I have to say, this place exceeded my expectations. Upon first glance, it didn't look like much when I walked in. The old booths and retro signage with the stick-on letters made it feel kinda divey, but as I looked around I noted how clean and well-maintained everything looked. I think the building is old, but they're taking care of it. The guy who took my order was amazing. Polite, professional, cheerful, just the sort of guy you want doing a customer service job. As I waited for my food, I noticed he treated his co-workers the same way he treated customers. Definitely a good sign, in my opinion. I ordered the one cod, one chicken basket. It came with waffle fries and cole slaw. The chicken was flavorful, the fried cod was flakey without being too dry. The fries were the only thing that was so-so. But most impressive was the cole slaw. I'm not usually a fan of fast food restaurant cole slaw because it tends to be soggy and tasteless, but this stuff was thick, creamy, and fresh tasting. Wow! The weird thing about this place is it looks and feels fast food, but they bring the food to your booth. This means they pour your soda pop and dole out the condiments for you. I figured this meant I wouldn't get a refill, but on my way out the door, the guy at the counter offered me one. Excellent service, good food at a good price. I will definitely come back. (And I'll remember to take pics next time!)

We came with family (6 adults) and had the family meal and a bowl of coleslaw. We tried the Cod, Halibut, and Chicken. Everyone agreed all three were great. The coleslaw was very fresh but not the sweet type. The fries are waffle cut and don't hold their heat long but they were ok. Overall, great fish and chips.

I ordered the salmon fish and chips, while the SO ordered the halibut. Both were great! The batter was crispy while the fish was flaky and moist. Our food came with slaw and waffle fries; the slaw was a little bland, and the fries were unseasoned. Table side malt vinegar and salt made up for it, though. I wish the service were a little more friendly.

OMG. I have the fondest memory of eating here from my childhood and adolescence. It is situated out of the view of most Idaho Falls residents, in a dark little building in a corner of some random parking lot in the ghetto-y part of old IF. The appearances are unremarkable and the decor somewhat drab and stuffy. However, this is the town's best secret. In a city that lacks small, neighborhood mom-and-pop shops and old local businesses, this place is distinct by serving up unapologetically straightforward but sinfully delicious, american fryer classics. Here is a place that focuses truly on fish and chips. Allbeit an american way, the focus is always about the fix and the fixins. For those of you that hate on fish, juicy, chunky chicken strips are available for a little bit less. In my travels and subsequent relocation to a big place like San Francisco I have yet to find a restaurant that delivers such simple but indulgent comforts of pulled whole-wheat scones hot out of the fryer served with homemade 100% real honey butter, spicy, lightly battered cajun catfish filets served with pickly, silky tartar sauce and wedges of juicy lemon, the richly battered, juciy chicken strips, the nostalgic waffle cut fries (they re available spicy), and the best cole-slaw you will ever eat in your life, delicately sweetened in mayonnaise-vinaigrette with faint but suggestive notes of salary salt, mustard, and fresh black pepper. Prices, while slightly high for the average IF resident, are modest to the average big-city girl or boy, and service is friendly, while it is largely self-service. Few people knew about this place back in the day, I wonder how it's changed now. This place is the best kept local secret. I hope they are getting enough business to sustain itself.

I love this place! It is my all time favorite place to eat in Idaho Falls. Every time I go there I find time to stop in and get a bowl of the best clam chowder I have ever had and a basket of fish and chips. The food is beyond excellent and the service is very friendly and mom and popish. I love it! The restaurant is always clean and the food is always good. I definitely recommend it to everyone.
