As far as lunches go, I don't think it can get much better. I had some chicken pannini thing and it was fantastic. The sandwich itself was extremely good, the fries were amazing, the dipping sauce for the fries was yummy and they include a cookie for you. That pretty much ticks all of the boxes for me when it comes to a lunch. I thought the price was decent considering you would pay almost that much for a combo sandwich at a place like Subway. And I ate on the balcony looking over the river. I really wanted to eat some ice cream from downstairs but I was too stuffed. When you think about a meal the next day, that means it was good.

Had the shrimp bacon and the turkey cranberry sandwiches. Both were great! Fries were insanely good. Driving to Boise from Salt Lake doesn't leave a lot of options for restaurants. We tend to stop in Twin Falls. That is a long detour, sometimes. But this trip we found the Upper Crust Bistro. It is not far off the freeway, with a charming location. Eat outside on the balcony if you can.

Wonderful food I have yet to be disappointed the staff is very friendly and very honest with their suggestions.

Really great fast casual (aka not fast food) option in Burley. Everything on the menu is great. I get the burgers quite a lot. Try the cheese curds!

Our second time to Upper Crust this week on our drive between Boise and Deer Valley. So good, we had to save our appetite until we got to Burley. Huckleberry salad, coconut shrimp, fish tacos ... All good. And the cookies... A must have!

Great spot for a sandwich during your road trip. The Turkey Bacon Avocado was great! My wife had the BLT and said it was great too. Very nice soundtrack playing during our stop too. Service was great with the staff checking in frequently.

Traveling through the desolate wasteland of iceberg lettuce and hamburgers this is a diamond in the rough! Tucked about five hours from SLC and another five to Boise this spot is the perfect spot to stop, enjoy the Snake River view and eat some tasty and healthy grub as you stretch your legs. I had the shrimp sandwich sans the bacon with a salad and it was the BEST lunch ever. Bonus: you get a delicious cookie with every meal! Staff was so sweet - small town hospitality and charm. This gives you a reason to break up your drive through southern Idaho now!

The sandwich shop is above an ice cream store where they make homemade cones. I got two full to have ice cream but it looked great, sandwich rather the chicken salad was amazing salad was also incredible fantastic lunch spot. Who would've thought.

The Burley area is like Death Valley when it comes to good restaurants. You will be hard pressed to find quality food around here which is where the Upper Crust comes in. Their food is AWESOME. 8 of us visited the UC for lunch today and not one of us was disappointed. You can tell they don't cut corners here. Everything was fresh. The prices are great as well. I can't recommend the Upper Crust enough.

Stopped here for dinner after reading Yelp reviews. The restaurant was clean and the wait staff very friendly and helpful. You order at the counter and they bring your order to you. My wife and I both ordered fish and chips so our review is a bit narrow. We were impressed and would definitely eat there again if the opportunity presents itself.

Always a lovely time at Upper Crust! Their prices are a bit steep, but it's great food! Not to mention the environment is so lively! Kym is my favorite server. She makes the entire experience that much better!

My boyfriend recently changed jobs and this took him to Burley. He has stopped in once here to eat, and he raved about the fries! So when I came to have lunch one day, I needed to go here! We both ordered the turkey avocado bacon sandwiches, which came on very soft, fresh wheat bread. It was delicious! We of course ordered fries (you have your choice of fries, soup or salad). And he was right! Those fries are great! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside! Very delicious! And a generous portion! We will certainly be returning to The Upper Crust for lunch! They have a great menu, plenty of seating, and even serve a small selection of beer!

We were on the road on I-84 in Southern Idaho when lunchtime found us using Yelp to find a good place to eat. You drive about a mile off the freeway into the small working farm and manufacturing town of Heyburn. Long shot of all long shots we found the incredible restaurant! Large, clean, cheery dining room. Great sandwich, soup, salad, dessert selection. Both our sandiwichs were excellent. Fresh ingredients and bread.....delicoius.....wavy potatoe chips with homemade dip....generous portions. Service was outstanding. Smiling waitstaff who made eye contact and listened to you. This is an order at the counter, display a number at your table, and have your food brought to you type of place. Unusual service was a server stopping back by to make sure everything was alright, and then later a server stopped by to ask if we wanted our drinks refilled. Restaurant is upstairs in a large modern building, downstairs is a Cheese Factory with a Hugh selection.....and ice cream. This was a hopping place, with travelers, local families with kids, business people from the nearby industries, older couples, groups of women.....wow! This has to be called an undiscovered secret gem of a restaurant. Also, prices are moderate. Do not miss this restaurant if in the area.

This restaurant is placed right next to the Snake River and has great views of it and the snow capped mountains. It has a spacious dining room with lots of light and nice decor. We came to this location with a local who suggested it. When we asked him what to order, he said that everything he ever had here was good. I decided I would try something that seemed a little unique since I most likely will not get back to Burley anytime soon. I had the Chicken Pesto and Black Bean Sandwich with a side salad and white chip cookie. The salad had plenty to eat. So much that I thought I maybe should have gotten a half sandwich instead of a whole. The second I bit into the sandwich, I was in love. It was sooo good and unique from any other sandwich I have had. The cookie was also great! I was disappointed to hear they used to give out big ones when they first opened but that disappointment was only because I wanted more. Long story short, fantastic soup, salad and sandwich shop. I wish this place was where I lived!

Fun location and reasonable prices but the Turkey and Cranberry sandwich with fries was thin on meat and rather plain. I liked the thick fries but some people in our party didn't. Fast and friendly service.

Passed through Burley twice over past 2 years and ate here both times. Unimpressed both times. One downside is that they only have two vegetarian options - portabello sandwich and a soup. And even if you eat meat, based on our experience we recommend you drive up to Twin Falls and grab a sandwich at Jimmy Johns. Better tasting and faster.

Really good food. Nice decor with a great relaxing mix of music playing over the speakers. Great service and clean. Good southwest panini with a simple salad. My wife had a tasty chicken noodle in a bread bowl.

Refreshing change from your typical franchise sandwich establishments. I was surprised to find a place like the Upper Crust in rural Idaho. Their menu reminds me of Panera Bread. Upper Crust has gourmet sandwiches like turkey bacon avocado and chicken bacon ranch panini. They have generous portions. I got plenty of bacon in my sandwich. Sides include a daily variety of soups, fries, and cookies.

The Upper Crust Bakery is a great alternative to fast food when traveling through town. We found it via Yelp when we spent the night in Burley. You need to walk though the cheese outlet and then go upstairs. We arrived just before closing and the staff was still very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed my chicken chipotle panini a lot. It was very flavorful and just the right amount of spice. My wife's turkey bacon avocado sandwich was okay, but a little bland. It had a generous portion of meat and quality ingredients, but the flavor balance was off a little. We both got side salads with our meals. The salads were fresh, but nothing special. The kids both enjoyed their meals. The fries were some of the best I have had in a long time. Highly recommended.

when i can i love going to this place. the food is so good. my personal fave is the southwest chicken panini. the chips and dip are awesome same with the fries. but i think it's the dip that makes both of them! love the service too!

Upper Crust Bistro & Grill is a short drive from Burley and sits on the north shoreline of Snake River next to the U.S. 30 bridge in Heyburn. The restaurant is a 2nd floor walk-up from the cheese and ice cream shop. There is a small outside deck with a couple tables having a river view (weather permitting) and inside there are large windows overlooking Snake River. Unfortunately the booths and tables sit too low to see directly to the water from the dining room. The food, however, was very good. This is a sandwich shop with very reasonable prices. The sandwiches are all hand made using fresh ingredients and includes a green side salad (or fries) and a cookie. My wife had the shrimp and bacon pannini and I had the ham and swiss cheese on sourdough. The swiss cheese was very good. The dining room was clean and the help was courteous. Be aware this is a walk-up counter to place your order, a self-serve soda fountain drink, and then the food is brought to your table. I highly recommend Upper Crust for lunch, a light dinner, or a rest stop from I-84 offering sandwiches made to order which I am sure will satisfy most travelers. We are glad we came here.

Much better than your regular old sandwich shops. Try their soup too. And head downstairs for ice cream on the way out.

I have eaten here off and on since they opened, and have never been disappointed by the sandwiches. Today, unfortunately, was a different story. I decided on a salad, the one with chicken and huckleberry dressing. The lettuce was on the verge of being wilted, and the chicken breast was small and very dry. Very disappointing for the price. I may be back for the sandwiches, but I'll pass on the salads.
