This was my third time eating here and the third time leaving very satisfied. Great edamame, cucumber salad, rolls and sashimi each time. Nice service from Calvin (sp?) at sushi bar and nice relaxed ambience. Highly recommended.

We ate at this place last night. A family of 5. We were hungry. First of all, the service was OUTSTANDING. I think our waitress was named 'Kat.' She was super energetic and positive. It really made a difference. The sushi was great -- and we are spoiled where live in California. We had the 6 dollar special and the 12 dollar special sushi rolls -- so good we ordered them both again. The food was great, not mind-blowing, but great. Service is what made it for me.

We walked in at 5,30pm on a Friday (it opens at 530) and had to sit at the bar seat, and only had the place till 630. Bottom line: this place is packed and many people make reservations. The sushi is fantastic. I had the spider(deep fried crab), and the wife had scallops and some other crab sushi(not imitation crab), a chicken yakitori (grilled on sticks and teriyaki sauce). Great food, good service from the sushi chef, and wide selection of drinks (22oz of dry Kirin), and other cocktails.

Sushi was very fresh and affordable.

Some of the best sushi I've ever had! Friendly place, cool staff and decent prices. I'm a sushi addict and i never thought i would find proper sushi in a mountain town. I stared with Cajun Calamari, witch was amazing, and the "Who's Your Daddy?"roll rocked . I had a pretty fun dinner and I will be back!

Phenominal. As good or better than the good places in Austin I'm used to. It was so good we went there twice on a recent two night stay in Ketchum. The Bob's roll is awesome as well as their seared salmon. The atmosphere was comfortable and hosts accomodating. We'll be back.

The food at Sushi on Second is better and fresher than we've had at fancy sushi restaurants in New York and Chicago. Great sushi in Idaho?!? YES! We recommend starting with the batayaki (sp?) which is a hot spinach, red pepper, mushroom, onion, and garlic dish which will appeal to vegetable lovers. The salmon sashimi melts in your mouth like butter. Our favorite rolls are the I-75 and the BS -- we crave them when we're not in town. Did I mention the service?!? The staff at Sushi on Second is always welcoming, super efficient, and makes us feel at home. It's usually our first stop when we return to Ketchum. Highly recommended!

So I've been here many times. I own a house in Sun Valley. Usually, the sushi is pretty tasty. This time, it was dry and the rice was undercooked. The rolls were falling apart. Also, the service was terrible. It took us an hour and a half to get our order. The waitress didn't pay much attention to us either. It took over an hour to get a second round of drinks. It was disappointing.

Best sushi in Ketchum hands down. If you have bigger group call early and ask for the large or smaller tatami rooms. They are the coolest private rooms.

My son said the Sush iwas ok. 2 entrees arrived cold, including the steamed white rice. How can that be! The meats in the entrees were cold and not tender. The sauces bland and boring. I think the plates were plastic. We had to ask for water, even though the water glasses were on the table. The waitress had a bad attitude and didn't pay us much attention. Twice we had to call her over. We didn't complain about the food, but it was not good. The Edamame however was hot and perfect. Hard to ruin!

Try the tiger rolls, a favorite when they have them. Delicious choices for sushi rolls are the SOS, spider, and yum yum rolls.

Not bad considering the ocean is 1000 miles away! The menu has no surprises and everyone can find something that they will like. I had the dragon roll and the Hemmington roll, both very good. No WiFi available in the restaurant and parking close by can be a challenge (like most of Ketchum).

Great sushi (That's right! Even in the mountains of Idaho). Cool people. Great customers. Make reservations, they're busy.

Sushi in a ski resort town in Idaho? Label me skeptical. Sushi on Second is a dimly lit restaurant with a relatively relaxing atmosphere, though the tables make it seemingly impossible to easily reach anything. The miso soup here was very good, rich and flavorful, but don't waste your cash on the pot of green tea. It's made from a bag and they leave the bag in the pot so it's completely bitter by the time you're ready for your second cup. The unagi and spicy tuna seemed good and fresh and the shrimp tempura was HUGE, a must-get. I can't recommend the spider roll, as the soft shell crab tasted fishy and not so fresh. Finally, the prices here are a little out of hand. (e.g. $5.50 for a small edamame appetizer is just crazy; we all know they come from a giant bag in the back of the freezer that you can get for $3 at any restaurant supply. Give me a damn break.)

1 of the 3 asian restaurants that I've seen so far in this little town, this was better than I though it would be but my expectations were pretty low :-p. We had the caterpillar roll, which was listed as a "chef creation"? (really gonna take credit for that? I guess now one would know out here?!), the dynamite roll which was pretty spicy and the spider roll which was on par with most other restaurants anywhere else. All these rolls were surprisingly tight with not too much rice, one downside was the wasabi was not strong at all. The ono was good but came with mash potatoes, at a Japanese restaurant? And the beef teriyaki was good too. Unfortunately they had no green tea icecream but their mint chip was very minty and had the texture of almost a gelato. A few weird things on the menu like the cream cheese wantons and the yaki soba with a "green curry sauce"?, and don't forget the mash potatoes mentioned above. Not a great place but not bad for this tiny little town and the prices were quite high.

This sushi place has lots of great write ups but its really just ok. Nothing at all stands out. If you're really craving sushi head to Haylie and eat Zou 75

I'm a sushi addict and was about to lose it after not having sushi for 2 weeks. We heard Sushi on Second was very good, but when we called for reservations it took us about a week to get in...apparently the rest of the tourists in Sun Valley were in on the sushi scoop before we were. It was worth the wait because Sushi on Second was delicious. It's a tiny little restaurant (probably one of the reasons it was so hard to get a reservation), but the atmosphere is super cute. We tried a few different rolls and they were all good, but the Kamekaze was my favorite. The service was good and the prices were reasonable as well. A definite stop for all sushi fans in Sun Valley!

I love this place! I've been coming here since the mid 90's and these guys still bring it!!! I'm from SF but this is still one of my favorite sushi bars. Sit at the bar and get some recommendations from the sushi chefs...they won't steer you wrong. They've got off the menu rolls that I seriously crave! The Zini roll is awesome! Kabuchi salad is damn good too. The sashimi is fresh...what else you need to know??

When dining in Idaho you probably aren't thinking sushi, but this place is great! Friendly staff, nice selection of creative rolls, and properly cut nigiri/sashimi keep us coming back.
