Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

We tried this place for the first time and it had some of the best Mexican food I have had in quite a while! The homemade salsa was the perfect balance of heat and had good flavor. The portions are gigantic and the food was delicious! The steak fajitas had large pieces of steak that were perfectly cooked. Cameron con pollo which was perfectly seasoned and packed full of shrimp! The server was friendly and attentive! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Came up from Boise for the weekend. Went in towards the end of the evening on Saturday night. I had read many reviews here, mostly positive but a few of the critical ones made me a little cautious. We're native Californians and have had excellent Mexican food so sometimes our luck in Idaho is hit and miss. Food and service were great. I had the seafood burrito, my wife had the fajita salad, my daughter (not a Mexican food fan whatsoever!) ordered a cheeseburger and she said it was one of the best burgers she has ever eaten. Her friend had chicken tacos. Staff was friendly, even got to hear some singing from one of the servers. Clean restaurant. Food very fresh. Highly recommend so far!

This place is wonderful - the food is fantastic, the service is great for the McCall area and they put a lot more attention into the plate-style Mexican food than most places anywhere. The flavors in our dishes were way beyond that of what we typically find at home.

Simply amazing. my roommate and I come in quite often and every time is wonderful service and excellent food. muchos gracias to LA familia of pueblo lindo

This was a really great place. The service was extremely friendly and helpful, and the food arrived very quickly- and it was excellent! What more can I say? I'm very glad we decided to stop in, and I would definitely plan to go back.

Food was good; service very attentive. Family owned business. Not a full bar but if come back

Wow....delicious Mexican food in McCall? This hidden gem is on Lake Street, right my Blue Buffalo Pizza and kind of tucked away. It's decor is tacky, the service was odd and the food was amazing! The service: we were sat at a booth with our 2 year old daughter. We asked for a high chair since she couldn't sit down, to short, but the waiter interrupted mid sentence and said "you don't want anything except water to drink!?" We had yet to see a menu? We settled in, we order an app and drinks and our dinner. We let him know we would be having the beef taquito's first. Everything came together now it felt like a race to eat while everything was still hot. We didn't see him again until we were done and playing "jenga" with our plates in hopes someone would come by and give us a to go box for Maddy's leftovers. Not the worst, just not attentive: he was very nice. Food: el Pastor tacos = amazing! Carne Asada = amazing! Beans and rice, taquito's, guacamole, kids meal- all were great. I would make a point to visit here when in McCall. It's worth it.

Restaurant gave themselves an extra $7.50 on the tip when the bill came in. Shame on them

Excellent food, excellent service, enjoyable ambiance, reasonable prices. We liked this place so much we came twice during our short stay in McCall. Better than any chains restaurants, anywhere.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. I was skeptic because the breakfast place that was there before this place opened was quite possibly my worst dining experience I've ever had. Needless to say, this place blew our expectations out of the water! We arrived early (4:30pm) for dinner and were one of two tables. We had chips, salsa and some unique cabbage dip that was delicious (authentic). The food was amazing. Ordered the South of the Boarder Burrito with Carne Asada, nothing short of amazing. My wife had the chimichanga, very good and made fresh! We will definitely be back for more!

Wow - I think previous reviewers who called this great Mexican must all be from Idaho..... OK - there are a lot of styles of Mexican food, but this was....just plain weird. I've seen a lot of Velveeta queso, but this was maybe Cheez Whiz? The salsa was more water than salsa, and my husband (a Texan) was less than impressed with his Marguerita. My Pueblo Linda salad was lackluster at best - the pork was good (if it was pork, I couldn't tell), but it had more in common with bad Indian buffet Tandoor chicken than pulled or marinated pork. There was about 1/2 tablespoon of guacamole, which might have been really good. Some iceberg lettuce, 1/8 cup of shredded cheese, and about a tablespoon of sour cream. Luckily I had the strange queso to add a bit or moisture. It was kind of like a train wreck - I kept eating to try to figure out what the heck I was eating! My huband tried the La Biarra pork, which tasted a lot like meatballs in marinara sauce? Weird. Waited about 20 minutes for the queso (odd - isn't it ready in the back? nuking Velveeta and chopping up some onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and a dash of jalapeno takes about 5 minutes) Our waitress was occupied chopping limes at the bar with some really....special....hygiene. I recommend NOT dropping a lime in your drink! There are a lot of great restaurants in McCall, and a lot of cheap restaurants. This doesn't hit on either point.

Five stars for the some of the best food and service in McCall. After multiple recommendations we finally started coming here three years ago and only regret the nine years we missed. From the standard chips and salsa that start your meal we've never had a bad bite through dessert.
(5)Kim M.
Great find in Mccall. Had the carne asada street tacos and wasnt disappointed! Will definitely come here again.
(5)Teresa M.
We ate dinner here last night and the food was pretty good. Both my husband and I had enchiladas and were satisfied with our meal. The presentation of the meal was great , however we noticed on the menu that only the first basket of chips is free. Consequently we did not have any to go with our meal. The only reason I only gave it three stars was because they do not have a full bar to make authentic margaritas with. Having been on the road for a little while away from our home in San Diego that's the one thing we were really looking forward to.
(3)Anthony M.
I couldn't believe the quality of the food coming out of this place. It truly lives up to the 5 stars it has on here. The place has the best mexican food I've had in Idaho. By far!
(5)John C.
Came to McCall for a ski trip. I grew up on Mexican food from Southern California so my expectations are always low when traveling to smaller towns. We picked the place because it seemed to be the only place open after 9PM. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Had the chicken enchilada and shredded beef taco one night for dinner. We also came back two days later for lunch and had the Pezole. All very good. Friendly staff.

This was our second try for good Mexican food in McCall and it was a hit. Very good food and on par with many restaurants you would find in the Southwest. My only complaint would be the out of the box taco shell they use in the combo plates. A truly authentic taco would be on soft corn tortillas or a freshly fried corn tortilla. We had the flan for dessert and it was excellent as was the salsa. Will definitely return on our next McCall visit. Should add that the service was friendly and excellent.

Been here over a dozen times and it's hit and miss. Unfortunately, mostly miss. We keep trying due to the great reviews and have tried a variety of items. On our last visit I ordered the carne Asada burrito and was disappointed. Mostly rice and beans. The Asada was good but not plentiful. Three stars for friendly service.
(3)Milo C.
I have to say probably one of the best Mexican restaurant I've ever eaten before. I ordered the South of the Border steak Burrito with black beans and boy that was tasty! They did give me whole beans instead of black beans like I asked but the burrito was soo good I wasn't going to complain. One tip to keep in mind is that the first round of chips are free and the second round cost $$. They don't tell you this (at least my server didn't) so just a daily tip. I would recommend this place to anyone and would definitely eat here again!

Five stars for food and three for service. We had to ask our waiter several times for silverware and water--basics. Even though the restaurant wasn't crowded, it took awhile for our order to be taken and cooked. But the food was amazing! I had three enchiladas with different sauces; the shredded chicken with mole'sauce was my favorite. Everyone loved their food (carbs asade, pork tamales, shrimp with rice, cheese quesadillas) and virgin daiquiris. They served a complimentary dessert of cinnamon tortilla triangles with chocolate syrup, raspberry sauce and whipped cream. Yum!!

Food was excellent, service superb, such a great time! Thanks to you all! Need to visit it was awesome!!

My wife and I visit McCall several times a year on motorcycle trips. It's not really a destination in itself but rather a waypoint on our journey. We do enjoy the town and love the scenery, but we don't really get excited about being in McCall. It's the going to McCall that matters. I think it might be possible that Pueblo Lindo has created a shift in our attitudes. The restaurant is a pleasant little building on the west edge of town. The interior is clean and polished and very nice. No lakeside view, but there's plenty of that to be had all over town. The host was very pleasant and the wait staff very friendly and attentive It was a Tuesday evening and the dining room was pretty sparsely populated, so I can't comment on what it might be like when they're busy. Free chips and salsa (naturally) were delivered with our menus. The chips were fine and the salsa was very flavorful, although not very spicy (which is fine, not everyone enjoys assaulting their upper GI tract like I do). Then we opening the menus. I had to get up and look out a window to make sure we were really in McCall. After our numerous visits we've numbed to the sticker shock dining menus present in this nice little lakeside village. But this time the shock was because I was being shown pricing I would expect in the Snake River basin, regular towns like Twin Falls (our home), Pocatello, or even Boise. At first I was worried that perhaps quality would suffer. My wife ordered a salad the name of which I cannot rightly recall but included carnitas al pastor. I ordered carne asada tacos. The mean in both dishes was very tender and seasoned wonderfully. My wife left a clean plate and I was not far behind. Even my rice and beans were good, and rice and beans are hit-and-miss at best, even at my favorite Mexican restaurants. We were both thoroughly impressed, and not just because it was inexpensive and decent foot in McCall. It was just GOOD. Seriously, JUST GO HERE. At this point, I'm looking forward to our return so I can try the chili colorado (had it the night before at a place in Missoula, MT and was less than impressed) which seems to be an Ida-Mex (is that a thing?) specialty. I know it's probably Jalisco fare, but after extensive traveling in the southwest, it seems Jalisco cuisine has made its home in ID, which is okay with this guy.

Pueblo Lindo is absolutely delicious - one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to in my life, and I grew up in Southern California where there are Mexican restaurants everywhere. The service was excellent, too. With a big and varied menu, there's something for everyone's palate. I was particularly pleased with their nice vegetarian section on their menu. I highly recommend the Vegetarian Combo, whether you're a vegetarian or not: it's a veggie quesadilla & spinach and mushroom enchilada. Very yummy! Who would have imagined that tiny McCall would have such a wonderful Mexican restaurant? If I lived in McCall, I would eat here every day! Thank you to everyone at Pueblo Lindo for such wonderful food.

We've been to McCall a few times now since moving to Idaho and feel like we've exhausted most places to go in town but hadn't yet tried Pueblo Lindo. I like Mexican but always feel so full after (I guess it would have something to do with not being able to resist the chips and salsa). After a day of hiking and biking I was up for some hearty food and Pueblo Lindo delivered. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks from the exterior. The parking lot was full so we were worried there would be a wait but no worries...were seated right away. The service was awesome. I mean seriously good. The food was good but didn't blow my mind (although the queso gets me every time...I guess it's a fake cheese homage to my youth). Chips weren't greasy or too salty. Salsa and cabbage that were served with the chips were just so-so. I ordered the carne asada and JP had the chile colorado. The grilled scallions really made my dish and I enjoyed the sauce on my husband's. 5 stars for the service, 3.5 for the food. I am not sure how this places compares to the Mexican restaurant overlooking the lake but with decent food and great service I would certainly go back. And just a nit...but they really need to re-do their menu. All of the grammatical mistakes were killing me.

Food was fabulous! Chips and salsa were delicious. Best Mexican food I've had in Idaho so far. Service was great. Recommend for anyone looking for Mexican food in McCall.
(5)Tom M.
Pueblo Lindo pretty much lived up to the other positive reviews posted. There were six inn our party, we all order different entrees. Enchiladas seem to be their specialty. The refried beans were good, the rice was fair. Even thought the menu didn't say they had hot carrots they went out of their way to make me some, and they were HOT! Mexican food in McCall Idaho, this far north of Mexican border not bad,

This is a five star for several reasons: the service is Great! And the food is good. I was a little worries being from SoCal and all wasn't sure it would be good but we are pleasantly surprised. If we ever come back to McCall this will be a place we come back to. They have a great variety of Mexican dishes that will appeal to all and they are vegetarian friendly as well! A+++
(5)Jack S.
Food was not great, staff was putting out a weird vibe and chips are $2/bowl after the initial bowl. Who charges for chips!?
(2)Pam P.
Hardly anyone here for dinner Tuesday late Feb. Ski town seems deserted. Standard Solid Mexican Fare, good service, & friendly staff. This is probably the best dining value in this town!
(4)Angela W.
I would choose this place over chapala anyday! The food was delish, and the staff was charming! I had the veggie quesadilla, and a Chile relleno, and it was perfect! Even their cheeseburgers are wonderful, and I'm weird about meat...
(4)Danny B.
I traveled to McCall for work. The food is amazing! The only thing better is the size portion! I was impressed- this coming from a So. Cali boy who has Mexican restaurants left and right in Los Angeles. You won't regret eating here.
(5)Darin E.
Nothing to see here people! Just amazingly good Mexican food in the middle of a mountain town in Idaho. The family that runs this place is so nice and put some obvious time and effort into their food. I've been twice and each visit was both consistent and delicious. A stand out dish is their Chile Verde. It was tender and flavorful. I've also ordered their lengua and it was perfectly cooked with none of the gaminess. Whether the weather is hot or super snowy and cold, this place hits the comfort food spot in your belly with ease.
(5)Mike K.
Two of us Tuesday evening. Steak street tacos and chili Colorado. Bill was $20. No drinks ordered. The good: The place has a nice mountain rustic atmosphere. Parking and seating was easy. Locals were coming in and filling the place. Food was very good. Meals delivered on pre-heated plates. Staff was friendly quick and efficient. Waiter brought a small free desert surprise. The not so good. Lighting was a little dark where we were sitting but I had to write something petty and snobbish......this place was great.
(5)Tim B.
Chili Verde was so so. Salsa somewhat flat. Tortillas from a bag. Good service. Modest price. Will try again. What do you expect in the middle of nowhere.
(3)Lexi B.
Authentic and huge portions!

We stopped for dinner on Cinco de Mayo and it was fantastic! We weren't expecting much but the food was very tasty. We had the the shrimp and carne asada and the steak was delicious. Someone had the fajitas and they were average but everything else was really good. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was really nice. I highly recommend as a go! I really hope this business stays!
(4)Todd L.
Great authentic Mexican food! Service was friendly, timely and fun. Would definitely recommend to anybody in McCall looking for a great meal and a cold beer!

Good food.

I spent last weekend in McCall and having read other Yelp reviews I took my girlfriend here for dinner. We both love Mexican food - from TexMex to authentic (fresh chicharrones in a paper popcorn bag comes to mind). The restaurant is at the Brundage Inn (green and red chalet looking place on Lake street). I had skirt steak and camarannes a la diabla and everything was phenomenal. Everything was well seasoned and delicious - right down to the rice. The place is definitely not fancy but the food more than compensates!
(5)Delia M.
The food was AMAZING, the service was friendly and quick. It's not a fancy place but it blew me away! We can't wait to go back. I had the spinach enchilada and chile relleno combo, both were fantastic, husband had the fish tacos, they were great and the fish was cooked beautifully.
(5)Nicole w.
Amazing authentic Mexican. Great service. Better food. You will not be disappointed. The only other Mexican that compares in all of Idaho is all the way in kune (el gallo gero) and that's 3 hrs away. And honestly, equally amazing!
(5)Scott K.
Awesome food... Definitely makes the drive to McCall from Boise more rewarding! Just the right amount of spice to liven things up. Service was friendly and prompt. Great way to warm up after the Winter Carnival.
(5)Eric G.
My wife and I were starving, but we turned to Yelp before picking a place. Pueblo Lindo was perfect. We had chile colorado and chile verde. The meat was tender and both sauces had just the right flavor and kick. The service was great, as was the price.
(5)Jamie S.
So happy we discovered this place on our way up to the mountain the other day! Best Mexican in McCall... in fact - the best Mexican food I've had in Idaho. Three of us all ordered different meals and everything was amazing. Everyone is friendly and the food tastes homemade. I think I might have to become a regular...
(5)Jo A.
excellent food... service and atmosphere was good too... comfortable ... but the food is the standout ... amazing... authentic and truly flavorful and delicious. we had the fajita nachos and they were the best nachos I have ever had in a restaurant ... (we are foodies and cook amazing at home ). the carne asada tacos were excellent too... skip the chain place on the lake and go here... it is waaaay worth the two minute drive from town
