Best Sushi in Boise! The fish is incredibly fresh and tasty. Their all-you-can-eat menu is also excellent. Not only including a great variety of sushi you can also get several non-sushi items such as gyoza, tempura and miso. I think this will become my sushi restaurant of choice from now on.

Sushi is okay. Nothing too write home about but about what I expected for Boise. The all you can eat special is good if you get exactly what you want and don't have left overs. I got nigiri because they don't offer sashimi and was charged for not eating the rice...lame. Will say the seaweed salad is great!

Stopped by here with my family today. Probably one of the best place in downtown Boise area. Servers were very friendly. Owners looked pretty young, thus very enthusiastic. I would highly recommend this place. Very fresh and clean taste.

Stopped by here yesterday to fill up with AYCE for $25 before the Harry Potter premier. Everything tasted ok. The yellow tail and scallop nigiri was not flown in that day for sure. The only thing that tasted strange was the veggie roll because the soy paper tasted stale / old. This place is great for its proximity to the movie theater and has pictures of all their movie rolls. Try the 007, twilight (I didn't like it, but other people were fans), dark night, and anger management roll. Jalapenos were good-- they weren't rolled in massive amounts of dough and deep fried like fast food places. Octopus salad was spongy and not very fresh. Splits checks and didn't automatically include 18% gratuity for large groups, even thought the serving staff easily deserved it.

Definitely worth your time. The servings are big; did the movie rolls and went with Anger Management, the Man on Fire is really good too. No need for the all you can eat, since one roll is big enough to fill you up unless you have been starving yourself all day.

If you like all you can eat sushi, this is the place for you. You will get delicious, decorative sushi that is very fresh for a great deal. You will come out full and satisfied.

  • L B.

Well besides the menu being somewhat overwhelming this place was great. The sushi rolls were large, fish was fresh and the service great! Their movie themed menu truly had a little bit of everything. I highly recommend the Man on Fire, and when they ask... you answer, "yes! I want it set on fire!" ;)

Came here for the dinner and a movie deal. My husband ordered the "Jaws" roll and hasn't stopped talking about it. Mine was tasty too, just can't remember the catchy movie theme name. I would like to come back for the all you can eat sushi dinner. This place has good service, great sushi...wha'ts not to like?

Great selection. Good service. All you can eat. The holy trinity of restaurants. The reason it's not getting 5 stars is because I wanted twister to be part of the all you can eat menu. Hope they get this review and shoot for the for 5th star next time I'm there ;)

I sort of wanted this to be more than it was. We just finished a great hike, and then "saved" these two women who were "lost" on 8th street (really they were not so bright and lazy), but all that rescuing and exercise made us hungry. So all you can eat sushi sounded like a fine idea! My hubby got a lot of sushi on all you can eat (duh, the point right?), and it was OK, but he said he had to force himself to get his money worth. I originally started out with all you can eat, but after my very mediocre one roll, I backtracked, and they allowed me. So that was very nice of them! The service was prompt and smiled a lot. We sat at the bar and were basically in and out in no time. For one order of all you can eat, and one roll, no drinks, the bill equaled $42.00 without tip. They advertise a 5% discount for students on weekdays. The hubby threw in his student ID when we were paying, but the waitress said it only applies on weekdays. I don't know, last time I checked, Friday is a weekday! But whatever, we didn't argue. I had been allowed to get out of my all you can eat contract.

Food was good, but overpriced. Our waitress was pretty rude so that kind of ruined it for me.

Good Stuff - Being from San Francisco and have visited Japan this is a good place. Its not a SF or LA 4 star but for Boise its top! I really like the 'All you can eat' its a great deal and the chefs are knowledgeable. Check it out.

Yoitomo makes some pretty good sushi. If you're not into raw fish/sushi, they do have chicken katsu, ramen, yakisoba, udon, and curry. The prices are a little steep for my large stomach, but the atmosphere is nice and so is the service.

Great all you can eat sushi place!! Tons to choose from and great sushi. Not terribly expensive for AYCE! Give it try, before 9:30pm, if you want AYCE sushi. (Tina) Don't hate cuz you're not so smart, would you go to a chinese buffet 15 minutes before they close? NO!! I thought it was great that they had special rolls that were included in the AYCE also. I didn't have a roll I didn't like. The service was spot on and the location and decor was awesome!!

I have NEVER had sushi so quickly in my life. That is a good thing. Quirky menu with a random movie theme, and a lot of deep fried rolls... what is up with deep frying? Clean, doesn't smell bad, good service and what, is that a slice of orange at the end of the meal?... Yes please! One concern, if you have read my yelp of the "cat food spicy tuna roll" from Happy Fish... then you know I like my Spicy Tuna in one piece. Is this a cheap way to cut cost people? NO MORE GROUND UP TUNA...ewwhh. But, it was not horrible, just not my fav.

We just moved to Boise from a smaller town so maybe we're easily impressed - but this was the quickest meal out ever, and still delicious. We sat down at 6:30 and had sushi in front of us by 6:35. And that was even including a deep fried roll! We had the spicy tuna roll, the Ten-Ten and yellow tail nigiri. All were very tastey. Staff was quick and helpful, especially since 5 different people waited on us by the end of the meal. Will definitely be going back.

  • Justin P.

I love the movie themed menu. We had an "Oceans Eleven Roll" which was excellent. Sitting at the bar and watching the guys make sushi was a lot of fun too. My wife tried the Orion (think Bud Light), and I had a Koshihikari (rice beer) and both were very good, light crisp beers. It's just across the street from a (the theater, so we went in 45 minutes before our show started and got out with plenty of time to spare. We will come back soon, with friends.

WE WALKED OUT!!!! Horrible place. We waited 30 min for a table and watched them sit people ahead of us who had only waited a few minutes. After sitting at the table for 1 hour we asked the waitress where our order was, she had ignored us after taking our order. Not only did they lose our order but they gave it to someone else without noticing! Wow, what awful service. My advice, cut your losses and go somewhere else. Sushi places are "a dime a dozen" and this one is not worth it.

    (1)
  • Emily S.

Excellent service. Waitress was really sweet and nice. Sushi rolls were way too big. The individual pieces were at least four bites worth each. That's not sushi. No ginger or wasabi on my plate (had to go ask for it). No soy sauce dish, had to ask. Overall meh.

All you can eat lunch was a pretty good deal. Fresh and tasty salmon. Huge selection to choose from. Warning - the crab I had in two rolls was actually Krab (imitation crab). Chewy and made the two rolls rather unappetizing. Servers were very nice and all items cane out quickly. Right in the heart of downtown Boise so limited parking but worth a little walk. I'll be back, but am now aware to avoid anything on the menu that lists"crab" as its not true crab meat. I guess they have to cut somewhere if they are offering all you can eat sushi for $18 (lunch).

Woooooo. Best all you can eat sushi in Boise. The all you can eat is such a great deal especially if you do it at lunch. Great rolls and service.

  • Sylvia U.

I went there for a friend's birthday dinner and was very pleasantly surprised. I have eaten some very simple sushi before and liked it, but don't really like to eat just sushi for dinner. Then I saw that they have deep fried rolls on their menu and decided to give that a try. It was absolutely delicious! I definitely want to go back for more now! If you're going with a group of people be sure to make a reservation as the place is a bit on the small side.

Place has a good all your can eat menu. It includes appetizers such as Gyoza, Tempura Shrimp, Edamame, Miso soup, etc. For the value it is decent sushi. Wait staff has always been great there. A lot of the rolls taste the same but you can't complain. Their Nigiri is just ok for me, flavorless. The place needs a little cleaning. The bathrooms are dirty and when you walk through the restaurant, your shoes stick to the carpet.

    (3)
  • John M.

Not very good sushi. Came in wanting to give this place a try but the service was very slow and the sushi was extremely bland. Couldn't taste anything but the sauce. Had to stop eating because it wasn't worth stuffing myself on the almost tasteless sushi. After the meal I can say that I would not go back.

I'm a total poke fan so ordered the Special Poke and was super pleasantly surprised when I got the platter of amazing fresh fish! See pic. A good deal for dinner with miso soup and salad. The corner restaurant borders on a walk street of other restaurants and bars and the Edwards theatre. Red walls and an Asian cook along with paper Japanese fans and lanterns and loads of Japanese posters make it a very Asian flavored place. Nice young atmosphere. The poke prep was the most interesting to me as I'm from Hawaii and poke is a staple. I did miss the Hawaiian flavorings though.

  • Seth R.

Service was HORRIBLE. Right from the start, awful. Food has gone way downhill (fake crab in everything) and is poor in taste as well as presentation. Won't be going back. I wish they would have just closed this place and moved Noodle Korea here.

  • Sarah S.

Not too bad if you're in a sushi mood and happen to be downtown. It is on the expensive side as far as sushi goes here...but the quality almost is worth it. That said, the downside is the often slow service. The servers are generally polite, and the food decent. Not the best sushi I've had, but not the worst either.

    (3)
  • M K.

Have been here several times...Food is really great but service is delayed as the restaurant is always under staffed...becomes frustrating to wait...

This was amazing. My husband and I got the all you can eat special. We had: salad, egg rolls, spider roll, golden California, anger management, French kiss, and twister, and he got green tea ice cream for dessert. We thought everything was great. My favorites were the twister and French kiss, his were the anger management and French kiss. We would love to return for the food! The service matched the food. I am super pleased!

I'm from LA, and it's not to bad. My dad got sick from the fish. I've had better though. This would probably be the 3rd or 4th place I'd go to again.

  • Paul B.

I'd like to give it 3.5 stars, but that's not an option. We did the all you can eat, and we did just that. The rolls were all good, nothing really wrong here. The nigiri, however, was a little suspect. Hamachi did not look like any hamachi I have ever seen before. The salmon was ok, but the rest was pretty weak. Their Gyoza and jalapeño apps were good also. We definitely got our money's worth, but if steer clear of the nigiri....at least the hamachi

Love this place! Always super nice service and great sushi. I alway get the Alaska roll, no sesame, add thin sliced lemon on top. It's a game changer.

This is my new favorite sushi place in Boise. They feature a huge selection of innovative and unique rolls, many with a movie theme. My favorites are Dante's Inferno (new and very spicy), Man on Fire, Pearl Harbor, and the Red Dragon. Their more conventional rolls and nigiri sushi are great too. The all-you-can-eat special is a great deal because it not only includes sushi, but also many other Japanese favorites like miso soup, seaweed salad, edamame, gyoza, and my favorite: jalapeño bombs. The variety and quality make this my "go to" sushi option in Boise. There is something on the menu for both sushi veterans and rookies.

  • Victoria P.

Wow! first time trying it out and it was excellent! Incredible selection of amazing sushi! Great service (we sat at the bar) and had an incredible time. I highly recommend the all you can eat option with a group of people as it allows you to try all their incredible variety!

Where to start!? Warm beer. Didn't have plates. Slow service but it's understandable since it was packed for Valentine's Day but still, we waited for about an hour or more for our food. Our waitress was a little rude and had a bit of an attitude problem but again, it was a busy night. Still not an excuse to not smile and treat your customers with respect. Didn't ask if we wanted an appetizer with our all you can eat meal or for refills. Small tables. The sushi wasn't bad nor great but the whole experience was a little off because of the service we received . Two stars sorry!

  • Matthew T.

Tasty sushi and good prices for all you can eat sushi for kids. I also liked that appetizers are included as part of the all you can eat price. However, service is so slow. 1 hr 45 minutes sitting here and we've only received a third of our order.

Love the eel sushi! Good sushi in general, for Boise. Very nice atmosphere. All you can eat is a good deal!

Updated review--I went there recently and found their food to be good sushi but not great. It's worth going to if you want a lot at a decent price.

    (3)
  • Marie J.

Meh. Went for all you can eat sushi, would have been decent if they wouldn't put fake crab (not labeled as such) in everything. Service was ok, food was ok (except the "crab"), prices were ok.

We quickly discovered the worst sushi imaginable after arriving in Boise. Reading the reviews was most amusing..."best west of the Mississippi"? LOL!! We thought we might try it because it had four "stars", but the whole meal was a laugh. My Japanese friend wanted to try the Pearl Harbor Roll just because she was so offended by the name. It bombed too, and I was thoroughly embarrassed and was FAR beyond offended. The fish was cut too thin. There was no vinegar in the rice, which made it extremely bland. Normally, each fish has a distinct flavor, but none of it had any flavor and if I closed my eyes, I couldn't tell the difference from one to the other, and I have a VERY experienced palette when it comes to Japanese food. I could very easily deduce that no one working at that restaurant has probably studied proper sushi making in Japan. Maybe they changed planes there when coming to the US, but that's all. When I was going to order one particular roll (on a dare from my Japanese friend), the waitress was kind enough to tell us "I wouldn't recommend that." I'm grateful for her honesty. It's such a shame that people will go to this restaurant and think they are eating sushi. There is a vague resemblance (not the rolls, just the nigiri), but that's were all similarities end. Flavorless fish cut incorrectly, served on rice that was not prepared properly, and then drowned in sauces that should never cross the threshold of a "Japanese" restaurant. We were both so disappointed the well meaning customers would walk away with the wrong impression what a beautiful food sushi can actually be. To make matters worse, we were told that because we were ordering off of the "all you can eat" menu (first mistake), we would be charged if we didn't eat anything. I felt like I was taken hostage. We could only eat a couple of pieces of the last two rolls, not because we ordered too much and we were full, but because the taste was so disgusting and we didn't want to risk getting sick. So we had no choice but to leave the extra $10 on the bill for the left-over food, which I thought was robbery to begin with. $70 for an awful experience!! An hour after the meal I'm sitting in my hotel writing this review and have begin getting a headache. I hope it stops at that and I don't end up with dysentery. The owners of this restaurant should be ashamed of themselves for trying to pass this off to unknowing customers as being Japanese. They should go to Japan once and spend a few months learning how to make it correctly. Not that the management could read it, but even the signs on the wall written in Japanese were incorrect and irrelevant to what was being served!! Our waitressed sensed our displeasure, and didn't even come back to the table after she dropped off the bill. I wasn't mad at her, just the owners and the chefs.

    (1)
  • Rach G.

Mostly great service. One of the waitresses is really rude but the others are nice. Awesome prices and great selection. Appetizers are included with the all you can eat pricing.

  • Jay J.

The worst customer service ever! We walked in and put our name in for the next available table and was told it would be 10 minutes. No problem. As we were. Waiting another couple came in and was seated before us. After we told them about the mix up we were seated. We got our order in and proceeded to sit there for a hour before we finally had to flag down a hostess and ask about out rolls. She came back and told us she couldn't find our order. We just got up and left. Not once did anyone come an check on us as we sat there waiting. I will never go back nor will I ever send anyone there.

My wife and I agree that this is currently the best AYCE sushi place in Boise. One of the things we like most is that there is an excellent selection of appetizers that are available when you do AYCE. The tempura, the miso, the octopus salad, and the jalapeno bombs are just outstanding. I'll agree that there is a little lack in diversity in the roll selection compared to, say, Fujiyama. But you're bound to find a few favorites and with all of the appetizers and nigiri sushi, you'll have no trouble getting full. The wait staff here are outstanding and the sushi chefs are fast. We never experienced a long wait for an order.

If you're right Scott H., then you're justifying that a restaurant's service can end before hours. A constructive criticism and second chance led me back to Yoitomo- I assumed this to be an American fusion franchise but when personally greeted by the owner/chef I was pleased to discover I was mistaken. I see a hardworking & honest owner who proved to be genuinely concerned about his individual customer experience but also the quality of his food. Service was very accommodating and impressive to say the least. There is a huge variety of rolls that suits even the pickiest sushi goer - with a meat selection from chicken to scallop on the menu. 007 came out on top to be my absolute favorite roll with spicy scallop and mild crunch. The nigiri proved to be a surprise group favorite and cannot be resisted by even the "roll addict" - There's something much more intimate and tasteful when eating nigiri- it's a developing taste that has a buttery texture when you sink your teeth into the cold fish & ends with a complimentary bed of warm toasty rice. I would recommend Kenny's restaurant to movie goers, steelhead fans & anyone who enjoys copious amounts of AYCE sushi! Some of the AYCE sushi places lack quality when they give you quantity- Yoitomo gives you both ;)

  • Gus P.

Let's be clear. If you enjoy extremely thin sliced fish, extra rice, and flavorless rolls which all taste the same... then this is the restaurant for you. I have never experienced such a cost cutting chain-like sushi bar in boise, or anywhere for that matter. Save your money for a sushi bar that permits patrons to order more than one hamachi or unagi on their "all you can eat menu." Not to mention the total lack of yellowtail from every roll they create. Loved the location by the way!

  • Holland V.

I am from California, eat sushi regularly & know what good sushi is. Yoitomo was AWFUL. We ordered all you can eat consisting of two rolls and 6 nigiri pieces to start out. When it got to our table I immediately knew I would not be eating the nigiri. It looked so awful, almost like fake fish. When I went to pick up the nigiri it literally made me sick. The quality of fish was sooooo bad. I asked for the manager and told her we would not be eating our food. NEVER GOING BACK.

  • Patty B.

I thought this sushi place was decent. The taste of the rolls were good and I liked their movie themed specialty rolls. The only problem I had was their rice was too sticky and it stuck to the plate which made it hard to pick up with chopsticks. I really liked the decor and the restaurant was nice and clean. The service was okay. I liked how friendly the sushi chefs were. I'd like to come back to do their all-you-eat menu which seems like a really good deal. 17.99 for lunch and 24.99 for dinner I believe and is available from opening to 2pm and from 5pm to closing.

  • Sheila W.

Tasty sushi, good vibes, great service-but it's a little pricey. I'll stay away from the "on-fire" rolls in the future, as I've tried them twice and got left with an overpowering alcohol smell mixed with burnt fish both times. I'm a fan of the after-dinner orange, and I still want to try their fruity roll. I'll be back-but Shige, I just can't quit you.

I really wanted to love this place, but I didn't. I just moved here from LA so this was my first sushi experience in boise, and I was not impressed! I did keep in mind though that I have been introduced to fresher fish and more authentic sushi due to where I'm from. Right when I opened my menu I was overwhelmed bc there was just so much going on. WAY too many rolls! It took me forever to figure out what I wanted, especially bc alot of the rolls seemed the same. I really didn't like how they had imitation krab. It almost made me leave the restaurant all together. Most of the rolls just had too much stuff in them, like cream cheese and stuff. Even my spicy tuna roll had a bunch of stuff in it that I wasn't expecting. A lot of the rolls also fell apart easily, which was frustrating. Overall, I wouldn't come here again, and I wouldn't recommend it. My sushi hunt continues!

  • Mazal S.

came again for the all you can eat buffet in January 2013. every thing I got was watered down version of sushi rolls. Terribly disappointed. previously, I gave this place a 4 star review. Lowered to two stars. food got Americanized and standards were lowered. Before every roll had a unique flavor and now they are made from overcooked rice, slathered with mayo and some avocado to drown any taste to it. Please bring back the previous chef or previous menu. please

    (2)
  • Aaron T.

The presentation was good. The service was good. The spicy tuna roll was good, however why are they so skimpy on the fish???? My rolls had a lot of filler in it. There was more rice, veggies and cream cheese than fish. Be prepared to pay for parking because there is no free parking around. Not that parking is expensive at all as it is very cheap, but just annoying. Imitation crab sucks. This may be a good place for a new sushi person wanting to try it, but not for someone use to good sushi. If they prided an actual bite of fish and didnt use imitation crab I would go back to this place and give it more stars.

    (2)
  • David F.

The quality is good but the prices are expensive. I guess if you are into all you can eat, the value is there. I was not psyched about the cutesy movie themed names for their rolls. This was distracting. The service was a little distracted and scattered. I will probably go back and give them another chance.

Honestly, I don't like sushi, but my sister is in love with it. Normally she drags me to the other sushi places around Boise and I'm stuck eating teriyaki chicken in some form or another. I really hate going because I'm tried of always having to eat that. However, its not like that at Yoitomo. I was happily amazed at the massive menu. The sushi was beyond extensive, it has a little of everything, which is good because my sister can't eat spicy food, so normally she can only enjoy certain rolls, or has to customize them, and they come out wrong. But besides the striking amount of sushi that they have, they also have other, non sea food options! I love their appetizers, the egg rolls and seaweed salad are to good to be true; they have this ramen that is to die for, along with my favorite, Don Katsu. The Don Katsu even comes in a roll form so when we go for all you can eat, I just keep ordering that one and the chicken Katsu. And the appetizers are also all you can eat when you get that....I really think I like this place to much, I've been there twice this week and find myself wanting the egg rolls all day long.... Also, I know it doesn't matter to some people, but it does to me; the staff there seems genuinely friendly and attentive, and the chef's are incredibly fast, even with the non-sushi food. Service is quick, the food comes out fast and perfect. It is really worth a trip in. I know you'll enjoy it. Two thumbs up! 5 stars! A+ I can't wait to go back :)

Fast, fresh, lean steak meat. Crisp vegetables including broccoli and carrots and squash (I think) Everything a teriyaki joint should be. Plus free wifi.

  • Michael S.

Disappointed. Yoitomo is one of the few places in Boise that offer all-you-can-eat but it limits you to one order of Yellowtail (Hamachi) and one order of Fresh Water Eel (Unagi) per person. Also the "eel" (aka unagi) sauce they put on some of their rolls is a bit over-powering than most places. The rolls would taste better without it. What really irked me was when I received my second order of nigiri. The size of the rice under each piece of fish grew to almost double the amount. Lastly, what kind of sushi joint doesn't have hand rolls on the menu?

  • Meghan D.

I really like sushi. I really like this place. Mmm especially the Spicy Mexican Crunch...oh lordy it was good. In my opinion, it was super yummy! If you are going to take sushi super seriously though, I wouldnt go. It is not your typical sushi place...like the atmosphere almost reminded me of a coffee shop. Kinda...hipster. Oh gosh I cant wait to go again. I am salivating just thinking about it.

  • Stephanie D.

I had the supreme veggie roll here and was HIGHLY disappointed. The pieces were GIANT and not in a good way. The chef had just put so much spring mix in the center that it made the pieces difficult to eat. Everything fell apart when picking a piece up because it was rolled so loosely. The only flavor came from the gobo and cream cheese... I like sushi places that flavor their rice, because when your roll is pretty much only filled with veggies (vegetarian here, no fish), it needs a little kick of flavor. Yoi Tomo does not do that and I will not be back, especially considering their high prices and the overall flaws in the construction of their rolls.

  • Kyle M.

This is my #1 choice for sushi in the valley. Most places will just pack on the rice but, this place gives you more fish that rice which is awesome. I usually do the all you can eat for sushi, which is an amazing deal in its self. Also, the ladies that serve here are spectacular. I am a server myself, and the teamwork they use on the floor is exactly what you look in a serving staff. Never have had any problems with this place and I have been here more 15+ times.

  • Rebecca W.

I moved to Boise this summer and hadn't found a favorite sushi spot yet...but now I have!"All you can Eat Sushi" would usually have me running for the door because to me that usually means low quality and I don't eat sushi unless it's fresh and amazing. I found out about this place because I happened to randomly meet the owner and after meeting him and his wife I knew their restaurant was probably going to be great. The atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired...its on the casual side and could be nicer, I particularly dislike any business with a flashing 'open' sign, but don't let those things scare you away because if you go in for their all you can eat lunch for $17 you will most likely leave a fan. I have been back once since discovering this a few weeks ago and I will definitely be back.

Our server was not the greatest in regards to serving. Our drinks were refilled by another server and our plates were also cleared, after sitting quite a while, by another server. The sushi was delicious but was a little light on protein. However, the sushi chef was the most helpful though out our meal as most of our orders were taken by them. Will be back back not because our server was exceptional. Good prices and tasty rolls.

Went for dinner there. $25 AYCE and its the best in Boise period. Fresh fish and rolls are incredible. The chef is excellent and does amazing mix with sauces if you sit at the bar. Appetizers were really great and combination with sauces really added taste. I love sushi and I'm used to Cali sushi places but this was just as good and even better for some specialty rolls. Excellent choice can't go wrong.

This was our 15-year old son's first sushi bar outing and he is now an enthusiast! We opted for the all-you-can-eat sushi bar. The menu is extensive and includes appetizers and dessert. Understandably, sashimi is the only thing that is excluded from the AYCE menu. In addition to the basic California Roll, the 3 of us had specialty rolls named Anger Management, French Kiss, The Rock, 007, Full Monty, Zato-Ichi, Incredible Hulk, and G. I. Joe. We sipped hot, loose green tea with toasted brown rice and finished up with ice cream: mango for me and strawberry for the guys. The sushi was fresh, delicious, and presented well. The 2 young ladies who took our orders were attentive, friendly, and there were no noticeable lulls between taking new sushi orders. The Anger Management and French Kiss specialties were our favorites!

There's always other fish in the sea... But how long will they last now that this place is in town?! Our party of three ate over half of the specialty rolls, I think the anger management was a good choice. I ate about 10 hotate (scallop) nigiri. They are sweet scallops in a spicy sauce mini sized gunkanmaki. The spicy tuna was too sweet (made with Mae ploy?) it wasn't our favorite. I like the jalapeño bombs and spider roll. The soft shell crab was crunchy and tasty. A couple bad things, my hamachi had a large bone in it. Nothing ruins sushi like a fish bone. Very sad. The tea was 1.75 each, although bottomless, I was hoping it would have been free. Former pretty major, latter was pretty minor. Also, most of the specialty rolls have fried shrimp in it, they could have more variety in the filling. The price is reasonable and the food quality is good. I like the places that specialize in ayce sushi and not on hot and cold food. Usually they have more types of sushi.

Rice, rice, rice. I think you can see where this is going. I've eaten at a lot of sushi places, especially being originally from Seattle, but I've never been to a sushi restaurant that puts so much rice on a roll! And expects you to eat all of the rice otherwise they get mad! I'd say they put at least double the amount of rice in a roll I'm used to see. I come to sushi to eat and taste fish, not rice. My other complaint is the over use of imitation crab. If your going to use fake crab, at least note that its not real on the menu (crab with a K anyone?)! And please, don't put fake crab AND soft shelled crab in a spider roll just to make it look bigger! Overall, the food didn't taste that bad but it wasn't anywhere close to being great. The best thing about this place was our friendly waitress. Unfortunately, my search for a good sushi restaurant here in Boise continues.

Verdicts in and Yoitomo is guilty of fast, fresh, delicious sushi and a clean, open Asian atmosphere with friendly and efficient service. Loved the "Man on fire" roll wrapped with soy paper. If you love sushi put this on the top of your list to try.

After a bad experience in another city with an all-you-can eat sushi place, I arrived at Yoitomo by no choice of my own-work associate was given the unconditional locale selection for lunch. I was highly skeptical at first so for me to give 5 stars on the first visit was pretty much impossible, so this is a very good rating. Now, if I could have soaked in an onsen for a while and been provided with my own personal geisha girl . . . so you see where I'm going with this. The green tea served in an old world pot was a good sign. Miso and salad . . .so far, very good and measures up to ala carte sushi places. Next, an appetizer of tempura shrimp . . .again, very good and not over the top with batter. The rolls were a little on the small side, but that's not a big deal when you can order more at no extra cost. Same thing with the shashimi, but unlike most other all-you-can-eat places, they didn't try filling you up on large quantities of rice. Pleasantly surprised and I recommend this place if you are hungry and have a sushi craving.

  • Brian G.

Definitely worth your time. The servings are big; did the movie rolls and went with Anger Management, the Man on Fire is really good too. No need for the all you can eat, since one roll is big enough to fill you up unless you have been starving yourself all day.

Good Stuff - Being from San Francisco and have visited Japan this is a good place. Its not a SF or LA 4 star but for Boise its top! I really like the 'All you can eat' its a great deal and the chefs are knowledgeable. Check it out.

Went to Yoitomo for all you can eat sushi for $24.99. I thought this was a little pricey at first, but 5 appetizers and a dozen specialty rolls later I changed my mind. Our waitress was very sweet and seemed to come by like clockwork as soon as we finished our plates, ready to take our next order. The deep fried rolls were amazing. One that stands out is the "Mission Impossible". Deep fried roll with tuna and a spicy sauce on top. Wow! So yummy. The fish was very fresh, though I wish the ngiri rolls stuck together better. Atmosphere is okay. Modern and yet strangely outdated. The food definitely made up for this. Four stars!

  • Lindsay L.

Can't get over how good this was especially for all you can eat! The fish was all fresh and the sauces were yum. Our favorites are the salmon nigiri and the Anger Management roll. My husband can put away a ridiculous amount of sushi and I take him for it far less than desired for fear of the tab...no more! $25 flat fee :) Our orders were filled very quickly and overall service was good but not great (I think our waitress was having personal issues). The chefs seemed very friendly and I might try the bar next time.

Best sushi in Boise. By a mile. Super fresh (I don't how how they do it when other sushi places in Boise are so consistently erratic with that), beautifully crafted and presented, and actually startlingly fast, at least on my three visits there in the last few weeks. No, that's only a tiny part of what I'm really wanting to say about this place... How 'bout this: Every once in while (but fairly rarely actually, no matter where in the world you live), you do run into a restaurant that simply and undeniably does *everything* right. I could write a long, detailed explanation of each aspect of Yoitomo; citing every food item I've eaten there (which are many), every instance of careful and personally appreciative service, every inflection of mood and atmosphere and how the business is structured and how well it all works (not to mention how completely authentic it is, for those of us who care about such things)... But what you really want to know is whether you should go there. You should go there. Whether you're a lifetime sushi-lover all-you-can-eater (me), or a neophyte looking for an introduction to Japanese cuisine (and wanting to meet it in the most accessible and positive possible way)... Whomever you are, and whatever your reason for wanting to find a Japanese restaurant that more than pleases, Yoitomo WILL more than satisfy and please you. You will go back again and again. You will tell people you know to go there, even if they haven't been "into" Japanese food before. You will be happy. This is one rare bird in the world of Boise restaurants (or anyplace's, really). Excellence to the rafters, but humble and unpretentious enough that no one will feel over-matched or in over their head. Simply... Fabulous. You should go there. .

This place was great! Girlfriend took me here for my birthday date. I've never had such fast sushi that was actually really good. Every roll I had was great. Make sure to get the seaweed salad! The only thing that makes this place go from 5 to 4 stars was the scattered service. One waiter would get our drink orders and then 2 others would ask us if we wanted drinks. Not a big deal, but a little distracting. The lame movie names for sushi rolls need to go too.

  • Hungry G.

Wow! first time trying it out and it was excellent! Incredible selection of amazing sushi! Great service (we sat at the bar) and had an incredible time. I highly recommend the all you can eat option with a group of people as it allows you to try all their incredible variety!

I really like sushi. I really like this place. Mmm especially the Spicy Mexican Crunch...oh lordy it was good. In my opinion, it was super yummy! If you are going to take sushi super seriously though, I wouldnt go. It is not your typical sushi place...like the atmosphere almost reminded me of a coffee shop. Kinda...hipster. Oh gosh I cant wait to go again. I am salivating just thinking about it.

Mostly great service. One of the waitresses is really rude but the others are nice. Awesome prices and great selection. Appetizers are included with the all you can eat pricing.

Meh. Went for all you can eat sushi, would have been decent if they wouldn't put fake crab (not labeled as such) in everything. Service was ok, food was ok (except the "crab"), prices were ok.

My sushi hunt continues!

came again for the all you can eat buffet in January 2013. every thing I got was watered down version of sushi rolls. Terribly disappointed. previously, I gave this place a 4 star review. Lowered to two stars. food got Americanized and standards were lowered. Before every roll had a unique flavor and now they are made from overcooked rice, slathered with mayo and some avocado to drown any taste to it. Please bring back the previous chef or previous menu. please

The quality is good but the prices are expensive. I guess if you are into all you can eat, the value is there. I was not psyched about the cutesy movie themed names for their rolls. This was distracting. The service was a little distracted and scattered. I will probably go back and give them another chance.

Delicious sushi. Lots of selection. (Yet, rolls are similar to each other) Good selection (almost everything) on the all you can eat menu. Priced a little high, but environment and food was good. Also, they were playing Hawaiian music!

Four stars!

Simply... Fabulous. You should go there. .
