encountered, and I've had a lot of bad Chinese.

This really wasn't very good food. The service was below average. Go over to the Emerald in Pullman for fantastic Chinese food.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
