Five years ago this place was my first introduction to Sushi ever. I loved it so much and regretted not ever trying it while I lived in New York (or any other state that I lived in throughout my life). Fresh, variety, quality, great portions. Because of Sakana's quality & standard it has been hard to match or exceed since we moved to California. Nothing even comes close! It was refreshing revisiting my first Sushi love last month. Just for the record, I did finally find my "California Sakana", it's called Yanagi and it's in the Pismo Beach area. Thanks Sakana for all that you are!

It takes a definitely bad experience for me to rate any business, restaurant, or product as a 1-star experience. However, in this case, I must do so. I picked up an order to go to take to a friend who had just had surgery. The information we were given when placing the order was incorrect regarding the ingredients in the rolls. Once I got to her house and we discovered the problem (raw fish on all rolls, when cooked was specifically requested on one of them). I phoned the restaurant. After being told to call back a few times until the owner arrived, the final decision was that there would be no refund, no credit on next meal, and nothing could be done unless we drove back and returned all the food; then the order could be refunded.

Sakana is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in Boise/Meridian area. The restaurant is clean, friendly staffs (Mr Agam is the best), the food is delicious and good portion. Age tofu is my favorite appetizers besides squid salad. The sushi rolls are big and yummy. We tried the hibachi twice and it was OK. I prefer sushi than hibachi in general anyway. The bento box for kids is really big. It is more than enough even for me. I am a petite around 130lbs. The bento box has rice, your choice of chicken/beef, then edamame, california rolls, and some tempura! Now I am hungry just by picturing it. To top it off, mochi ice cream with different flavors; taro, strawberry, orange....all yummy!

Ok the food is good not great, the service is just terrible! I mean really the worst of the worst. The waitress was busy chatting it up w her friends at another table. I was actually waving my arms at another waitress and she turned around and walked away! Did she think I was doing the lone wave? if you can't even get someone to bring the steamed rice you ordered maybe that is their way of saying you should have ordered the fried rice and paid the extra. You would think it was something amazing to be there by the way they act....Nope, go some where else. The only saving grace for this place is that the cook was very good at the hibachi and very entertaining and friendly!

We've been bowled over by the very friendly service and unbeatable value with the dollar sushi deal on Mondays (and today the sign says Tuesdays, too). We've been so often since my May 2011 review that the servers know us and know exactly what we typically order. This special is available ALL DAY Monday and Tuesday. Our two favorite items on the dollar sushi deal are the Hana and the Tiger. They are like $12 and $13 on the regular menu... but a whole 10-piece roll costs only five bucks on dollar sushi days. Total bargain! If you don't know what you want off the bat, or if you want some variety, ask to see "the cart". It has all the dollar deal items on it, and you can get as many or as few as you like. The restaurant also has three large teppanyaki tables and three special Japanese-style rooms where you sit on a cushion. Very cool! I'm a big soda drinker, and my soda is always kept full. Restrooms are very clean and generously-sized.

Great sushi, very fresh and delicious! Service was very good also. Our server was fast, friendly and very considerate of our needs! My favorite sushi place!!
(5)Ray H.
Yum! The best sushi in the Treasure Valley. Tony and the crew at Sakana are fantastic. Tony is more than happy to create a unique roll for you if you want something other than what's on the menu. I also look forward to Thursdays when they have their Uni flown in fresh. They also just added Kirin on tap. I recommend the Sushi Lover and the Ika Salad appetizer...for starters.

This review is for the Sushi bar only. The location is great. Parking is easy. Build out is nice. Comfortable setting. TV playing ESPN in the corner is easy to see from the sushi bar. Staff is very friendly. They kept the drinks coming, had warm personalities, and said hi and hello often to those patrons entering the restaurant. Food is very good. Added photos. Great presentation! We had the Mamasan roll, the Evergreen roll (which is HUGE), as well as the Chicken Teriyaki, the Lobster & Steak platter, and the dumpling soup. Most of our dishes came with salad and miso soup. I strongly recommend the Mamasan roll. It was delicious! 5 stars. The lobster itself was very good as was the miso soup and the salad. 4.5 stars for these three items. The evergreen roll was a wonderful presentation, and tasted okay, but I prefer the Mamasan roll. 4 stars. The chicken teriyaki was okay - a bit too much sauce on it. The same can be said of the Lobster & Steak platter - just too much sauce. Steak was good, though. 3.5 stars. The dumpling soup was our least favorite. 1.5 stars. Simply didn't taste fresh - got the feeling that it might have been reheated from the day prior. We did not try the desserts or sashimi. We will definitely come back to try the grill section next.

Sakana has, unfortunately, gone downhill. I suspect the owners may have sold, as we have not seen them at the restaurant in some time. About a month ago, we ordered a tuna hand roll and got, instead, a spicy tuna hand roll made with "scrape", which is when they use a knife to scrape off the bits of fish that are left up against the skin after the rest of it's been cut off. Usually this is older fish. The "scrape" is then mixed up with a horseradish sauce to mask the off-flavors, and then sold at full-price. Americans, apparently, are not supposed to know the difference. This is a common trick sushi restaurants have started using to pad their bottom lines, and Sakana is not the only one in town doing it, but they didn't used to. And then yesterday, we ordered a yellowtail hand roll and again got scrape. This time,my wife brought it back the next day for a refund and was treated extremely rudely by not one but two employees. That was it -- no more Sakana for us.
(2)Megs H.
Sushi presentation was good, but the fish meat was SMOOSHY and gross. (Not sure how else to describe it... the steaks of fish meat on the sushi were mushy instead of firm. Almost as if they were frozen too much, and then got handled wrong?) The teriyaki salmon, however, is fantastic! I recommend it!
(3)Jenn C.
We've been going here since they opened. Only once were we disappointed. Great rolls, fresh fish and excellent service.
(4)Tina L.
Evergreen roll - It's a special roll not on the menu. I always order it because everyone secretly wants to be "in" and this roll is my ticket. Did I mention it's delishx10. I'm usually a Sashimi girl but I'll carb load just for this guy. Sit at the sushi bar- I always feel like a baby bird awaiting it's next meal but the chef's are extremely nice and "treat' their regulars ;)
(5)David E.
Hands down the BEST sushi in all of the Boise Metro. Sit at the bar and watch these super friendly artists do some of the best and most creative sushi in the valley. They often have specials which are not on the menu so be sure to ask your server.

For the special occasion Japanese meal, I recommend Sakana. I say this because in my book Japanese food over all, is very pricey for what you get. Walk in here and you'll be lucky to leave for under $50. But this is not a slam, just the usual price point of Japanese food. The staff is friendly. The service is very good. Grill/Chief style seating if you prefer or private authentic Japanese style rooms for larger parties. The food is excellent. The sushi/sushi-mi it seems as gotten slightly more pricey and the rolls a tad smaller. The atmosphere is open and comfortable. All in all a very, very good Japanese restaurant experience.
(4)Jamieleigh W.
Loved the Manasan roll! So yummy!! Everyone recommended the evergreen roll but I spit it back out... maybe it was just the texture for me. The speciality rolls were HUGE though!
(5)Dana M.
This past Saturday my boyfriend and me decided to try the new Sakana on Vista. The inside is MUCH nicer than the outside and I was really excited about that. Our server was super sweet and even gave us complimentary edamame. I ordered the Mamasan. It was good, but nothing outstanding. I also ordered wine, which came in the tiniest glass ever. My boyfriend liked his Cali and tuna rolls, but again, it's wasn't anything out of the ordinary. The servers are great and the food is okay. I would definitely go back if i was craving sushi and didn't want to travel downtown.
(3)Peter S.
Been here many times and typically, the food and service are good, however I recently tried a chicken dish that was overly tough... it had clearly been chicken that was cooked and then reheated. I was asked by both my server and another employee (or manager?) how my meal was and I very politely told them both that the dish was awful (it had missed in other areas as well). My real complaint is that neither employee expressed any kind of sympathy that the meal was bad nor really even acknowledged me. They just gave me a blank look and blinked once or twice before walking off. Why ask if you don't want to hear the answer? Terribly upset with the service, but the food is usually decent and you can take it to go if you like. One final comment: the chicken tempura should be avoided -- their vegetable tempura is great, but they prepare the chicken tempura very oddly.

I am a Idaho native, and I think Sakana is wonderful. I have been to many Japanese restaurants and this holds par with the best of them. I may not have the fish background some of the other reviewers seem to think they have coming from LA, but maybe they should just go back and eat it there! Plus the service is fantastic and always treat their customers well.
(5)Sean R.
This was a very enjoyable Sushi experience! I have eaten at many different sushi houses all over the U.S. and this one is definitely in the top 5 I have tried! The chef's creations were both very tasty AND very artistically created! I had the Red Bell and my wife had the Candy Cane! Both were great! The Candy Cane was spicy, to say the least! I am not a fan of spicy foods, though. The Red Bell was great! The wait staff was very attentive to our needs. The best thing, for us, was that it was within walking distance from our hotel room at Candlewood Suites! If we ever pass this way again, we will definitely stop in!
(5)Angie S.
We have been going here a couple times of year since they opened. The service is ok. The Sushi - meh - certainly not the best or the freshest - not even a great value. We have had much better homemade sushi so that is not saying much. The hibachi is fun, but you wait a long to before they come out to cook. They have great miso soup, the house salad is nice. The Udon noodle soup is a great value. But - be warned, you had better eat the entire bowl. You will be disappointed in asking to take the leftovers home as they will dump most the broth out and send you home with a tiny container of the remaining noodles. Will I go back? Probably after the lingering memory of disappointment wears off in about 8 months.
(2)Mazal S.
I'm sorry but the sushi is just not good enough. Good service.

Dollar sushi Monday and Tuesday! Yum
(5)Emily S.
I know what you're thinking.... 'sushi?!?!? In Idaho?!?' Yes, my friends. This was quite a surprise to me. Fresh, fresh, fresh. Melt in your mouth fresh. Service was impressive and the place is clean. We had a sashimi platter and shared a couple of rolls between 4 of us. I always leave room for dessert and we ordered the deep fried ice cream. It was pretty good, but I'll pass on it next time.
(5)Robert B.
Great staff and good food. I have been to Sakana for lunch and dinner many times and they deliver every time. I only wish they had more specialty rolls.
(4)Richard E.
Sakana has become as comfortable for my wife and I as our favorite pair of slippers. We go for lunch at least once, and usually twice a month. The Bento box lunch meals are wonderful, especially the salmon. The fish is fresh and smells clean and inviting. Sakana has the best tuna, fatty salmon, and shrimp in the Treasure Valley. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The menu can be a bit confusing to those new to sushi, but the staff is happy to explain and give suggestions. The miso soup is heavenly. My wife has commented that is better than any tranquilizer made.

Sushi is ok

Sushi in Idaho. Yup thank good for jets. The place feels like a remodeled Wendys building. Needs more eye and sound appeal, but once you get past the appearance the food was good. We seat to the sushi bar and chatted with the chefs. They where helpful and showed there skills with a smile. The fish had good color and texture without any smell of the ocean. We had the house salad(3.50) and wow......Calamari and greens mixed with sweet ginger sauce. We had smoked and regular salmon, yellowtail,. and eel again they were large freash portions and clean presentations Price was in normal range to us. Worth the price.

My husband and I came here for a dinner date maybe last year. At the time, I heard this place had the best sushi, although that's not what we came for. I didn't like the miso (I think?) soup, which unfortunately reminded me of the unpleasant flavors associated with nausea. I ordered chicken, he ordered steak. Our portions looked fairly large, but the flavor was bland. Normally when we go out to eat, I can't finish my meal and end up taking the leftovers home in a box. However, neither of us felt satisfied after eating here. My husband was hungry enough that we went and got him a sandwich from Jack in the Box.
(2)Burke M.
Not that great for sushi. All rolls taste similar. Somebody recommended this place to us and I was disappointed. For the best sushi try Simple sushi in Nampa. It is by far the best sushi around!!!
(2)Charlie C.
I don't know if there's anything more oxymoronic than sushi in Idaho. But it exists, and it's not half bad. The sushi and sashimi's a little more expensive than I expected, like maybe 10-20% more. But I have to say, I was quite surprised by the quality of the fish. The hamachi was actually buttery and melting in my mouth, though an extra order that should have cost $4 was $5 for the amount of sashimi that I got. The oyako don was only okay, and tasted a little bland. It looked really good, though. They needed a bit more sauce underneath. This place has its presentation aspect down, on both the decor as well as the food. The owners (or at least one of the chefs) I think moved from LA, and they're all either Cantonese or mainland Chinese. No Japanese here. Still, it's well done, especially for Idaho. Still can't beat SF or Seattle, though.
(4)Morgan B.
Sushi was not fresh, used too much mayo sauce on all the rolls making each roll taste the same. I will not each here again.
(2)Emile L.
Really delicious. Went here for hibachi style grill for my birthday recently. I really love to do this. The chefs are always so funny with their jokes about the egg roll and the japanese coca cola. Of course the best has got to be the tower of onions they light on fire. Japanese volcano. Hee Hee.
(4)Robert B.
Never had anything bad here. I love this place. My favorite meal is a Mamasan and a Rainbow Roll
(4)Bruce R.
Have eaten here 3 times and have enjoyed each time.
(4)Gloria C.
Went here to try a new place. Was ok. Noodles good, sushi so-so. Service good. But as it's a sushi place, they should have good fish. The yellowtail was very good, but the salmon and tuna were not very good. The rolls were ok, but not very interesting or diverse. There seemed to be a good amount of business, so that's good for them, but as my spouse said, I'd hope someone's first sushi experience would be with really good fish so they wouldn't dismiss the whole style out of hand.

For those of you referencing HP, this is NOT Sakura, which I believe is by HP. This is SAKANA, and is located on Overland and Eagle roads. The restaurant has wonderful atmosphere, excellent service and good sushi. I'm no sushi critic...but I want them to get credit where credit is due.
(5)Shagen M.
YUMMY!!! I was so excited to find this place in Meridian because it seems sushi is not very popular here! I am from the Bay Area in California and since I moved here I've been missing it SOO much!! This place has satisfied my cravings!! I ordered Spicy Tuna rolls and California rolls and they did not disappoint! Their soup and salad were really good too!! My husband and I had a great time watching others enjoying the grill chef doing his tricks for the crowd! Maybe we'll try that sometime too!!
(5)Peter S.
Very affordable and good food. Plus they are vegan/vegetarian friendly.
(4)James T.
This place is either way understaffed or poorly managed. Wether you food is good or not, your experience will be bad. The waitress was rude when my friend asked for a drink, "said it will be coming" and walked off. Would not come back
(2)Carl T.
Average sushi Food - 3 Facility -4 Service- 4 Price - 3 We have been here a few times and it's a good quick fix for those sushi cravings. It beats the grocery store sushi but not by much. They always have customers but they also always have seats, we we have never had to wait to be seated. Not a place a would bring a customer for lunch or dinner but I do bring the family when we have to sooth the itch, they know what to expect so I think that makes it ok. If you like a lot of mayo in your spicy rolls this is the place for you. I'm personally not a fan, I want to taste the star of the show not the supporting cast.
(4)Kristie W.
I took my niece here for her 9th birthday and they were so sweet bringing her cake and singing her happy birthday. Plus they gave her some chopsticks tied together so she could use them.

MERIDIAN, ID: It's time for me to update my earlier review, Sakana is better than I originally believed. Interior isn't flashy but its clean and pleasant. The service is friendly. The presentation and plating of the food is perhaps even above average. I tried three menu items: Hana Roll (4.5 stars): This was very good! Flavorful, complex, sweet and filling with light citrus hints. Also very pretty and with crunch. Recommended Mamasan Roll (3.5 stars): I bought this roll because many reviews have lauded it, but it was only okay. The roll is pretty and a little sweet but lacks much flavor. Just avocado, cream cheese and tempura shrimp, but no kick. Chicken Katsu: (4 stars): This had a flavorful, crispy exterior and a tender, moist chicken interior that was fairly thin sliced and delicious. Nice entree.
(4)Charles B.
I've had only the Salmon and Steak hibachi. It doesn't taste quite Japanese, but it is good nonetheless. Good service. They hibachi portion size is very substantial for a single person.
(4)JoAn E.
I rarely come here but when I do it is really good and I wonder why I don't come here more often. I will definitely get the Angel Roll next time, it looked so good but I was so full. The shrimp tempura was good and the gyoza was okay but not vey hot. Had the spider roll was good but the stars were the five dragon roll (see picture) and isomaki roll. The wow roll is good but very rich!! The Evergreen roll is excellent as is the Hana roll and the tiger roll. The spicy yellowtail is wonderful too. Absolutely delicious!! We initially came for the hibachi but they don't start that until 4:30 pm but offered to cook it in the kitchen regardless. They were very accommodating. Service was great. Sushi chef was very nice and tried to explained rolls as much as he could with his language barrier. Still super nice!! And the price was like $50 less then what I pay for at the other sushi places I frequent!! I need to come back soon!! Come for $1 sushi and sample so you know what rolls you like without spending too much. ;-)

Have been here a couple few times and have never been disappointed. Is sushi expensive in Idaho? Yes. Does Eagle Road in Meridian suck nuts at all times? Yes. Does Sakana on Eagle Road deliver great sushi during every visit? Yes! We've made multiple visits to Sakana since we discovered it in 2010. It is certainly a gem off the beaten path unless you know it's there. I pass it on a semi-regular basis and every time I see it I have a fond memory of both the grub and the facility On our first visit, we were fortunate enough to experience the "fancy rooms" (where you take off your shoes and sit at a low table. Service it A, grub is A, over all experience is A. The grub Sakana is on par with the authenticity of the experience. If you don't like Sakana then you don't like sushi!!!!
(4)Nathan B.
It was pretty good food. The prices were reasonable for them out of food that they offered. Service was good. I got the sushi/shashimi plate for one. There was a lot of food and the quality was good. Not the best ever had but certainly good. Just be careful coming in and out of the front doors. There's some hangy down curtain thing you have to fight your way through to get inside the restaurant. I guess it's good for you to work up an appetite before you sit down to eat.

Enjoyed our Tuesday evening with a few other Yelper's to take part in the dollar sushi night. I liked the concept of the cart which displayed the variety of sushi option for a $1. It gave me an opportunity to try out different sushi rolls. However, I was so excited when I saw my favorite roll The pink lady was an option. Every piece I tasted was wonderful. The services was just so so, took awhile for her to come back around. Next time I will make sure to order more rolls in the beginning. I will definitely be coming back!
(4)Ophelia M.
Came here on a Tuesday evening with a group of Yelpers. I can say that I will most definitely be back! On Tuesday evening (they may have the deal all day, but I know for certain they have it for dinner) they have dollar sushi night. They bring around a cart that features a vast array of sushi rolls and each piece (2 pieces if it's a smaller roll) is just a buck! My dining companion ordered one of each so we were able to try a little bit of everything. There was not one single thing I didn't like. It was all fresh, lovely, and delicious. The shining stars of the evening for me were their Pink Lady and Hana rolls. The service was attentive (if a bit slow at times). Our server was able to keep up well with our table of 6 (and we had separate checks--all of which were calculated correctly at the end of the evening). The dining area is lovely and if you have a large group, they have the option of private dining rooms. They're done in a modified traditional Japanese style. By modified, I mean that you do take your shoes off prior to entering the dining room, and you do have the option of kneeling but you may also sit in the more American way by how they have the table set up. They also have hibachi grills you may sit at to eat and be entertained by the chefs! Overall, a wonderful experience. I definitely recommend coming on Tuesday (or Monday as I believe they have dollar sushi day on Monday as well) if you've never been. It's a wonderful way to try different rolls without having to commit to an entire roll. And....a bargain to boot! Get to it!
(4)Steven B.
Waited about 45 minutes for my food. Evergreen Roll just tasted like rice, and Pacific Roll barely had any lobster in it. Idaho is not good for sushi.
(2)Don H.
I worked in the food service industry for 10 years and NEVER complain. This experience has left me with no alternative. We had reservations for 12 people for 6:30 pm. The entire party was there on time. We were seated at 6:45 pm. We had reservations for the hibachi table. They only staffed one cook, and all 3 hibachi tables were seated at the same time. Once we got the attention of one of waitresses and asked to order, 3 different times, she shook her head and walked away, LITERALLY I can't make this stuff up! It took 20 mins to get waters. While waiting for THE chef to make his way to our table, we were seved miso soup and salads. So at 8:15 pm our meal was finally started and when more room was needed on the table for our meals, we had to bus our own table. 4 of our party of 12 were children between the ages of 3 to 6. The kids were loosing their cool, and the staff couldn't care less. Around 8:45 pm our meal was served, at that point the children were over it and the 3 year old broke down into tears. Their solution is to bring the 3 year old, and the 3 year old only, ice cream without asking the parents if that was cool. The other children lost it because only one kid got ice cream and not them. The only reason I gave one star was the chef charmed the kids and the food, what little I was able to eat before the melt down, was very good. Granted I could have eaten the hind end of a rhinoceros by the time the food was served, but it was good food. You've been warned.

We were searching for a Japanese restaurant in our area and when the local Yelpers posted a "night out" at this place I was intrigued. We decided to go at lunchtime on a Tuesday because we heard about the $1 sushi deal. Three friends joined us and the experience at this place was a good one. We all ordered Bento boxes-----Pork Katsu for two of us and Shrimp and vegetable Tempura for the rest. These boxes were huge! And contained generous servings. I'd never tasted Pork Katsu before and this was a lightly breaded boneless chop, tender, and served with what tasted like a barbecue sauce. California rolls were also a part of the meal, and there were five of them! I took some home and enjoyed them for two more days! I tasted the Shrimp Tempura and liked it----just a nice breadcrumb coating and lightly fried. The Miso broth and salad to me were just kind of bland. I'm not sure why Japanese restaurants serve this typical iceberg lettuce with orange dressing. I might skip that next time. We decided to sample sushi off of the cart and made a selection of six. All good, fresh, and tasty! I'd like to try some more. I'd also like to try the hibachi offerings as our server recommended those as well. To end this meal we opted for an assortment of Mochi----flavored ice creams wrapped in sticky rice. A delicious, refreshing ending to the meal! I will give a lot of pluses for the service. Our server was very helpful, friendly, and was knowledgeable about all the sushi and dishes. As to the actual surroundings, like most reviewers I would say it's plain and understated, but that's kind of what you expect in a Japanese restaurant. There were also a few private dining rooms that had a communal table where one could dine with a group. Another plus about this place was the cost of the meal-----for five people the total was $57 and with the addition of a tip, the price of the meal averaged around $14 per person. You really can't beat that these days for a decent meal in a restaurant, and it would be even far less if you stuck to the $1 sushi deal!

Sakanas is one of my most favorite sushi restaraunts, there have been times I have gone twice a week!! I have tried many rolls and hibachi I have never been disappointed with the flavors or the service! Sometimes the rolls don't stick together however it still tastes great!
(5)Troy H.
Sakana is probably one of the best sushi places in the Valley. Sushi selection is great and quality is right up there. I think the only things to judge raw food by is quality and presentation. Sakana has both.
(4)Liz A.
Loved them! They rocked! From their sushi to their service....can't wait to come back again!
(5)Rebecca W.
Let me start this review by saying I'm a huge fan of hibachi and sushi. Sushi is in fact my favorite food. I was persuaded to go to this restaurant based on it's high review. To say the least I was greatly disappointed from start to end. To start our meal they sat our party of 5 at two separate hibachi grills because they were trying to fit two parties with one chef. I couldn't even enjoy the entertainment factor that the restaurant offers. I then ordered a coke and the waiter brought out a root beer. We ordered the playboy sushi roll which sounded amazing. For a $15 roll I was expecting something great. I have been to my fair share of sushi restaurants and know what I like. When the roll got to our table it looked fantastic, beautifully presented. However, the waiter once again forgot our side of eel sauce. The shrimp tempura in the sushi wasn't even deveined. You couldn't even eat the sushi because as soon as you picked it up, it fell apart. I was disappointed that they didn't offer clear soup, only miso soup. The ginger dressing on the salad tasted off, which was surprising because I usually enjoy the dressing a lot. When the chef started cooking the meal I was hoping my opinion on the restaurant would change. Because there were so many people at our table, his proportions were off. I barely got any fried rice while other people were getting huge amounts. The vegetables were 90% onions. My husband and I both ordered chicken entrees. By the time the chicken was finished, everyone else was finished eating. I barely even ate the food. It had such little flavor to it. If the meal wasn't bad enough, the server messed up our check. My husband and I were treating his family to dinner and wanted the check split between the both of us. Instead he put the two of us on one check and the rest of his family on another and gave the check to his father. After explaining to the waiter I was paying for bill A and my husband was paying for bill B, the waiter gave the bill to his father AGAIN. I wish I could give this place negative stars. I have never been more disappointed by a restaurant.

My all time favorite restaurant in Idaho. I always do the hibachi where they cook in front of you and order some sushi and the food is simply outstanding. Very nice place for a date or to take a group for an occasion. Decent prices too
(5)Kelly L.
A friend highly recommended this restaurant and we enjoyed a delicious dinner. The cornbread cooked in a little cast iron skillet started it off on a good note. We had the smothered pork chops that were tender and meaty with a potato cake with a crispy outer layer topped with gravy and a sweet corn. My husband ordered the catfish which they substituted red snapper that was lightly breaded with a bit of a kick in the seasoning. It was served with the potatoes and corn. For dessert the peach cobbler and ice cream was just like Grandma used to make. Looking forward to returning to try some of the breakfast, lunch and sushi items.
