Grimaldi’s Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Grimaldi's is one of my new favorite restaurants. I have never tried coal oven baked pizza before and I must say it's delicious . The crust was cooked to perfection, thin, slightly crispy and chewy all in one bite. My dining companion and I ordered a large white sauce pizza with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. The pizza was perfect just the right amount of toppings. I love that they bring oregano, garlic powder and Romano cheese to your table. I must say adding all 3 to my pizza made it even better if that's possible. For dessert we tried the butterscotch toffee cheesecake, AMAZING! I don't know what else to say other then its incredible. Our waitress Amy said they bake them fresh everyday. I really must comment on the service,it was awesome. Amy was so friendly and helpful, the type of waitress that makes the over all meal experience outstanding! To top it all off the General Manager Jon came to our table and asked us how our visit was. Any place were a manager can take the time and ask how your meal was and thank you for coming in is a place worth visiting!!!

Best pizza in the world. We get pepperoni with fresh tomatoes on after its baked. We crave this constantly and probably go once a week. Oops

I stopped in for the first time because I had to pick up a birthday gift at Sur la Table just across the way. I thought I'd have some pasta for lunch. I sat at the bar- about 1:30 on Saturday afternoon- and was surprised how busy they were. "The pasta must be excellent," I thought. The menu had calzone and pizza. No pasta. Whaaaat? I thought about going somewhere else but before I could decide the bartendress asked if I'd like to try a very good cabernet. "oh okay." It was good, so I looked at the menu again. Pizza is okay but I don't even eat the crust. I ordered a personal pizza with the garlic white sauce with pepperoni and mushrooms. I know. Wild, right? Anyway it comes and I have a couple bites and right there and then I promise myself never to have pizza anywhere else but here, and that I'll even drive from the North End all the way out to cow country in Meridian just to have this pizza- weirdly delicious. I even ate the crust.

We had great dinner at Grimaldi's last night. I invited my sister and brother's family but did not have reservation (Friday evening). We did not have to wait long and they could sit all 11 of us in comfortable long table. The interior is nice, wine bottles lights and New York pictures on the walls. We ordered all 3 different large pizzas, red sauce, white garlic, and pesto. All were DELICIOUS!!! 3 large (18") were perfectly enough for all of us, 6 adults, 4 youths, 1 teenager. We will come back.

Yes it's pricier but you get what you pay for. Half off wines on Tuesdays? Awesome. Delicious pizzas. We walked in and were told it was 45 min wait even though there were plenty of vacant tables. Maybe they're understaffed? This could explain why the bartender seemed so pooped.

Grimaldi's is one of the newborn eateries located within The Village at Meridian, and the inexperience shows -- mostly in the service -- not in the lack of it, but to the point of being over bearing. When you step into the inviting doorway of the grossly over staffed Grimaldi's, expect to be greeted by a warm, masculine decor and at least 6 or 7 eager-to-please teenagers in a glorious chorus of "welcome to Grimaldi's" at the reception desk. No worries though; one of them will quickly take the reigns and escort you to your table, all the while chatting up a storm not loud enough to hear through the ambient noise of the restaurant. "[Something, something] here before? [Something] Grimaldi's [something, something, something] brick oven [something, something]..." As you walk past the 10 pizza makers, all awaiting their turn to use the oven, and doing all you can to make sense of it all, your journey may remind you of helplessly sitting in the back seat of a SUV, while watching the driver navigate the narrow and winding road. Yet somehow, there's a level of trust that your safe arrival is imminent. You are now seated. Unscathed. "...[something, something] wine, beer [something]... your server will be with you momentarily." Enter the server (stage right). Enter your selective hearing (stage left). "Hi, my name is [Something, something] first time here? [something] Grimaldi's [something, something, something] brick oven [something, something] wine, beer, pizza, salads [something] may I get you started with something to drink?" Now from this point out, count on your server (poor kid, whose first food service job is this one) and the other service staff (bless their hearts) to visit your table an ungodly amount of times. All combined, this is what you have in store. They will bring your beverages, take your order, bring your appetizers or salads, ask if you want freshly cracked pepper, check to ensure that you're enjoying your meal (all standard practice for the most part, I know; it gets better though)... (Let the "ask" kicking commence.) ...ask permission to refill drinks, ask you again how your appetizer tastes, ask to make sure you're okay, ask to clear some plates, bring out your pizza, ask if this is the right table for this order (yes, it is.. praise the Lord), ask how the pizza tastes even though you haven't touched it as you wait for it to cool off, ask how it tastes now that you're actually eating it (amazingly, like a pretty decent brick oven pizza and not air, as you had originally tasted), ask if you want a refill on a drink that wasn't touched since they last refilled it, (holy run-on sentence, Batman), ask if you want garlic and/or oregano as pizza condiments now that you're more than halfway finished, (no matter how much you avoid eye contact) ask to refill your drink again, ask if you want dessert (no, thank you), ask how you're doing, ask if the meal was enjoyable, ask if you (finally) want your check, bring you the check, ask you if you would consider filling out a customer satisfaction survey, ask if would consider joining a newsletter, collect and process your payment, ask you to have a wonderful evening. This is where you will need to hop the fence, make your escape and be grateful that, though you were nearly asked to death, you made it out alive! Yes, folks. Over a dozen visits (I actually stopped counting after 15) to one table in a single seating is a little excessive, don't you think? They're obviously taking the approach of mass-training their staff at the moment, but I surmise that labor costs will quickly catch up to them and that ship will eventually be righted. Now in the midst of all of this, there is a bit of good news. I think. The antipasto appetizer was acceptable, and though I've had authentically better brick oven pizza in the past (2400 miles away, in Virginia), I would happily consume a Grimaldi's pizza again. However. My recommendation? (Don't ask.) Given the current circumstances, I highly suggest waiting to go there. And hopefully, by the end of August, back-to-school, a better trained staff, and an ideal (lower) number of workers on-hand will coincide with an overall more pleasurable dining experience.

Pizza was good but way too expensive. I get it, you are paying for the location and the ambiance, however, $140 for three pizzas, 6 alcoholic beverages and 2 salads and 2 cokes is a bit insane. The "white pizza" was pretty tasteless. The red sauce is quite good and the portions are large. The thing is every topping is $2, and the base price for a small pizza is $16 or more. If you want a fancy pizza place and have extra cash, enjoy the red sauce. A small is more than enough pizza for a family of four... Just make everyone agree on toppings and get just one pizza, otherwise you will need a week of overtime to afford the food!

this place lives up to the name; Grim. the pizza was border line disgusting. Guidos is half the price and five times as good. Flatbread is even better. wouldn't ever recommend this to anyone.

Ordered small Caesar salad with chicken for a light dinner. Lettuce was watery, dressing was either watered down or seemed that way due to the wet lettuce. The portion of chicken was very small... 1/4 beast at best. Chicken was cold, so was not fresh either. Ice tea came out only slightly tinted compared to water, had to send back.

My favorite place to eat! Love this place. The trick is trying to figure out what combination of toppings to use. Absolutely love this place.

We visited this pizza parlor for the first time last week with a large group of people of varying ages. There were several selections of pizza ordered. Our family chose a selection of Italian sausage, green peppers, mushrooms with red sauce and the usual mozzarella topping. Others chose the pesto version with sundried tomatoes, anchovies, and mushrooms. The pizzas are thin crust baked in a coal fired oven. They were very good, flavorful, with a nice crisp crust with a slight char on the edge. I read that some people experienced a black burnt crust and I had heard that from another person that dined here. We didn't experience that, so I guess I would chalk that up to a restaurant being new and getting the hang of making pizza. We all ordered salads and even the small sizes were ample. We would definitely return here. It's a lot closer to us than venturing downtown to some other good pizza places. It was a Tuesday as well, and the wines were half price. Not a bad deal!

My wife and I went there for a date night during the concert series at The Village. I found the pizza to be moderately good, not knock your lights out. The menu is really Ala Cart everything, even your pizza toppings. So be careful if you're on a tight budget. It's a thin crust pizza that I like, but would like better with more toppings. Because of the price per topping I felt too restricted.

Ate here for the first time today and my first experience exceeded all expectations! The pizza is phenomenal! Delicious tender crust -- a must for New York-style pizza. I arte at the bar and Brad, the bartender, gave me better service than I have had table side at other restaurants. I'll definitely be back... next time to try the white pizza! Great addition to the Village. rich.wright@milliganeven…

They did a lot of bragging how their pizza was NY style pizza. They also bragged that you will not want any other pizza once you try theirs. It was good but there are other pizza joints in town that are just as good. The pizza was cooked too long. The crust was very crunchy. You could not fold the crust to eat it. The sauce was good but seasonings had to be added. I love a pizza place that knows how to season their sauce before it is cooked. We will come back mostly because of its location.

As good as it gets. 1/2 off wine on Tuesday. Best pizza in Idaho!

You pay for the name and get pretty good food. Look, it's expensive, in a new, trendy area that probably has sky high leases. Regardless, the pizza is super good, the service was great, and the restaurant is very welcoming. We had a small for two and a caprese salad which was plenty for us. The caprese was fresh and our pizza, with ricotta, was spot on. Also enjoyed a few glasses of sangria which was nice on such a hot day, just enough sweet with a good wine aftertaste. Hope this place sticks around, if you're willing to pay for great pizza, check it out. Menu is straightforward and they focus on great ingredients and excellent flavor.

The pizza was terrific but very very expensive. $18 for a 18" pizza (that does not feed a family of 5) with no toppings, toppings are an additional $2-$4 each!!!!! Great pizza just way to expensive.

Favorite pizza in Treasure Valley. I run more so I can eat more of their pizza. It's crazy good! Service has always been great and the food always prepared well. All pizza is not created equal. I am more than happy to spend an extra $5 for a GREAT pizza. I think the wine selection was pretty good too...

First visit last night and was the first time the food and service was decent in the Village. The food was good but on the high side for what you get. Server was ok and pleasant. The menu is very limited and price can add up quickly.

Not a bad restaurant but not for me. Grimaldi's is the newest food offering in The Village, sporting pizza, salads, calzones, and desserts. Everyone in the party I went with enjoyed the food (especially the dessert) but to me, Grimaldi's is merely ok. I am going to sound like a grumpy old man when I say this but there is such a thing as having too good of service and Grimaldi's is guilty of this. Our waiter was great at first but then he just would not leave us alone. I am all for having my drink consistently full but over-bearing waiters that don't let you enjoy your food are a pet peeve of mine. As for the food, it was nothing special. That is not saying the food was bad, it wasn't. It just wasn't worth the price they were asking. This seems to be a trend throughout most of The Village's eateries so I wasn't too surprised when my bill came. I ordered a personal sized calzone (which was a very good sized portion) and when it came it was good but not thrilling. Grimaldi's is trying to be a little like an upscale Old Chicago but Old Chicago's food is better and cheaper. Having said that, I do like Grimaldi's ambiance and decor better. One thing I will mention again is that everyone in my group loved the desserts they ordered. The cheesecake was an especial favorite. Overall, I think other people would probably enjoy this restaurant, it just wasn't my kind of place.

Not much to say that hasn't already been said. Very very good pizza. Some have griped about price. When you consider location, quality and portions, then the prices are more than fair. A small will feed 2 people with leftovers. If you're on a budget, go to Pizza Hut. Note- if you add jalapeños, like everything else, you will get a very generous serving ;).

So let's go back a little, i lived in NYC and Grimaldi's is so famous there. Every time I was around Brooklyn Bridge, I wanted to eat from here but did not wanna stand in a long line which went around the block. Geezz.. (my head : not gonna happen) So once I was passing by The village and read Grimalidi's ... I was a bit shocked & happy. I checked online to make sure it was from the same restaurant chain! YESS!!! That was it! I had to eat pizza from here!!!! Since that day, we have done take outs and have dined in several times. We generally order a large pizza with jalapeños (FYI : they are super spicy), pesto, artichokes, etc... It tastes SO Good! The crust is tasty too, I believe it's Brooklyn style! And we generally take wine with it! Love the combo! It could be a bit expensive sometimes but one large pizza can be shared by 3 people, it's quite filling !! This one time they messed up our order (they added onions). So they made a fresh new pizza and gave first one free, so we took home 2 pizzas! Yay! :) I love the ambiance, inside or outside! It looks over the huge fountain. I am definitely gonna keep going back here and recommend this place!

Stopped here while visiting Meridian for the first time. The Village (where this restaurant is located) is beautiful! The atmosphere is exactly where you want to spend your evening. Well lit, with great music, lots of people, and an awesome water show display. Our server was terrific! Food was delicious! We ate a white + garlic style pizza, with spicy chicken sausage and spinach. Yum, yum! Full bar and decent canolis too.

I am pro Grimaldi's pizza, and I will return on an evening when I am eager for some calories and pizza alone. What I won't do, is return for an evening when I am looking for an outing, that involves alcohol. Their wine list... it is just so underwhelming. And they are an Italian place! They have potential to have an amazing wine list which makes it even worse!! Italy makes some of the best wines in the world, and there are PLENTY of Italian wines that are very affordable, so that isn't the problem. Unfortunately Grimaldi's has fallen under the presumption that to provide affordable wines, they must be supplied by the big huge distribution companies whose affordable wines, is also just plain bad. In my last outing there, I happened to come in for some pizza on an evening that was half off wine night. Suddenly a $40 bottle was $20 and it was silly to not get one for my fiancé and I to share at our table. I was unfamiliar with the wine, but I thought I would give it a shot as it was a grape I knew I liked, from a region I knew I liked. Long story short, we each took a sip. And then a second to be sure our first impressions were accurate. And then we literally gave the bottle to our server to take home with him. It tasted like over extracted, grape juice that had been transformed into a Vanilla-Coca Cola from too much oaking. This was the second time I had been there, where I had to actually teach our server how to open a bottle of wine. How are they not trained? In both situations I asked both servers, and they said they were trained for about 20 minutes on wine when they started. And in both situations, after watching them struggle for a few minutes, I saved them the embarrassment and took the bottle of wine from them to show them how to accurately use the foil cutter. And how to effectively open the bottle. Because they had no idea and they were shredding the cork to pieces. I wasn't upset with our servers in the slightest, because it isn't their fault. But I will never understand how a restaurant doesn't take enough time to train their staff. I've already taken care of 2 of your servers for you. So you can mark those 2 off of your list, and hopefully catch the others up to speed. Then after training, hire someone who knows about wine to create a better list. Or just contact me, I'd be happy to come over and do a little in house lesson myself as it really doesn't require much time or effort, and it saves your employees a lot of hassle and embarrassment.

First time to Grimaldi's. Loved it. We started with a carafe of wine, half price on Tuesdays! Out table opened up not 5 minutes later. We ordered the antipasto plate to start, nice selection of mozzarella cheese, salami, olives, roasted red peppers, and bread. Then we shared a small spinach salad ( small feeds 2 easy), and it was excellent. We then had a small 12" pizza, with a few toppings. It was a thin crust, and very tasty. We will definitely be back. Wait staff was very courteous as well. Highly recommend.

Quick, fast service and pretty good pizza. We felt like needed to season with bit of salt (unusual for us but..). It passed the folding test, folded in half easily. Great mozz cheese. We had 30 minutes to get to movie, they were quick to get us in & out!

Yogi Berra. West v East. Brooklyn, Baby! Value. Friends. Flies. All relevant to our first visit to Grimaldi's. The bottom line is we will happily go back. Although maybe after Treasure Valley fly season has ended. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Those were at the end of the list. YOGI BERRA: Yogi says this is a true story. He ordered a pie at the counter in a NY pizzeria and headed to a table. The guy behind the counter hollered out to him, "Hey, Yogi, six pieces or eight?" Yogi replied, "Six! I could never eat eight!" There was wild laughter in the NYC TV studio audience where Yogi shared this. You get it. A certain size pizza cut in six pieces or eight pieces is the same amount to eat. Grimaldi's has pizza in three sizes, Personal (12"), Small (16"), Large (18"). We were four in our party and ordered two smalls. Each couple had half a pie to take home with them. And here's the deal. In what is typical for Brooklyn service, pies are cut in sixths. Next time we'd ask the kitchen to cut them in eighths because now we know a small is a perfect share to size by four lighter eaters. WEST v EAST COAST: Noting some review complaints on items such as absence of ranch dressing and need to order toppings separately, that is absence of "special combo" pizzas, that may not be a failure of Grimaldi's but a difference in expectations on West v East Coasts for pizza. My hubby is Italian American born and raised in Brooklyn, His expectation is you have a cheese pie (red sauce and mozzarella) or maybe a white pie (olive oil and mozzarella) and if you really MUST add something you select from a traditional list like onions, bell peppers.... When we moved from NY to SF he was appalled, that's the right verb, to find people put things like ham and pineapple on their pizzas and called it a Hawaiian or similar. I'm a native Oregonian. It doesn't seem out of bounds to me. Regional expectations differ. Grimaldi's leans East. BROOKLYN, BABY!: Grimaldi's here is an offshoot of Grimaldi's in Brooklyn. It is not a franchised store, but an outpost of south and westward expansion by this privately owned business. (Joe Ciolli is current CEO.) Why Meridian was selected for a Grimaldi's I know not. But I'm glad they came. Grimaldi's pizza is coal oven baked. That produces a different crust outcome for texture and edge toasting than a wood fired or gas fired pizza oven. They use water specially formulated to resemble Brooklyn water in the dough. (They do not serve that to drink, thank goodness; I can say from personal experience drinking Brooklyn's water is no treat.) There are bakers who swear this water is the secret ingredient that makes pizza crust or bagels made in Brooklyn the best ever. Criticism driven by regional expectations are not be Grimaldi's "bad "but simply different strokes for different folks. VALUE: Toppings are first quality, sauces and cheeses and meats and veggies all. We thought it a good value that two 16" pizzas with five toppings between them that served four people with half left over to take away clocked in at only $42. (16" = $14 - $16 red to white and toppings range $2 to $4). FRIENDS: Food is always more fun to eat when friends are present and so it was today to have friends along who had eaten at Grimaldi's in Las Vegas and who have traveled in Italy. Whether this is Italian style pizza or Brooklyn style pizza we agreed if not perfect pizza it is good pizza. We also all agreed we would have enjoyed it more without the.. ...FLIES: We sat inside specifically because it is fly season in the Treasure Valley. But the darned things were buzzing inside too given how sneaky they can be getting in as people come and go. This is no criticism of Grimaldi's. Ir is a heads up that flies are an issue this time of year. (Roughly now through early October will be fly season in this part of Treasure Valley if history is prologue.) We will wait to go back until the flies flee. THIS N THAT: 1) AMBIANCE: Light and bright; lots of windows, lights inserted in wine bottles hang from the high tin ceiling, red checked table cloths. High perch seating in bar along with a couple of standard height tables. More standard height table seating in main dining room and out on patio that is along a fountain. Great music on the sound system. Alas, a TV or two in the walls. Tables tightly spaced at walls, not quite so bad in middle of room. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: Level in and throughout main dining room. Chairs may be a bit tight in some places. Appears level out and accessible on patio. Wheelchair access in bar looks dicey for space although there are a couple of standard height tabkes there. 3) MENU: Has antipasti and salads too. 4) SERVICE: Young servers were friendly taking our order, delivering our food, filling our glasses. The manager thanked us for coming in. Bravo.

I have eaten at one of these in vegas so I was excited when I seem they were putting one in the village. There location is right in the middle of everything at the village and they have indoor and outdoor seating. I decided to get a large pie and wife got a calzone. Got our food and everything was good the pie was very good the calzone seemed a little dry but could have been the combination of ingredients that my wife got. My biggest complaint isn't he price.. 50 dollars for a large pie and calzone with 3 toppings and a soda is rediculous. My pie being a special was 25 bucks which isn't horrible but my wife's calzone was 24.. 24 bucks for a calzone is outrageous in don't care how many toppings u put in it and she did 3. With tip your looking at 60 bucks for a pie and calzone.. come on now... next time when we go we will just be getting a pie and that's it.. I am sure we can get out of there for around 30 which isn't horrible for a good pie..

I love brick oven pizza! So if your looking for a solid brick oven pizza then give Grimaldi's a try! The atmosphere Is great. Our sever tonight "Jen" recommended the White garlic pizza half pesto. We went with her recommendation and glad we did! Pesto was good and the white garlic sauced pizza was awesome! And the spicy chicken sausage is a must try! The anti pasta was a hit as well. We were surprised to find out that Tuesday nights are half price wine night! This is not your average pepperoni pizza place! So when you try this place for the first time try something different.... You will be glad you did!

It was an ok experience. The staff were fantastic. But the price point for the food.. wow.. we ordered 2 personal pizza's, 2 salads and 1 beer and the ticket was over $60.00. And to go to a "pizza" place and spend that... wow. I had sticker shock. The food was decent, nothing specatular for that price. Yes we had left overs for the next day, but if I knew it was going to be that much I may have re-thought eating there.

Good enough pizza. Good service. Cleanliness=gross. I was a little disappointed with the cleanliness. When we sat down the table was covered with the remnants of pizza from the table before. So was my seat, the entire bench really and my napkin. I watched the guy walking around getting the tables ready for the next customers next to us and he was just taking one brush with his hands leaving the crumbs where they are. Im sorry but I don't want to see what kind of pizza others had. It's gross. Please clean your tables better next time.

We have just become fans of The Village in Meridian. Naturally, I am now inclined to sample all or most of the food available there. Grimaldi's was our third food venture here. Our first mistake was expecting to get in here (or anywhere for that matter) on a Friday night. Our wait was around an hour. No big deal as we poached some chairs by the fountain while listening to the live band playing. The whole area was packed. A phone call to my cell phone informed me our table was ready. We were hoping to sit on the patio, but were seated inside. It was so loud inside that I couldn't hear a single word our hostess said. We had to speak loudly at our table to carry on a conversation. Our waiter took our drink order and explained the menu. Wood fired pizza, salad and wine make up the menu, though they have the standard soda/iced tea offerings. All pizzas have a base price and you pay between $2 to $6 for each topping you want. A large with red sauce was $16. With 3 basic toppings it ended up being $22. Pretty pricey for a pie IMO. However, the thin wood fired crust reminded of the old Flame Neapolitan Pizzeria we had in Eagle. Thin and chewy with some char on the edges. Very delicious. There were a couple different salad selections to choose from that come in small (serves 2) and large. They also had an antipasto plate. Large list of wine on the back of the menu, which can be seen on their website. Our server, while nice, left my iced tea glass empty for a long time. We had to ask for refills. However, he was quick to keep coming back to try and take our plates away. He asked me if I was finished while I had half of a slice if pizza in my hand. It made us feel rushed like they were trying to get us out of there to turn our table over. Confusing as there were several empty tables in the restaurant by this time. Either way, it made me mad, so we stayed and chatted (with raised voices) for a while. We were never offered refills again. I'd have given two stars if the pizza wasn't as good as it was. I was told the Caesar salad I paid for was really good (I didn't get to try any as it was taken away before I could sample it). If I do go back, it will be on a weekday. While $22 seems pricey for a pie, I'm willing to pay for good pizza, and this stuff is pretty good. Our bill was $39 before tip. Not too bad to fill up four people and have a slice to take home. Just wish our service experience was a little better.

Would rate 6 stars, if possible... Awesome pizza, bar none... fav stop for a sit down pie... wife loves the white sauce with chicken and veggies!! Also great with a Stella! Awsome atmosphere and sit out on patio is a must!

The pizza is good but not great. Both of our pizzas were slightly burnt on the edges. Cheese was great and toppings we had were above average in taste and quality. The problem: unbelievably expensive! Our family of 5 had two pizzas, 3 lemonades, and 2 beers. Total tab with tip was $85. One pizza was plain cheese and one had 2 toppings ($3 per topping!). We did have 3 slices as leftover but they don't reheat well. Have not gone back due to cost.

I've rerated my review. Finally got in to try the pizza. Excellent pizza and service was good. Manager made sure we were taken care of. Only thing that I would gripe about is the ice tea was on the weak side, No ranch dressing, which they claim that that isn't real Italian, well neither is catsup, but 100% of the restaurants have it. The same goes for there reasoning on Canadian bacon. Come on ( it's pizza) give the customer what they want.

Little disappointed. We came in for a drink and appetizer at the bar an hour before our movie. Got our drinks promptly, but it took 40 minutes to get salads. We ended up being rushed and unable to finish, as we didn't want to be late to the movie. The servers and bartenders seem disorganized, like no one is really sure want their fill job description is. I really want to try their pizza, and will go back mid week when they are better suited for a smaller crowd of patrons.

We got a chance to try the local Grimaldi's Pizzeria this week. Having been patrons of the Summerlin, Las Vegas shop, we felt we could make a good comparison. Since we favor the thin, crusty style of New York style pizza, Grimaldi's seemed a good place to go. Michele R. described the layout, service and seating well, so I'll concentrate on the food. We appreciate the ordering style at Grimaldi's as it more closely matches what we ran into in Italy and we hear on the east coast of the US. Somehow, the combo ordering more common in the west produces overloaded pizzas where the crust loses out, often ending up soggy. In our opinion, the crust is at least 50%, maybe more, of the satisfaction of eating pizza. We had a small pizza bianca ("white pizza") with pepperoni, mushrooms and black olives. We prefer the pizza without tomato sauce as my wife is sensitive to the acidity in tomato sauce. So where they offer a sans tomato sauce pizza is a plus to us and Grimaldi's does. Our pizza arrived in a timely manner and as ordered. We enjoyed the pizza, but would have more clearly stressed our preference for pretty crusty pizza with some char on the edges. Having read some of the past reviews, it seems some felt their crust was too charred. Perhaps the pizza makers are over-compensating, but next time we will more clearly express our preference. The ingredients were first rate. We might suggest a slightly less salty pepperoni, but that is just our preference. The LV Grimaldi's always did it "just right" for us, so we will just have to be more clear on our next order up here. We had plenty to take home for another meal. Since it was lunch, but pizza without wine seemed uncivilized to me, I had a rossoto (rose style) italian wine. Very nice, not too dry or too sweet, and not too high alcoholic content. Just right for driving within the lines afterwards. We chose to eat inside, figuring since the annual invasion of the flies had started in Boise, patio dining might be a constant battle. But, we found the flies had decided inside was pretty nice too and it was a battleground inside too. Having them as dining companions seems a bit much, so we'll wait for the first freeze to decimate them before returning. Overall, we'd come back, but as an after thought, we would say that Guido's pizza is just a bit ahead in total score on NY style pizza (for take-out Guido's would probably get our nod). But for dining in, we would chose Grimaldi's over Guidos for the ambiance, cordial service, and dining with friends.

Let's see. I have no idea how the food tastes because I've not been able to eat there. I hear it's very expensive, friends paid $57 for a large pizza. I came last week with 5. Told 30 min wait. Waited 30 mins. They never called us. We left. Called today and made reservations for 7 at 630. We arrived at 625. They told us 30 mins when we arrived. So...let me get this straight. Walk in 30 mins. Make reservations also 30 mins? Really. This is unprofessional and unbelievable. Go away Grimaldis. You don't belong here. ******Revision: Ok. We made it in at 30 mins! I was surprised. Even more surprising? The food was awesome! Great pizza. And the manager was very gracious and comped us 30% off our bill. More than nice. Expensive at $20/ person but great food, great service (our waiter hooked us up) and great Sangiovese.*******

Pizza was alright but spendy $2-$4 extra a topping is a joke. Salad was good. The menu is very limited. The services was painfully slow. We watched our server talk to the other employees while rolling silverware for 10 min after we had finished our food before she came over to ask us if we were ready for our bill. Yes I actually timed it. The hostess was busy chatting it up with other servers standing around... just an idea maybe the hostess could make herself useful when there is no one to seat so that the servers can actually help their tables.

Great service, just another brick oven pizza. Was good but not worth the money you have to pay for each topping you want on it.

Just ok pizza for the price. $14-16 for a 'small' pizza- which to be fair is quite large. If you want a pizza with a lot of toppings, you're going to pay out the nose for it. $16 for just the pizza, add between $2-$4 for EACH additional topping. It honestly didn't taste that great. I make better pizza at home. The salad was just so-so as well. Much better places to eat in the Village than this. If you want great tasting fire brick oven pizza try Flat Bread Neapolitan pizza in Meridian!

We were invited to the friends and family night we were treated like royalty. Great atmosphere, fantastic service, the music was spot on oh and the food.... The best New York style pizza ever. Infact I would bet because of the deep New York history everyone else is trying to copy them. The coal brick oven is impressive which makes the pizza crust perfect. The house salad was amazing and so was the cheese cake. The crowd noise was annoying but that is what you get with a full house. I have got to say well done, I will return ready to try something new.

I like the white pizza so much I'd like to take it behind the junior high and get it pregnant. I mean you need to have an attraction to garlic but it's amazing. Every pizza that we've tried there has been so good. And a large Caesar salad is enough to feed six

Not a fan... The menu and ordering system is strange, and the topping selection is lasting. If they don't provide any signature pizzas they should have a plethora of toppings to choose from. And forget about if you want some ranch with your pizza... The salads were a redeeming quality as is the location. As for myself and my friends, we will not be back.

I love pizza and I think this is the best pizza in the valley. The wait was responsible for a Saturday evening but we choose to sit at the bar anyway. The bartenders Alex and Brad helped us through the menu and did I mention it is the best pizza in the Valley? Loved the place!
