Love the cabbage rolls and crepes so much that I have not got a chance to try anything else!

Authentic and delicious. Reasonable prices for the quality. Menu specials change often and are consistently excellent. Music on Friday or Saturday is the best jazz in the Treasure Valley featuring the great Pamela DeMarche.

What a treat! Why did it take so long for us to try this restaurant? We LOVED it! Great beer, incredible food, and even a TV so we could watch Boise State while we enjoy our Stroganoff. The delicate interplay of flavors and the perfect selections - all of which were even better than we'd hoped. Bring your friends and get ready for a wonderful evening!

Just ate dinner there with friends. Food was amazing!! Soups, salads and meals were great! Highly recommend this restaurant. Worst thing was the small wine pour. Too small for price. Pour too small. Sad for sure

The service was warm and right in line with the homestyle dishes. The owner served us, his son was in the back doing homework, and his wife was in the kitchen. It felt very homey and local, but still classy and upscale with eclectic art decorating the tables and walls. The food was what really stood out. We tried the borscht, the chicken crepes, the cabbage rolls, and the meat dumplings. The generous portions had a beautiful presentation with tasty sauces drizzled over the top. I really enjoyed all of the dishes. Everything was well flavored without being over the top. My standout favorite was the meat dumplings. It is going to be very difficult on my next visit to decide whether to order those again or try something new off of the menu full of appealing options. It is a great place to take adventurous eaters alongside those who have a smaller comfort zone. The adventurers will enjoy the authentic foreign taste experience, while the less adventurous will appreciate the good comfort food. For 2 adults ordering two starters and two entrees the bill was under $50. I thought it was very reasonable considering the atmosphere, and the fresh, high quality ingredients that went into the meal. I am already planning a return visit and thinking about cool I can take here. We will definitely be bringing out of town guests and friends we wish to impress with our cultured palate. Give it a try!

I am updating my review exactly a year from my original. First of all I'm really happy to see the same high quality food and friendly owners. The beet salad was delicious, and the goat cheese on it was perfectly creamy. One person had the lamb shank and she was able to lift the bone out with two fingers. She said the meat was seasoned perfectly. I love that the owners always take the time to talk to the customers. We received a great recommendation for a bottle of wine. The overall price was very reasonable for a nice bistro type environment. This is a definite 'must go' recommendation. I'm upping my 4 to a 5!

We decided to check this restaurant out to try something new. Loved the art, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The menu isn't huge but there are good options. It's obvious they put a lot of care into the food. We tried the shrimp for a starter, then steak and cabbage rolls. The shrimp was really delicious. I love the cabbage rolls. The steak could have been a better cut but was still good. We got cake for dessert and really enjoyed it too.

Took the family to dinner to unwind at the end of the week. Had an amazing evening. The staff was very engaged and welcoming, even to our kids. There was a delightful small band playing all evening that added a great elelment to our experience. But the best part was the food. We had a beet salad, the meat dumplings, lamb chops and the left handed prawns with rissoto. They were all inspired dishes, creative, rich and delicious. We can't wait to go back.

This place has it all. It is very clean, cool atmosphere, the customer service is excellent. The food is killer. The beer is the bomb. Go try this place.

The lamb shank was fall off the bone tender and better than Australia. It could have been enough for 2. My wife had flank steak and loved it.

Did you ever see a restaurant from the outside and you weren't sure if you should go in but you couldn't deny your curiosity? Don't be afraid go inside and be greeted by a charming wife and husband who have created a chique, sophisticated, and international encounter yet at the same time a homey and unpretentious atmosphere with hearty and tasty food, which is straight out of an Eastern European bistro. The beer and wine are select and well chosen. I had a Baltic beer which stands up to any American microbrew. The menu covers not only Russian cuisine but also German influences as well. Don't feel nervous to engage your host in conversation. He comes from Sochi Russia and is a former history teacher. Step into another continent right in the heart of Eagle, Idaho. Open your mind and your palette. Just relax and enjoy the atmosphere...interesting art, a glass of wine, and an eclectic crowd. These are my thoughts and feelings after my experience at a night out at Rendezvous. We will be back!

We loved the Russian Bear. When we found out they moved we gladly followed them to their new location. It was a Friday night 7:00 and the place was empty. We had GREAT service being the only ones in there. The food was definitely not the same as it was at their previous resturaunt . The menu was on overload. We ordered some of our favs from before...so not the same! This place was a wine bar an art gallery and a resturaunt with no focus. This place is seriously having an identity crisis. Another couple came in as we were finishing up and was looking at the art that was hanging on the walls and leaning over our table to see the one hung over our table. Excuese me! At that point we left our half pick over plates, paid their now hiked up prices and booked it out of there. I sure hope they can get it together! However, I'm not going back to find out.
