Rhonda is a sweetheart and the Inn at Ellsworth is a gem. We enjoyed 4 nights in Hailey/Sun Valley skiing this January and were so happy to have landed at the Ellsworth. The breakfasts were enornous (don't need a lunch after Roni's breakfasts, even after Nordic skiing) and the rooms were spacious. We almost had the whole place to ourselves (hardly even knew there was another guest). In short - great food, lodging and company. We can't wait to go back in the summer!

This is what every bed and breakfast should be. The hosts are welcoming, friendly and take the time to learn all their guests' names and where they come from. Roni sleep around 9 or 10 PM because she wakes up around 6AM to make breakfast for all the guests. She doesn't pick up the phone before 9AM to attend to her guests. The breakfast consisted of fresh scrambled eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, and freshly made pop-tarts. The rooms are locked with a code, so if you are arriving late, be sure to inform the hosts beforehand. Each night is about $110+ on weekends.

If you stay here for business, do not count on getting a receipt. I called numerous times to get a receipt with no response or receipt. I was looking forward to staying here after reading the reviews but was very disappointed when I arrived. The grounds were not at all maintained, dark and very unwelcoming. You would think when they were expecting a guest, turn some lights on. Instead, I had to feel around to find a light switch. A great idea would be to add some lighted switches to the place. The carpet on the staircase was pretty dirty and cold. The house was empty and very unwelcoming, I now understand why. To stay in such beautiful part of the country, make the drive to Ketchum.

This B&B was a bit of a disappointment, both relative to other B&B experiences and to the website description. We stayed 3 nights, skipping breakfast the last day. The old historic home is lovely, but tired. The for sale sign on the property wasn't promising. Although very close to the airport, we did not experience plane noise. However the National Guard installation next door was busy and there was some heavy buzzing noise outside at night (a transformer?) Otherwise it was quiet on the 3rd floor. No AC. Lots of breeze coming through the windows. The paint in the rooms seems fresh, but the light colored carpet up the stairs is soiled. Bathrooms are "en suite," clean upon arrival, and functional, but no more. Towels were thick, sheets were high thread count, but both were tired, as were the only moderately comfortable beds. The amenities were marginal - Dove soap, 1 tiny bottle of glowing blue shampoo, 1 tiny bottle of hand lotion (and no more in stock when I asked.) A few old bent wire hangers. Nothing to hang up a skirt. The breakfast setting is lovely. The meal, served promptly at 9 AM, offered variety (something hot plus yogurt, granola, melon, juices, store jam.) But the food was not "gourmet" by any stretch of the imagination. The coffee was bad and while the herbal tea collection was large and varied, it was hard to find tea with caffeine. The innkeeper (Sara) was friendly, a bit harried, and rapidly available by telephone. There was no other service per se. The "do not disturb" sign referred to the room getting freshened, but we never saw any sign of that. Perhaps making beds isn't expected in a B&B, but the sign left us with hope that went unfulfilled, while the trash piled up in the bathroom. Bottom line, it was all adequate but somewhat marginal and certainly fell short of the expectations set by the website.

After reading all the positive reviews on the Inn at Ellsworth Estate in Hailey, ID we where so exciting to get there for our 25 wedding anniversary. Oh my god what a disappointment. First while pulling in to the driveway we noticed the grounds did not look up kept at all, then we were greeted (or should I say not greeted) by the rude impersonal owner who did not have the time of day for us. As we walked upstairs on the soiled rug our first impression of cleanliness was not good. When we got to our room and started checking things out we found it to be disgusting. The room had not been thoroughly cleaned for month's maybe even years, it was bad. We were so disgusted we had to leave. Not sure what has happened here but it should get negative reviews. Don't be fooled by the old pictures posted in the website, I think they are from previous owners when the place was up and coming - stay away.

We decided to take a road trip to visit some family in Jackson Hole over the 4th of July week 2007. Not being a native west coaster we thought it would be cool to drive from SF to JH and back again. We spread out the driving over a week and doing diligent research on Google Maps and Google Local we found Hailey, ID. Hailer is the little brother to Ketchum, which are posh mountain towns close to the ski resort of Sun Valley. You may remember a few years back hearing that Bruce Willis and Demi Moore "bought a town in Idaho". This is the town. The stately B&B was a beautiful respite from the 10 hour trek we made from Tahoe. Our room was on the 3rd floor and featured a queen size bed, private bath with power shower (no kidding, if it was salt water they can bill it as an exfoliating shower) and LCD TV. The innkeeper, Steven, was very hospitable and accommodating despite a slight mix up with the breakfast time. We had breakfast, which was fresh fruit, a fantastic NOLA style Eggs Benedict and baked oatmeal with strawberries. I would highly recommend this place if you find yourself in Hailey.

This is a very comfortable B & B in a quiet area of a gorgeous valley. The house is full of history and antiques. Our rooms were on the third floor, and a little warm, until we opened the windows and allowed the cool mountain breezes to blow through. The beds were very comfortable and had a fantastic treetop view; it felt like sleeping in a tree house. Breakfast was scrumptious, especially the homemade vanilla soaked fruit. Ronnie, the Inn keeper was a gem and made us feel right at home. We will definitely be back to see her, her husband and their stealthy dog Bitzer. I highly recommend sitting on the front porch and taking in the park like grounds. The only negative was the carpets in the halls were in desperate need of a good cleaning. I guess owning a carpet cleaning business makes you notice little things like that. I really look forward to returning in the winter, there is nothing like ski season in Wood River Valley.
