Well Yelpers, I haven't done a review in awhile, time to get back into it. While I can agree with points from all the other previous Yelpers, I can't put my mark on this place being so terrifically awesome that it makes a 30 minute wait either outside in the cold or crammed into their small entry way worth it. Anyone reading this who has eaten in Nampa will understand it when I say that the Egg Factory is almost a clone to "Say You Say Me" in Nampa (which I hear IS related to the Egg Factory, though I don't know if it's new owners all the way around, or if the owners of Say You instigated a name change and opened the Boise Location). The food IS down home cooking. It is presented well and overall is very pleasing. The service was excellent and once we were able to get in and sit, the decor is cute and a bit quaint. My husband and I both left with satisfied stomachs for less than $20.. which was comparable to what we would have spent at IHOP or even at a fast food drive thru for breakfast. What I would warn you of if to take care about falling for the fanfare over their "Factory Potatoes".. which are essentially diced potatoes that are seasoned and deep fried. Be wary also of their buttermilk drop biscuits, which are dry. My husband had one with gravy as part of his meal, and the biscuit wasn't even split. Once he mashed it up and mixed it into the gravy it was much more enjoyable. My server may have misheard, but my ground black Angus beef patty was served up cooked medium versus the medium well I had asked for, I didn't mention it because I don't mind medium beef, I simply wasn't expecting it. This isn't a horrible experience, it is unique- and even if my husband doesn't want to go again, I will simply to sample more from their menu! The one thing I would say if anyone affiliated with The Egg Factory is reading this? Please reconsider queuing the people waiting for seats in the hallway leading to your bathrooms. The tiny entry way is not a safe place to pack in fifteen people on a cold day- it's a fire hazard, and we watched at least a dozen people pull up, see the crowd in the entry way and leave. A retractable stanchion or two for a waiting area in the bathroom hallway would clear up the entryway and make the guests waiting a lot more comfortable. If you are going to The Egg Factory, go with a good sense of humor, and if it's cold dress warmly. You will enjoy your meal, and I hope you are able to come out raving that it's worth it.

Not worth the wait, very average food. I waited for 30 minutes on a Sunday for three of us to get in. Once we got seated, it took nearly 10 minutes for someone to bring menus and water. After ordering, finally got our food, no coffee refills until I finally asked for it. Our waitress had three tables and it took her nearly five minutes to come back with the refill. Mostly the waitresses hung out in the kitchen doing who knows what. Once we were finished, we waited 10 minutes for our bill which never came so I finally went to the register and paid which was probably the most efficient part of the whole process. The food was hot but very average, not very flavorful and once they drop it off, you'd better hope you don't need anything else, you'll never see a waitress again. I'm not sure why everyone is so crazy for this place, you get better food and better service at Express Cafe or even The Caprii.

Always a hit. Been going for 2 years, and they've retained most of the same staff. The line moves quick if there is one..... don't let it deter you. The coffee is rich and delish. The food is ample, hot and flavorful.

Great place and atmosphere just the way it should be. The breakfast is big and hearty to get your day going right, just be warned they aren't open all day.

My wife and I, were in Boise just for the morning traveling through. We used our Yelp app to find a great breakfast place an found the egg factory. We ate light an my wife had the giant cinnamon roll an fruit bowl, an I had hash browns an toast since we are traveling. The cinnamon roll was so moist it was delicious, fruit bowl felt like it came from the farm. Lived my hash brown felt like a mix of crisp an mashed loved it.

We just moved here and found this place on yelp with pretty great reviews. The Rooster crepes were delicious! If you've never had chorizo & eggs before this is def the way to start! The sides were huge as well as the portions so I would recommend sharing. The gravy.. Oh heavens the gravy!! Please order the biscuits & gravy.. Factory potatoes with gravy.. Hash browns with gravy... Heck, eat it with a spoon! Really it is that good. And ask for Gaby!! It was our first stop in a new city and she was so welcoming. She interacted wonderfully the kiddos, even giving hugs and well wishes when we left. She is def a gem there! This is for sure our regular spot from here on out. :)
(5)Zachary D.
Good breakfast just very small at every location feels extremely like a fast food in n out or to go place.
(3)Chris H.
This is a solid breakfast place! Not the nicest place in town but not the worst! The staff is alway pretty freindly and what you get for the money is about right. I prefer the egg factory over the big chain breakfast places. Can be a bit rough at times and very busy, but the food is always soild. Breakfast specials starting out about $4 or so.

Hummmm... For some reason my experience does not line up well with other reviewers. I went there on Sunday (bad move #1) the wait was long, the place was filthy and kinda looked like the floor of an airplane after a 4 hour flight with 4 year olds (food all over the floor and no one cleaned it up) It took just a little bit longer than forever to get waited on and the food took even longer to get to the table. We were told they had a new cook, ok I can buy that maybe. The food quality was decent, the eggs were cooked as requested, but how difficult is it to cook eggs and bacon?? Next time I want a 2 hour dining experience for breakfast I will go to Europe not the Egg Factory.

I am a fan of the Egg Factory. However, that being said the Boise location was just ok. The food was good but came out a little cold and seemed like it took longer than it should have since the restaurant was not filled and the waitresses were just standing around looking for something to do. The waitresses seemed to be waiting for the crowd that hadn't arrived yet on a Sunday morning. Which is ok, if you aren't waiting for drinks. I didn't get one refill. When I finally asked for refills I had to pay for them for the children's milk. Since the cups are VERY small I just didn't feel like it was something that somebody should pay for. Next time we'll go with soda. I had the new lemon poppyseed pancakes. Very good and unique. If you like lemon poppyseed muffins you will like the pancakes. Very cool. My family thought their meals were ok but the omelette and biscuits and gravy came out cold which just isn't what we have experienced from the other Egg Factory locations. If you are in the area it would be worth the 20 minute drive to try the Nampa location. That being said it may have been a fluke and it was a better breakfast than what you would get from a Denny's, Shari's or JB's.

Excited to visit The Egg Factory for the first time. Unfortunately, the service from our waitress really dulled our once a month breakfast outing experience. We were greeted with a lackluster attitude and a "hurry up and order, I want to get out of here" vibe from our waitress. It was rather unfortunate because the restaurant wasn't exactly bustling and it was our first visit and looking over the menu and the variety of dining options to choose from was going to take more than a couple minutes. The food itself was adequate, although nothing spectacular. Won't be back.

Yes!! If you have not been here you need to check it out! All around 5 stars! This is my favorite type of breakfast spot. Not super nice but because of that prices are great. Staff was really friendly and food was amazing! This was my first visit to The Egg Factory and it was recommended to me multiple times since I moved to Boise. Because I am thankful for the people who recommended it to me, in turn, I recommend it to you! I hope you enjoy your breakfast or brunch and let me know what you think!
(5)Justin H.
Not mind-blowing (ala Goldy's or Big City Cafe), but totally solid breakfast food. In California, I feel like these kinds of restaurants were everywhere. In Boise, this is the only one I can find like it. Totally solid breakfast, traditional plates, good portions, darn decent execution.
(3)Jon J.
The avocados they used were not fresh. Really slow service. Other than that pretty decent breakfast place. Will not revisit, not worth the long wait.
(1)Mark R.
Its unfortunate that poor service and sloppy looking staff has to bring down a good breakfast! No one to refill coffee or water. The food is very good though! The oatmeal pancakes taste like warm cookies...
(2)Arianna F.
Always yummy! I like the taco omelette. I like to come here if I want a nice hearty meal. I also was very pleased with the homemade strawberry jam. Quick and pleasant service. I would recommend. There's a reason why it's always so busy especially on the weekends!!
(4)Austin D.
Let me think how to phrase this. Yum yum yum. Cheap cheap cheap. Did I mention Yum and Cheap? Great food, great price, great service.
(4)Troy M.
Foods great but why on God's green earth would you seat people when you can't even take an order for almost twenty more minutes after people wait fifteen to get the table in the first place? Seems like terrible planning. If it was my first time and not my third time (yeah I'm a hard learner when the food is good) I'd probably walk out. Especially when folks that I saw seated after us were being served first. In my opinion you always serve the single guy with a three year old first to get them out of your booth before the child melts down with boredom.
(3)Michael T.
Attentive and friendly service, pretty good food and great prices. We went this morning with friends and at first I was skeptical- it was kind of run down looking and small. We waited about 20 minutes for a table which I never mind- who wants to eat at an empty restaurant? After we were sat we were promptly brought waters, Samantha was super friendly and we were off! Portions were huge, food came out hot and fast, and everything tasted good. We enjoyed it and would defiantly return. Only down side? We have a baby and the buckles on every high chair were broken, a little disappointing as we tried a couple of chairs and were unable to buckle little Maddi in. The waitress said "sorry, they're all like that" other than that- solid Sunday brunch.

One of the best breakfast places I've been to in a while. We live in Nevada and every time we are in Boise we look forward to eating here. Top recommendations -Red Rooster -Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast
(5)Amanda B.
Loved it!! My boyfriend and I loooovvveee eggs Benedict and theirs was fantastic. Their potatoes were simply delightful and they even made a good cup of coffee. Will definitely be paying them another visit next time we are in Boise. Staff was friendly and quick. Great place!
(5)Michelle C.
We came here on a whim and man did we get a yummy meal! The waitress was funny and very personable. The food was awesome! Huge portions of yummy eggs with avocado and bacon, hash browns and we haven't talked about the 1/2 of cinnamon roll. I will just say you want the 1/2 of cinnamon roll, you won't be disappointed.
(5)Amanda B.
Love their breakfast, the service, and the specials! Great place to get a cheap tasty meal. They have great bread and jam too! I think they make it.
(5)Lonna B.
Always DELICIOUS!!!! My husband and I started a Sunday breakfast date. Our goal was to find lil breakfast places in the Treasure Valley, but once we stumbled upon the Egg Factory we haven't tried anywhere else! IT is always great and worth the wait!!!! I start craving the food in the middle of the week, which makes it that much better on sunday morning!
(5)Dave S.
Hot biscuits and gravy, mmm, there are few things better in life. Cold biscuits and gravy, there are few things worse. Hot = Good Cold = Bad
(1)Megs H.
Welp... it's called the EGG Factory because it makes good breakfast, NOT lunch! Don't get any lunch item from here... you'll weep with disappointment. But, if you get an omlete, your belly will thank you for days.
(4)Madeline H.
My grandfather and I ate at the Egg Factory every single morning. We walked in, they always had our favorite booth ready for us, and they knew to brew a pot of coffee triple the strength of their normal coffee for my grandfather. They always knew our drinks, 90% of the time, they already knew our order, except when we decided to change it up and try something different. Now my grandfather has passed and they still remember me every time I go in and they all still remember him and talk about it. The service is absolutely wonderful and they food is fantastic and well priced too!
(5)James P.
I have eaten at the Egg Factory a couple dozen times....all I need to say....Hawaiian pancakes....AWESOMENESS!!!! The Waitresses n Waiters are super, they are friendly, fun & very helpful. Everything I have eaten there has been just down right tasty....from their pancakes to the omelettes. However, the price of their supposed fresh squeezed orange juice is ridiculously priced. I could buy 2 gallons at that price at Albertsons. I still Love love the food and I'll be back.....just hold the OJ.

Why did you do this to me, Egg Factory? Why? I have heard so many people rave about you and every time I pass your store front there are swarms of people braving the elements, waiting to be seated in one of your booths. Needless to say, I was very excited when I sat down for one of your famed breakfasts the other morning. But then you let me down. How is it possible that you have six or seven waitresses chatting away in your kitchen but no one in your dining room seems to be getting any service? The only time I saw a waitress was when she brought out food to or collected money from patrons. All I wanted was my glass of water refilled, was that too much to ask? When my food did come, so did the disappointment. I ordered the sausage, bacon, and ham omelet because I am a chubby guy who likes my pork products. Upon first bite, I was assaulted by the taste of burnt bacon crumbles over all of the other delectable parts of the piggy I was eating. I really like the taste of hams and sausages but I didn't find many of them in the confines of my omelet. It is a sad day when the only part of my meal I was happy with was the sour dough toast. Egg Factory, you were a huge letdown. Fire half of your wait staff and learn how to cook a good breakfast seeing that that is all you really serve to begin with. Your offerings right now are not horrible but they aren't very good either. I may try you again if I am forced to but it will be against my will. Maybe next time you can prove my first impressions of you wrong.

Love love love. I'm newer to the Boise area, and when I moved here, everyone said Goldy's was the best breakfast. I found out on my own that The Egg Factory is the best breakfast!! Where do I begin? First of all, I love when little breakfast joints have flavored creamer at the table. If I can't have a latte/americano with my meal, I appreciate that I can at least enjoy my drip coffee with flavored creamer! I've had the biscuits and gravy, pretty delicious. I've also had the biscuit as a side instead of toast, and let me tell you about it. The raspberry jam they give with the biscuit is absolutely fantastic. It is homemade and a little bit of heaven. I've had a few of the different omelettes, all of them stuffed full of goodies. Eggs fluffy and cooked perfectly. Now the pancakes - the banana pecan are pretty good. But OMG. The Hawaiian pancakes. A. Maz. Ing. There are chunks of pineapple, coconut, and macadamedia nuts in the pancake batter and an amazing syrup that reminds me of pina coladas. I could eat these all day. Even my boyfriend who isn't into sweets at breakfast steals a few bites of these. They have a huge menu with much much more that I haven't written about. They also have lunch, but I'm not sure why you would have lunch here! The prices are fair, no more than any other breakfast place around town. Give them a shot!
(5)Derek L.
Food is good and affordable.FYI No gluten free options(other than things obviously free of gluten). Coffee is bit weak and they use those little disposable coffee creamer things. If you get the all you can eat pancakes, MAKE SURE YOU MIX AND MATCH i wish the waitress would have pointed this out to me. i ended up with 3 huge oatmeal pancakes. Although very tasty, i wasn't able try the other special pancakes.

On our way out of town, we decided to try another breakfast place. We made good time getting out of our hotel, and we couldn't check in until 4pm at the next one, so we had the time to kill. I can say though, that Goldy's title as "best breakfast in Boise," is secure. Service: 2/5 Ok, let me say up front here that my complaint is more with their system than any specific employee. There were only two waitresses working the place while we were there. But not only were they the waitresses, they were the bussers, and the hostesses too. So not only are they taking orders, they are delivering orders, they are clearing tables, they are cashing checks. And frankly, they weren't doing any of it well. Nothing was satisfactory about how we were served. But the two biggest problems; my wife asked for jam for her toast. The jam never arrived, ever, even after we asked about it the second time. And it took far too long for our check to arrive after the meal. As I mentioned in a previous review, this is one of my pet peeves. Don't make a bad situation worse by dragging your feet in getting us out of there. Food: 3/5 The food was purely average. My wife ordered a bacon and avocado omelet. Her comment was that the avocado seemed unripe and had been microwaved in order to appear softer. I ordered a three-egg scramble that was supposed to be spicy with green peppers, pepper-jack cheese, and a "chipotle" sauce. Now maybe it's because I live in the southwest, but their spicy scramble was not spicy in the least. It was lacking any kind of punch or flavor whatsoever. The other thing I would comment on is the "factory potatoes." They claim these things are special somehow, but to me they were nothing but simple, fried potatoes. Now in their defense, they were good for what they are, and they were not greasy at all. But again... purely pedestrian. The pancakes were good, and again, simple. Overall Impressions: 3/5 The restaurant has a nice, comfortable feel to it. The seating is "seat yourself," and they do a good job of getting that feeling across. The menu is huge and the prices are reasonable. But I can't say I walked out of there feeling good. The service left a bad taste in my mouth, and the average nature of the food did nothing to "rinse" that out. Everybody has a bad day, and maybe they were just having one on the day I decided to walk in their door, but unfortunately I won't be back any time soon to give them a chance to correct it.

Peanut butter syrup time, Peanut butter syrup time (sung to the tune of Peanut Butter Jelly Time)...ahhhh. Location: 4 out of 5 This location is not too far away from downtown Boise, and only a 15 minute drive in from Meridian. It's located in a shopping center with ample parking. Service: 5 out of 5 Actually, quite good here. We came in, manually checked in with their reservation system (a notebook with a pen), and we were allowed to wait in a little area between the two entrance doors. They told us about 15 - 20 minutes, and sure enough - 15 minutes later, we were seated. Our waitress was very competent: fast to refill our coffee, she checked on us often, and made pleasant small talk. Decor: 3 out of 5 It's a diner type setting, so there are no royal linens here. But the chairs are comfortable, the space is large, and it's clean. Quality of food: 4 out of 5 Yee boy. I was so hungry that morning, I had the following items: the two biscuit and gravy breakfast, with two very large drop biscuits, the sausage gravy, two eggs, factory potatoes, and a stack of 3 very generous pancakes. Suffice it to say that not only was this a lot of food, it was actually quite good too. The biscuits and gravy were very good, though not something that I'd recommend as a Boise Bucket list. The same with the eggs and the potatoes - good, but not fantastic. But what made the meal magical, my friends - was the presence of peanut butter syrup. Yes, peanut butter melded/whipped/alchemied with maple syrup to make a delicious liquid that when added to the pancakes (or any other food for that matter), turned everything into dining bliss. I could have added that to my coffee if I wanted to. Oh wait, I did. I could have added it to a piece of paper and still lovingly ate it. Yum. Price: 5 out of 5 Holy moly - all that food and coffee and I paid about 15 bucks including tax and tip. Overall: 5 out of 5 Rounding up (which I systematically do), this place is 5 stars. Skip Goldies and their high prices and come eat here. Ask for the home made syrups. You wont' be disappointed.

We'd heart good things about The Egg Factory and there's one nearby - the one on Fairview - so we decided to try it, one morning, after another choice wasn't a choice at all but open for breakfast only on weekends or some shit like that, so The Egg Factory it was. It's tucked into a little shopping center; we knew where it was because we'd been in the neighborhood before. "Oh - hey!" my sister said. "That place is supposed to be good!" Then we filed it away, recalling it each time we accidentally came across it, again. So you might need to do a little searching to find it. Although I'm not sure if you'd want to. Except to declare that you'd finally gotten around to trying it. And it's not worth the hype. It's a cute little place. Laid out like an old-fashioned dining room. But it's a little small for the amount of business it does. Which is shocking. Are these people regulars? Or just trying it out like us? Listen - it's not horrid. I'm sure it's just fine for some. But, for us, the service was sketchy. The waitress was the most unfriendliest one I've yet met in Idaho, where almost everyone seems friendly to me. She was curt and seemed overworked. Or maybe she just thought she was. But I'd say she might've needed help. I'll give her that. In spite of her demeanor, she got the job done. It was like being served by a woman on the verge of turning into a wolverine, though - and that's not fun. As I said, the place was a little cramped for me. Smallish tables must be necessary in someone's mind for a "homey" atmosphere, but the place's servings are huge - which isn't a bad thing at all for hungry folk trying to break their fast. Huge servings don't go well with tiny tables. And, no huge platter will please a hungry customer if what's on the platter is kind of- Meh. Or leaning toward the "gross" side. First off, the Factory Potatoes are awesome. Cut into forkable cubes and seasoned wonderfully before being fried into perfection in my opinion. Loved 'em. The fresh-squeezed orange juice was very pleasing, too. But we ordered omelets and- Gawd. People, you really have to think about what you're tossing into your eggs in the morning. Because texture counts as much as taste. And the Enchilada Omelet my sister ordered was filled with, among other things, chorizo. But that chorizo was ground into a disgusting fine mess that was slightly less appetizing than Taco Bell meat. It was billed as "homemade" chorizo, but I always wonder "Who's home?" whenever I see the word "homemade", anywhere. Chorizo is a spicy sausage, so a person might want to take care when seasoning a ground lump of it. But, in tasting the remainder of my sister's breakfast as she refused to finish it, not having enjoyed it much, I found the chorizo in her omelet between bland and - without a better word coming to mind - icky. This coming from a guy who loves chorizo, mind you. Added to this was avocado, tomatoes and onions. "Topped with melted Cheddar & Monterey Jack cheeses and our own chipotle sauce." Well... "Our own" and "homemade" are the same animal, but I have no complaints about the sauce. I don't really having anything nice to say about it, either. Because the chorizo didn't well compliment the other ingredients. It might've been a decent omelet if the chef inadvertently forgot to add it. I had the "Whole Farm" Omelet. Because I'm a fat sonofabitch and anything that's called "Whole Farm" immediately catches my eye. Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, crumbled bacon, diced ham, country sausage, mushrooms, onions and bell peppers. Topped with more Cheddar & Monterey Jack and diced tomatoes. Okay. Texture, you might've guessed by now, is a big thing with me. Very important. Texture adds to the taste of a dish more than some might think. Sometimes, grinding an ingredient down to nothing and tossing it into a heap with a bunch of other ground-down-to-nothing ingredients might work for something. Or someone. I prefer a more rustic, "big-chopped" pieces approach to some things. For some things. You can't apply that logic to everything across the board any more than you can to the "grind-down" school. Which the kitchen at The Egg Factory on Fairview has obviously embraced. This latter philosophy of preparation. Because everything in that fucking omelet was pulverized into tiny pieces. I looked around, over each shoulder - even though one shoulder bordered the wall. Looking for old people. That demographic and babies are the only groups that might appreciate not having to chew your food and I imagine they adore The Egg Factory for helping them not have to. For me, it makes for a gross omelet. I couldn't discern between sausage, ham, or bacon, it was chopped up and mixed together so monstrously. Mushrooms, onions, peppers, and tomatoes, as well. "Diced tomatoes". Yeah, well... Everything was diced. Into tiny little pieces. And I hated it. I ate it... I've eaten worse. But I didn't enjoy it enough to say I'd soon be back.
(3)Ed R.
So many good things on the menu, it's hard to choose. My wife and I both thought our meals were yummy and the waitress was great--upbeat without being annoyingly so. We'll be back.
(5)Scott N.
i enjoy this place for a reasonable breakfast. It reminds me a little bit of the '50s style breakfast place. I've been several times and the food and service has been consistent.
(3)Jim G.
Came here twice. The second time is because we got a free meal due to the bad service and terrible food. Second time a little better. But I won't go back again.
(1)Steve C.
Great food! Farm boy breakfast was excellent and perfectly cooked eggs!!
(5)BoiseFoodie A.
I am sorry to do this but I have to downgrade the Egg Factory. Had a couple of bad experiences with newer servers. Place just got to be ... well, depressing and grungy. On the look out for new breakfast option.
(3)Vera M.
Ahh! This place is heaven in your mouth! Especially if you are a sweet tooth kind of person. I recently visited this place during the weekend and it was great! I ordered Strawberry Cheesecake pancakes.. with white chocolate drizzles. Tell me that does not sound good! They have all sorts of breakfast goodies. They also have your traditional side of breakfast such as eggs, bacon, breakfast steak, and even a cup of fruits. BUT im tell ya -- You should try this place out! The customer service was very friendly. Price of food was cheap. I will come back here again and again! :]
(5)Kristin B.
Clean & bustling on a Sunday morning. They do a great job of keeping things moving & the wait was unexpectedly short. The staff works hard! But they work well and they were unfailingly pleasant - super-nice, actually. I took off 1 star because their potatoes are not prepared fresh. Frozen hash browns... Even their signature "Factory Potatoes" start out frozen & that was disappointing so I didn't order any. But... the pancakes are superb! Wow. I had Gingerbread Pancakes, which are served with Lemon Syrup - nice touch! The syrup is very tangy & flavorful and the pancakes really do taste exactly like gingerbread. I added blueberries and pecans to my pancakes. To my surprise, both were cooked in with the pancakes & then more pecans were sprinkled on top. AWESOME. Some of the best pancakes I've ever had. Orange juice? Fresh squeezed! This location is in a strip mall so there's plenty of parking - always a plus. If you go & they look busy, just put your name on the list & wait. It's worth it! Open 7 days... 6:30 am - 3 pm.
(4)Bree B.
I've been to the Egg Factory about 3 or 4 times in the last few months. You might ask why I keep going back after looking at the mediocre rating I gave the place..... WELL, 1) They "BENEDICT" selection is vast! The hollindaise is pretty standard, along with the rest of the meal. Gotta give them applause for the hash browns though, cooked to crunchy perfection. Although you run the risk of being presented with a soggy English muffin. 2) Prices aren't too bad, it's good for a group of people if you're OK with waiting awkwardly in the middle of the restaurant squished up to another table already munching away, until your table is ready. 3) If you're with a hungry man (which I usually am) the portions of most of the meals with perfectly satisfy them. Their country gravy smoothed item (forgot the name, similar to biscuit and gravy but with MORE meat) is a semi yummy heart- attack waiting to happen with a side of hang-over cure! I've more often than not had pretty efficient service but 1 time I was embarrassed in front of the guest I took because our basic food orders took TOO damn long!

S-s-sweeeeet Jesus. I already am in love with Boise and all its delicious food offerings... but anyone that knows me, knows that the way to my heart is through a great breakfast. It IS the most important meal of the day, after all, and THE most delicious meal of the day, in my humble opinion. =) And my my, the Egg Factory brings it. Seriously. First of all, its VERY easy to miss... had I not been brought here for the first time by a Boise resident, I would have totally missed it. Its tucked away in the Shop-Ko (spelling?) shopping center, between a tax place, and a spa or something of the sort. Its the kind of place that... uh, senior citizens, frequent. But you definitely see the hungover college kids coming by on weekends.. it is BSU city, after all. I've only been twice, and ordered the same thing both times, which is pretty damn amazing. Their selection is HUGE, and maybe next time I will order something different, but the California scramble (cliche, I know), is sooo good. The "small" order is 3 eggs (I think they sneak 4 in there) scrambled up with thick cut bacon, tomatoes, advocado, and yummy montery jack, served with your choice of potato (I personally like the Factory potatoes, which are like home-fries, essentially. Add the onions and bell peppers, its free!) and your choice of "breakfast bread". You can get a half of a GIANT cinnamon roll, biscuits & gravy, toast, a biscuit, OR... PANCAKES. Yes, pancakes. And they have quite the assortment of them... pumpkin (tis the season), oatmeal cookie, gingerbread, the staple buttermilk... you name it. And a bevvy of syrups that they make in house. Re-dick. Its a dream come true for us pancake lovers... =) The first time I came, my best friend ordered the Popeye omlette, which was filled with spinach and veggies... she's a vegetarian, so she opted to swap her eggs with Eggbeaters (which they also do at no extra charge). Impressive. Second time around, Manfriend came with me, which was a feat in itself, because he's not a big Breakfast fan, and with a name like the Egg Factory, it pretty much suggests that its all Breakfast, all the time. But they do have a good page of their menu dedicated to lunch... and shockingly, he chose a breakfast item. The breakfast burrito was heavenly, with fresh crumbled chorizo (as a CA native, I love some good chorizo) that they also make in-house, cheese, eggs, topped with cheese and a yummy sour cream sauce. I'm sure it had other stuff with it.. but I only had one bite. Manfriend scarfed. It was pretty heavenly. My check has never been over 20 bucks for all this food, and actually the 2nd time, I think it was 17. I loooove this place... the servers are all quick, with prompt coffee refills and good service. I just can't wait til they open their 3rd location.... which happens to be right down the street... =)

The breakfast was very disappointing. All frozen pre packaged ingredients and the food was cold. Cinnamon rolls were stale. I had a crepe that was supposed to have Chorizo in it but it tasted like old taco meat. I asked my server for a side of sour cream to help drown the taste and was informed I already has sour cream on my plate! Will never go back.

The Egg Factory has a HUGE menu and everything is very reasonably priced. Most of the food I've had there is phenomenal, and it's currently our fave breakfast spot in town. The strawberry cheesecake french toast is delicious, and the enchilada omelet is great. Their prime rib breakfast is good, too, when they have it! I was less impressed with their eggs benedict and sausage/biscuit stack thing. But the staff is friendly, it's a cheap and cheerful place, and we'll be returning.

This is the best breakfast place in Idaho, and right on par with the Sunshine Cafe in Auburn, Washington, and the Egg & I in Fort Collins, Colorado. I am an official "good breakfast" stalker. Where do I start? The Hawaiian pancakes are heavenly. But, everything is fabulous. I have no idea how they keep their prices so low, but very reasonable. Service is great and efficient. It's packed full every time we go. It's a "must go" place in the Nampa/Boise area. You will leave stuffed and happy.

Terrible service. Waited 45 min and finally walked out without eating. Won't be going there again. This was 10:30 on a Thursday!

When you're just want to eat breakfast without thoughts of the consequences, this is the best place in Boise to eat. They have a very diverse menu, and everything I've had has exceeded my expectations. My favorites are the dairyman's pie, and the farm-boy biscuit breakfast.

We have been twice and both times it was above my expectation. My husband and I stopped in late one morning he had the banana waffle and I had the daily steak and egg special. Huge portions and good flavor although the white gravy was not good. We went back with out of town family on a Saturday after my sons graduation. My husband and I split a Benedict which was fabulous. I upgraded the potatoes with onions and peppers sans gravy. It was chock full of flavormmmm. My son had a whole hog omelette and loved it. My daughter had the Hawaiian pancakes and is still raving about them. My in laws had the strawberry banana French toast and adored them. I love the big deep coffee mugs and the flavored creamers. We have had good service both times even on a busy Saturday morning. We were sat quickly. A new fave when we are on that side of town ( we were at the Fairview location both times)

In a strip mall with shopko any many vacant storefronts there was a15 minute wait to get seated. We had a very nice waitress. The menu had many options with things our group of four wanted to try. My order was messed up... But quickly redone amd our friends eggs were overcooked and quickly redone. Chicken fried steak looked amazing... If you like that. Coffee was always full. Prices reasonable. Choices many. Clean. Breakfast & lunch

This is a great place for breakfast or brunch!! I love their french toast! This is a family favorite for sure the only down side is that it is crowed because people love good food!

Best breakfast spot in Boise! The portions are extremely generous, Egg Beaters at no extra charge, super fresh ingredients, great service and a HUGE selection. Normally, when I come across menus that have pages after pages of choices I'm nervous, but this place not only has a huge menu but they've managed to master everything (that I've at least had so far). Even when they're super slammed, the service is still spot on and the food is not sacrificed.

If you're looking for professional and prompt service, beware. I just spent 25 minutes sitting at a table not gettng menus, water or anything. I'm now sitting at the cracker barrel where they know how to treat their customers.

Great breakfast place. Not the greatest ambiance coming from the metropolitan areas, but outstanding food nonetheless with super fast service.

Average food, uninspired decor and a distinct air of depression make this an unexciting choice for breakfast. Want lots of bland food done cheaply as you sit around waiting for your prescriptions to be filled at the nearby Shopko? Gotta take Grandma out for her weekly adventure? You might dig The Egg Factory.

Excellent breakfast, there is always a wait...which is a good sign. The service is great! The oatmeal cookie pancakes are great!!
