Packed on a Friday night. Good thing we had reservations. The bread was ho hum. So was the wine selection. I loved the eggplant carciofini. Nice garlic cream sauce. A little small though. The marinara sauce was delicious. And I agree the cheesecake is really good. The tiramisu has too much liqueur on it. This is a nice little place. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there though.

This is definitely a small restaurant. I am very thankful when I went, that it was not crowded. Cute little place and the waitress was very sweet. I went with a group of 4 people. My friend ordered the meatball sandwich and I ordered the Chicken Portobello sandwich and we decided to split it. The chicken portobello sandwich was average as well as the meatball sandwich. The meatballs were over bread crumbed. The sandwiches come with a side and we all got the Fire Roasted Tomato soup and it was really good. All in all the meal was average. Onto desert. The Tiramisu was good and I got Spumoni ice cream. It was an excellent value for the Spumoni. I got a big glass that had been pre-frozen and a cold spoon and the ice cream was more than a person could handle. I can't believe I said that. I am Italian and cook a lot of this stuff at home so I am not sure I will be heading back unless someone wanted to go there. I would definitely try it out as they have many more menu items than sandwiches and I don't want to discourage you. Overall, I had an average visit and have nothing bad to say about the place. I hope they do well and flourish.

A decent spot for Boise. The food was good, the people were really friendly, and the prices were good. We were there on a random Wednesday night and it was pretty busy.

Not bad, but not great. I had the TNT--a dressed up French dip. Unfortunately the bread was WAY too soft to support the fillings and disintegrated. The side of penne pesto salad was very good. But be warned--if you don't like your pasta al dente, don't get this! I'll probably go back only because it's close and I think it probably deserves another chance. The next time I'll try something Italian which is the chef's background.

We were really looking forward to dinner here after hearing rave reviews, but were disappointed. As a previous reviewer mentioned, bread was "ho hum." Alfredo sauce was bland and our pasta was clumped together and sticky. Steak and Eggplant Carciofini were fine and portions were really good. Maybe something went wrong, but our cheesecake was grainy and difficult to even finish. The highlight of the evening was the Portabello Formaggio, which was was phenomenal. They give you quite a bit of food for your money, so it's a good value. The staff were just lovely! And it sounds like there must be some dishes that are amazing, but we only found one. Probably good for lunch or dinner with friends, but not very romantic if you're on a date. Sad to say I won't drive across town to go there again.

First time eating here and in not so many words amazing. Everything is fresh and has the perfect authentic taste. From the bread to the desert everything was perfect. Best italian I've ever have had. Thank you so much!

LOVE THIS LITTLE PLACE!! Definitely one of my favorite places to eat. The tomato soup is my favorite, have to have it every time I go. I've never had a bad experience here, love the atmosphere and the food is always excellent.

We ate here on a Saturday night. After reading the reviews I expected it to be crowded. It is a small place but there were only a few people in there. I can see why. The food was average to below average. The minute we sat down the waitress began to "up-sell" us, she was relentless and I found it offensive. I would have a hard time going back because of that, but since the food was poor, I definitely won't go back.

This is a great little restaurant. Four of us had dinner for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend the Calamari appetizer. The eggplant dishes are exceptional. They are seasoned well and not over sauced. For the first time, we ate outside on the patio. While the table was a bit small, it was comfortable and conducive to good conversation. The service was outstanding. If you are looking for an Italian restaurant "off the beaten track" where you can sit back and enjoy a delicious meal, I highly recommend The Stuffed Olive.

The food was great, and generous for the price. But the service was horrible! We weren't acknowledged when we walked in, in fact the 3 staff members practically turned and ran while we stood there. It's a small place, and even though there were tables near the windows, we were seated in a small dark corner by the restrooms. There was only one other table back there, with an older couple seated there. Each of us had a different waitress, which seemed kind of odd. But worse yet, if one of the servers was back there, and the other table asked for something, the response was, "I'll let your server know." Even to the point coming into or leaving the area empty handed! No teamwork whatsoever. Both tables requested coffee at the end of the meal. The other couple say for about 10 minutes waiting, then the server for the other table brought the check, with no coffee. She apologized, and told the customer to keep waiting because she had already added the coffee to the check. When she finally returned, she forgot the cream. When we, and they, got cream, it was lumpy and spoiled. The servers both argued with us that the cream didn't expire for 20 more days so it was fine, despite the smell and texture. We had to argue with the server to have it removed from our bill. No manager in sight to resolve the issue. There are too many choices for Italian food in the area; we won't go back.

This is my favorite lunch stop in Eagle. The food is all freshly prepared and consistently yummy. I have not yet been disappointed with a meal. The salads are crisp and full of tasty toppings. The dressings are made in house and are hard to choose from because there are so many! I am a big fan of the pear and walnut salad with chicken. The sandwiches are also very good and are served on soft fresh bread. One of my favorite things is the roasted tomato soup. The service is usually reasonably quick and the staff is friendly. The restaurant itself is very small and so seating is limited. Outside there are a few patio seats which are very nice in more pleasant temperatures. The only drawback would be the price which is a little high for an every day lunch, but for a nice lunch out with say your boss or a date this is the place to go!

I used to go here all the time. My family and I liked it. That was until I left my coat there one evening and they donated it to charity!!! They even knew where I work, so they could've contacted me to let me know. Very poor customer service.

We quite enjoyed our first trip to the Stuffed Olive. It's a small place and was quite busy - the waitress recommended reservations, though we had none on this visit. I found the chicken stuffado to be quite excellent. The chicken was cooked to perfection - very moist and tender. My wife thought the Tuscan chicken salad was exceptional. Service was great. We did feel the wine selection was a bit limited. We will be returning often.

Excellent dinner, great service. We enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana and the truth tip. All very good. Quite sufficient quantities. Very fair prices. They offered vegetables - spinach and mushrooms - as an alternative to the pasta side. Thanks. Desserts were great, too! A smaller place, so it could be tight on a busy night. Give them a try!

We love Italian food. This place was good, not great. We didn't regret going there, but on the flip side we probably won't go back either. Again, not because the food was bad but there are a handful of Italian places that we like better so we would be more inclined to hit one of those first.

Excellent friendly staff. Food was great we will be back. Soup in Bread bowl was wonderful and fresh. Many reviews here say nothing bad but only give 4 stars or 3 stars. If you cannot find something to complain about it gets 5 stars. Unless your top chef, peoples taste differ, hardly a reason to lower a score. Anyway it's our first time and it's been here for at least 3 years. Continued success. It's worth trying, and we will be back.

On a recent trip, we found ourselves at this little restaurant twice.. Both times, loved the entrees and the other time the salads. Waiter was EXTREMELY pleasant and helpful, offering suggestions and making substitutions for dietary needs. Service was quick, price was reasonable. Definitely will return!

We recently moved to the Nampa area and are always looking for local restaurants to support rather than the big chains and this is a perfect example of why. Excellent food, service, and value. The desserts are to die for!! This is now a regular stop in our rotation. On our second visit, our waitress knew who we were and what we ordered previosly. Made us feel as if we were special guests.

Ordered take-out from this lovely little restaurant this weekend, tomato soup was fabulous, the Tuscan penne was also mouth watering. I haven't eaten in the restaurant so I can't review that but the food was amazing. Very pleased! Definitely going back.

My first time experience was "to go." I had the Tri Tip Dip with sauteed portobella mushrooms on toasted baguette. The baguette was both crispy and warm. The tri-tip was lean and tender, the A'Ju was delicious and finally the added sauteed portobella mushrooms really added a lot of great flavor. Overall, this was one very delicious sandwich which lasted very little time in my hands! I'll be back for more ... Added bonus: They have motorcross / motorcycle mags in the ToGo waiting area! ;-)

Call ahead to make sure they enough staff on hand to provide adequate service. We went this week and one wait-person was trying to do it all, which resulted in poor service. Not her fault as she was slammed, but the customers had to deal with this as well. In addition, some of our food was under-cooked.

This is a nice, small restaurant. We went at 2:00 p.m. on the Monday after Christmas. There were only 3 parties seated, which isn't unusual for this time of day. There was 1 waitress and one chef (I think). Our waitress was lovely. She was gracious, helpful, and attentive even though there was one couple that was mostly monopolizing her time, asking a lot of detailed questions and switching tables mid-meal (?). They constantly were waving her over but she handled it well and managed to meet our needs and the other large party (6-8) very well. My companion ordered the meatball sandwich and I ordered the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich. We overheard the waitress mention how much she liked the soup of the day, a grilled tomato soup. As it was cold outside, we both ordered the soup. We were so glad we did. The soup was outstanding! The soup was clearly homemade, using very fresh ingredients. I think the tomatoes are roasted or charbroiled as there were tiny bits of roasted tomato in the pureed soup. My companion detected hints of roasted red pepper sweetness, and there was clearly a don't-worry-about-counting-calories amount of cream. The soup is served in a very small bowl with a toasted garlic baguette slice on top. It was stupendous. Had I known how delicious it was, I would have skipped the sandwich and had a big bowl of soup. As it was, I finished the soup far before I finished the sandwich and I just wished I had more. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. It included roasted peppers, feta, crisp red onion, and artichoke hearts on a sandwich roll. It was lovely, and just the right amount of food. I also had hot tea, which was lovely. The waitress offered 4 different varieties including lemon, earl grey, and green tea. I forget the 4th option. The Meyer lemon tea was by Stash and was yummy though I wished the water were a touch hotter as it had cooled significantly by the end of the meal. The waitress did offer more hot water so really it's my own fault I didn't take her up on it. My companion had the meatball sandwich. He said it was yummy. The meat was finely ground and well seasoned. There was exactly the right amount of homemade (!) marinara sauce. My companion rarely brings home leftovers but definitely asked for a to-go box for the remainder. Between the sandwich and soup, there was plenty of food. The food is served on orange and gold fiesta ware, which seemed a bit odd since this is an Italian restaurant, but for me it was a quirky detail that seemed charming. There are italian posters decorating the walls. The restaurant is on the small side but seemed very comfortable with only 3 parties being served on a late Monday afternoon. There is one co-ed restroom. For gatherings, there is an alcove sort of area near the restroom which seated a big party of 6-8. If the Stuffed Olive ever moves to a larger location, I recommend a separate room for large parties

Came back to Boise for a visit. A visit wouldn't be complete without a "fix" from the Stuffed Olive. My new favorite: The egglant sandwich. Fresh egglant, not frozen or mushy. Grilled portabella mushroom. Melted povalone cheese. Fresh spinach. Whole roasted garlic cloves (yum). All served on a fresh warm toasted roll. But, wait. Hold on. They had a special that day. It was like a saltenbocca, but maybe a little better. Thin slices of pork loin, with cheese melted with a sage butter in a very delicate sauce. All I can say is good thing they don't have that special every day or I would be making more frquent trips to Boise from the Bay Area. Thanks Jan and Bill, for the consistantly good food.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
