Jenny's is just perfect and I don't want it to change in the slightest. Working downtown it is almost impossible to find a place that doesn't serve giant portions. The food is the right size, tasty, and healthy. You get what you pay for, even if it isn't 2,000 calories. I like the other review that says it's so so delicious, but if only it could be cheap. You can't have it all. Please go find your cheap food elsewhere and not ruin this place for people that recognize that quality is more important than quantity.

A few friends have been raving about Jenny's, and I recently found myself downtown around lunchtime and figured I'd give it a shot! I love local and I love fresh. The atmosphere/style of the place was not what I was expecting.. It's very cafeteria feeling; i.e. empty, cold and uninviting. The staff was friendly and helpful, which was a nice bonus. Love that they have cold water on tap, too. I went with a panini and a bag of chips, as my options were limited. I payed nearly $10 for the two, which seemed very overpriced. The panini was tiny and thin! They out to consider using bigger bread.. Or smaller bread. However, it was tasty. Overall I was not impressed, nor will I be rushing back anytime soon.

The food here is really good, not life changing, but really good. The prices are way over the top. My wife and I ate here last week- I had a sandwich and side salad, she had soup and a half sandwich and we split a cookie. It was $25. No table service, bus your own dishes, get your own water, all of which I am fine with, but $25? That being said, the cuban was pretty good- the kale salad was fantastic. My wife had a chicken salad sandwich, and it was bland. She also had the crab soup, which was amazing- it was basically a bowl of crab with a little bit of delicious creamy tomato soup mixed in. We shared a peanut butter cookie which may have been the best PB cookie I've ever had. I'd go back for the soup and the cookie, but don't think this will be a regular stop.

I eat at Jenny's for lunch at least once a week. I always check their website before I go to make sure they have something that I want. Their soups are always made from scratch and are almost always quite good. In addition to a variety of salads, they always feature a hot sandwich, cold sandwich, and a wrap every day. I usually get salad, soup, or a hot sandwich. It's definitely on the pricey side for a lunch ($6-$11). My biggest ongoing issue with Jenny's (and I have told them this via personal e-mail) is that the descriptions of their food items online and/or in the store frequently do not match what they are actually serving. I don't think of myself as a picky eater, but, like most people, there are a few ingredients that I just don't care for. Be warned that sometimes they deviate from their stated menu, and sometimes, like with sandwiches, you don't know it until you have bought it. It is usually with lesser ingredients--like they added feta instead of gorgonzola, or they advertised the sandwich with avocado and it is missing. I wish they wouldn't do this, but it's not going to stop me from continuing to go to Jenny's every week.

The Food I've uploaded a picture of: 1. white chicken chili $3.25 2. mushroom grilled cheese $5.00 White chicken chili was not what I expected. It was ministroni-ish with a single cube of white chicken. Despite that, the flavor was good and had a faint jalapeno taste as advertised. Large chunks of wonderful tomato and small white beans. It is just a cup. The Mushroom Melt was oozing with mushrooms, cheese and a little too much grease. The sourdough was cooked perfectly and greased appropriately - I don't think the mushrooms needed all that extra. They were also bathed in wonderful herbs that had a very nice flavor, could have used a pinch of S&P though. Order Process Website if confusing mostly that the shipping (aka delivery) shows up at $0.00 out of area or $2.00 downtown, when really it's the opposite, I almost didn't order because of it. Ordered online at 12:00pm exactly. Received email at 12:07pm stating "your order has shipped". Yummy! Already? Called at 1:00pm because still no food, they said she was just leaving. Order arrived at 1:06pm Chef Diane is a member of the Slow Food Movement.....no kidding! (haha!) UPDATE: Chef Diane messaged me to say she no longer works there - guess their website needs an update. Overall, would probably be great if I went in and got it, or ate there. The food was pretty good and a nice change from usual fast food fare like Jimmy John's or Pita Pit since D/T delivery is sparse. Not really great for delivery, I'd rather get JJ or PP and have it here in less than 10mins. I'm sure quick/fast delivery isn't thier thing, but an hour is kind of long. They did apologize when I called, and in person. I appreciate that.

Always delicious. I love the rotating menu. My delivery is always prompt and they've almost never forgotten parts of my order. Okay maybe twice. But that's in the time frame of 2 years.

The food is good and healthy-ish but the portions are TINY despite the prices ($5 for essentially half a sandwich). I am always still hungry after I get lunch here.

The freshest local sustainable ingredients hand-crafted in some of the finest lunches Downtown Boise has to offer! Tons of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, if those are your preference or dietary need. If I won the lottery I would eat here every day.

Hands down the best fast casual lunch spot in boise. Every single item on the menu is fresh, healthy, unique and delicious. Wonderful employees as well. This spot is a gem and worth several visits.

There is a rotating menu here so if you want something specific, make sure to check which day its being made! They have great soups and sandwiches here as well as a bunch of other lunch-friendly dishes. Another thing to mention, don't come too late or they might be out of what you want. Jenny's lunch line is good for vegetarians and gluten free because everything is clearly marked.

Soups, salads, and wraps from a catering company. Adequate food even though Jenny's signals that it could be a cool alternative to the humdrum lunch routine. First, you have to find the place; location is in the first floor of an office building with a bunch of other restaurants around. It is really dark so that is a bummer. You go in and the place is totally no frills, maybe Spartan is a better choice of words. There is a chalk board menu or you can look at the display case to see what is available that day. The choices rotate on a monthly basis and will also vary by the weekday. The food is supposed to be healthy and homemade and their mission is to locally source. I think that is still a work in progress however. I've had the lentil sausage soup: lentils with turkey sausage and there is brown rice in it. It's a little watery but pretty tasty. The California sushi roll wrap is appalling. It is a spinach wrap with surimi and rice; it's bland and the texture of the rice/surimi is not good in a wrap. My work colleague left pretty much the whole thing on his plate. Please let the Sushi places do what they do best. The Asian summer roll wraps were one dimensional. Rice paper filled with veggies; peanut dipping sauce was the only flavor note. This is a self-service kind of place with a cashier; you get your own silver, napkins, etc. There is not a lot of interaction with the cashier and the most I can say is that they are not unfriendly. You bus your own table when you are done eating.

Today was my second time trying Jenny's Lunch Line (last time was a couple years ago). I had a chicken skewer and a quinoa salad last time, a BLT with a red potato & gorgonzola salad today. Both times the food was fresh, tasty, and unique. And all the options on the menu strike me as really healthy choices. But for me personally, the value--$3 for a roughly 2x2x2" takeout box of potato salad, $2.75 for a 1x5" strip of grilled chicken--is simply not enough to draw me back again soon when there are a lot of other options nearby.

Have only eaten at Jenny's once, the downtown location is nice and the eatery is cozy and inviting. Food selection is limited by design, for my visit they had a salad choice, sammy choice, and soup. The food was good and reasonably priced. I am giving it three stars because there are quite a few sandwich eateries in Boise and I just don't feel as if Jenny's offers anything beyond what is typical.

It was snowing hard today and I didn't feel like going out to get lunch. I ordered on their website which I found to be somewhat confusing. I chose to go with the sack lunch that included soup, sandwich, small side, cookie and a bottle of water. I thought that the sandwich would be that of the sandwich of the day, but when my food was delivered I was surprised to see a turkey sandwich instead of the shredded pork Cuban I thought I was getting. It was fairly pricey in my book for lunch-$12.19 delivered. Now to the eats. The sandwich came on a delicious bread albeit somewhat bulky in relation to my mouth and the accoutrement's on the 'which itself. It was large enough for 3+ people. Green leaf lettuce was wilted, turkey was turkey and there appeared to be an avocado spread on the bottom that was forgettable. Above the lettuce were sun dried tomatoes that had good flavor, but overwhelmed the palette. The soup that came with my sandwich was tomato basil with cheddar. I love tomato bisque, its my favorite soup out there. The soup that accompanied the sandwich was luke warm, which was excusable due to the snow delay; however the total delivery time from order to door was more than an hour and twenty minutes. That was ridiculous to me considering the point of origin is less that 5 blocks from the building I work in. Back to the soup. Good flavor and thickness, but lacked the WOW factor I usually get when ordering this flavor of soup. The side was a very small cup of grain with cranberry, celery and a vinaigrette. Eh you can keep it, not for me... The cookie was by far the best part of the meal, molasses. It was baked perfectly with a little crunch on the outside with a moist chewy center, YUM. Having said that I am bummed that I paid $12 for a molasses cookie. Perhaps if they were to control their portions regarding the sandwich they could have delivered better on the side and soup. I won't go back, not because the food was terrible by any means, but it just wasn't the greatest thing I have eaten either. It's hard to justify the expense just for lunch when there are so many other lunch options down town for half the price. Delivery was free to the downtown area which was nice. I certainly didn't receive the food I have heard others talking about. The quest continues for the best lunch in Boise under $10.
