It's all about the food here. Service is good. Not pretentious. Seasonal food cooked to perfection. I looooove ck's!

I'd give CK's ten stars if I could! Ambiance= ten stars, friendly service=ten stars and food= ten stars! We had squash blossoms and crab cakes to start, both amazing! The fresh catch was a wild salmon with local corn and fresh pesto. Did not disappoint. Neither did the homemade carrot cake! I love CK's!

Heard that this place was the Shiznit. I can most assuredly say that it isn't. I ordered the rib eye. It was thinner than I would like and way over cooked. I like medium rare. This was almost well done. They also forgot part of my order. Otherwise the service was good.

The grub at CKs is incredible but this time I had the burger, it was top notch. The best burger in Sun Valley as far as I'm concerned. I tried Ketchum Grill, Vintage and Grumpys, they were all great but CKs was the best. The burger had a certain char to it that you could taste. It wasn't burnt but it was seared to a point that it had crisp yet was moist and delicious inside. They had the perfect bun and it was worth passing up other items on the menu. The place is great, trout is the usual pick but next time I go I'll be craving that burger again.

Divine. After a week of so so meals in Ketchum we took the ride out to CK's in Hailey, and it was well worth it. The butter lettuce and lentil salad was wonderful, as was the bread. My husband and I each had the Gaucho steak,, really good, but the fries with it were the best I've ever had. One in our party had a duck confit pasta he raved about. Lovely ambience, excellent service.

The food at CKs was really killer. My husband & I were treating ourselves, so we tried several aps with a great glass of rose, including a vegan stuffed avocado served with a salad that included edible flowers & pea vines. My husband loved his Kobe Flat Iorn steak & I tried the slow food of the day. I really love that their menu is seasonal & features local ingredients. It was a warm summer evening & it was such a pleasant atmosphere with the doors open to the patio. Half of the great atmosphere was the wonderful service. We go to surprisingly few restaurants where the staff is actually warm & friendly. I was so happy to experience that at CK's. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted in such a friendly way. Our server was very pleasant & attentive as well. Even when we left the bartender wished us good night. Just a great experience.

It's not everyday you find a place that has everything you are Looking for in a dining experience. Gem rest environment, great people and incredible food from the most talented chef around. The Chefs bar was hot with excitement and the incredible ice cream and desserts really brought a truly perfect ending to a stellar meal. Thank you to the staff at Cks couldn't have asked for more!

Really excellent food. Service is very good, and staff is friendly and accommodating. Had a large group of hungry mountain-bikers in town for the week, and everyone really enjoyed the food...certainly the best dinner of the trip. Ordered the lamb and panna cotta for dessert...both were excellent, and lamb was a generous portion, cooked perfectly, with a sauce so good it brought a tear to my eye. Also had a chilled apricot soup that I think had beets in it as well...was tasty but hard to describe since I've never experienced apricot themed soup before :) With the obvious quality and freshness of the ingredients, would very much look forward to eating here again.

THIS IS THE PLACE!!!!!! The food is out of this world! Where do we start. The menu items were unique, not too many choices that you were overwhelmed but enough variety that every one can find something they like. The presentation of all the dishes was compared to that of a gourmet chef presentation. The taste was what really got us. Like nothing we have ever had before. We ended up getting their soup of the day, the beet salad, the cheese plate which I highly recommend, the bread pudding spinach morel appetizer. We got all three specials considering how good everything up that point was which was a phenomenal choice!! Not only did we order all three but we ate all three completely, they were just too good not too. And of corse we had to try their deserts which you can't go wrong with. Amazing beer , we got the stout which was one of the best we have had and the wine list is incredible with lots of choices and great selections. The server was very calm, smiley, honest, knowledgable and most of all friendly. She made sure we had everything we needed and that we ordered the best things on the menu. She was great at letting us know what dishes not to waste our time on and which to order. We are from kuna, which is a Good 2 1/2 hour drive away and we both agreed that we would gladly take the trip just to eat dinner here again. Truly a top pick of mine in Idaho!!!!

CK's? Culinary Kudos. Well, according to their website CK's stands for the initials of chef Chris Kastner, but kudos are in store for this fabulous restaurant. When we first sat down with my father-in-law at one of his favorite restaurants I told the waiter we had very high expectations after hearing/reading the raving reviews. When the waiter delivered the check at the end of the meal he asked if they passed our test. My response: "with flying colors." It was tough to choose from the tasty looking menu, but my party of 3 decided on quite a seafood fest. Appetizers: Ahi tuna (a special of the evening). I was supposed to be sharing this with my husband, but it was too good for me to let him have more than a few bites. The peppered crust also made it VERY spicy so my mouth was on fire for the duration of the meal. Some sort of curry soup for my husband that was nice and light tasting. And the crab cakes for my father-in-law, which were also a special of the evening and absolutely delish. Entrees: My husband and I split the trout and cod. It's hard to say, which I preferred since both were so fresh and tasty, but I really enjoyed the squash that came with the trout. I probably would have also enjoyed the mashed potatoes that came with my cod, but my husband wasn't very good at sharing those...he was probably getting revenge for my selfishness with the ahi tuna! And speaking of ahi tuna my father-in-law ordered this nice sized appetizer for his entree...he was smart enough to cut off the crust to avoid his mouth burning off. We all licked our plates clean! Dessert: Our eyes went right to the carrot cake. And what a great piece of carrot cake it was- perfect frosting, perfect cake, and a perfect scoop of ice cream! CK's...culinary kudos indeed!

The food is good but dinner there is spendy. It is good if you like beef steaks or lamb. Their seafood dishes have been not so great to my taste although their seafood is fairly fresh. The waiters would explain the "specials", but those are actually more expensive than the ones on the menu ($35+ for the entree) so be aware. Some of the younger waitress are not really careful about the specific orders I made such as "no dairy product" for my dish since I am mildy allergic to them. However, the wine steamed clams (appetiser) had butter in it (I noticed it but I ate it without complaint), and the fried Kale which was substituted (original side had dairy) side had cheese in it. I complained about the cheese in the fried Kale to the waitress but she insisted that there was absolutely no dairy in it. But I can tell the difference of the cheese and garlic so I picked up the cheese piece and gave it to the manager on the floor, then they finally admitted that cheese was in. They apologized for it but they offered no discount nor free dessert or anything. In the past, they put tomato ketchup instead of raspberry sauce on the pena cotta by mistake. That time, I recall that no discount nor free dessert offered as well after I complained. I guess I had to complain harder? I think it is a standard courtesy to offer something if they made mistakes like that. But usually, the service is good so the stories like above are not the norm there. Good deal for the dinner is a slack time special which was $35 set menu for the dinner including appetiser, entree, and dessert. 40% off for the selected wines by a bottle. Their lunch is very reasonable and good too.

This place is ridiculously good... Idk why they don't put oil and vinegar on the table initially but ask for it. The roasted cauliflower is probably the best side. Everything on the menu is great!

Best restaurant in Idaho! We have dined here many times and have been blown away every time. The food is the freshest and perfectly prepared! The wine list is perfectly matched for the cuisine and very fair priced. We would recommend CK's without a second thought. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful building and decor. Recently installed sound dampeners, Yay! (Ketchum Grill come down and take a lesson). The most carefully done food in the valley. Good desserts and coffees. Expect to pay $$$. When I get invited out and they ask "Where would you like to go?" I reply "CK's" . I did have the most astonishing thing happen here when the server/owner commented on the fly in my drinking water, then walked away. Most recently I had the flat iron steak, which is a good description for the tough piece of meat I received. The potatoes were the best.

Great food all grown locally and prepared deliciously and seasonally. Its a little on the pricey side but I have to say that the food was delicious and the wine selection was great too. My friend and I didn't need a reservation when we ate here last Wednesday night.

Stopped in to have an appetizer and a glass of wine. INSTEAD, split the Gaucho Steak with fries and consumed a very affordable, incredible bottle of Italian Wine. Can't wait to go back and have an entire meal!! Incredible service, wonderful food, killer wine list.

Wow... after spending the day working on an airplane, it was so nice to sit down to a beautiful meal in a quaint and beautiful location. Living in Los Angeles, I have grown accustomed to dining in typically over priced, over hyped restaurants that are known more for the clientele they serve rather than the food they serve. CK's Real Food in Hailey, Idaho was a welcomed surprise. Located on Main street, among several local businesses that appear to be operating from venues that were once homes... CK's is no exception. If you blink, you may pass this wonderful little oasis. It is nestled in what looks like a house with a wonderful garden and patio. They have a FANTASTIC wine list (which is why, if I am rambling... 3 glasses later ~ I am ready for bed) and a wonderful menu that seems to change daily depending on what vegetable is available from the garden they have out back or what meat is currently supplied by local ranches. Our table shared an appetizer of flowering squash (grown on the property) stuffed with feta cheese and rolled into a batter then lightly fried. wow... I only indulged in a bite ~ but, it was amazing. For dinner I had the seared ahi with mango salsa salad. It was delightful. The ahi was seared to perfection and served with 3 different sauces for dipping (wasabi, soy, and one other?) It literally melted in my mouth. SO GOOD! Both of the gentlemen I dined with ordered the Rib-Eye. One exclaimed that it was simply the best steak he had ever eaten. And let me just say, this means a lot coming from him. I work/travel with him at least 10 days per month and he is a very finicki eater. We finished off our meal by sharing some of the vanilla ice cream. Which of course did not come from a tub. They make all of their ice creams from scratch on the premises. And plain vanilla ice cream never tasted so good! Ck's cuisine is inspired globally but, comes from local organic suppliers. This restaurant is a must if you find yourself in this sweet little town. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing service and amazing prices!

Great wine selection, awesome veggie meal (Veggie Madness, I think it's called) and nice ambiance when sitting outside in the summer. Hands down the best restaurant in Hailey. Only thing better in Ketchum is Vintage.

It may serve local organic and environmentally sustainable meals, and it may charge California prices for it, but when you are in Hailey, ID in the summer you are not dressing up to attend this true gem of a restaurant. We found this place and instantly fell in love with the menu which included local sustainable slow roasted pork shoulder, ahi tuna poke, Idaho trout and Alaskan Salmon. The wine selection featured lots of great California favourites as well. All in all a great place to dine when in Hailey.

On August 6, 2015, a friend and I ate dinner at CK's Real Food in Hailey, Idaho. CK's, which is open for dinner 7 days a week, is a fine dining, independently owned restaurant that claims to be part of the locavore/sustainability movement. It's been on my to-do list for a few years and I was excited to finally get a chance to try it, but it was very disappointing. The building itself and the lush garden that surrounds and envelopes it are stunning. The menu is pretty bare bones in that none of the descriptions capture the complexity of the dishes they are serving and often omit critical ingredients. For example, the pasta dish w/ garden vegetables sounded so minimalist that I assumed it would be very spartan and "clean", but the waitress told me that it was actually "very rich" and went on to explain the chef's heavy use of a lot of cheese in the dish. The first sign I was in for a rocky evening was being served room temperature tap water w/ no ice. The only other place I know that does this is Alavita, which I find equally pretentious. We shared an appetizer of Fried Squash Blossoms filled w/ Chevre, which was served on a schmear of curry flavored sauce. For $14, we received 3 small blossoms filled with the most pungent goat cheese I've ever had. It was so strong and musky that it could have served as bait for an animal in rutting season. It was all I could do to choke one blossom down. We shared a "salad" of Morel and Porcini Bread Pudding with Serrano and Dueling Shallots. This was a small bread pudding served on an even smaller bed of arugula for $16. The "dueling shallots" were two kinds of shallots that had been shaved on top of the arugula - no kidding. The house-made Serrano ham was so-so. We both got a $38 entree of Snake River Farms Kobe Flat Iron Steak with Garlic Potatoes, Tomato, Arugula and Blue Cheese Waygu Butter. This is not a misprint. Waygu is a type of Kobe beef, which makes it all the more confusing when CK's uses that term to describe a blue cheese butter. My steak was served room temperature at best. I wanted to send it back, but my friend convinced me that this effect was intentional. I still question that, but at the time, I went w/ it. I thought the steak was just o.k. in terms of flavor, but my friend thought it was pretty good. Either way, we both agree that Ruth's Chris serves a far superior steak and overall meal. The garlic potatoes were nothing more than two small potatoes that seem to have been rolled around in a pan of hot oil. Perhaps there was some garlic in there, but if so, I could not taste it. There was also a cold arugula salad on the plate w/ a vinaigrette and a slice of tomato. The salad was tasty enough, but I didn't expect a cold salad as part of the entree, much less plated next to my steak. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium well, which it was on one end, but it progressed to medium and towards the other end of the steak, it was rare. How it is even possible to cook a steak that way, I do not know. For dessert, we shared a $9 Blackberry and Idaho Stone Fruit (nectarine) Cobbler, with Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream. The cobbler is topped with the same Cornmeal Crumble, they put on their Panna Cotta, but that information was not included in the description or I would not have ordered it. Imagine the driest, grainiest crumble, devoid of any flavor or sweetening, topped over about a half cup of blackberries and half ripe nectarine, also devoid of any sweetening - that's what we got. The ice cream was fine, but it was the smallest scoop I've ever seen, more of a half scoop at best. Our waitress was not very knowledgeable about the menu and seemed irritated by my questions, but the two young teens who served, bussed and kept our glasses full, were delightful and the only reason I left a big tip. I notice on CK's FB page that during the slow season, they offer lots of entrees for 50% off. Even at half price, CK's Real Food is not a restaurant I can recommend. The place was full of older, wealthy diners, which I found confusing until I remembered from my experience of doing field work at The Boise Senior Center, that one's taste buds deteriorate with age. I guess that explains it...
