We used Goodwood to cater our 50 year class reunion lunch. Mimi was wonderful to work with. The food was excellent!! The portions were huge. Would definitely use them again. On off the best choices we made. I believe the name of the catering service was Idaho Catering Company, but it's actually Goodwood. Use them. You won't be sorry.

Fantastic restaurant. From them opening the inner door for you to seat you, to the amazing wait staff, to the top notch food. I walked up and the hostess met me at the inner door greeting me and holding the door for me before finding out my seating preferences and seating me. Then I was hardly fully seated before my server was there asking me what I'd like to drink, and politely handing me a menu. This was already one of my better dining experiences in Boise. I was given a respectful minute to mull over the menu before she was back with my drink(good iced tea by the way), I asked for advice on what I should get and was given very valuable information after being asked questions on what my mood, instead of just her preference. I'm hypo-glycemic, and was low on sugar so she got me some corn bread to help me for the wait on the food. Now the food. BBQ beef and some brisket. Simply amazing. I don't even know what to say here, just bravo! I don't think I stopped chewing to breathe till it was all gone. In conclusion, go here. You'll be glad you did.

Every now and then you just want some good ole fashioned BBQ and a good sit down experience, is Goodwood the place for you? I will tell you about my experience and everything you want to know so you can get the most out of your dollar here. **The Good- I have been frequenting Goodwood many years not many restaurants in Boise on site. Portion sizes are usually BIG -They have a family friendly atmosphere, newly added Tv's in the dining Room, and some of the best chicken strips in the state. -Service is usually great and tonight our waitress was amazing, she knew exactlt when we needed her and when we needed to be left alone (we were having a business meeting) **The Bad - - I believe for the Quality of food the menu items are WAY over priced. One of my sides came out wrong tonight But a common problem STILL is you receive them lukewarm or even cold -The BBQ meats you pay a fortune for tend to Be dry or even lukewarm (so sad) -Because it is family friendly the noise level Tends to be very loud with children screaming or running around Still want to dine here? My tip for getting the most is order a few dinners for the family and split it up. Different meats and sides make an awesome meal, they do have a "Family style" deal for a rediculous $65!

For a chain outside BBQ country, it really acquits itself well. Very friendly staff - I asked if they could put the hockey playoffs on and they obliged, so I took my table. My server was very attentive and visited even when he wasn't bringing anything over. 5 star service, absolutely. I also think the place has an excellent atmosphere conducive to drinking and good times. The drinks: They have a nice selection of beers on tap, including several local ones. They had a dark amber and porter as house specials, and let me try both. I ordered a small pitcher of the porter. It's an excellent idea to have a 37-oz pitcher in addition to the usual 60-oz one. A 37-oz pitcher has more than two beers for the price of less than two, perfect for a person staying for a few hours. The food: There are a lot of offerings, many of which aren't remotely BBQ-related. But since I came here for the name, I ordered a combo platter with burnt ends and West Texas beef and got sides of mac/cheese and beans. I asked about cornbread and they threw one in, but apparently it normally only comes with salads. How does that make any sense? Cornbread is meant for BBQ platters, not for salads. Apparently there's no way to even order it as a side! Well, the cornbread was good but not great. The mac/cheese was served lukewarm, so minus points for that, but they did something with the sauce that made it not your typical BBQ joint fare. The beans weren't that great until I poured some "sweet n spicy" BBQ sauce inside, and then they were great. The burnt ends weren't burnt enough for my liking, but they were nice and meaty and fatty and charred nonetheless. The West Texas beef is roast beef BBQ style, but thankfully tastes like it's made here and not just warmed-over deli meat. Since I was staying to watch the hockey game, I ordered dessert. I was down to the fruit cobbler (blackberry, boysenberry, marionberry when I went) and the brownie sundae. Glad I went with the cobbler. My server described it as medium-sized but it was huge. Very berryful, and a great homemade topping. The dinner itself was probably 3 stars, but the dessert brings the whole grade up. If I can make one suggestion here, it's to offer the burnt ends as their own meat. There are only two ways to get them, either on a sandwich or as part of a combination plate. I wonder if you could combine two meets and ask for them both to be burnt ends - in which case, why not just list it on the menu with a price of $14.95? If I can make a second suggestion - don't list on the top of the menu page that you can pick two of four sides, when you can really pick two of any of the regular sides listed. It's needlessly confusing. Finally, for the trifecta: Offer cornbread with everything! Real BBQ joints in the South always give you cornbread. Just make it a default like European restaurants and bread. Would I return to this or another Goodwoods location? If I'm in the area and feel like BBQ, sure.

I've been to Goodwood twice, and don't plan on going back. The first time it was a fine experience, but I will say we were hungover and any food was good food. The second time, yuck. My dad was visiting recently, so my boyfriend and I took him here as he was craving BBQ. We all split the "Family Style" ribs, which we got with chicken and brisket. Our sides were cornbread and fries (included already), and potato salad and coleslaw. My dad is a bit of a BBQ snob, but it's pretty justified as he's the best cook I've ever met. I really wish we would have let him cook instead of taking him here. None of the food was that good, and nothing tasted properly BBQ'd. Behind our booth, we could see a huge rotisserie full of chicken and ribs. This explained it: It seems that they cook their meat on the rotisserie, throw on some BBQ sauce and call it good. Yuck. The brisket was the only thing I actually enjoyed. The potato salad and coleslaw were both bland, and the cornbread extremely dry. The service was probably the only upside to the whole, over-priced meal. Our waitresses were friendly and accommodating. I'm not sure why people rave about Goodwood. Maybe they've never had real BBQ before? I can't be certain. All I know is that we won't ever be returning.

A cautionary tale, if you dine early in the afternoon (5:15'ish) don't order the St louis ribs! I have been a regular customer at the Spectrum St location since they opened, dining there on average 3 times a month. I almost always order the St Louis ribs . . . 98% of the time and 98% of the time they have been great. Yesterday I went there earlier than usual and ordered the ribs, surprisingly they were brought to my table in about two minutes after placing my order. They were barely warm and half way through the rack they may have been room temperature. I suspect they were holdovers from the lunch time crowd and had been kept in some sort of warming oven. They were also absolutely soaked in BBQ sauce, much more than usual, perhaps to keep them from drying out. Yes, I will go back, and yes I will order the ribs as usual, but it will be much later in the evening. One bad experience in all this time isn't justification to stop eating there.

This place is solid. Good food, quick and friendly service. Food 4 stars: I ordered the two meat combo ($11.99) it comes with two choices of meat and two sides. I chose the Pulled pork and the German sausage. Pulled pork 5/5- Amazing, some of the best pulled pork I've ever had. Its very tender and smoked perfectly. It's topped with their signature BBQ sauce which is on the sweet side, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. German sausage 4/5- Super flavorful and juicy. I'll have to make a trip to Germany to let you know how authentic it is, but I like it a lot. Sides- Coleslaw 5/5- Crisp, not too much sauce. Great flavor. This is my favorite coleslaw . I highly recommend it. Baked beans 4/5- These are fantastic, there is something missing though that I can't put my finger on. You won't go wrong with the baked beans either. If you can figure out what's missing, let me know. Service 3.5 stars Their service is fantastic. My only complaint is the violated one of my pet peeves. Not keeping my drink filled, there was a couple of times in the beginning of the meal where I had to flag down my server and ask for water. Other than that they are awesome and very friendly. If you are in the neighborhood or near anyone of there like 10 locations, I highly reccomend giving them a shot.

One of my favorite places. Onion rings are a must and the best in the WORLD! Steaks are awesome. Open air so can be a bit noisy, but great place and ambience. Service has always been top notch. Free wifi. Sports on tvs. Busy for dinner. Call ahead.

A few months ago Goodwood advertised on Boise's Craig's List for service staff. Applicants must, they said, be "rock stars" for customer service with at least a year (I think I got that interval right) in a high volume restaurant. It must have been one of those "rock star" hires who served us during our first visit to Goodwood. Because she did a stellar job from the moment she introduced herself as a trainee and the member of the staff who would be accompanying her for observation. Which is the long way of saying that among many very good things at Goodwood, at the top of the list for us is the simply splendid service. From the moment the wood smoke aroma entices you through the sparkling clean lobby to the friendly host to the seating in the "all people are welcome here" space and service, it was all a wonderful experience. And although we are people who lean vegetarian by choice most of the time, we also thought the BBQ at Goodwood was very good and even noted menu choices that would make a true vegetarian happy as well as some options for gluten free dining. BACKSTORY Started as a single restaurant in about 1999 by a couple of friends, Goodwood now has a Boise location, a Meridian location and a Utah location. Although technically a small chain, the pride of 'mom and pop shop' type ownership is evident everywhere. Very nice. VIBE Sparkling clean everywhere you look. Even the barbecue sauce bottles on each table glisten. (You'll find a roll of paper towels on each table too, just in case you need more than the hefty black cloth napkin at each place setting.) Staff is there in a flash to clean up empty plates. Walls are sort of cumin red on some walls and oregano green on others. Booth seating was very comfy. An inviting space with lots of windows and high ceilings with open duct work that is painted black. We saw people of all ages, from toddlers to octogenarians and all walks of life and physical abilities. All people are welcome here. A word about the sound system, as much as I am not normally a CW music fan, it fit in perfectly here and was at the just right level to support conversation and conviviality and not compete with it. A word about the loo...as clean as all else...is they have conveniently provided both wrapped mints and a pump bottle of mouthwash along with disposable cups at the sinks. I guess if you were on a hot date or going to an important business meeting, these could come in handy! MENU / FOOD Starting with the important piece of information that this is an all scratch kitchen. Everything is made her and made fresh, as our server told us. Including the ranch dressing which I consider an abomination in commercial production. But here, homemade as it should be, it was a delicious go with for our onion rings. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Because the second most important thing is save room for a house made dessert or take one with you! The menu is broad from appetizers (try the onion rings but stick to a half order...trust me) to salads to non bbq options like salmon and steak to the expected bbq and sides. Prices run from $2.19 (sides) to $17.99 (prime rib). We shared a half order of onion rings that came with yummy (seriously) fresh ranch dressing ($6.49), the pulled pork plate that came with two sides ($10.49) and ordered two more sides ($2.19 each) for a total of macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, baked beans and potato salad. Here I admit that when I go to a bbq place I am really there for the sides. And from this scratch made kitchen, the sides were good. I would order the beans and coleslaw again. We finished with Key Lime pie to go. When I go back I'm going to try one of their specialty cocktails, like the spiked lemonade, from the full bar. VALUE Total bill for all that food, no libations, for two with leftovers to travel back to the hotel was only $26.35 before tax. A great value. SERVICE Stellar. This is a team service approach. Our knowledgable, friendly, efficient server was 'in the lead' but the format here is teammates also run food, help clear table and so on. We did't feel hovered over but "poof" there was a server to do this or that, like remove used plates or fill water, before we needed them. Hot food was served nice and hot, cold food was served perfectly cold reflecting great coordination between front of house and kitchen. THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING: In large lot seems ample and for overflow there is an even larger lot just across the access road to the Homewood Suites. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: Accessible (aka ADA) parking right outside the front door (maybe 4 spaces). Level in and throughout. Several standard height tables and chairs. Also booths. Loo is accessible too. 3) ROOM SERVICE ANYONE?: When we are in Boise we typically stay at the Homewood Suites but we just learned about two weeks ago that Goodwood provides room service for the Homewood. Another reason to choose the hotel!

I recently moved from Atlanta, Georgia and this is a pretty great place for BBQ. Although it doesn't quite compare to what I'm traditionally used to, it definitely tastes like home. I devoured a half rack of baby backs that were very tender. The BBQ chicken was super moist but I found the pulled pork to be a bit dry. The place was packed on a Tuesday and now I know why! This is a place you must stop.
(4)

Nice decor, pleasant service. Pulled pork was good, skip the slaw. Baked beans were very good, reminded me of Texas-style beans but more subtle. Good beers, but poor whisky selection. I found another bar after leaving.
(4)
Anne S.
I had the "west Texas BBQ sandwich". It was definitely no Texas BBQ...it left me wanting more meat...more smokey flavor...just more. The steak fries were meh. But the brownie for desert made up for the lack-luster BBQ and lack of service...almost.

Came for lunch. Got the 3 meat combo w slaw and beans. More on that later. The are several other reviews that are right on the mark...enticing bbq smell as you enter; attentive staff; owner himself is working the guests and helping the staff; place is popular; sauce ain't bad (I liked the "Sweet & Sassy"). However, the food is (as another review notes) "eh eh". The meat has to be done right, before getting slathered w sauce. Brisket was dry and not very tasty at all (I had to slather it). Pulled pork was the same-dry and not very tasty (more slathering required). Sausage was tastiER, but not as a result of smoking but more due to ingredients (sorry but even that needed slathering). Sides of slaw (just ok; kind of "oniony" tasting) and beans (pretty good) were adequate. Best thing I had was the bread pudding--big and sweet, like my gramma. High marks on the service and owner; food (except my dessert) not so high. Perhaps there's better...somewhere in the potato mines of Idaho.

Have been going here since they opened almost 15 years ago. I will say this that the food and service has always been consistent. I think the reason is many a time I've seen the manager/owner helping out and interacting with the customers. That's how you manage a business Pricing is fair and have always had my food prepared in a reasonable amount of time. There's been a couple of times that the prime rib was dry or way to fatty, but they always made it right. If any improvements are to be made....drop the big screen T.V.s. it's not a sports bar. Just one of the few places that you can have a nice dinner. Also it can be a little on the nosy side.

The absolute best bbq in Boise. Hands down. I recommend the burnt ends. But, hurry! They are limited and go fast! The food s excellent. Hot, fresh and plentiful. The service is dry good. Nice ambiance and is a great environment for a couples night out on the town or a family. Highly recommended.

After a long day of hiking and driving it was nice to sit down and have some tasty BBQ. I was impressed with their homemade dressings and sauces as well as the batter on the onion rings which was tasty, although quite thick. Their pulled pork was really tender and juicy and the bun was fresh and soft; the beef was also cooked very well and the portions were quite big. The fries and cole slaw were both tasty; the slaw was creamy, not vinegary, but it isn't the overly creamy, drenched in dressing style which is nice although they use peanut oil in the slaw - a new one for me and maybe a little overkill. The atmosphere is nice although there are a lot of TVs around which seems unnecessary, but it's neat that you can see into the kitchen/prep area. This was a nice recommendation from our concierge and I was happy that it wasn't just generic bland BBQ.

I will always be a fan of Goodwood - any of their locations. I have worked for multiple locations and can tell you they are always clean, fresh, and respectful. Their service is held to an extremely high standard and always have managers roaming the floor to make sure every customer is comfortable and satisified. Food is fantastic, multiple choices for everyone in the family. The only drawback that I have ever heard from customers is that the atmosphere can get a little loud - and it certainly can. Regardless, must check it out.

Great staff. The owner walks around and greets his customers and helps his servers. If you like BBQ, this is the BEST place in Boise. I've been a fan since they've started about ten years a go, and they have been consistent since.

Great atmosphere and good food. The service was good and on point, it was a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The potato skins appetizer is to die for however the ribeye steak did lack some flavor, however overall experience was excellent.

I came here twice this week and will mix the two visits together. The second server I had was this little blonde named Lacey. Lacey from a farm town that started with a Q. From the moment I was seated, she was engaging, fun, and a blast to be around. Only her sitting and eating with us would have made it more fun. I had the st. Louis ribs the first night - fantastic! The second night I had the rib eye - fantastic! The beer selection was great and I really felt like the prices were VERY fair. I'll be back next time I'm in Boise wearing my black cowboy hat!

Okay barbecue. Always noisy. Good service. There were too many servers the last time I was there, so many one came by to ask how we liked our food before we even ate one bite. Not enough variety here. I'm spoiled....I've had good barbecue in Arkansas...nothing compares.
(2)
Missy B.
Very, very good customer service and barbecue that can hold it's own. The portions are a little smaller than some other places, but it's still plenty of food. Our glasses were never allowed to get less than half empty before they refilled them (six times!). They smoke the meats in house and we've always found them to be tender and juicy, not jerky-like (which has been our experience elsewhere *ahem...Micky Ray's*). The sides are okay, not as good as Texas Roadhouse or Famous Dave's, but still tasty. This is a really nice option for barbecue and the top notch service makes it a winner.
(4)
Douglas W.
We enjoyed an outstanding meal and great service here. My son's plate of ribs was stacked so high with beef and baby back ribs that it looked like the scene from the Flintstones. My wife and my barbecue chicken was delicious and the sides were great.
(5)
Heather F.
The overall experience was like being in Outback Steakhouse, but I would have rather gone there. The meat was undercooked and tasteless. Everything needed to be slathered with bbq's sauce in order for it to taste good. The bbq's sauce was excellent. The atmosphere was noisy and our waitress was not very attentive.
(2)
Tiffany B.
Delicious barbecue! Huge portion sizes and the smells are amazing the minute you walk in the door. Friendly and very attentive wait staff. We are here visiting and vacationing and if I happen to find myself in Boise again, will have to make a stop here for dinner. Prices are very reasonable, less than $40 for two people.

Very enjoyable!! Thanks to the reviews I read here I decided to check this place out last night for dinner. I was greeted immediately and felt very welcome. The food was very very good! The salad was crisp and fresh (not to mention fast!). The bartender also got my special requests correct which is rare! The pulled pork was very delicious as were both of their BBQ sauces that I tried. Keep up the good work!

You can't beat the food for the price. I travel a lot on business and this place is right next to the Hilton Garden Inn I stay at. The burnt ends brisket sandwich (served open-faced) is an amazing experience. I also tried the rack of ribs and the rib-eye steak. All good and affordable. I'd give it 4 stars. Add an extra star because they deliver to the hotel next door! :D

I've been eating here since they opened, at least a few times a year, and have never been let down. Smoked turkey, pulled porn, amazing smoked tender loin, they're all winners. My favorite are their mashed potatoes - I'm not sure what they do but they just taste better than the rest. Their chicken dishes such as the sweet chicken and chicken fried chicken are always great too. Service is always spot on.

If you had strong teeth, you can challenge the beef ribs. If you don't have, please give your teeth a break. Buffalo wings come only chicken drumsticks. Where is WING? The waiter and atmosphere are good, but the food needs to be improved.

This will be a different review but I was extremely impress with the attention to detail. First the food was so darn good. I loved it way too much. Secondly, the staff was great and well trained. The waitress we had was very friendly, helpful oh and super cute. haha. The thing that impressed me the most was the attention to detail. Our waitress was very mindful of the condition of our table. 3 males eating and making a big mess with napkins and bones etc. She would come back periodically and remove our soiled napkins and say that we need to tidy it up so she doesn't get into trouble with her manager. I also watched as another waitress clean and set up the table in front of us. I have never seen anyone do this before, she used a flash light to clean above the table, under the table and the area around. Really? isn't the reason to keep a restaurant dark is so that the customers don't see the mess hidden on the carpets and under the tables. I was sure to seek out the manager and let him know how much I appreciated the tight ship they ran. Wow. I will be sure to pay this place a visit next time I am in Boise.

Tried this on family trip and loved it. We usually go to a chain BBQ nearby and when the manager found out he made sure to visit with us and brought us sample of menu items we forgot to order... This is a family owned business with great food, great portions, and great service. The ribs were tender and well flavored. My kids found plenty to appeal to their tastes as well.

By far, the BEST customer service in Boise. I love that they open your to-go food and call out your items. No mistakes! The food is very good too. Their coleslaw is awesome! I thought I lost my wallet there and called them to inquire. The manager, Chris, was so nice. He actually went to get a flashlight to make sure he looked good enough for my wallet. Keep up the amazing service.

I like going here so often my wife is starting to get sick of it. Her fault for only ever ordering the same thing. I have to admit I have yet to stray from the sandwich menu though, pit boss burger, house smoked turkey club, brisket, and classic pulled pork are all so good. Get the loaded smashed potatoes, they are amazing and so worth the extra 50 cents. One of these days I'll con someone into buying me the smoked ribeye, been too cheap to get it myself so far. Both the Meridian and Boise locations are equally good in my opinion, I live closer to the Meridian one, but occasionally go to the Boise one when traffic is bad on Eagle.

The barbecue aroma was enticing as we entered, expecting great things. The server was attentive. Unfortunately, the prime rib was fatty and chewy. We were able to eat less than half of our meal. While my wife's potato and my sweet potato mash was good, the main staple (that "Goodwood" barbecue for which we came) never showed up. We won't be returning.
(1)

Two words: burnt ends. By all means my friend, burnt ends. Goodwood's standout dish to-go is the burnt ends, lots of chopped and succulent BBQed pork that is almost too good to be true, and even better doused with their signature spicy, BBQ sauce, which is excellent and packs a little heat. The sides are fine, but no standouts. We had passable potato salad and (unfortunately) not too creamy coleslaw. The sides were passable, not exceptional. We were disappointed to find out that while pulled chicken is on the menu, it apparently takes 3 hours advanced notice for them to prepare it (seriously folks???) so we settled on BBQed chicken pieces. These were moist and well prepared, but light on flavor and needed extra sauce to be truly tasty. I have to say the real test of BBQ for me is the meat and the sauce, and in terms of delivering, the moist burnt ends and accompanying spicy sauce (you must sauce up for maximum enjoyment) far surpassed the visit we had made the day before to the NW Rib Fest. After sampling several stands of BBQ at the NW Rib festival, we found that Greenwood's succulent burnt ends far surpassed. Kudos!

We gave this five stars because we saw no room for improvement in any aspect of the restaurant. The beef ribs, smoked turkey, mushrooms, and loaded potatoes were excellent. The entire staff was friendly, my iced tea was refilled continually, and the prices were reasonable. We were very impressed by the staff's promptness and attention to detail in keeping the place clean. I would highly recommend Goodwood BBQ for anyone traveling through Boise.

Very good BBq. Great service. Ribs were falling off the bone awesome. Our waiter was on the ball even had drink refills at table before we had to ask.
(5)
Nick D.
Considering the reasonable prices I gave them 5 stars because the staff was friendly, the beer was cold, the steak was a perfect medium and a good cut, the vegetables were good and the mash potatoes were unbelievably good (not sure if that's because I'm in Idaho!). The atmosphere is OK but the food and service were so good I had to give 5 stars!

Bree D.
A little pricey for us, but really good. The most DELICIOUS Texas sheet cake for dessert. Yummy! Husband had the steak (he liked it), I had the chicken tenders sandwich, which was GIGANTIC! I had the second half for lunch the next day. Great service. We'll be back.

I'm a repeat (& loyal) customer! Never had a bad (or less-than-awesome even) meal, selection of meat, or customer service. This place nails it. every. single. time. Always! I will always recommend this place for BBQ. The Ragin' Cajun Salad is pretty stellar, too!

We've been to this place a few times. I have to agree with some of the other reviewers, simply the BEST customer service I've ever had at a restaurant in Boise. It was so good I had to stop and tell the owner how impressed I was. He was very gracious. And the food is great. The ribs practically fall off the bone. Just really good BBQ. You won't be disappointed.

After sampling several Texas BBQ places in Dallas, I was disappointed in how sweet both the BBQ sauces were and passed on the BBQ offerings here. One of the guests in our party got a pulled pork sandwich and was very happy with it, so your mileage may vary. On the good side, the strawberry/apple/pecan/spinach salad was very good. If you order this make sure to get it with the grilled chicken, otherwise it will also be much too sweet. I can also recommend the sweet potato fries, but only if you eat them right away as they do get soggy when they cool. The cornbread is decent. The servers here are very nice and attentive, as well as seem to work in an efficient team.

Just ok BBQ. The only thing that tasted smoked was the chicken so go for that. We tried almost all the meats and they were ok but not good. They did accomidate our large family so that was a plus but on the whole the food was just ok.

Being from Kansas City, the BBQ Capitol of the Midwest, I am always eager to try other places interpretations of it. This isn't just good BBQ for Idaho, it's good BBQ period. Clearly, I am a bit biased to some of my hometown favorites but this place didn't dissappoint at all and had lots of options. The first thing I noticed was the attention to detail. I was greeted immediately, the decor is nice, warm and more upscale than other BBQ joints I've been to. The place extremly clean and everyone is on top of making sure it stays that way. The staff is all well trained, friendly and attentive. I got to chat with one of the owners and I observed him so engaged throughout my entire visit. He makes sure to check in with everyone, walks patrons out, clears tables, and sweeps the entry area. It's so refreshing to see someone take pride in their establishment and it clearly pays off. The employees seem happy to be there. There were certainly plenty of options on the menu from what looked to be delicious salads, sandwiches, etc. but I think the best way to try out a BBQ joint is to get some kind of mixed meat plate. I decided to with the pulled pork and the brisket which came with 2 sides: all the sides sounded great from the creamy coleslaw to the homestyle mashed potatoes but I went with the baked beans and a side salad. Good baked beans for a KC gal can be as much of an indicator of good BBQ as the meat itself and these beans were awfully good. They weren't as sweet as I normally like but they had a bit of a kick which I really enjoyed. They were a perfect consistency and had the right amount of smoke to them. I am always apprehensive when it comes to BBQ meats when at a new place. I find that more often than not, even places that say to have the best BBQ, the meats come out really dry which is just plain awful. This was not the case at Goodwood. The pulled pork and the brisket were incredibly flavorful and tender. The smoke ring on the brisket was right as it should be and I was thrilled with each bite. The BBQ came out dressed with their Sweet and Sassy sauce which was thick, sweet and smokey, very similar to some of the Kansas City sauces. The Sweet and Spicy had the same intital flavor but with an added kick in the end, which was heat but not overwhelming. The portion size was generous but not overwhelming leaving me just enough to take home some to have for dinner. Needless to say I would recommend this place to anyone and will be back again when I am back in town.

Love, love, love this place! I travel to Boise a lot for business and this is my go to dinner spot. It's very close to the hotel I usually stay at and the service and food is consistently awesome. I usually go for their soup/salad combo which is great for travelers trying to eat healthy. The veggies are fantastically fresh and the chicken tortilla soup is stellar. The manager even started recognizing me as a regular and gave me a complimentary dessert for being such a good patron. If you happen to go in the next few weeks get the white chocolate bread pudding- it's absolutely delish, but huge so make sure you split it!

Great food (beautiful ribs) not just great staff, but the best staff and owner; plus great decor of the kind you hope you'll find in the North West USA ..... and not overly expensive. This place is the best. PS We travel the USA for 4 months each year; looking for tasty, reasonably healthy, good value eating experiences where ever we go; focusing particularly on restaurants promising great ribs - Goodwood delivers in every area that matters.

Delish! I'm so full! Very good food! We had the 3 meat platter. Got brisket, barbecue chicken & burnt ends. It came with a wonderfully yummy pecan sweet potato & BBQ beans, corn bread & salad! I will come back! The meats are very smoky & tender. The mgr. came over to chat with us when we were done- pretty cool!

Great barbecue, and everything else excellent as well. The staff was friendly, attentive and prompt, and the food impressive. The only downside for our entire table was the fact that the steamed veggies (I low carb) were a bit limp, but everything else really wowed us. Can't really downgrade for this as who orders broccoli at a BBQ house? One caveat - like any good restaurant, they will run out of popular entrees - Brisket was not available twice in a row, but I attribute that to being any good barbecue houses' signature item. The baby backs were tender and meaty, and the BBQ beans are a must try for anyone visiting. Portions were ample but not oversized, and everything was properly prepared and presented. Most of all, sauce is left to the diner, not to the kitchen - way too many places try to hide dry meat by drowning it - not here. Price for value is great, especially at lunch, when I expected a half portion of meat compared to dinner, but it was very comparable. I haven't yet explaored half of the menu even though we all share, but every item we tried was a winner.

Very good Pulled Pork sandwich and Burnt Ends BBQ. Very attentive service. Definitely a keeper!

If you like BBQ beef ribs, then Goodwood is the only place in Boise to get them. The staff is well trained, and supervised by the owner, at least during my last visit. Beef ribs were cooked to my liking, and I sampled pork baby back ribs, which ere also delicious. The sauces are very tasty. Yum yum. Hard to balance a meal with such delicious meat but the vegetable side dishes will not disappoint. All in all, nice place to go when your own BBQ are poor, but I could do the same for my family at home for less.

While in Boise looking for where to have dinner driving around wound up at the mall/movie theater. All of the regular chain restaurants were dead, the parking lot for this place was packed so there I went. GREAT decision, very impressive service with food to match, had the prime rib and it was excellent.

Servers are amazing. Food is awesome and the service is just wonderful. Wow. I was on a cross-country trip and I had the chance to stop at different places in different states. This was my best stop. Truly recommend them!

pretty good place. their food would tempt but maybe not convert a vegetarian.

The BBQ was good, but the sauce they put on it is terrible. Be sure to request no sauce and just use one of the several different varieties they have on the tables.

So I eat barbeque a lot, but this was a seriously good meal. I really liked the nachos that came with the appetizer. Also I got the three meat with ribs, burnt ends, and brisket. It was excellent. The refills flowed throughout the meal.

Party of four went there on a Friday evening. Waited about 15-20 minutes for a table. Liked the ambiance. I ordered the two-item combo...pulled pork and beef brisket with a side of mashed potatoes and rice. It was good but nothing great. My husband enjoyed his prime ribs...'claimed it's the best he's had in a long time...it was kinda bland for my taste though. It didn't help that I wasn't feeling too good that evening...maybe it affected my appetite and taste buds. At any rate, the desserts saved the night. We shared the chocolate fudge brownie and the fruit cobbler....they were awesome!!! I wouldn't mind giving this place another try when I get the chance.

Don't like it. Had the burnt ends brisket sandwich for lunch. Cold an flavorless. There was no smokey flavor at all. The service was ok. They messed up my co-workers order, but quickly fixed it. Overall marginal marks from top to bottom.

A solid 4 stars. Having lived all over Texas I think I've had my share of BBQ and this is where I head to when I want brisket. A little pricey but really good.

What's not to like about Goodwood? The servers are great, they have a good drink selection and the smoked meats are out of this world. Love the baby backs, the pulled pork, smoked sausage, cloeslaw, sweet potatoes...

We visited Goodwood on a Thursday afternoon at about 12:30. It was surprisingly less busy than I had expected it to be, which bode well for us as we were trying to catch a 2:05 show at Edwards. Awesome. The food was decent. I've had much, much better BBQ but it certainly wasn't low quality or flavorless. My fiance and her friendly really enjoyed their salads, apparently they've been eating them for years and have always had great luck with them. Fresh ingredients and tasty dressings are a winning combination in salad land. I would be giving Goodwood 3.5 stars if it was possible, and I would certainly be giving them 4 if only their brisket was more flavorful. It just seemed to fall flat on my tongue unless I had it doused in sauce. No comment on the service or prices, both were just average as well.

The food was okay. I ended up liking my husband's food more than mine. He had the burnt ends and I had the brisket and pulled pork. The potato salad was really good...the beans not so much. Neither of us finished little our cup of beans. The service was great and the whole staff was very friendly. Overall I would go again if other people wanted to go but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

I go to Boise a few times a year for work, and I always end up eating at this place several times in the course of a week. Here's the skinny: Service: Impeccable service, and they will deliver to the hotels in the immediate vicinity (Hilton Garden & Homewood Suites). Food: If you want a taste of it all, go with the 4-meat combo ($19-) and you get 4-different meats. I'd recommend the Turkey, brisket, rib, and pulled pork. If you're trying to eat a bit healthier, go with the Salmon. Either way, you have to try the sweet potato side (very sweet, but delicious). Their 'sweet and sassy' bbq sauce is great as well. Price: expect to pay about $15-25 per person, depending on what you select.

Didn't realize this place was a chain. It was alright. Nothing to get excited about, nothing memorable.

Just OK. The service was good but the food was just fine. The pulled pork was good but the brisket was touch. Good sauce.

For someone who doesn't eat ribs, steak or pork, Goodwood offers a diverse menu of delicious plates for all eating preferences! I ALWAYS get the grilled chicken wrap filled with jack cheese, grilled chicken, pico de gallo all wrapped in a fluffy buttery tortilla. Ok, so pretty much the entire menu is not health conscious, but it is QUALITY conscious! Compared to other BBQ places in town, Goodwood is hands down the best in terms of quality and service. It's good old comfort BBQ with refinement. Nothing is overly greasy, and the presentation is always top-notch. This is a very busy place, and the servers are exceptional. This place has great management because its employees are rock stars! Also, the ranch dressing and house BBQ are BOMB! If nobody judges me, I'd gladly drink their house BBQ sauce from a water bottle.

I've had it with GOODWOOD! Three strikes and your are out! The first time I went to Goodwood, the food was great, the service was great. I couldn't finish my meal so I asked the waitress for a doggie bag. She said she would put it in a to go bag for me and bring it back. Well, she took our check and brough back the receipt to sign, which we did, when I asked where my steak was, she accidently threw it out. I know she felt bad because the manager came over and asked to buy us a desert, but we didn't want one and then he said he would cook us another small steak to go, but we said it's ok... and dicided to let it go. The next time we went to Goodwood, a waiter was bringing us water and spilt two glasses of water on our table by accident. After cleaning it up, I think two other waiters and the manager came over to clean it up, they apologized and again, it was OK. Things happen. Well tonight, my husband said he would go to Goodwood and get us some food to go... ribs and chicken. When I started eating my chicken that he brought home, it was RAW in the inside! And NOT PINK From the smoke... but raw, to where the genatinus muscel from the leg and thigh were red, pink and bloody between the joints and skin... it was awful! We had just come home from a long flight and there was no way we were driving back up Eagle Road to take back our meal. My husband called the restaurant and the watier said, "Some people get the pink smokey color confused with the meat being raw." My husband said, I know the difference between smokey pink and RAW and this is very RAW! The waiter then said, they stick a meat thermometer in EVERY CHICKEN that comes out of the oven and obviously, the temperature was stuck "IN THE WRONG PART OF THE CHIKEN." He said they would Make Sure all the chickens were coming out with the right temperature AND THEY WOULD CHECK EVERYONE! Well that's fine, buddy, but what about our meal? I mean, I'm not looking for a free bee or anything... but I thought an apology would be nice, but they were just going to make sure the chickens were all double checked from this point on???? What is this person thinking???? I'M NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN!!!!! Three times in a row something has happened to us! That is WAY TOO MUCH.... If you go there, and order chicken, emphisize COOKED CHICKEN!!!!

Have eaten at Goodwood at least a dozen times. Their servers are extremely friendly and you are made to feel comfortable and well taken care of. The brisket, chicken, ribs and turkey are always excellent. The only bad meal that I've ever had at Goodwood was when I decided to stick to my "heart healthy" diet and ordered the salmon. It was dry, flavorless and had that awesome white stuff on it from when they cooked it at too high of heat. But, that was my bad. You don't go to an awesome BBQ joint and order the entree that they provide for people who don't eat BBQ. Have been back a few times since and had some great red meat. I just can't go as often as I'd like.

Great BBQ!! I stopped by the other night after a 10 hr flight delay......needed some food BIG TIME. I ordered the Beef ribs, baby back ribs, beans and fries. The ribs were outstanding.......a huge plate of ribs for only 20.00. The beans and fries were good..........the cornbread was awesome! Great service..........great food!

Service was awesome. we had a group of 5 and ordered the family style with potato skins. Our waitress was ok did not seem very attentive. The food made up for the service though and we had a good time. I would definitely recommend if you are traveling through the area and want a step up from burgers and fries.

We got Goodwood to go on saturday, called in our order and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes and it was! My husband got the prime rib it was incredibly tender and juicy, he loves that there were a bunch of toppings for his potato. I got the chicken fried chicken. IT WAS THE SIZE OF MY HEAD. It was absolutely delicious and loved the garlic mashed potatos. My daughter just got a kid's cheeseburger she said it was good and like the fries.

Stopped in here on a road trip and was quite satisfied with my experience. Sat in the bar section and the bartender was away grabbing a food order so immediately one of the managers came over to take my order. Had a brief chat with him and he was very friendly and clearly concerned with creating a good customer experience. Ordered the burnt ends and ribs combo and it was pretty tasty. Wasn't a fan of the baked beans (a little on the runny side for me) but both BBQ sauces were top notch. Coming from TX i'm picky when it comes to smoked meats but I would absolutely visit this joint again.

I am not from Boise, but I have visited this place twice (once each time I visit here). The hostess is always waiting with the door open and a friendly smile. The BBQ is excellent! I also love the smashed potatoes covered in gravy, and the coleslaw which is not greasy or overly rich. The baby back ribs fall off the bone, as does the rotisserie half-chicken. The service was prompt and friendly and when I come back to Boise, I will be eating here again!!!

Good service, never pushy, good food! I just have never been blown away, but they do know how to cook a good steak. Prices are good :)

Exceptional service. Zack (manager) was very helpful and friendly. We asked for help choosing a BBQ and he brought out a plate with enough of each type for both of us to try. The turkey brisket is outstanding. The beef brisket great also. The pulled pork was not as smoky as I like it but tasty none the less. Round the meal out with their potato salad and baked beans which are the best around. this is definitely a surprising BBQ gem in an unexpected place.

Agreed that the staff is well trained, efficient and friendly...Large group- they handled it well.. Individual checks with the 17% gratuity added to it.. As for the food.. we left unimpressed..Crispy chicken salad had 4 big breaded logs laying atop it...More batter than chicken...little room in the dish to cut and work with it.... Chicken tortilla soup was very much a broth with large chunks of celery and 4 tortilla chips.. unlike anything I would call tortilla soup in the sense that I know it.. Side Caesar salad was the best but not unlike that on the dollar menu at McDonalds.. Went here because it was a group function.. Would not go again...

I am fortunate to be staying at a hotel (Hilton Garden Inn) nearby the Boise location and they use Goodwood as their room service provider for dinner time. I called, spoke to BJ and he recommended excellent choices of the smoked prime rib, salad w/ balsamic vinaigrette + some of their homemade bleu cheese dressing, and a baked potato. Yummy! I ordered the 8oz portion which was just right for me as I didn't want leftovers since I'm travelling. I would order this same meal again next time I'm here. Wasn't a fan of the cornbread as it was a bit spicy for my taste but I appreciate it wasn't the same 'old cornbread most places serve. All in all, great food and very quick, polite service by both BJ and delivery person.

My mom absolutely loves this place, so pretty much anytime we to go to Boise, I know we're going to Good Wood. The atmosphere is really nice for a bbq joint. There is usually fun music, friendly barstaff, and you can watch the kitchen prepare your meal. Best part is the servers are usually pretty hot AND competent. I love that. The menu is fairly standard barbecue with some southern favorites mixed in. The brisket and the potato salad are a must try. The house sauce is more sweet than tangy, but they provide several other choices of Good Wood sauce on the table, as well as wetnaps & paper towels. They have a great lunch menu that goes until 4:00- or as my parents call it "happy hour." They don't drink, so for them this is the happiest hour.

Good barbecue and sides, try the chicken, it is moist and tender. Friendly, prompt service. Good beer and wine selection, and appealing atmosphere. I'm a fan.

This looks like any other mass produced, fast food, bar-b-que place. And it is! What makes it unique is that the food is really tasty, not the cardboard flavored barbque that you might expect of a fast food type barbque operation. While not on the par of World Renowned 17th Street Barbque in Murphysboro, Illinois, it is very tasty. One of the highlights of our recent visit was the manager, Zack. Zack was so intusiastic that we would like his offerings he loaded up the table with samples of brisket, ribs, pork and chicken. I bit on the brisket and turkey and it was just fabulous. the sides were tasty and ample. Loved the beans and potato salad. If you don't know what you want ask Zack for a recommendation. He is spot on and everyone had a great time. Fellow Yelper, Jim T. and I vow to come back again. You should too! Nice job, Zack.

Crispy chicken salad....mmmmm....gutt buster! This is still one of the best restaurants in Boise. For a long time there was ONLY the steakhouse across the way, and it was always crowded. This is one of the best additions to our town. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that my husband is a competition BBQ guy....and yeah, its not like southern BBQ. But its pretty darned tasty and there's no dishes!

Excellent food! The ribs were very good, though they were not as tender as I had hoped. The potato salad was actually my favorite thing. The best I've ever tasted. Great service.

Food was good, service was better. Not up to expectation set by other reviewers. I've had better BBQ. The wait staff was friendly and timely. Building felt like a Dave's franchise....prefer run down shack for good BBQ atmosphere.

This is BBQ heaven. I have traveled all over the country and I have never had better BBQ anywhere. This includes places like Kansas City, St. Louis, Texas and Tennessee. The true test of a great BBQ place is the sides. Now the meats have to be spot on, that is a given and believe me Goodwood has ribs, brisket and sausage down to an art, but the sides can make or break a restaurant. Everything I tried was awesome right down to the berry cobbler. If you are within 200 miles of Boise come and try it for yourself. Trust me, after you eat till you're stuffed you will order a couple of things to go for the ride home.

Sure, this place rocks...if you like white man's barbecue. In the south or southwest this place would go out of business. Here it thrives. Because, after all, there's nothing but whiteys here. The cornbread is defintely nothing my Mama would recognize. The dinner rolls are soggy and awful. The bbq sauce is too sweet, but somewhat tangy. The service is pretty good, but the ambience is absymal, mainly because when the place is busy it's so loud you have to yell to be heard across the table. I've eaten there four times, but it was more out of desperation than anything else.

While here on a business trip, I came to Goodwood Barbecue after looking at some reviews here on yelp and because it was fairly close to the hotel I'm staying at. This place is really clean, and still has that "new" look to it still. The staff was very friendly, although my server kind of disappeared towards the end. I had the barbecue chicken, and was pleasantly surprised. It was very moist and tender, although I have to admit that most of the flavor was on the outside. The veggies I had were tasty as well, although one of the carrot pieces had a left a slight taste of soap - I guess I shouldn't have muttered under my breath after missing a turn earlier.

Being from TX, I was very skeptical to try BBQ in Idaho. I am happy to say I was pleasantly surprised. The brisket was very lean, yet flavorful although I would have preferred the sauce on the side. Turkey was moist and also flavorful and the coleslaw was delicious...that's coming from someone who is not a cole slaw fan unless it is on the sandwich, Carolina style. I would recommend this to anyone in the immediate area or travelers like myself who are looking for some good, reasonably priced BBQ.

*Update* After speaking with a manager of another department, the situation was ultimately resolved to my satisfaction. On one hand, the experience of dealing with this company was so terrible, I will never order catering through them again. On the other hand the food was plentiful and delicious. So I bring my review up to three stars to make it a neutral review. Best of luck to you! My review is about their catering service. I booked them for my wedding because a lot of my friends and family love the food from Goodwood, and because I felt the prices were pretty good. I was hesitant because I didn't want BBQ sauce within 100 feet of my dress, but got over it because they had the best bar arrangement out of all the approved vendors for my wedding venue. I have never enjoyed eating at the restaurant because I've never been wowed by the food, but it seems like a lot of others do like it--and when I told a few friends and family members that we'd decided to have Goodwood at the wedding, they were excited. So, in the end, I booked them because it seemed like a guaranteed crowed pleaser for an acceptable price. Then, just a couple of weeks before the wedding, I got the final quote where they revealed fees that they had never revealed to us previously (including a $440 fee for servers that I don't want, but apparently have to have). And, when I looked closely at the breakdown of the new bill, they increased the per-item prices without informing us, driving the bill up almost another $100. All of that drove our catering bill up $700 more than we expected! It's one thing to miss a delivery charge or gratuity and be surprised by an extra $50 or even $100, but this is outrageous. They have blown my tiny wedding budget out of the water, and it is too close to my wedding date to do anything about it--unless I want to just cancel and get cold-cut trays from Walmart. I'm not a wealthy girl--who is in this economy?--and frankly a $700 jump in my catering bill has put a blight on my wedding happiness. I'm going to pull myself up by the bootstraps and not let their bad business practices ruin my day, but they've done their part in putting a cloud over what has otherwise been the best thing in my life. Contract them as your catering company if you like, but plan for a couple hundred dollars more than you're quoted, just to be safe.

Excellent as usual. Our regular stop between Corvallis OR and SLC. Welcoming, positive folks. Great baby back and St. Louis ribs and sides. Only weak spot was onion rings that had started to cool. Fast I and out. Gracious when our group swelled by 1 and then 2 more as friends showed up. Thanks!

I'm not from Memphis or Texas or even Kansas. I don't claim to be qualified to review barbecue for barbecue's sake. But as restaurants go, I enjoy Goodwood thoroughly. The service is stellar: I've never had an empty water glass nor have I wanted for anything else. The food comes out quickly and is consistently tasty. I like the two sauces that adorn each table. When I'm in the mood for bbq, this is where we usually go, and I'm never sorry.

Hard to find veggie options. This is the case in all of Boise, and I'm not really a vegetarian anymore, so if you are a vegetarian out here, be aware of my first sentence up there. This place has become one of our standbys, even though it's not quick and it's not super cheap. I like their 'toss and turn chicken salad' but I sub the fried chicken from the 'crispy chicken salad' and lo, it is good stuff. Hubs loves the ribs and the beef brisket and the pulled pork. For appetizer, don't get a full stack of onion rings if you are two people. You will die. Half a stack is plenty. No remarkable desserts, but the cocktails are pretty good Expect a wait basically 5:30 pm on, Thursdays-Sundays, as lots of people go in groups, and lots of people eat out in Boise, and it's a popular place.

This was recommended by one of the locals and I decided to go since it was walking distance from my hotel. Greeted nicely by the host, service is good and they had an early dinner menu which was good. I must say that my brother in law's smoked baby back ribs are better. Too much sauce on all the meat and lots of sugar on the sauce. I had been to better barbecue restaurant-not this one. Not bad but not this one.
(3)

Outstanding beef brisket and roast turkey. Zack, the manager, won't give you a bad recommendation. You'll love the pork ribs and don't miss the beef ribs either. Our group of six had such a fantastic time. We'll be back the next time in Boise.

Great BBQ and a wonderful wait staff. From the manager to the hostess, our experience was perfect. We each ordered a three meat combo and all was delicious. For me the smoked turkey was the best, for my husband it was the brisket. Leftovers were taken by both. We really enjoyed our dining experience!!

Don't come here if you are looking for a good ribeye steak. The ribeyes here are fatty and not anything to write home about. But the barbecue pork sandwitches are really really good. We had Goodwood cater a training session we did at work and it was really good food. Maybe I just really hungry but the food was delicious.

Amazingly delicious and the price for the quality is suprisingly affordable.. Dinner for two eating off the top levels of the menu didn't go over $40..
(4)
Frederic W.
For Idaho, this is a great barbeque restaurant. Having eaten BBQ in places like Texas, Tennessee, and Florida, you'll have to forgive me for that disclaimer. Goodwood would have to significantly raise their standards if they wanted to compete in those places. But again, great BBQ place for Idaho.
(4)
Amanda C.
I have been to Goodwood several times both for lunch and dinner. To me the food tastes like a typical Applebee's type establishment where most of the ingredients were previously frozen. I wouldn't call it a BBQ place, more of burger restaurant. Stick to the burgers or you may be disappointed. Seems like a good place for big groups or children so if that's your thing Goodwood might be your place. The serving staff has been helpful every time I've gone so that's a definite bonus!

Goodwood is AMAZING!!! The food is wonderful, the staff is welcoming, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxed! We go here about once a month, and are always impressed! My favorite dish is the honey stung chicken sandwich!

This place rocks. I've eaten there at least 10 times and was never disappointed. They've always delivered hot tasty bbq that's second to none. If you are ever in Boise, this place should be on your list of restaurants to visit. Get a salad it comes with the best cornbread you'll ever have. This restaurant is well known and is well reviewed by many sites like: idahoeats.com chowhound yelp.com The one thing I must say about this restaurant is that their beer selection is lacking.

This place was really good. The bbq is yummmy! I especially love their spinach dip. Our waitress was very friendly and she got a big tip from us. Great service! The potato salad was good too. I would definitely come back here again. :)

Their service is excellent - the best I've seen at any restaurant in Boise, and I've lived here 26 years. The sides are decent, and the nacho platter is good, they use left over BBQ on the nachos. The BBQ is mediocre. They smoke the meat, but they undercook the brisket, so they have to chop it with sauce, or cut it paper thin. The pulled pork is usually dry, but OK. The BBQ sauce is Kansas City sweet, but the spicy version has a good bite to it. It is usually pretty busy and does get loud due to the lack of any sound dampening fixtures. There is much better BBQ in the Boise area.
(3)
Paul R.
The food was ok, but I've made better bbq and I've only been bbq'ing for a couple of months so that might be why I was disappointed. With the food coming in so far behind I don't think I'll go back soon.

I am STUFFED!!! Who would have thought that there would be a great BBQ place in Boise? I had the 2 meat combo meal. Turkey and pulled pork. Gots me some mashed taters and gravey and bbq beans. YUM! They put some of the Sweet N Sassy sauce on your plate. But you could be wild and pour some spicey stuff all over too. I did - too good! Only problem is that I feel like a split pig after eating all that food!

We had really good BBQ here and service and atmosphere were great. All four of us had great meals and we'd all go back. Yo Yo

Awesome BBQ and customer service can't be beat!! Love coming here every time I'm in town.

(4)Doug B.
One of my favorite places. Onion rings are a must and the best in the WORLD! Steaks are awesome. Open air so can be a bit noisy, but great place and ambience. Service has always been top notch. Free wifi. Sports on tvs. Busy for dinner. Call ahead.
(5)Aaron H.
We love this restaurant! The ribs are always made to perfection! The staff is great and if you have a problem with the food they are always willing to accommodate you! I always recommend Goodwood to my family when they are in town.
(4)Meryl W.
Always a favorite to take family or friends and for special occasions like birthdays.

I have been to texas, love eating in the bbq restaurants there, this restaurant in boise could cause you to believe thatyou are in texas. Any one who enjoys bbq, you owe it to your self to visit good wood
(5)Mary S.
(4)James B.
Nice decor, pleasant service. Pulled pork was good, skip the slaw. Baked beans were very good, reminded me of Texas-style beans but more subtle. Good beers, but poor whisky selection. I found another bar after leaving.
(4)Anne S.
I had the "west Texas BBQ sandwich". It was definitely no Texas BBQ...it left me wanting more meat...more smokey flavor...just more. The steak fries were meh. But the brownie for desert made up for the lack-luster BBQ and lack of service...almost.
(2)Dawn T S.
(3)Dave S.
(5)Mac M.
(5)Rebecca W.
Great service and atmosphere. Probably my favorite chain restaurant around here. We have also purchased the barbecue sauce here and it's a favorite.
(4)Rachel E.
(4)Ashley V.
(4)Danielle M.
Great staff. The owner walks around and greets his customers and helps his servers. If you like BBQ, this is the BEST place in Boise. I've been a fan since they've started about ten years a go, and they have been consistent since.
(5)Jeffrey H.
We always feel like we are getting an exceptional meal when we come to Goodwood. The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is very vibrant.
(5)Andrew R.
Great atmosphere and good food. The service was good and on point, it was a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The potato skins appetizer is to die for however the ribeye steak did lack some flavor, however overall experience was excellent.
(4)Patrick L.
(5)Patty F.
Okay barbecue. Always noisy. Good service. There were too many servers the last time I was there, so many one came by to ask how we liked our food before we even ate one bite. Not enough variety here. I'm spoiled....I've had good barbecue in Arkansas...nothing compares.
(2)Missy B.
(4)Douglas W.
We enjoyed an outstanding meal and great service here. My son's plate of ribs was stacked so high with beef and baby back ribs that it looked like the scene from the Flintstones. My wife and my barbecue chicken was delicious and the sides were great.
(5)Heather F.
(2)Tiffany B.
(4)Shaun W.
Pretty good food and great beer!
(4)Gregg J.
(4)Sean S.
(5)Sean B.
(5)David G.
Very good St Louis ribs, potato salad and cole slaw. Friendly service, and a tasty strawberry shortcake for dessert. They may be a chain, but they still do a great job.
(4)Steve S.
This place is awesome! I met two of the owners. They take great pride in their food and friendly welcoming staff. You can tell they love what they do. I plan to drop in every time I visit my son at Boise State.
(5)Chun-Lei L.
If you had strong teeth, you can challenge the beef ribs. If you don't have, please give your teeth a break. Buffalo wings come only chicken drumsticks. Where is WING? The waiter and atmosphere are good, but the food needs to be improved.
(3)Wayne S.
(5)Kathleen T.
(5)Jamie P.
(5)Mike K.
(5)Ken L.
(1)Rachel H.
Kudos!
(4)Randy A.
(5)Gina G.
Very good BBq. Great service. Ribs were falling off the bone awesome. Our waiter was on the ball even had drink refills at table before we had to ask.
(5)Nick D.
(5)Bree D.
A little pricey for us, but really good. The most DELICIOUS Texas sheet cake for dessert. Yummy! Husband had the steak (he liked it), I had the chicken tenders sandwich, which was GIGANTIC! I had the second half for lunch the next day. Great service. We'll be back.
(4)Her And I.
Best. Dinner. In... Boise. Ribs. Ribs. And more ribs. The service, coleslaw everything was excellent. Thanks to the young lady from Eugene (server). She was excellent.
(5)Megs H.
I'm a repeat (& loyal) customer! Never had a bad (or less-than-awesome even) meal, selection of meat, or customer service. This place nails it. every. single. time. Always! I will always recommend this place for BBQ. The Ragin' Cajun Salad is pretty stellar, too!
(5)Sandy W.
(5)Mike S.
--Food: **4 stars --Atmosphere: **4 stars --Service: **4 stars I love their West Texas Beef Ribs! Also their prime rib! --West Texas Beef Ribs Consistency: very good, consistently 5 stars. It's beefy, less meat compare to a pork rib, but more tasty b/c of
(5)Diane L.
(3)Jeremy M.
Very good chain style BBQ! Good prices!
(4)Andrew M.
Just ok BBQ. The only thing that tasted smoked was the chicken so go for that. We tried almost all the meats and they were ok but not good. They did accomidate our large family so that was a plus but on the whole the food was just ok.
(2)Kristen L.

(4)Darling S.

(4)Sebastian R.
Servers are amazing. Food is awesome and the service is just wonderful. Wow. I was on a cross-country trip and I had the chance to stop at different places in different states. This was my best stop. Truly recommend them!
(5)Chris B.
Awsome service amd food. Baby back ribs are the bomb.
(5)Doug T.
pretty good place. their food would tempt but maybe not convert a vegetarian.
(3)Robert M.
The BBQ was good, but the sauce they put on it is terrible. Be sure to request no sauce and just use one of the several different varieties they have on the tables.
(4)Brig A.
So I eat barbeque a lot, but this was a seriously good meal. I really liked the nachos that came with the appetizer. Also I got the three meat with ribs, burnt ends, and brisket. It was excellent. The refills flowed throughout the meal.
(5)Janice T.
(3)Anthony M.
Don't like it. Had the burnt ends brisket sandwich for lunch. Cold an flavorless. There was no smokey flavor at all. The service was ok. They messed up my co-workers order, but quickly fixed it. Overall marginal marks from top to bottom.
(2)Sarah D.
I had a great lunch - baby backs were fantastic! Good service and I had a nice experience.
(5)Daniel K.
A solid 4 stars. Having lived all over Texas I think I've had my share of BBQ and this is where I head to when I want brisket. A little pricey but really good.
(4)Scott B.
What's not to like about Goodwood? The servers are great, they have a good drink selection and the smoked meats are out of this world. Love the baby backs, the pulled pork, smoked sausage, cloeslaw, sweet potatoes...
(5)Nicholas R.
(3)Patty B.

(4)Amy C.
Didn't realize this place was a chain. It was alright. Nothing to get excited about, nothing memorable.
(3)Jack K.
Just OK. The service was good but the food was just fine. The pulled pork was good but the brisket was touch. Good sauce.
(3)Christina R.

(1)Ken A.
(4)Raider J.
(4)Lulu T.
I'm from NC so I'm particular about my BBQ. This was great!
(5)Daryl E.
Service was awesome. we had a group of 5 and ordered the family style with potato skins. Our waitress was ok did not seem very attentive. The food made up for the service though and we had a good time. I would definitely recommend if you are traveling through the area and want a step up from burgers and fries.
(4)Darcy F.
(4)Jon C.
(4)Ali G.
(4)Rachel Z.
Good service, never pushy, good food! I just have never been blown away, but they do know how to cook a good steak. Prices are good :)
(3)Tom H.
(5)Nora P.
(2)Leslie R.
(4)Emily J.
(4)Kelly O.
Definitley one of the best BBQ restaurants in town. Great service, great food!
(4)Robert B.
Good barbecue and sides, try the chicken, it is moist and tender. Friendly, prompt service. Good beer and wine selection, and appealing atmosphere. I'm a fan.
(4)Bill B.
(4)Sandi D.
(4)Mark S.
Excellent food! The ribs were very good, though they were not as tender as I had hoped. The potato salad was actually my favorite thing. The best I've ever tasted. Great service.
(4)John R.
Food was good, service was better. Not up to expectation set by other reviewers. I've had better BBQ. The wait staff was friendly and timely. Building felt like a Dave's franchise....prefer run down shack for good BBQ atmosphere.
(4)Doug S.
(5)Ray N.
(3)Lawrence R.
(4)Kate R.

(3)Matt S.
Lightly smoked prime rib is exquisite! Pulled pork is great! Service is the best I have found in Boise.
(5)Chad F.
Thanks!
(5)Mizz S.
(5)Gloria C.
(4)Grace R.
(3)Jim T.
Outstanding beef brisket and roast turkey. Zack, the manager, won't give you a bad recommendation. You'll love the pork ribs and don't miss the beef ribs either. Our group of six had such a fantastic time. We'll be back the next time in Boise.
(5)Linda F.
(5)Emile L.
Don't come here if you are looking for a good ribeye steak. The ribeyes here are fatty and not anything to write home about. But the barbecue pork sandwitches are really really good. We had Goodwood cater a training session we did at work and it was really good food. Maybe I just really hungry but the food was delicious.
(4)Doug S.
Amazingly delicious and the price for the quality is suprisingly affordable.. Dinner for two eating off the top levels of the menu didn't go over $40..
(4)Frederic W.
(4)Amanda C.
(2)Natalie S.
Goodwood is AMAZING!!! The food is wonderful, the staff is welcoming, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxed! We go here about once a month, and are always impressed! My favorite dish is the honey stung chicken sandwich!
(5)Chander S.
(5)Vera M.
This place was really good. The bbq is yummmy! I especially love their spinach dip. Our waitress was very friendly and she got a big tip from us. Great service! The potato salad was good too. I would definitely come back here again. :)
(4)Mark T.
(3)Paul R.
The food was ok, but I've made better bbq and I've only been bbq'ing for a couple of months so that might be why I was disappointed. With the food coming in so far behind I don't think I'll go back soon.
(3)Wesley J.
(5)
