The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. Fresh, great-tasting, VERY affordable Greek food. I love The Gyro Shack. I drive quite a ways for it and I'm never disappointed. If they opened one closer to me, I would be spending a lot more time at The Gyro Shack.

The Gyro Shack rocks it. I enjoy both their Deluxe Chicken Gyro and their Greek Salad Pita. Always fresh. Always ample. Always delicious. I've also ordered and enjoyed their hummus with pita bread. A word to the wise, though--the serving size is huge. They give you a good 12 or so ounces of hummus. We enjoyed it for days (definitely not complaining!). The prices are amazing. Three of us each got a gyro, and shared the hummus side for less than $20! Also? The service is Michael Phelps in the pool fast. Which is to say, they deserve several Olympic medals for the speed of service (especially considering how fresh and wonderful everything they're serving is). You drive up, order, and a couple short minutes later you're driving away, food in hand. I'll take The Gyro Shack over many other forms of fast food any day of the week. Get to it!

Wow! Lots of menu choices! This is a cute little shack in a supermarket parking lot on Overland Road. It has a window to drive by and take your dinner home, or you can walk to window on other side and eat outside at a couple of picnic tables with umbrellas. I ordered the Gyro Plate for $6.99. The food was sooo good! It was perfect for a summer evening supper!

Huge Gyros for the price! And they were yummy!

Best Greek food in town! Always amazing & delicious!! The best owners & staff with exceptional customer service I've ever received! They always know what custom order I want right when they see me or my boys! Thanks for be so amazing!

I tried this place not expecting anything wonderful, just something quick to eat, but instead was left highly impressed! I have always enjoyed a good gyro, and this was definitely in the upper quarter of places I have tried. The meat was well seasoned, the tzatziki was delicious and all the ingredients tasted fresh and crisp.Gyros are something that can easily be ruined quickly, this place does a great job to avoid all of those mistakes. The one thing holding it back, is they need to have falafel! It acts as a great alternative to the gyro meat for the vegetarians or people looking for a little less meat that day. It is a necessity at any gyro shop because it maintains the flavor and idea of the Mediterranean. The veggie substitute was okay, but definitely detracted from the potential. If you are looking for a traditional, deluxe gyro however, this place is pretty hard to beat!! I am glad to see that there are more and more of these!

One of the best gyros I've had. I love the Philly style gyro. They have a bunch of different types of gyros too. Very filling with lots of meat and cheese and veggies.

The Gyro Shack is where it's at! If you're ever in Boise and have a hankering for quick, quality, and inexpensive Greek -- GO HERE. The ingredients are fresh and delicious, made by friendly staff. They even have a frequent buyer card to work towards getting free gyros, which is very easy to fill once you've had your first taste.

Yumm!! Everything was so fresh and delicious. Every single veggie had a crunch. The Greek salad and chicken gyro was awesome. Great prices and specials too!

I don't know why this has bad reviews. This is a great place to grab healthy food. Gyro's are very very low fat and have great clean carbs in them especially with lots of veggies. I usually go here for my cheat days. And the prices range from $2-$12 and if you're a hummus lover they have really good freash hummus!

Yum yum yum!! I'd never been here before, so I decided to give it a shot. The Gyro Shack did not disappoint! I took one reviewer's advice and got the double meat...it was a little too much for me, so next time I'll just get the regular amount of meat. Yes...I'm definitely coming here again!

This place is excellent. I always get the basic Gyro which I love. My kids get the cheese pita with gyro meat and its excellent too. The service is great. Stop by, you'll be glad you did.

Delicious, inexpensive, fast and very friendly service! We stopped by here the other day and were both impressed. I was really happy with the super chicken gyro with avocado added, and my boyfriend kept going on about how good the Z gyro was. We will definitely eat here again to try different gyros!

Tasty, healthy and inexpensive!

Good gyro. Plus they have chicken gyro and other unique flavors. Drive thru only no seating. I like to order double meat for an extra dollar.
(3)Ceezie K.
Not to bad for $5; I liked everything except the ground chicken patty. Next time I will try the beef or lamb.

Finally stopped by on my way home last night and glad I did. They have a thorough but not too huge menu of gyros. I had the Delux Gyro and house salad. Loads of good food. They meat was plentiful and hearty. The pita was just perfect--soft but not so squishy that it fell apart. Don't expect fries with your sandwich--the owner (?) is proud to say that they don't offer anything that had to be cooked in oil.

I craved a gyro & saw this calling my name. I wanted the original, & noticed how super affordable it was. Added a Greek salad (crispy fresh veggies with sprinkles of feta), & a raspberry lemonade. The gyro is lamb & beef with perfect crunch. I'm a sucker for tzaziki sauce. Omg it was good. Flavorful, & full of meat..I loved it. Oh yeah...the lemonade had remnants of raspberries at the bottom of the cup...which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'll drive out of my way for this place again. SOON.

Very delicious, affordable, and vegetarian-friendly. Perfect. Will be ordering again in the future.

I drive out of my way for this place. Great price, super value. I get the deluxe Gyro with avocado. Better in the summer as eating in the car is the only option when it is cold/raining!!

Delicious. We got the supreme, it was huge, with tons of flavors: feta, hummus, hot sauce, bacon... the meat was crispy, the gyro was soooooo good. The only weird part was we sat out on tbe picnic bench, and when they got slow they just stared at us eating... :-/
