The Moscow food Co-op is a wonderful place as far as organic food is concerned. Most items are pricey, however they are of good quality and they offer lots of food varieties. They have xylitol in bulk for a good price ranging around 7 dollars a pound. One of their best deals I've seen would be their organic apple cider vinegar at about 18 dollars a gallon. They make wonderful fresh food items such quinoa salad or mango chicken salad. I even learned to make both of these salads based on the ingredients label and they are both delicious. They have brown eggs and good meat. Their bulk foods area is loaded with variety. One of my favorites they carry is a gallon jar of Bragg's liquid aminos. All their fruits and vegetables are organic and not genetically modified or covered in pesticides. To sum it up the Moscow food Co-op is a great place to shop however you need some extra money to be able to go there often.

My favorite place on Earth. I completely wish I was being hyperbolic but whatevs. I love their grocery selection, their knick-knack/beauty selection, and most of all, their deli. Mmmmm. Their salad bar is supah tasty too. And every one who works there is supah nice. Live, laugh, CO-OP baby (or maybe don't. That was silly.). Highly recommend, five stars, ALL CAPS, exclamation points (!!!!), THE END.

As a regular of the coop for their cafeteria and deli, they offer awesome food! Some of the best is biscuits and gravy on Thursdays and Sundays, as well as their breakfast pizza, or their pulled pork sandwiches. Their breakfast casseroles are good, and their dinners vary and are always good. Oh! Burger night on Thursday is awesome too. Highly recommend them as they also serve some good drinks at the expresso bar as well. Service is always there and friendly.

There is so much to love about this place...just go, look, shop and then you will know. One of my fav places in Moscow.

This is an excellent little co-op, a great eco-friendly, organic, health-foods store. Everything is fairly expensive but you just can't rival some items, especially their garlic hummus. Plenty of selection, from wines to fresh fruit to probiotics to jewelry to bits 'n' bobs. Their chocolate aisle is the best, with high-quality chocolate bars for a reasonable price. The employees are super friendly, and there is just an aura of healthiness, joy, and positivity in the store. I really enjoy shopping at this co-op!

This place is great! I felt like a kid in a candy store! A lot of local ingredients and you can find just about anything. A lot of organic foods with the prices to match. They have a salad bar, coffee shop, and deli area if you want to grab a bite to eat.I'm sure I'll be in here quite a bit.

This place kind of reminds me of a mini Whole Foods. It's small but there is a decent selection of produce, fresh food (salad bar, ready-to-eat foods, frozen foods, etc.), non-perishable foods, medicines, cosmetics, cookware, stationary, jewelry, pet items, and more! Almost everything is centered on being organic, handmade, locally-sourced, and/or eco-friendly. I got some goat cheese last time, which was so flavorful and had excellent texture...so much better than what I was buying from the chain grocery stores. Speaking of cheese, they have a small freezer of specialty cheeses. They're pretty small blocks and medallions though. They also sell cheese from the WSU Creamery! Go Cougs! I also got some strawberries, which were so fresh and fragrant. I could smell them from a few feet away, which I've never experienced at grocery stores before. The tabbouleh could be more flavorful but it's decent. I tried some cupcakes which could've been more moist. The jewelry selection is so cute and it's always great to buy locally made and/or handmade items. You'll definitely find something unique! Overall, even though it's a bit more pricey than chain stores (reasonably so), I love the Co-op because 1. you can find specialty items/ingredients that may be difficult to find elsewhere, 2. there are so many unique things and it's just very stimulating and exciting...I'd browse for hours if I could, and 3. you can feel good knowing that you're supporting local farmers/artists/etc. and the community! I haven't tried any items from the cafeteria or deli yet but will update if/when I do.

Whenever I go in to Co-Op, I feel like I get some kind of energy refresher. The ambiance inside this store is so good and positive. It radiates from within and it definitely starts with the employees who work there. Seems like the employees often have a good day and it definitely shows when I interact with the workers in this Co-Op. I have a few favorite areas in the Co-Op, first, the deli and coffee area. I tried the Mocha Latte not long ago and it tasted delicious and the price is affordable. Additionally, I am a sucker for Macaroni and Cheese and their gluten-free Mac and Cheese is definitely worth a try. It taste healthy, cheesy, creamy and oh so good!! This is a good excuse for a cheat meal and still a healthy choice... wink, wink!! They also have a large sitting area next to the Salad Bar, which is also worth trying. If you have not tried their sausage, actually made in the Co-Op meat department, I highly recommend this too. Taste very clean, and healthy, nutrient-dense meat, compared to the processed sausage in most grocery stores. Their bulk section is also good. A bit pricey, but for a few items are worth buying like the coconut, doesn't have added sweeteners. Another favorite of mine is the gift/cosmetic/kitchen/book area. I appreciate that Co-Op support Fair Trade and when I can afford the item, I make my purchase not only because of the quality of the product as well as to support the cause. I know where my money is going at least. I wish someday to make a lot more money so I can shop here for most of my food and other needs.

The Co-Op is one of my favorite places to grab breakfast and lunch. Their daily quiche is always a great thing to grab on my way to work, along with a protein smoothie with real fruit. I also love their sandwiches and salad bar. The salted french bread is delicious and great with any type of sandwich. The salad bar is huge, and has SO many options. You could eat a different type of salad each day for a week. The reason I've held back one star is because I used to be totally addicted to their incredible raspberry vinaigrette dressing on the salad bar. My mom and I would eat about 4 salads each a week because we loved it so much. Unfortunately they got rid of it... and only bring it back occasionally for special weeks. I would buy it in bulk if I could. I'm also not a huge fan of their lattes, but like I said before they make great smoothies. Everything in the deli is made from scratch and that's exactly how it tastes. You can tell they didn't just warm it up in a microwave after cutting open a frozen package. It may be a little expensive in comparison to those frozen/warmed up places... but knowing where your food comes from, buying local, and eating healthy are all worth the price!

I cannot find a single thing wrong to say about this place. If they don't have it they'll help you find it if not order it for you. They have a great selection of health foods you wouldn't believe. They also have a premade food section and a salad bar. They have organic cosmetics. They have the best selection of fiber supplements and probiotics. They also have one of the largest sections I've seen of gluten free products. They also sell raw milk, cow and goat. Highly recommended.
(5)Kristie M.
Love going in for a quick lunch or to just shop. I have found quite a few unique gifts for my friends and family here.
(5)Devin M.
Love everything about here. So organic and fresh for a great price. The deli is amazing and so is the bakery. I'm ok paying a little more for good healthy food.
(5)Terry G.
Nice selection of local, organic, and delicious foods. But everything is WAY WAY WAY overpriced. The tea I get here (not carried anywhere else in Moscow) I was buying for $7/box when I realized that Amazon has it for $2/box. A lot of times I just browse the CoOp to find good local food and items. Then I hit up Farmers Market to buy the same stuff for 2/3 of the price. Almost all of the staff are super snobby and act better than you. It's gotten better over the years but still super annoying.

Moscow Food Co-Op reminded me of a mini version of PCC. It has a lot of fresh and organic produce along with a nice selection of local beer/wine and deli/bakery. Although the selection was relatively small, I was impressed how the deli/bakery cater to vegetarian/gluten-free. I especially liked their BBQed tofu and vegetarian jambalaya. I am happy to see a small-town grocery store filled with dedicated and friendly workers and awesome food!

The Moscow Co-Op serves quite a diverse population here in Moscow... from the hippies to the business people to college students this friendly food cooperative welcomes those from all walks of life. It's a great feeling to be able to walk into a grocery store and know that the products that you are buying are much more scrutinized and vetted than the typical supermarket... you can feel great knowing that your money is going to something more sustainable while remaining much healthier and within a budget. Besides all of the warm-and-fuzzies you may get shopping the pricing is also very reasonable, just about 10% higher than other stores with comparable non-organic/natural/cruelty free products. Another excellent feature of this cooperative is the fresh-food area... sure the sandwiches may take a little longer than you would like to typically wait for something, but the end product is much better than going to McDonalds or eating at a campus cafeteria. There is a fresh salad bar with tons of choices, cofee, pastries, and more. The Co-Op is an excellent choice if you are looking to grab a quick bite or do some serious food shopping, and I highly recommend it!

The Moscow Food Co-op is probably the best place in Moscow to discover the Moscow community by not only the food selection, but also from the environment. The food selection has quite a few local and/or organic products. The Co-op also specializes in gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free products as well. Most brands that you would find in Whole Foods stores you can find at the Moscow Food Co-op. The Co-op also contains a wide variety of wines and beers that are made locally. My favorite part is that you can buy one bottle of beer at a time, which gives you the option to try several different breweries then a six pack of the same beer. Besides a grocery store the Moscow Co-op also has a expresso, bakery, deli, salad bar, and hot/cold bar. For lunch I always find the salad bar as a great option and the BBQ tofu with the olive selection provides a filling lunch. Although make sure to go light on the heavier salad options as the price of a salad can add up fast. For the bakery I recommend the Gluten-free Black and Gold cookies. They are a great chocolate treat and are freshly made! The Co-op even has a $10 a year membership for customers, which allows customers to save on items every week as well as getting a coupon book in the mail. You can find their monthly food specials on their website as well as 30% orange tags on different food items around the store. Lastly the environment and customer service of the Co-op is not only vibrant, but what really makes the Co-op what it is as a community center! The cashiers and workers always have a smile on their faces and are willing to answer questions about local foods. Although the Co-op can be expensive at times, the coupon book and monthly savings can help a family buy locally and support the Moscow and/or surrounding areas.

Outstanding produce, bulk, sausages (!!!!), and the restaurant is excellent. A Moscow staple.

I LOVE the Moscow Food Coop! I've been to my fair share of coops throughout the west, and this one is one of the best. The deli does not disappoint (sausage pockets and kale slaw--drool!) and the selection of produce, groceries, bulk items and everything else is excellent. I also think their prices are extremely good, especially compared to Seattle and Portland. No trip to Moscow is complete without a stop here.
(5)Anna A.
Wow. I think I'm in love. You Moscow folk are lucky to have such a cool place to shop / dine / lounge / exchange / recycle / refill. Coming from LA, the prices are very good. Of course, you could shop at Winco, but that would defeat the purpose. I found a large selection of local goodies to smuggle back to Cali with me: bulk dried red lentil beans, white cheddar from miscellaneous Idaho creamery, huckleberry beer and gluten free lemon poppy seed muffins. The kale salad from the deli is *amazing*! And OMG 99 cents for a kick ass americano (that I supped up with soy and cardamom from their extensive coffee bar accessories spread). My bro just became a member of the Co-Op and get this, annual membership is $10! Hugs and Kisses to you, Moscow Co-Op!
(5)Rose B.
They actually have a nice selection of food to choose from in the deli area, depending on the time you come in. They serve breakfast and lunch food, which is made with wholesome ingredients being that it is an organic food store. Plenty of seating and just clean up when your done. The shopping is a bit more expensive due to, again, the organic selection. But a lot of it is really tasty such as the greek yogurt or the variety of cheese. Also the wine selection is great. We buy a few things rather than load up a shopping cart. Or else we would be broke.
(4)Tiffany N.
I have been very hesitant to review the Co-op. I really like that we can swing in and get fresh organic foccacio bread and baguettes. I like that they sell local cheeses and organic coffee beans. I really like their local honey and the beans and grains in the bulk section of the store. Pretty much the entire store is organic and they really try to focus on their local regional products. Oh, they also have a really great microbrew selection but none of it is ever on special. Now here is why I was hesitant. Their deli is ridiculously overprices. Their cupcakes are a foodies nightmare. They are gluten free I think and bland as all get out. Don't be fooled by that cute pink frosting! Their meat selection is crazy expensive even for local cuts. You money will stretch a lot further at the U of I butcher shop on campus. They can have some amazing grocery, veggie and produce deals but they are not routine. I can't handle paying so much for a bunch of green onions. I don't care where they are grown or how green the dirt is. If they are 1.99 a bunch, they are just too much. I just paid 5.99 for a 3 lb bag of organic red potatoes. At Winco you can get a 10 lb bag for like 2 dollars. Who can afford to shop the bulk of their groceries at the Co-op? Not me, but I'm trying to get on board with the shop local, eat organic movement! After saying all those terrible things, I love that the Co-op is so involved with the community. They support many local events and should be praised for that. They host many parking lot events and even have a "fish truck" once a week with fresh/frozen fish, crab, oysters, clams, etc... We have enjoyed the in house music performances and am looking forward to the Foods of the Palouse event.

I love shopping here. I love the sausage lunch pockets. I love the meat and the vegetables and the layout of the store. everyone is really friendly and they have a great beer selection. Over Win-Co or Roseaurs (spelling?) or Safeway, I choose the Co-Op!
(5)Delsy O.
I have fallen in love with this place and am saddened to know that this place will only be a memory. I could spend all day here shopping and eating. This Co-Op has THE best roasted red pepper hummus. I had to pair this marvelous dip with a pillowy naan bread I bought from there, and it was gone within minutes (more like an hour but it was fast!). Everything here is fresh, organic, local, healthy, hippie, all things that are good. I thought I would never be jealous of Idaho (I'm from California), but this place is one thing I REALLY WISH WE HAD.
(5)Heather N.
I really like going to the co-op. You can find a lot of things here that regular grocery stores just don't carry, and it can be fun just to wander around browsing the selection. I don't do the majority of my shopping here because of the prices, but I don't hold that against them. If you can afford to buy everything here, I would definitely recommend that you do. I'd also recommend their deli. I especially love the southwest turkey sandwiches and quesadillas. Again, the prices seem a little high but the food is definitely worth it.
(5)Andrea H.
I like this place a lot. They have great organic foods, and a good selection. It is a good place for people with food allergies, for example they have lots of gluten free stuff. They have good coffee and pasties, and a nice place to sit and enjoy them. They also have some non-food products, like clothing made with organic materials. I highly recommend their organic cotton socks. There is often a truck outside that sells fresh fish. It is expensive, but very good. The tuna I got there was some of the best I've had. My only problem with it is I can't see why people are obsessed with their cheese. The outside of their cheeses often taste like soap, even the goat cheese. This means that the first bite you take of any of their cheeses will probably not be any good. The mozzarella I got tasted like Polly-O, and cost much more.

We had heard good things about this co-op, but I was not prepared for the marvelous gem that this co-op proved to be! We arrived a little after 5 pm on Thursday right as things were getting hot for the Thursday happy hour from 5 - 7 including a live jazz band, discounts, and tempting samples at every corner. We were in co-op heaven. We picked up plenty of goodies including a Peasant Loaf, 2 bags of Almond-Raspberry Thumprint cookies (which are vegan and out of this world delicious!), chunky homestyle roasted garlic hummus, 2.5 pounds of local honey (for mead), crunchy apples, great Ethiopian drip coffee, and super inexpensive bulk almond butter. The deli/bakery really makes this co-op what it is. There is an enormous dining area and the shop was plenty popular with locals and college students alike. There is a complete salad bar, hearty soups made with lots of love and care (and garlic), fresh baked goods, and fresh hot food that is updated meal to meal. I can't say enough goods things about the Moscow Food Co-op. Their old manager is now our manager in Port Townsend and I have high hopes that she will help our co-op evolve!
(5)Julie M.
I agree with Yelper Veronica C. only change "San Francisco" to "San Jose". When I moved to Pullman from San Jose, I was saddened that the nearest Whole Foods or Trader Joe's were on the other side of the state. But I was heartened to learn that the Co-Op, 8 miles from me, was like all the best of a WF or TJ distilled into a smaller space with better prices. I love the Co-Op. Everything I typically purchased at the aforementioned stores I can purchase at the Co-Op, and all the local stuff is clearly labeled. People are friendly, baked goods are top-notch (I'm just a little bit in love with the salty french bread), and selection is just right. I'm a big fan.
(5)Ange D.
Wow. The Co-op has grown up since I was in college. I love that it has so many options, but still have the nice homey feel it did when it was a tiny little store. The staff is still top notch. I visit every time I am in the area.
(5)Jessica M.
So I may have been a little hasty initially in my judgement of the prices. After further research I found that a few of the items I regularly purchase were actually cheaper at the Coop than what I was paying online. However, the selection is still not very good. Trying to carry a lot of brands in such a limited space means you end up with only a handful of products from each brand and, at least for me, the specific products they choose to carry are not the ones I use. Also I cannot stand that they change the layout of the store every other day. I swear I have never found the same product in the same place more than twice. So frustrating!
(3)Erika M.
Cannot say enough about this place! Absolutely amazing selection of organic food and pre-made food! I love their books/gifts section also, and great cards/beauty products. Their pre-made food and deli section is also great and I love how you can fill up on your own un-packaged grains, rices, etc. This place was my refuge when I lived in Lewiston, I'd go to yoga and then hit up the co-op for groceries. In fact I wish they one in San Francisco just like it - I was missing it the other day!
(5)Tricia S.
The foods items offered here were excellent. Co-ops always are a bit pricey, but is wasn't out of the norm. Friendly vibe. I really enjoyed some of the non-food items....particularly gifts, lotions, and oils! I'll be sure to stop in anytime I'm nearby!
(4)Clinton H.
Being a hippy has gone mainstream in this wonderfully, large supermarket devoted to natural and organic products. The Co-Op is great for many different reasons. It gives local producers a place to sell their wares. It has several products that you just can't find anywhere else around here, except at farmer's markets. Not only are the staff friendly, but so are the patrons. You always see a ton of bikes out front. The eating area is quite nice, and you can stay for as long as you like. The deli is one of the best that I've seen around. While I'm going on and on about what's essentially a grocery store, the bottom line is that it's a grocery store that's done it right.
(5)Bad Ass Chic K.
coming from san francisco i have to say, i'm impressed! here in sf we have anything ever created thats made of anything natural, organic or green--being the mecca market of such items here. the moscow food co-op had tons of stuff. good food selection, au naturale personal care products (which rocked my world since i left a couple of things at home and didn't want to buy the carcinogenic stuff at the drugstore) yummy prepared foods, dee-lish incense from all over the world, you name it! even the staff was friendly. -extra props for the challah bread made on premises, coffee, and the world class cheese selection. -super extra props to the guy who was re-stocking the 'earth science' shelf and was more then willing to special order me a case of face scrub. if i would have been in moscow long enough to get the delivery i would have taken him up on it :] *go to the co-op + buy lots of stuff + support the place = feel good!
(5)Susie I.
Wonderful selection of Co-Op-type foods and goods. The deli has a bunch of mouth-watering sandwiches and a comfortable eating area out of the way of the shoppers. My only qualm was that they didn't accept my Bellingham membership card.
(5)Bryan K.
Strange cashier, but despite him, this place is great. Great Co-Op, even better Pesto Rolls.
(5)Brian L.
I love this place. Truthfully, the only spot in Moscow that helped keep my sanity during the school year. You see, Moscow kinda sucks. it's flat farm land, with not a whole lot to do but drink and study and go to your classes. But, in the meantime, I was eating breakfast at the co-op at least once a week as a part of my ritual, and man, they have a great deli. Their Broccoli cheddar quiche is beyond delicious among many other things (tofu scramble pocket is huge and only 2.50). Also, aside from Rosauers, It's really the only place in town with a good selection of herbal medicine, natural health care products, and Homeopathic medicines. Fair prices, friendly enough employees, GREAT SMELLING, and chill atmosphere. It's a fond memory, and a must visit when I'm in Moscow seeing friends!
(5)prince j.
A real co-op, built from the ground up with compassion and heroic vision. It's at the heart of Moscow's values and culture.
