Great new again restaurant. I didn't like it when it first opened and then I understand it closed for a while when some of the staff left to work at another new restaurant in town. The owner brought in a waiter from California who has the correct experience to wait tables at an upscale restaurant in an upscale town. Good job! Eddie? I had a burger and homemade fries. I could only eat half the burger. My husband polished off the other half. It was delicous. I asked for the pastrami that comes on it to be on the side. It was enough for another meal and delicious as well. The fries were perfect, as was the delicious sauce. (although I did have to ask for the sauce). It seems they serve the sauce when you order a side of fries, but not when it comes with the burger. Weird, but oh well. It was delicious and they happily brought it to me. My husbands' avocado flatbread was simple and flavorful. Delicious. My friends scallops were good, but he felt the portion was too small. I would say when you walk in it's not warm and cozy, but the food and service were great!

This was my first experience with the high prices of the Hailey, Ketchum, & Sun Valley Idaho restaurant scene. WOW! What an eye-opener. These prices are higher than Washington DC or San Diego! Zinc boats a gorgeous dining room but it's way too hot with the lovely afternoon sun pouring in and the tables smack dab next to the wood fire pizza ovens. (see picture) Looked at the menu and again, wow. Prices ranged from $10 for soup & salads, small plates from $12-$22, Flatbread pizzas around $15, Burgers $16 and entrees priced around $32. Glasses of wine were $10 bucks each. I got the artichoke Flatbread pizza at $15 and it was yummy! However, my friend got the small plate of seared scallops sweet corn, crispy serrano ham, balsamic truffle infusion for $15. I got the better deal! Her dish, though gorgeous, only had 3 seared scallops - I gave her a quarter of my pizza! So, 2 glasses of wine and a small appetizer size flatbread with tip was $44 bucks. Cha ching! We had a problem with the check - my friend who made our reservation stipulated we would need separate checks - there was no one in the place but somehow we got the bill all together. They did take the time, after a bit of pleading, and separated the checks but it was a bit of a struggle. Social media fail - I Tweeted Zinc that I was excited to be visiting and they didn't Tweet me back either before or after. Aww c'mon people - FREE good will and publicity with taking the 2 minutes to write back? Tsk, tsk. Fail.

We ate at Zinc in May 2015. I wasn't expecting much on account of the 3.5 star review but we were pleasantly surprised. The menus is small, yes, which made ordering very fast. I ordered the halibut, my wife ordered the zinc burger and we were both very pleased. The fish was cooked perfectly and very tasty with a butter pepper style sauce. My wife liked her burger and the fries that came with it were delicious. Service was great and I loved the giant photographs on the wall. Overall I'd be happy to go back to Zinc and try some other dishes.

Two stars because some of the food was ok. However everything else - not so good. I had made a reservation because when in sun valley during Xmas break that is what you do. When we arrived restaurant was empty yet we were still seated in the half decorated bar area and not the restaurant area - not sure who gets to sit there or why we were not Seated there - no explanation was offered. I Ordered from the New Years set menu that had steak as an entree. The waitress didn't ask how I would like the steak prepared and it arrived rare! As rare as it comes folks. it was cold but tasted ok . It came with sweet potato mash which was good, but cold. We ordered fries which were soggy and greasy. Fois gras was part of the set menu and it tasted good. Tuna arrived really dry - as tuna is - so you are suppose to dress it. Dessert - we weren't even offered a dessert menu. So I guess the waitress assumed we weren't hungry - even after the chicken pot pie we turned away for having undercooked potatoes and no chicken, because she said desert from my set menu was on it's way - for all four of us! Don't forget to check out my picture of the burnt toast that they put on our table - I guess they didn't get the memo - CARCENOGENS CAUSE CANCER PEOPLE!! Overpriced, and not worth the $125 bill. Go to Vintage for the same price and amazing good!

Best restaurant in Ketchum hands down. From the rustic American menu, to the welcoming atmosphere, Zinc is one of those spots you will be frequently visiting because you just can't get enough of it. The menu might not be ten pages but thats because every single idem on the menu is excellent and it offers options for every one in your group. The restaurant holds its self to the highest bar of cleanliness, and you can't help but notice this due to the fact the kitchen is open to the dinning room (and this is something that can't be said about a lot of the kitchens in Ketchum). You will be amazed by the service of this place, the hosts are great and very helpful and the servers are always on point, and ready to answer any questions you could possibly have about the menu. So if you are looking for a restaurant that is the real deal, a restaurant that time and time again produces some of the best food i have ever had, then this is your place. But if you are looking for a restaurant that has over priced and mediocre food and a atmosphere as out dated as the people eating there then stay away from Zinc, because there are plenty of those places in town for you, Vintage, Pioneer, Sawtooth Club, Rickshaw, il Naso, Globus, just to name a few. Don't waste your life eating Awful food, head to Zinc and enjoy the wonderful restaurant, the wonderful people and the wonderful food.

Food here is bomb! Add fantastic service and it's a 5 star experience! Started with the sliders, which were fantastic. I ordered the ribs and my goodness, they were sooo good! I'm telling you, order.the.ribs. Service was great and the atmosphere was lovely.

Yummy! One of the most underrated places and all of Ketchum. I absolutely love the atmosphere and the food is off the charts. One of the best hamburgers I have ever had in my life. And, I have had a lot of hamburgers. French fries are really good as well. All of the food here is delicious. You cannot go wrong

Visited with a party of 6 on a Saturday evening. In a small space, we were probably the loudest. Attentive waitress, food was well received all around. Great beer selection. Thumbs up!

Walked in at 8:45 on Sunday February 15th for my wife's birthday, the host asked the line cook if the kitchen was still open, he said no, refused service. Won't be going back.

Spent the last week in sun valley Idaho on vacation. Went to this new restaurant called Zinc. Very noisy. Very uncomfortable chair. Food just ok. Would not go back to Zinc. Suggest pass on zinc. Meat was undercooked and service was sub par.

I had the salmon and my wife had the burger and both were very good. The service was prompt and friendly (though there were few people in the restaurant so I don't know how the service would be when the place is busy). The dessert--called a "trifle" but really a variant of a chocolate mousse--was very good also. But there is a problem--which is, the menu is very, very limited, with few items, even including the specials. There were no green salads. There was no bread or rolls on the menu. Despite the good food and service, I would not return any time soon unless the menu is expanded.

Fantastic food and service. We have been three times now for dinner since its opening. Friendly staff who remember us and our children. Great beer and wine selection with many local varieties. We ordered the kale salad with winter squash...divine! My husband and 10 year old son proclaim that Zinc has the best burger in town...and have both mentioned it could be the best burger they have ever had. I have had the lamb pot pie...which I drank the broth from the bowl it was so good and most recently the grilled quail with figs, pomegranate seeds, and water cress...so, so tender and Delicious. The food is simple, fresh, and the star of the show. Not overdone. We can't wait to try brunch on Sundays!

Inconsistent. I have eaten at Zinc twice recently. The first time was wonderful: fresh flowers on the table, warm rolls, good service, a mouth-watering chopped salad that I thought about all the following day and a marvelous trifle with rich chocolate pudding, fresh cherries and delicious chocolate cookie. I couldn't wait to return. Unfortunately, I did return: no flowers on the tables, slow service, the same salad was limp and the portion was much smaller, we had to ask for rolls, they were stale and did not come with butter, because, the waitress told us, all the butter was still frozen. I thought the meal could be redeemed with the delicious trifle, but was informed they were out of trifle that evening. Poor service and big disappointment. Won't return.

Walked about .75 miles from motel based on a recommendation from the very nice young woman desk clerk. Well worth the walk. Well rounded selection of starters and entrees and a good wine list. The two of us shared a very nice bottle of melboc, the cheese plate which was excellant, and the lamb pot pie. Each exceeded our expectation. It was summer and the patio was great. Try it!

We abssssooolutely love this place! The service is best-in-class, the food is incredible ( we had the burger, fries and ribs). We understand quality and so does zinc. We will be babyback.

I went here last night with some friends and the food was excellent! We started off with the recommended mushroom flatbread, with wild mushrooms, leeks, and manchego. One person got the Friday fish-fry special, which was moist and tender with fried okra on the side and a tasty remoulade. I got the green been salad with fried onions, blue cheese, and sherry dressing, as well as the mussels in a beer, chile, roasted tomato broth. I got to try the ribs as well, and they were the meatiest fall off the bone ribs I've had anywhere. The portions are generous for the price, I only wish I'd saved room for dessert! The staff was friendly and helpful. I would love to go back and try the pork chop.
