Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Visited this restaurant. Service was fast and the staff friendly. Found the spaghetti very good and in strips like traditional spaghetti. Judging from other reviews I found the product flavorful and good. Please try this place.

I have seen this place ever since they first opened up. They are right in the Fred Myer complex. its a small hole in the wall. They dont have any seating. They are delivery and carry out only. i think the idea of a fast food Spaghetti place is brilliant. Whoever thought of this place had their thinking hat on. I think it was smart to not make it into a restaurant, but have it as just delivery and carry out. However, I think only time will tell for sure if this will really work. As far as I know, there are no fast food Spaghetti places anywhere in the Boise area. I will watch this place very carefully to see if they last. I just heard the other day that Mongos is no more. My daughter commented that the building that Mongos was in is cursed. This is certainly not the case, but it does seem that restaurants in this building have had a hard time making it. The reality is that very few restaurants make it past their 1st year. Owning a restaurant is a very very competitive business that I think many that start one just are not prepared for. Anyway, back to Spaghetti Betty's. The meatballs are separate. You can order as many as you like. They are big. I had a traditional, a special (Which on the day I was in was a spicy pork/beef combo, and chicken). The traditional meatball was...well traditional. It had a good flavor, it was tender and flavorful . Not sure I can describe the flavor it had. I would say that it was not one of the worst, but neither was it one of the best meatballs I have had. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 7. The chicken meatball had no chicken taste to it at all. If I did now know it was chicken, i would have not known it was chicken. It had no real flavor at all. I would give it a 2 on my scale. The spicy special meatball was spicy, but I would not say it was anything special. I preferred the traditional. The noodles are made right there in the store. I could see a young woman making them as I waited for my meal. The thing that struck me as odd though was what she used to make the noodles. it looked like a device that is used to make sausage and grind meat, not noodles. the machine has a screen with several holes on it. The meat goes in, its ground up, and then comes out this screen with the holes. Except in this case, noodle ingredients go in and something resembling noodles comes out. I have used a similar machine to grind up beef to my own hamburger meat. I have never seen this sort of device used to make noodles. When I got home with the meal, the noodles were the very 1st thing that my wife noticed. They tasted ok, but they look weird. They look like ground meat that has been pushed through a metal screen with holes in it. They are way to thick and just dont look very appetizing.. Not a normal, traditional spaghetti noodle or even anything close to it. My guess would be that the owner wanted his restaurant to make noodles from scratch, but did not want to pay someone enough to make a real from-scratch noodle. So this is what he, or she, came up with. On my 1 to 10 scale, the noodles get a 2. Mostly due to this very odd non-traditional look, the size and consistency. The meals are given to you in those carry out containers that you get when you get Chinese take out. I was impressed that they stapled the bag to keep all the boxes from falling out or falling over. The sauce is poured on top of the noodles. The sauce is a bit hard to describe. It is a marinara sauce that you can get with or without meat. They call it Leaded and Unleaded. The sauce has an odd oily texture to it. Not sure what kind of oil it is, but it coated everything it touched. The sauce was a little watery for my taste, which diluted the flavor. When I poured out the meal onto my plate, the sauce was in the middle with a ring of water around the outside. I had to mop up the water with a napkin so it did not mix with the sauce. The sauce....well, it did not taste home made. My guess, though I could be wrong, is that it comes from a jar. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give the sauce a 4 or 5. The bread they give you with your meal was good. They say it is home made, but Im not so sure it is. The bread had cheese on it and is made to order with every meal. I love the concept of a fast food Spaghetti restaurant. I really want this place to succeed. My fear though is that unless they make some changes to their food, they might have a tuff go of it I think if this place can make some adjustments to its food, it could do well. I almost forgot, You get a lot of food here for cheap. I pair $10 for 2 meals. But then again, spaghetti is very cheap to make. Probably right up with there pizza in costs and maybe even cheaper. As Spaghetti Betty's is now, I was not impressed and would not have it again.

Hadn't been here yet, and were always looking for something new. I had tried to get delivery the day before, but it turns out I'm just a shade out of the coverage area, so we decided to get take-out the next night. It was terrific! The bang for your buck is certainly there. For $25, we got enough spaghetti for 3 people, with lots of leftovers, plus extra bread and 2 amazing meatballs. We got the "leaded" sauce (with meat) and it was great. We also go the spicy sauce on the meatballs, and that was amazing! Everything about the food was delicious, and we'll be back for more. The food was ready in 10 minutes, and everyone in the place was super friendly. It's not an eat-in establishment, but closer to a Papa Murphy's feel, pick up and delivery. Still, it was fast and very, very good. In closing, it's worth every penny. For a privately owned business, it holds it's own and I highly recommend us locals continue to support it. Thanks!

2 stars is a courtesy because I always look to find something good in every experience. My visit was to the food truck location off maple grove and amity (every Wednesday night they have a food truck rally). I usually go for my trusted Kilted Cod but this week it was absent so I thought I would give Betty Speghetti a chance. My experience was not very good to say the least from the moment I stepped in to the line, here is a break down of the Good and Bad of my visit. Good- * The best part of my meal sadly was the garlic. cheese toast mmmm. Bad * Understaffed- (one person was not enough to do the volume that was being demanded) * Menu is confusing and way over priced * I always watch to see after a transaction of money or debit if the workers wash their hands and he did. not. (Gross) *Long waiting time and the guy even left the truck and went somewhere for a few mins with people waiting. *My end result after getting my Chinese take out container of speghetti and meatballs with cheese toast is ... I would have been happier keeping my $11 -Speghetti was Luke warm ( I was served it first and asked to wait for my bread) -Noodles were undercooked and super thick like 4X more than a standard noodle. -The sauce and meatballs I paid extra for were bland and not appetizing. With a name like FRESH Betty speghetti I expected fresh pasta and homemade sauce. If you are looking for a good speghetti dinner you can find a lot fresher from one of the authentic italian places here in the Valley.

I started out by yelping italian places by my house and outside of a pizza joint, this was the only one around. I just moved to idaho so I'm not familiar with many good places to eat. I saw a one star review and a five star review and read them both. The one star review was all about customer service and wait time. The five star was on the food. I had plenty of time so I wasn't worried if I had to wait... I just wanted good food. It was easy enough to find right by Fred Meyer. I walked in and was greeted right away. He asked if he could help me and I mentioned I hadn't been there before. He asked how many it was serving and told him it was just me. He recommended either the meatball sub or spaghetti for one. I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and a loaf of bread. I was surprised at the affordable price . They packed it up and I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I made it home and dumped the spaghetti out on the plate and was ready to dive in. The noodles were huge and cooked to perfection. The sauce was probably the best sauce I've ever had. The fresh bread was a nice dipper for the sauce. I couldn't have had a better experience. If you are looking for home made italian on the go, this is the place for you!! Two thumbs up. I will be back soon!

Service was quick and friendly. Spaghetti was tasty. Salad was alright but the dressing made up for the iceberg lettuce. I enjoyed the slightly spicy sausage and the beef meatball was amazing. We got a ton of food in the family 4 pack, enough for two meals. We'll definitely go back again sometime.

Yummmmm.... Went there last night and I keep asking myself if it's too soon to go back. Noodles are delicious, sauce is so flavorful and the bread is soft and buttery. Price is very affordable so definitely somewhere to go when you're in a pinch, or even when you're not!! Delicious meal all around.

Everything was good. The only thing I don't understand is why call it fresh pasta when what I was served was cooked sometime before and set in a steam table to get all sticky and glued together. I know the pasta was made in the store but step up your game. No advantage to fresh pasta if it is not cooked to order.

At 6:30 on a weeknight I was just leaving the grocery store and had nothing prepared for dinner. The family at home was hungry, so takeout seemed like a good idea. Next door I noticed Fresh Betty Spaghetti, which offers spaghetti, sauce, meatballs, salad, and bread for takeout only. I decided to get one of the family dinners plus some extra meatballs to take home. I walked in and saw there were several people sitting and waiting for their orders to be completed, plus two others ahead of me in line. Still, I figured it shouldn't be too long of a wait due to the limited menu...wrong! There was just one employee at the register placing orders and collecting payment, and it looked like she was operating in slow motion. No sense of urgency, even though several more people walked in behind me. There was one other employee nearby, but he didn't seem to be doing anything other than answering her questions. I waited several minutes while she finished taking the order for the first person in line. The next customer had several questions, and I waited while they described to her all the different meatballs offered. She chose Traditional meatballs, and they informed her they were out of those. She then chose Beef meatballs, and the response was that they only had a couple of those left. Why describe all the different types of meatballs for her if they're out of them? And why would a place that only sells spaghetti and meatballs be out of most types of meatballs right at dinner time? I realized I would be ordering my spaghetti dinner without any meatballs since I didn't want chicken, and that seemed to be all they had. After an agonizingly long wait, they finally finished up this woman's order and it was my turn. As I stepped up to the register, the man behind me piped up and said "since I have a telephone order, why don't you go ahead and ring me up and get me out of here?" Without even acknowledging my presence, the employee at the register agreed that would be a good idea. I can see why this man spoke up since it was taking up to 10 minutes per customer in line. However, that didn't really work for me! I stood there a few more minutes while the employee rang him up, working just as slowly as ever. A few minutes later she still wasn't done -- how can it take that long to ring up an order that was previously called in? As I continued to wait, I noted that in the 15-20 minutes I had been there none of the waiting customers had received their order and departed. They were now joined by the two previously ahead of me in line. I had heard they were out of both Traditional and Beef meatballs. I came to the realization that it would be faster to go next door to Fred Meyer and buy the ingredients to make my own spaghetti dinner -- which is exactly what I did. I don't know if the food at Fresh Betty Spaghetti was any good or not since I never got a chance to order it. Customers buying take-out are generally in a hurry, and don't want to stand there for over 20 minutes before even placing an order. If it's quicker to make it yourself, that kind of defeats the purpose... Also, if Betty Spaghetti sells only spaghetti and meatballs, they need to make enough meatballs to not be out of everything during peak hours. Additional staff and training for existing employees is definitely needed. I doubt they'll stay in business if changes aren't made.

Simply the best spaghetti, sauce, and meatballs I have ever had. Everything is made from scratch; fresh spaghetti pasta, homemade sauce, and the meatballs. The spaghetti finds that perfect balance of being hearty without being doughy. The sauce is simply to die for. Layer upon layer of flavor in both the plain ("unleaded") and the meat ("leaded") versions that can only be obtained by slow cooking without letting it burn. The sauce was neither too thick nor too watery - just right, and it sticks to the pasta like it should. The meatballs come in four varieties - Chicken, Beef, Traditional (Beef & Pork mix), and Spicy. I had both the Traditional and the Chicken and they were both among the best I've ever had. Next time I'll try the Spicy! The best part was that I was able to get a Family Dinner for 4 with 8 meatballs and extra bread for less than we'd spend at a fast food restaurant - and we have enough leftovers for several lunches or dinners! Great food, incredible value, and convenient location (right next to the front entrance to Fred Meyer). Cannot ask for anything more!
