Okay, maybe it was because we showed up just before 5pm but service and food were outstanding! The menu and summer menu (only good for another couple weeks) had plenty of options. My fave the Turkey Havarti Melt is always a great option but opted for the Ahi Tuna Melt since it won't be available much longer. It was piled high with Tuna salad & the cheese was melted perfectly. Bread grilled perfectly too. The greens were as nice crisp & cool contrast to the melted cheese but was a little too much when biting through bunch of lettuce with melty goodness all falling out. .regardless, a fork helped! Ali the waitress was super attentive & even let my mother in law sample dressings (this is after my mil said-bring me something "exotic") and we discovered that the Serrano Grape dressing was just a little too spicy for this 86 years old & decided better just go with Bleu Cheese, Ali didn't miss a beat & was back in a flash. Waters were never empty nor did we have to ask or look for anything. Nice! Ok, I tried to take a pic of husbands Bronco burger. .but it was mostly gone by the time I remembered! He said cooked just how he likes & flame broiled. What more can a girl ask for, husband AND inlaws happy, fed & no dishes! Add we're leaving tables getting very full and we see the waitresses running around a bit..so experience seemed enhanced by getting there early!

In the past the Ram was a good place to go for a beer and burger with the guys to watch some sports on the huge tvs. A bit over priced but the service is always very good. Tonight the server was very nice! But the food was awful. The armadillo eggs that are complimentary when you check in on yelp were not good. They sound and look good but miss the mark. The overpriced Caesar salad had this tiny piece of blacken chicken that was not the best! And for some reason I ordered a bowl of chilli... It was terrible! I don't want to be disrespectful so I will just say the the chilli and the food we had tonight is not what we would ever expect to eat or be served at the Ram. I recommen the beer, but not the food.

Food was good nothing overly special. Service was ok, but the drink were amazing. Bloody Mary was really good and comes with a beer chaser.

Went in today for lunch.... Had the crunchy pork belly burger... AWESOME.... Also had the loaded bacon cheesy tater tots.. Great flavor but had a weird creamy texture.... If they would put something in them that adds a crunch or at least something to chew., they would be 5 star!! Love the burgers here!!

I have enjoyed dining at the Ram for years. Great beer and better than average bar food. My most recent visit was quite disappointing. Myself and a few friends went to grab a bite to eat and a beer and watch the UFC fights that were on Fox. When asking if we could have the fights turned on one of the televisions, we were told that they were not allowed to show the UFC fights because of the violence and that they were a family restaurant. We were also informed that they cannot show rodeo at the Ram. Being a former college wrestler and former amateur MMA fighter, I was actually offended. This argument of the danger of UFC has been studied multiple times and it has actually been proven to be less dangerous for the athletes than boxing and football, according to the American Journal of Sports Medicine, but what do they know, right?! This is a sport and the Ram fancies themselves a sports bar. They are a brewery for goodness sake. Last time I checked, alcohol is a very dangerous drug contributing to 88,000 deaths per year. Yet, they are a family restaurant. How asinine is that? I quickly closed my tab and will never go back.

really good food! the prawns were great! perfectly cooked! hubby had fish tacos, yumm!!!! and our son loved his byo burger and fries. of course we ordered a flight but alas... too hoppy for us! waiter was the bomb!!! good family restaurant overall!!!

Visited The Ram to watch the game and get some beer and food. Server forgot about my beer order until our food came to the table. Ordered the whiskey chicken meal and my friend got the hillbilly burger. Both were salt bombs and overpriced for what you get. We couldn't even finish the meal. Server was slow and unfriendly. Overall, everything was below average and we paid way too much for it.

Great place for a after work bite to eat or meet up with friends. Good drinks good food. Decent prices with good servers.

My husband and I went to the ram yesterday. We both have been to the one downtown but not the one in meridian and we though we would give it a try. I got the cedar plank salmon, hubby got the Santa Fe burger, and kiddo got the Mac and cheese. The salmon was okay, it was cooked fine but lacked in flavor. I compensated that with lemon, they also give you a rice mixture that I thought was good and some "seasonal veggies". Which is in fact not seasonal, the waitress informed us. Hubby said the burger was good, and he ordered the big red ipa beer which was also good. The kiddos Mac and cheese looked like it had been sitting for a while in the back. On the menu it says Kraft Mac and cheese which we expected but it just didn't look or taste good. Our waitress was awesome though, very attentive and great attitude.

First time in Idaho. We're staying at the Country Inn and Suites across the street so we were informed we could receive a discount. "Awesome!" So glad we decided to go. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Noise level is surprisingly low for the bar area. Wait staff is very nice and welcoming and pretty quick. Amazing food! (I got the armadillo eggs and the Plymouth Guac) So many options! Highly recommended if you're in town!

Called at 11:22pm to ask if they were still serving (website says open till midnight) the woman manager who answered said they were closing in 4 min. I guess they close at 1126pm now??? Bad customer service! Especially when a manager is telling customers they close early. Too bad the food is good because the staff takes away from that.

Very disappointing service and food. The waitress forgot drinks and the free appetizer, the armadillo eggs (they were weird). The kids fish was not a good value for the price. My salad was very bland and unbalanced. The ruben was good, I wish I ordered it.... We will not return or recommend it.

What can I say? After a long day, we stopped for a burger. Our waitress, Caitlin, was amazing. Our food was correct, our waters filled, she was attentive, friendly, and good with our kids. Thank you.

I have dined at the Ram multiple times and despite being a bit on the pricey side ($11-$13 for a burger or sandwich and even higher for entrees), I have always been pleased with the quality of the food. However, I was disappointed overall by a recent visit. For lunch, I was looking for something low cost for a smaller appetite, so I opted for a bowl of chili, which is supposedly made with their Disorder Porter, though I didn't note any added flavor or richness. The chili was unfortunately salty, acidic, and watery, not the hearty, chunky, flavorful qualities I anticipated. It resembled a spaghetti sauce rather than a chili. In addition, at $5.99 a bowl, I would expect to receive a piece of garlic bread or even some tortilla chips to accompany the chili, rather than two packets of Saltine crackers. As a beer enthusiast, I also ordered a sampler flight of their brews ($5.99 for six 4 oz tasters), which was a great value. I expressed interest in trying their seasonal pumpkin beer, which was not offered in the flight, and the server was kind enough to include a taster at no additional cost. The brew is fair quality overall, and they have the usual selection that would appeal to any preference. While perusing the menu, I noticed they offer a very attractive happy hour featuring discounted appetizers, bar snacks, and drink specials. In addition, the restaurant atmosphere, with the multiple tv's and sports decor, provides a very appealing place to catch a ball game. I would recommend The Ram if you are hungry and interested in splurging on a burger or entree. For affordable options or snacks/appetizers, consider the happy hour. But always avoid the chili!

Just wanted to give a quick compliment to the corned beef sandwich, very tasty. Corned beef was tender and juicy the creamy horse radish sauce was a great compliment and not over powering and the rabbit punch Irish red au jus was a great finish. The only downside is that the bread will be very soggy tomorrow when I eat the other half but I would definitely recommend this sandwich just wish they served it all year. Also wanted to say that the wait staff is always friendly and courteous.

Free app with yelp check-in. Something called Armadillo Eggs. Really delicious. Chicken with jalapeño and cheese. Our server Carson was awesome. Attentive and gave suggestions on what to order. We went with Burgers and were not disappointed. Large portions and lots of choices for sides. We will return the next time we roll through Boise.

Sorry to say this place is going down hill. Tonight I ordered the ribs with a Caesar salad. I normally smoke my own ribs so maybe I'm biased but these ribs are your basic low end restaurant quality with Sweet Baby Rays sauce on them. Very mushy so the sauce does little to help the overall quality. I was going to order a steak, but only sirloin is found on the menu now. Oh well, gotta get outta here before the loud bar games start. Gave it 3 stars for the drink strength (doubles) and for the great service. C'mon Ram, pick up your food game!

I really like the ram. It a great location for a lunch time get together for business. Good food I had the pulled pork sandwich lots of flavor. They do they're fries right nice and crispy. The chicken fingers are very good fresh and lots of good dips and a big serving. Check it out.

Stopped in for lunch and left full and happy! Atmosphere was nice not too loud not too quiet. The service was spot on and the food was really good. They're outside of the box with a lot of their menu choices, which meant I really had to make a decision because there were four different things I wanted to order. Will definitely be back!

Tony A.
Always love going to the Ram. They do change the menu every so often. They used to have an awesome chicken sandwich called the sarducci, sadly not on the menu anymore. Updated the tvs, great for watching sports. Always have great service. Excellent place for a cold beer and to hang out with friends. A little pricey but worth it. I recommend trying the seasonal beers, but my go to beer is the Pale 71.
(5)
Callum S.
I've always enjoyed the Ram. They have a large menu with options for everyone in the family. The staff is very friendly and the happy hours are pretty good. I just don't like this location all that much. It feels like every other chain. The best Ram to go to is the one at the corner of Broadway and Park.
(4)
Nicole D.
I give the RAM four stars for its beer and three stars for food. They brew their own selection of beers and they are great! The food on the other hand is hit and miss. Sometimes its pretty good but other times its off the mark. A good place to watch sports.

Great place for a quick delicious lunch. Their burgers were fantastic. I had the tumbleweed... Cooked perfectly... So messy and tasty. The husband didn't speak to me the entire time except to moan about how fantastic his Hawaiian burger was. Seriously.. He was in heaven. The vampire fries are fantastic! The kids were happy too and the ice cream surprise at the end was a nice treat. Our waitress was sweet and helpful... A wonderful experience. We will be back!

I go to different Ram restaurants in the Boise area fairly often. Their cheddar cheese dip is AMAZING! The last time I was there, however, to the Ram on Pine, the service was mediocre at best...not their usual style.
(3)
Shannon L.
Nope, not for me. The food is no better than average and VERY overpriced. The restaurant is loud with a combination of piped in music, the open kitchen, and the family atmosphere. The service isn't great--our appetizer came out after our dinner was brought and the server kept calling us "you guys." I had a salad with ranch on the side--the dressing was a strange yellowish color. When I asked the server about it she agreed that it was "strange" and looked "watered down." Unprofessional, not to mention not confidence inspiring

The RAM is where we go when we're feeling wishy washy about where to eat...kind of a fallback place. The menu is large and the food is decent, but definitely overpriced. I like the wide variety of burgers, but to me the meat lacks flavor. Most of the beer is good (I usually go for the Amber or Porter) although again nothing has really stood out and impressed me. **On a side note we ate our Thanksgiving meal here last year and it was actually really good! We appreciated them being open. But the service is always friendly, I never feel rushed, and the atmosphere is nice and comfortable. Overall I think it's a solid and consistent place, just probably not where I would take out of towners.

Had a bite at the RAM late at night. Many TV screens showing sports, terrific service - best I've had in the Boise area. My server ROCKED! The burger and sides I had were delicious, both recommended by my server. It wasn't cheap, but it was quality food and quality service. That's worth a little extra, in my opinion. I will be returning to the RAM again!
(4)
Phillip D.
This is also a tuff one to write. The Ram is not consistent at all. We love GoodWood for that reason. We always know what its going to be like. At the Ram, we never know. its like that old commercial for SunKist Oranges. If its not SunKist, you just don't know what you are getting. Sometimes the Ram is very good, sometimes its not. When they are on their game, the burgers here are excellent. But when they are not, they are average.
(3)
Chad H.
Good for watching a game but for me that us it. The food is just average and the service has never been that great. With so many better choices in Boise for beer and bar food it is hard to see how such a large place keeps the lights on.
(2)
Christopher H.
Yes, it's a chain. And it shows in the food, which is chain quality (at best). The beer, however, is very good. The Taildragger IPA is by far the best IPA I've had in the Boise area. So - 5 stars for the beer, 1 for the meh food, and I find myself at a 3.
(3)
Rhet H.
The food was as good as we expected. The New York steak was very tastey. My wife had the club sandwich and it was awesome. The bread was perfectly toasted without being overdone. The waitress was great (Kylee). We would definitely recommend. P.S. The bread pudding was amazing.

Robert B.
The bread pudding! Get it!

Great place to go for food, tv, outside seating, late night eating, drinking...service is standard and simple. Menu has some great choices for food and drinks. Burgers are great and Crab/Artichoke sandwich is recommended. Bar and family seating are separate and also a patio is an option. Great beer and prices are what you'd expect from a brewery. Also open late, so go check it out.

I was warmly welcomed with the hostess. My server was overworked and forgetful. I ordered a burger with the fried peppers on top. The server asked how I wanted it, I stated MEDIUM and she promised that it will be nice and juicy. I also splurged for an extra $1.50, I think it was, for onion rings instead of fries. My food took a long time and the restaurant was only half full. While waiting for my food I noticed my fork had food dried and stuck to it. My dinning companion's knife also had a similar problem. The server was too busy to attend to us so we helped ourself to silverware on the empty table next to us. My burger arrived and it lacked any real flavor and was very dry. My dining companions burger was also in the same predicament. The thin patty was charred and beyond well done. The BBQ sauce was placed on half of the bun causing the burger to be dry then more moist once i got part way done eating it. The sauce still didn't help the burger. Save your money and stick to the fries. While the onion rings tasted adequate, I literally had 5 onion rings slightly smaller than a half dollar coin. REALLY Ram? You charge me that much for LESS food? What a rip off. I just stole from fries from my dining companion to make up the difference. To top it off my server charged us for a cocktail when I had a single beer. This place was a big disappointment and I would never consider giving it a second try. Eek! Methinks not is right.

Don't get a seat inside if you don't want to be bombarded by sports, sports, sports and more sports. There are more TVs than servers, to be sure. I went again recently and sat outdoors by the river, which is quite lovely, actually, and a delightful switch from the plague of TVs indoors. Alas, the service was slow and the food mediocre. I got the Thai salad which was swimming in so much dressing it made the iceberg lettuce (misleadingly termed "greens" on the menu) soggy. Not recommended, except maybe for the beers.
(2)
Jonathan D.
I think the beer is solid and improving over the years. The Double Bach is delicious but some of their beers lack a lot of flavor. The food is mediocre and over priced but they do have a great happy hour, which includes specials on beer, liquor, and food! You can find that at their website; theram.com Like the other reviews, I would give the Ram 4 stars for their beer/happy hour prices and 2 stars for their food.
(3)
Tom W.
I would rate the beer average at best. The service was good for a Sunday lunch crowd. The food is mediocre to poor and way over priced. Tablerock or Bittercreek are better choices downtown for both food and beer.
(2)
Summer O.
Good for families who want loud atmosphere to drown your kids noise out. The beers were a little better than Ok. They're supposed to be one of best microbreweries in area. Beg to differ. Kids meals are good. Service slow & no personality.
(2)
Beauford W.
If I were rating the bear I'd give this place 5 stars. Since I have to lump the food in I'd have to give this place a 3. I suggest a tall Double Bach before eating. This way you won't even care how the food tastes.

At the Ram, we never know. its like that old commercial for SunKist Oranges. If its not SunKist, you just don't know what you are getting. Sometimes the Ram is very good, sometimes its not. When they are on their game, the burgers here are excellent. But when they are not, they are average.

Good for watching a game but for me that us it. The food is just average and the service has never been that great. With so many better choices in Boise for beer and bar food it is hard to see how such a large place keeps the lights on.

Yes, it's a chain. And it shows in the food, which is chain quality (at best). The beer, however, is very good. The Taildragger IPA is by far the best IPA I've had in the Boise area. So - 5 stars for the beer, 1 for the meh food, and I find myself at a 3.

The food was as good as we expected. The New York steak was very tastey. My wife had the club sandwich and it was awesome. The bread was perfectly toasted without being overdone. The waitress was great (Kylee). We would definitely recommend. P.S. The bread pudding was amazing.

I would rate the beer average at best. The service was good for a Sunday lunch crowd. The food is mediocre to poor and way over priced. Tablerock or Bittercreek are better choices downtown for both food and beer.

Good for families who want loud atmosphere to drown your kids noise out. The beers were a little better than Ok. They're supposed to be one of best microbreweries in area. Beg to differ. Kids meals are good. Service slow & no personality.

If I were rating the bear I'd give this place 5 stars. Since I have to lump the food in I'd have to give this place a 3. I suggest a tall Double Bach before eating. This way you won't even care how the food tastes.
