Flying Pie is one of my top 2 pizza joints in town, most of the time my go-to pizza joint. As you can probably tell by my reviews of other establishments, I am a creature of habit. Once I find something I love, I rarely stray from it... My favorite option at Flying Pie is as follows: The zerto magnifico with sourdough crust. As a vegetarian option for my brother, you can substitute the spicy sausage with cream cheese... So everybody in the family is happy! I also really like the free "It's your name" day! Definitely something a little special to do for your birthday month, or if they post your name. I also enjoy their habanero month in August. My brother and I have a "friendly" (not so friendly, we are very competitive) competition as to how many pieces of habanero pizza we can consume in one sitting.... I do not recommend this. Alas, it is a lot of fun and we have great family memories at Flying Pie!

I am not feeling too superfluous right now, so you ain't gonna hear me beat around the bush. The negatives... Understaffed Cool not frosty beer mugs beer should be colder The positives... Friendly apologetic staff Wonderful, hot pizza with cheese that actually had taste, big thick slices of meat and veggies, perfectly cooked crust with a great yeasty taste Great and different selection of beers (we had a pitcher of Ayinger Brau Weiss beer, a fab beer from Germany). Loved that the pizza cook hollared out what type of pizza he was putting on the lunch buffet such as mesquite chicken, a no veggies just meats carnivore pizza, Samoan special, etc. Cozy, kinda collegiate atmosphere. Fair prices, $30 out the door for 2 lunch buffets, a pitcher of high end german beer and a small tip. We will be back!

Look, the pizza is pretty good. Not outstanding, but it is fine for a fair price. However, the service is either a hit or a miss. Actually, it's more accurate to say that the service is either passable or a big miss. I get it, they're busy and that affects service. Mistakes happen, I can roll with that. But when they do happen, make it right - don't just lay some whiny pseudo-hipster excuse and insincere apology on me when I calmly register my legitimate complaint about something that's pretty important. Better yet, fix the problem. So my advice is to double check your food before you go! And don't bother getting an over-priced salad to go with your pizza. For $5.00+ they'll just put some lettuce and a couple of toppings (that you don't get to choose) into a very small plastic container. Lame.

The pizza was amazing. The place is really funky and neat. And they serve beer! Their prices are pretty good especially if you do the buy one get one half off special. I will be going here again.

This is the best pizza in Boise. I am always trying to find an excuse to hit up Flying Pie. All of their pizzas are top quality (especially my favorite, the Garlic Chicken). They also have rotating beer taps that always keep me guessing. The staff is very friendly and willing to chat with you about the food, beer, or just life. These guys are pros. If you're wondering whether or not you should do pizza, just go here. Do it.

I had high hopes for this unique pizza place but it just didn't meet up to them. The service was friendly but the wait was very long and the pizza was just OK. Very doughy and just too much going on. The types of pizzas offered are interesting and flavorful but execution is off because you get a very thick overloaded piece of bread. One piece and you are full. Staff was young and loud. Just not my scene. I'll stick to regular pizza delivery joints for now.

I write this review with a bit of sadness as this is a place I really WANTED to like... and even walking out the door I still wanted to like it more than I did. So I'll start off with the positives before I get to how I was disappointed. The pizzas themselves are good, and the topping combinations are very creative. We went on a "Gourmet Night" and so we got to try some of their more inventive combinations. Truth be told the best thing we ate was the dessert pizza... fresh fruit and basil? Yum! The pizzas themselves were well proportioned in terms of the ratio of toppings, to cheese, to sauce. A lot of pizza places fall down in this respect as they overload one or the other. So in terms of the food itself, Flying Pie gets the job done. The problem is that they fall down pretty much everywhere else. The restaurant itself is terribly laid out, and the food service areas leave a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness and accessibility. Whenever a new round of pizzas is brought to the serving area, a huge line forms instantly and the pizzas are gone within minutes. There are no clean plates for return visits (which I'm sure has to be some kind of potential health violation) and there are no waiters/bussers clearing trash and such from tables. The salad bar also makes me fear for my health as items are not restocked and the bins are often dirty with "cross contamination" from items from other bins. The table layout is claustrophobic. Just trying to find room for a high chair at one of the larger tables was a major issue. I would say it is not a very "family friendly" place at all. And as I noted above, if you go on a "buffet" night, the line that forms every time new pizzas come out can be a major pain. Basically the restaurant is very poorly laid out, is very difficult to get around, and is a nightmare for small children. And to cap off our experience........ well, let's just say my entire family got very familiar with the bathroom later that night. So overall I don't see myself going back. The pizza itself was fine, and maybe I'd grab it as take out at some point in the future. But our experience at the restaurant itself was just so poor that I don't really see us eating there in the future... and that is somewhat unfortunate.

Great pizza. Great people. Very laid back and casual. I always like a pepperoni pizza that has great components, mainly enough good pizza sauce. So many places skimp on the damn sauce, but not here. This place put a smile on my face for sure after an already crazy stressful week. If you haven't had flying pie pizza, you need to come here and try it!

Being from out of state, We asked 4 locals about where the locals go for great pizza and Flying Pie Pizzaria was it! No other Pizzaria was even mentioned. We had a dinner for 40 people planned for the week we were in Boise. We just walked in and asked if they could help and the manager Kasey got all the details and shared her insight about how much food we would need and the different options we could consider. They made it so easy to plan our dinner event with all the Pizzaria favorites like Salad, Bread sticks, not to forget GREAT PIZZA with a unique Boise flare. Thank you so much the dinner was a huge success!

This review is for the Catering side of flying pie. If you have large groups and you looking for a quality prorecommend flying pie! And it is a bit more money than a chain pizza place but the quality is much better in my opinion. If you buy two five packs of pizza you get a pizza foe FREE. That's 11 pizzas! So for about a $125 I think that's not bad. And these are their specialty pizzas not just a one topping cheapo that you can get down the road. The only problem were having is which pizza to try first. :)

Not the best pizza in Boise at all. The unique topping combos can be pretty good, but the plain pizza tastes worse than frozen digiornos, and the breadsticks were practically stale. The marinara sauce which came with them was flavorless and thick--as though it had been sitting out too long. It was gloopy and to be honest, a little gross. Layout of the place was alright and functional. Staff was kind and friendly--fast, too. It's just a shame the food wasn't that great.

Have frequenting FP for well over a year. Started with a weekly lunch with a friend when they had there lunch slices then moved into a couple visits for dinner and tried there Habenaro pizza a couple times. Now they do there lunch buffet which for 3 slices and a drink is still 5 bucks with unlimited breadsticks is one of the best deals in town. All the employees were nice and sometime quirky but never had a bad experience. Is it the best pizza I have ever had.. NO.. but add the price and atmosphere and it's definitely a 5 star location..

One of the best pizzerias anywhere. Fantastic and helpful staff, will walk you through the menu and answer any questions you might have. Huge menu with lots of options. Great service delicious pizza. Went after reading other Yelp reviews and well worth the visit. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Boise area. Free order of breadsticks when you done in!

My husband and I love this place. They have the best pizza in the area. The Italian sausage and pepperoni are the best. They put just the right amount of toppings on the pizzas. We are not beer drinkers, but we love the ice cold glasses for soda. Unlike another reviewer, I like the crazy set up of the restaurant. It reminds me of a pizza parlor that is so good, it just expanded into another part of the building. In addition, I'm from New Orleans and this hole in the wall looking place is great. It doesn't look like much from the outside and the decor is so-so, but I come for the food!

Talk about awesome, Tuesday's are the best. Unlimited pizza (gourmet) breadsticks and salad for 8.50 you can't beat it. And the whirled famous pizza is the bomb.

One of the best pizzas I have ever had. Regardless of whether you pick a speciality pie or build your own....you will not be disappointed. Love the atmosphere. We took a party of 11 to this location for lunch. Everyone had a great time. Did not have the salad bar, but wanted to mention it looked really great. Don't miss this place!

Absolutely awesome place to eat! Great atmosphere and the staff is very friendly and detail oriented. My wife and I were super hungry for lunch and decided to check this place out based on the great reviews. I can see why the majority of reviews are highly favorable. I had the 10" Contest Combo and it was over the top yummy! Could only eat half due to the complimentary bread sticks they offer. Luckily there was a fridge and microwave in our hotel room for a snickety snack later! Definitely no scrimping on the toppings and the quality was superb. Price for the portion and quality was very fair. My wife is from New Jersey so she knows good pizza. Just ask her...lol She had the 10" cheese and said it was "the bomb"! Happy wife, happy life! Thank you Flying Pie! Can't wait til' next time! Gotta try a Growler of beer for the road next time.

Flying Pie serves up some seriously hot and hearty pizza. The sort of pizza that if you've had a couple of cocktails, the thought of it is like a siren song that sings to you--and the next thing you know, you and your friends have ordered their pizza and the dude is on your doorstep. And, upon answering the door...you see that so very generous soul clutching the food of the drunken gods and...well...you may be forced to say: "Dude... Thank you...thank you... I don't even know what to say.... Thank you...seriously...let's just.... Let's hug it out." What? (You don't know...you just wait....it'll happen to you too.) What I love about Flying Pie (yes...I also love them stone cold sober): -The crust options. Along with their original crust, they also have whole wheat or sourdough. -They also sell by the slice, if you want to hop in for a quick, satisfying lunch. -They are VERY generous with the toppings. -The workers have always been completely awesome to me. Whether on the phone or in person, they are always friendly and helpful. Plus...when you go in, they are downright enthusiastic about their pizza making. There are hoots, bells being rung, and orders zipping along a clothes line to pizza flingers in the back....it's very chaotic, in a totally cool way, you know, NOT in a chuckecheese sorta way. -Their Pesto Primavera specialty pizza...pesto, artichoke hearts, garlic, SHARP cheddar...seriously, it's just freaking ridiculous. -Their Mesquite Chicken pizza. This one isn't for everyone as it does have a light BBQ sauce as it's base--so nothing traditional about this pie--but my gosh, for a pizza with a decidedly American flare--yum. What I'm less amorous about: They are on the spendy side. And, on a busy Saturday night, parking is limited. But, minor annoyances that dissipate with the first bite. Ahhh...Flying Pie...you can fly my pie any ol' time...(wait...what?) Nothing...just...Get to it!

We were brought here by locals on a Saturday night. Place was hopping. We enjoyed breadsticks and two pizzas...the zambini and a vegetarian one. They give you a "card", so they know where to find you (after you place an order at the counter). Everything was hot and the pizzas were full of toppings. Filling and very good. Loved the jalapenos on the zambini...just the right amount. I will say that the salad bar was a mess and not at all appealing, and not too sure what to make of the giant ball of foil. But overall the place has character and was a good choice for us on a busy Saturday night. Love to find local good eats when traveling!

It's not a complete trip to Boise without stopping by Flying Pie for some pizza! Great lunch slices on week days, always a good selection of beers, and be sure to bring quarters to play video games and pinball while you eat. The staff is always friendly! Fill out a comment card and put your address in the back - they'll even write you a letter back. You won't regret it. Best pizza in town!

It really sucks that the employees attitudes doesn't match there food. Great pizza, great beer. Horrible customer service. I've never been in on a night where I wasn't treated like complete crap my entire dining experience. And it's usually always the heavy set Asian girl. She was beyond rude when my husband asked for her opinion on a beer, when bringing our pizzas out very sturnely demanded us to "move" our stuff off the table instead of politely asking. My god I couldn't believe how rude she was to every person who came up to her. I don't know who does the hiring here but they need to get some friendly staff so I can bring my family in for delicious pizza!

I struggled with what to rate this place. I've only been a few times. The food is fine. The service is usually okay. The atmosphere can be fun. The parking lot is awful. I would like to caution that, if you see your name on the sign stating it's 'your day', be sure to check out the website and know all the rules before going. The biggest rule being that you need to prove your identity. I was driving by this evening with my oldest son. My son loves pizza and we saw his name on the sign out front. So we stopped to see what that meant. The first thing they asked was if I could prove my son's name. Since I don't readily carry around a photo ID or anything for my nine year old, we were told we couldn't partake in the fun. I left with a disappointed boy. I understand the need for rules, as some people take advantage, though it is a tough lesson to learn for a child.

Probably best place to eat in the valley. As others have stated in poor reviews, the service is kind of spotty. But, that is really part of the charm of the place. They are more scattered than bad. Which adds to the feel. The one out in Meridian is far more "modern" feeling, if that is your thing. They can also be a bit slow. The thing is, is this really is the best pizza around. Their sour-dough crust is just simply amazing. Tons of different pizzas. I've never had a bad pizza. Period. They produce great pizzas, every time. If you want the best pizza in Boise, and understand the place is fun and a little off. This is your place. If you are overly stuffy, probably not your place. Oh, and you can also buy the pizza pieces to take home to make your own. I've taken home dough, sauce and cheese to grill my own pizza with my own toppings. I've also taken home the sauce and cheese to make french-bread pizza with. You really can't go wrong there!

If you have the cash, get the pizza. I always get the pesto primavera (sorry if I spelled that wrong) and it is so good on the first day I can eat WAY too much in one sitting. Don't even get me started on how glorious the second day pizza is. It. Is. Amazing. Every single human I have brought to this place has fallen in love no matter the pizza, and one night they were out of what goes on my normal pizza so I said "I like spicy, I'm a vegetarian, surprise me" and they did, with an EPIC CUSTOM pizza right out of their imagination and it was glorious. It is always busy and always kind of loud, being an introvert the loud sometimes gets to me but it vanishes the instant that the pizza makes contact with my taste buds. Do you like to draw? Do you like art? Then check out their awesome comment cards that are sometimes works of art, sometimes adorable, sometimes inspirational. The people who work there are divers and awesome. The fact that the place hires different kinds of people is actually the main reason I am willing to spend the extra money, not that the pizza isn't worth it, but if I'm going to spoil myself it might as well be in support of a great institution that celebrates unique employees. They have FUN at their job, it at least looks fun. I envy them! Are you visiting Boise? The only reason you shouldn't eat here is if you don't want other pizza ruined for you forever. You will only want this pizza after, and its very possible you will consider residence. Beer. Tripple pie. Do it. Do lots of it. Get a damn gallon if they let you, it is the best beer ever. They ruined chain pizza for me, I have ZERO desire to ever eat at a pizza hut or dominos. If you are on a diet, and you are going to splurge for pizza. Do not, I repeat DO NOT. Waste your life on chain pizza. Do this, eat this pizza, and you may never diet again!

Habanero pizza was crazy hot and tasty! Had the Samoan as well. This was my first time having a sourdough crust and I want it again! Will definitely be back. And the people who work there are a riot! So much fun. Be sure to honk the horn at the door on your way out. Oh by the way...they deliver not only pizza but their own beer as well!

we went there for the habanero pizza last july, but that pizza's only available in August. =( The decent beer selection made up for it.

Review is based on delivery. Can't say I've ever been into the restaurant before. HOWEVER, it is fantastic for delivery! Not gonna lie... I actually had it two out of three nights. I had a personal size pizza the first night, and it was so good that I got another one ordered to my hotel room a couple nights later. Speaking of hotel, they deliver to the Hyatt Place nearby, which I found to be quite nice. In terms of the pizza, it was loaded with flavorful toppings, there was a good amount of cheese, the delivery guy was friendly, and it was NOT greasy. If I'm in Boise again, I'll grab another pie at Flying Pie. Maybe I'll actually go inside the place :-).

Awesome local pizza joint. Huge selection of local and specialty beers, crust it good and well as the rest of the pizza. The crust is the essential part without that there's no pizza. Classic local joint, pinball ,kids running around, the crew is friendly local people got free bread. Place is cool Go in August for the habanero pizza challenge. It's offered in 3 levels. If tried level 1 & 2 it's hot as hell but it's very good. The pizza toppings are well designed. And they give you tips on how to survive. Don't drink water or beer, use a knife and fork to avoid hand-to-eyeball pepper/mace. Will try level 3 next season.

Wow. Had to travel to Boise for work, randomly picked a place, and the sourdough stromboli pizza is the best pie I've ever had. Ordered delivery so no idea on restaurant or service-but it came hot, late, and amazing.

This place reminds me more of a bar that also serves pizza. It has the music playing moderarely loud over the intercom, the noise level is about moderate but the place seems easy to maneuver and the staff is friendly...well, the cashier was friendly. I ordered a medium pizza. The pizza was great!

Well I will have to say Flying Pie Pizza strike 3 you are OUT!!!! After my last review I have not ordered pizza from you for awhile. But I finally decided hey let's give it another shot. Total MISTAKE on my part. I call up 6:05 the phone rang at least 15-20 times no one answers the phone. So I try again,10-15 rings before a girl answers it. I place my order give her my credit card #, exp date and security code. She says something and the phone hangs up. So I looked at my phone thinking....hmmmm they must be busy but that was a bit abrupt. 7:05 no pizza, 7:35 no pizza, 7:55 no pizza. REALLY??? So I try to call again and again it rings15-20 times no answer. I try again finally the same girl answers and I explained this James I ordered a couple pizzas, breadsticks, ranch n sauce, and a six pack of Coke. She then tells me oh that was me that took the order and the phone hung up so we didn't send it. Are you kidding me I asked....no I am not kidding you she said. I paused for thought ......she asks if I was still there.....so I let her know what it sounds like to be hung up on. If someone gives you their credit card info here's a Lil clue..... THEIR PROBLY SERIOUS ABOUT GETTING WHAT THEY ORDERED.....YOU IDIOT.....if you have any doubt try a Lil thing called customer service. I know what a concept!!!! Unfortunately after eating Flying Pie Pizza for 13 years I am DONE!!!!

This is some really good pizza. It is a must try if you are in Boise. I tried several vegetarian style pizzas and they were fantastic. They have a great selection of pizza choices so you can't go wrong with any of their offerings. Prices are reasonable and you will not be disappointed.

Really fun place to go and eat because the environment is always fun, exciting and friendly. They have many different options of pizzas but I usually go for my favorite since I was a kid and that's pepperoni. You can get a drink with your meal and they have a self serve soda and juice dispenser so you are able to get as many refills as you like and thats always a plus because you don't have to wait for your drink to be refilled by a waiter. They also have a nice seating area in the back of the restaurant so you can enjoy the shady outside while you eat. I reccomend this place to anyone who enjoys a fun and exciting environment.

I have adored Flying Pie for years. Alas, I feel like it is losing (has lost?) its edge. It started with the remodel of State, continued with the opening of Meridian (which doesn't even feel like a Flying Pie) and has continued on down from there The pizza is still good, though not as good, and the service is just ok. And frankly, it's rather overpriced. It always has been, but I was ok with that before. At least they still have the Trippel Pie, that's worth a couple stars all on its own! And it's probably the only reason I'll continue to make my way back in, even if only every several months.

Awesome Habanero pizza! Took longer than expected to actually have them make it, but it was one of the most awesome experiences. Hot as hell, but not excessively on the double habanero version and the special crust meant none of the heat made it onto my hands.

I felt like it was over priced and low quality. I wasn't impressed with the food especially because it was over priced. I don't mind spending extra for good food but this wasn't the place for me.

This is the only place we go to get pizza when we're home. The atmosphere is something to be praised: though loud, it's a fun kind of loud that settles your worries or stressors. The employees clearly love their jobs; they're one of the biggest reasons we love to eat there. The pizza is delicious. Hands-down, this is the best pizza joint in Boise, if not Idaho. Their eclectic menu pleases the most picky eater, and the mini salad bar IS the best salad bar in town. They have an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet on Tuesday nights: Gourmet Night. If you're looking for something different, you'll find it there. ...and I could write for pages about the beer at the Pie. We take home a growler full of our favorite that's on tap-in case you're wondering, it's different each time we visit. Though this is a pricier pizza than Pizza Hut or Domino's, you won't be disappointing. Buy local! Buy fresh!

Grabbed a vegetarian pizza for takeout and the wait time was reasonable and the pizza was delicious! The breadsticks were a huge hit too.

Just because it's an "Boise institution" doesn't make it great. That's my take on Flying Pie. After passing by the State St. location daily, we decided to try the Meridian location. Our first time at a Flying Pie. Underwhelming and pricey. Not the "gourmet" experience that I expected. It was a pizza. That's about it. If I'm going to spend +$20 on a specialty pizza + drinks, I can think of two other places in the Boise area I'd much rather go. Meh...

This is the BEST pizza I have ever had....in the World! I love everything about this place. From the awesome staff, to the amazing pizzas. The ingredients are fresh. They always have a great beer selection. They have a very low key, laid back atmosphere. I have never seen an employee there that was grouchy. My husband and I are huge fans, and always say we wish we could get some Flying Pie pizza here in Seattle.

There used to be a local chain of pizza joints where I grew up in Arizona called Pistol Pete's Pizza. They had the absolute best pizza. It was fluffy on top, crispy on the bottom and tasted heavenly. My dad used to take me there on Fridays, and it was also the venue of choice for honor roll luncheons. Then the franchise all but disappeared, its prior establishments now occupied by the average Peter Piper Pizza or the below average Chucky Cheese...and I've been on the search for the perfect pizza ever since. Then my husband told me about this place in Boise I just had to try. We walked in, and there was something familiar about the smell (besides the obvious.) We placed our order and they gave us a playing card. I remembered that Pistol Pete's used playing cards, too; purely coincidental, mind you...in fact, other unrelated pizza joints in other states utilize similar methods. Still, I had a good feeling. Sure enough, when they brought out my hand-tossed cheese pizza and I took my first bite, I was all but showing my "O face." It was like my beloved Pistol Pete's pizza all grow'd up. The sauce wasn't as sweet, but the crust was that perfect blend of fluffy on top and crispy on the bottom, and the cheese was wonderfully gooey. Service is negligible but the pizza is consistently great, at least when you dine in. We only ordered takeout once, and it didn't seem to be up to their usual standard. They even deliver beer, but we've never taken advantage of that. The restaurant is fairly family friendly, and often rowdy. Today we were sitting near an especially colorful group that liked to sing and speak loudly, but I can't complain about the noise considering our little angels were on less than angelic behavior. Parking is limited so I'd recommend giving it a try on a quiet afternoon instead of the busier evenings. It's pricy but wort a try.

Oh. My. God. Yelp and Man VS. Food, YOU LET US DOWN for the first time ever. We planned to go out of our way on our road trip from WA-SD-WA to hit Boise just to go here (and Big Jud's- another Man VS Food place) on the way back. What a bust, man. We ordered a #1 and a #2 from their menu, 12 inches. The place was pretty much empty, with a few tables who already had their food. We were told it would be 30-35 minutes. So, we sat down and waited (and I checked in on Yelp to help keep the time). And waited. And waited. I watched the guy making pizzas...and waited. I did see him put two pizzas in the warmer after about 55 mins, but he never called my name (I was watching and listening like a hawk) and then said he needed an order of breadsticks. Since we didn't have any breadsticks, I assumed it was for pick-up or something. I waited a few more minutes and then went up to ask someone. She said people usually check the warmer (which is behind the counter, where I would never feel comfortable crossing) themselves. Those two pizzas the dude put in the warmer were OUR pizzas and he NEVER called our name or thought..."hmmm...there are two people sitting at a table who have been there for an HOUR looking bored out of their f*cking mind...maybe I should ask them if these are their pizzas". I was really annoyed at that point. Had we not already paid, I would have left. Wish I hadn't given them a tip. Honestly, the pizza is nothing to write home about either. I thought it was average. Definitely not worth the wait. For the price, we could have gotten four Hot N Readies, which would have been equivalent aside from the extra toppings. The crust and sauce are identical to Little Ceasar's. They really play up the frat-esque decor and music to appeal to the college-age crowd. Kind of stupid for those of us who have lived those years and gotten it out of our system. What a disappointment.

Back again on a Friday night to try the triple habanero pizza. Long wait, but we were warned...before we ordered, we were warned it would be 50 minutes. Fair enough...it was actually less than 50 mins.Triple Hab was well executed...frankly not much spicier than the single... although I could see 3x as many habs on it. I strongly recommend adding pineapple...really rounds out the pie. I'll be back...great stuff. The quality in toppings really shows.

My favorite pizza! Staff is friendly and quirky. Great beer selections. Best little salad bar around. You have to try gourmet night on Tuesdays. Still trying to work up the nerve to try the habenero pizza.

I was having a great day and looking forward to ending it with making a pie at flying pie (It was supposedly my day), and after getting there find out they limit how many people get to participate. I was the 11th person to claim my day and apparently the folks in front of me had number 10. An hour round trip to there and I had friends come to join me. They took my friends money and told me to take a hike. Thanks flying pie for having my day end on a low note and exercising poor customer service.

This is one of the best pizza places in boise hands down. Pizza is my favorite food and the last time we went we got a huge PHOSGO. It was amazing. We got it to go and when we ate it we were in heaven! I know it is a little pricey but when you go halfsies on it with friends, it's not bad. The flavors, the color, the freshness, the taste..... I can't get enough of it. Plus the staff is super cool and listens to awesome music. This is by far the best pizza place in idaho hands down!

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I had the ability to complete food challenges like Adam Richman. Since that will never happen, I can at least visit restaurants featured on MVF. My idolization of Adam Richman is sort of irrelevant, though, since I did not even get a chance to try the habanero pizza. Maybe one day I will. I actually came here while visiting family in Boise, so between 18 of us, we ate a lot of pizza. We called ahead to make sure they could fit us in, and once we arrived were seated quickly at a cluster of tables. I definitely recommend the Zerto Magnifico, No Vegy Pieway and Sam I Am. Their cheese pizza was good enough to satisfy my picky nephew and quiet him down despite him being in a whiny mood. What really impressed me, though, was the beer selection. Absolutely try the Triple Pi Ale, that's specially brewed for them by the Sockeye Brewery. They have a picture on their website showing what's on tap at both locations, so check that out or ask your server. They did a great job at handling my large family. In ordering for so many people there was a misunderstanding about one of the pizzas, but they were able to quickly fix the problem. You really can't go wrong with good pizza and beer.

Wow - what a cool pizza joint! They're not reinventing the wheel by any means with their pizzas, but its just got a rad vibe inside the place. In an age where fancy-pants pizza parlours are all the rage, bench seating with red pew-like couches and napkins holders still have a soft spot in my heart. Reminds me of hitting the local pizza house after a job well done on the baseball diamond as a wee beeb growing up in Fallbrook, CA. These kind of pizzas are hard to categorize. They're not thin crust, and they're not deep dish. They've just some good ol' Americanized pies ranging from cheese the usual suspects like pepperoni, meat lovers, etc... to more sophisticated offerings that I didn't expect from Boise, like pizzas with smoked Gouda, Linguiça, Percorino Romano and homemade pesto and red sauces, along with an option for sourdough or whole wheat crust. Say what? They have a pretty vast selection of amazing draft beers as well. Delirium, Chimay, Sierra Nevada, Paulaner, and a ton more. They even go as far as to suggest a pairing for any of the specialty pizzas you order, printed right in front of ya on the menu at your table. In addition to the seriously quality eats/drinks, it has a quirky collection of hipster kids, families of 6-8, greasers, bikers and cool music streaming from the kitchen like Kings of Leon, Queens of the Stoneage, et al. I hear it was featured on the Food Network, which could explain the crazy lines to get your grub on. Do yourself a favor and visit during the week. Always a good call... even in Boise.

The staff is very friendly. For lunch had the Fromage slice and the Samoan slice. Pay at the counter, grab a seat, eat some free breadsticks, and wait for them to bring the pizza to you. They have lots of TV screens with cable to watch the game. Salad bar was small but got the job done. Kids enjoyed the place. It felt a bit dirty to me, especially in the bathroom area (cobwebs, dust, etc) but overall an okay experience. They'll also deliver to me (outside their normal area) if I place an order of $30 or more. Parking was easy. I'd go back. Again, staff is friendly, the quality is good, and the price is fair.

What a great pizza! I had the Triple Pie and it was extremely flavorful with just the right amount of spicy. The staff was great and it has a pretty cool atmosphere.

I've eaten at the Flying Pie four times now, and each time have been terribly disappointed by the pizza. It's just not good. The dough is flavorless and tough, and the sauce is bleh. I can't get why they are so popular here. The last time I stopped in, I nixed the idea of pizza and went with the salad bar instead. Pre-chopped lettuce, watery tomatoes, garbanzo beans, sunflower seeds, and a huge bowl of pinenuts. I put way too many pinenuts on the wilted lettuce and felt vindicated. Atmosphere is four stars. It's quirky and cool. But the food is awful. Might be a good place to drink beer with friends who have kids.

Visiting from out of town wanted to try something of a local favorite showed up 45 before closing...guy behind the counter was friendly and helpful. We bellied up to the bar for a local brew and enjoyed the atmosphere and pizza. Would come again and try some of there other gourmet pizzas. A++++ loved it.

Great beer selection. One of the best in town. Pizza! The best...ever. Make sure you go in August and try the Triple-Pi pizza. If it doesn't kill you it will make you appreciate being alive after you eat it. Hotter than hell! Make sure you have some of that fine beer handy to put the fire out. Their standard pizza are very good. The ingredient list for rolling your own is extensive. Good selection of crusts to choose from. The crew that works there is always friendly and they all look like they are having a fun time working to make your pizza. Makes for a fun atmosphere..

This place is awesome! The moment we walked through the door Billie Jo welcomed us like old friends! We had a local brew made just for the flying pie that was delicious! The kids loved the coloring books and video games and it was great to watch Sunday football! But above all the pizza was amazing!!! The only downside? The rude guests that let their children run all over the place even tried to sit on my kid's lap to play the game... Weird... Otherwise it was an amazing visit!! Will def come back!

Three stars overall, but four for atmosphere--it's quirky, fun, and they've got a 450-lb ball of tinfoil to greet you as you walk in the door. The pizza is tasty, but nothing to write home about. If their marinara sauce is home made, it sure doesn't taste any different than the stuff from the can, and the crust is pretty standard.

Flying Pie took some time to grow on me, but is now the I get pizza those most in Boise. When I first moved here, I happened upon FP...I immediately loved the atmosphere, the free breadsticks, and the fact they did everything with whole-wheat if requested. Unfortunately that first time i got a generic pepperoni pizza, and it was decent but nothing special. I went back a few times with meh results and it was only after I discovered Linguica (Basque Sausage), and Smoked Gouda cheese did I understand the deliciousness of FP and make me a frequent pie'er. Key here is get something unique, it might take a few times to get a combination that resonates, but once you do, you're golden. Lastly, the beer selection is clutch, as others have pointed out.

What can one say about the very best pizza ever made? I used to eat and drink here a couple times a week. The staff is friendly and down to earth and I love them. The food is absolutely out of this world and I miss it so much. I now live in Southern California and know that on each subsequent trip to Boise I will certainly make this a visit. Each and every August I order and devour several of their classic and signature TRIPLE HABANERO pizzas. This pie has been featured on Adam Richman's Man Vs Food on the Travel Channel and truly is a masterpiece! The beer is always cold and their taps are always unique and being changed frequently. If you color yourself a beer connoisseur then you simply must stop in and check out this beautifully unique gem!

Best pizza in Boise, most likely in all of Idaho! Just a fun place to go, where else will you find pictures of Ice Cube and Ice T on the soda machines!?!? The staff actually enjoys working there, and has fun with their customers. Highly recommended.

Our new hang out spot after we got crappy ass service at The Office. Three of us came out for some dinner and ended up getting some good food and beer along with some very friendly service. We started out with two pitchers of strong (8.0%+) beer and ordered two 12 inch pizzas (buy one, get the second one half off). A few minutes after we sat down, we got complimentary breadsticks. The beer was great - and before long, our pizza arrived. We got the "No Vegy" and "Triple Pie" - I liked the triple pie - sausage, bell peppers, and jalapenos with red pepper baked into the cheese AND crust. Mmm... The place seems to close relatively early on weekdays (10:30pm), but if you're already inside and just want to have a drink until they finish closing, the staff is willing to let you chill for a while. I'm thinking we'll be dropping by this place more often =) UPDATE: $20 growlers + servers that remember you is AWESOME. Also, if you bring your growler back to be recycled, you get $2 off your next growler purchase. SWEET.

After moving from Chicago and losing my favorite pizza place ever, the Flying Pie filled a little bit of the void of Lou's. It isn't Chicago style but it is oh so good! This isn't your average pizza joint so go prepared to try something new. The menu has a wide variety of interesting combos with high quality ingredients. Staff is happy and helpful. You can't ask for more than that.

Thursday evening and no line...my lucky day. Funky place, but in a good way. I would say this is some of the best pizza that i have ever had. The choices are eclectic and very tasty. My bro-in-law stuck with a peperoni and sausage while I had the Pesto Primavera (Whole wheat dough, pesto, sharp cheddar, mozzarella, mushroom, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, garlic) Both were great. They also have a small salad bar which is a bit cumbersome but worth standing in line for. Fresh items plus peperoni. Real blue cheese dressing that is so thick that is won't come out of the pitcher! Good selection of beers on tap with new selections rotating in. If you are in Boise and would like a great pizza with an interesting atmosphere...you much go to flying pie. s

I saw this place on Man vs. Food when he was in Boise so when my husband and I moved to Idaho, we had to try it. The atmosphere is awesome, the staff was very nice, but the pizza was awful. If you like pizza crammed with buttloads of cheese, this is your place. I personally like New York-style pizza and like to be able to taste the other ingredients on my pizza, but everything was overpowered by cheese. The crust itself was very good, very crispy, but if I had the chance to go back I would ask for less cheese.

I generally believe pizza costs way too much for what you get, so not a first choice in general. The place was open after 10pm as we rolled through Boise hungry like hippos. Cooks were singing but was imposing and kinda frat house like. Way too tired for that shit. Food took 25 mins which was a decent pizza. Still 10 bucks can get you a lot of groceries. Slightly annoying

I've never had a sourdough crust before and now I'm hooked. The atmosphere was fantastic - it is a local hangout and reminded me of the way pizza places used to be back in the 80s. It was complete right down to the arcade machines. I got a 12" pizza which turned out to be enough for two meals because I didn't know they included breadsticks with the pizzas! Due to the popularity, parking can be difficult - there is a well hidden lot behind the building.

This is one of those places where you had to grow up eating it to like it. Very average with some of the worst attitude in the valley. This is the neighborhood pizza place...could walk to it...and have only had it three times over the past 10 years...not very good. I drive past it three or so miles to much better options: Pie Hole, Lulu's, and Guido's.

One of the most popular pizza restaurants in Boise by far. Flying Pie is a cool spot to unwind with the family and friends anytime during the week when you're craving a good slice of pizza. The toppings are fresh and the dough is the right consistency - not too thin or thick. They feature several unique beers worth trying and the familiar ones with 'drinkability.' The people who work there are fun and funky which matches the atmosphere. Where else can you get pizza that features a giant gong that workers hit whenever they get tipped? Also, where else can you go to draw your own interpretation of a pizza face? Flying pie gets flying praise from this chick.

The customer service here is to me amazing, I had a great experience, I came in there for lunch and was limited on time, I got my salad pizza and drink super fast, btw, I loved the salad bar. Overall it was really great to have a lunch that didnt make me late for work!

I heard about Flying Pie from the travel channel where it was featured on Man vs. food. I DID not do the challenge of eating a habanero pizza, but I did have their hawaiian or somoan as they called it and it was amazing. LOVE the different cheeses they put on it. It was a definite change from the traditional, but still on the same line. I did try the supreme, but didn't really like it. But I don't really like supreme anywhere.

We've taken out from Flying Pie a couple of times now. The first time was really good. We got traditional toppings: Contest Combo and Triple Pie. The Combo was good. The Triple wasn't bad, but I wasn't overly fond of the linguica. It was a bit hard. Overall, we were happy with the service and the pies. The reason they get a 3 star, however, is the last time we ordered. Bleck. We got the Chili-n-Lime and the Denver pie. We actually didn't finish either one. The Chile-n-Lime had odd flavors and the black bean sauce wasn't good. The Denver also was weird and the alfredo sauce did not mesh well, nor was it all that great. All in all, I think they are a good pizza company. i would just stick with the traditional toppings and sauces b/c they do those very well.

Flying Pie is some of the best pizza in town. They usually have one great beer on tap and recently they have a triple that compliments their triple pie and both are delicious. Great local joint, has gotten a little spendy but is still worth it! Staff can come off a little judge mental but they intend no harm.

This has always been my favorite pizza place since I discovered it back in the 90's nothing else in the NW comes even close. My kids loved the giant ball of foil that continues to grow, the quirky and hip staff and the fact that they got to design a pie face on the menu and turn it in each time we visit. Kids are now 20 and up and they still eat there! No need to review anything else, great beer, great pies, gourmet night is tuesday and visit their web site for more info. I bring all my out of town friends and family here and they all rave about it too!local or visiting then Flying Pie is a must when the pizza crave hits.

to be honest, the pizza here is okay. but i dont think i have ever once craved for a pie from here though. i have been a here a few times, and none of the signature pies really do anything for me. so i usually will end up making my own. pizza places i like more: lucky 13 (couple bucks more expensive, similar style of pizza), tony's (thin crust, kind of classy-ish, not really room for big families) and old chicago (deep dish). i even like guido's pizza more. some people will probably argue with me as flying pie has a pretty cult following, but those are my tastes, and i hope to offer some insight who might have similar tastes. the beer selection is very good and is the primary reason i keep coming back :P one thing that does kind of irk me about flying pie is the number of flies flying around the state street location, maybe it was just a recent thing, but kinda grossed me out a lil.

Flying pie is an institution in Boise. Very fun atmosphere, friendly staff and great beer selection, They give you THREE OUNCE SAMPLES of beer to try before you buy. To top it all off, the pizza is pretty darn good. There is nothing really different or new about the pizza- they simply use good quality fresh ingredients, and lots of them. Here is a tip if you are visiting or new to Boise: go on Tuesday nights. They have "gourmet" night there. It's all you can eat pizza for $7, but the kicker is, all night they are serving "test" pizzas- new recipes that aren't on the menu that they are trying out. Some of them are amazing, some are pretty out there. With the all you can eat you get breadsticks, salad and on occasion, they will bring you a desert pizza to your table. Tons of fun.

Incredible New York style pies in unique recipes made by Boise's alternative denizens. The place is a dive, which just adds to the mystique. Tons of beers are available from all over the world with a rotation of on tap choices. Can't miss food.

I've been around the world and this pizza is without a doubt the best pizza i've ever eaten. When i was stationed in Mtn Home AFB many years ago we used to travel to Boise for some of this pie. It's too bad i can't get pizza like that here in Ohio. One day i'll travel back and this will be on the top of my to eat lists. You will find no other as good as Flying Pie.

Ok, I am picky with my Pizza's. This is my favorite location and the beer selection is freaking incredible. The owner does a great job getting beers that cannot be found anywhere else. The pizza choices are amazing. The staff is the best thing about the place. Coolest people you will meet and very friendly.

Way slow... I timed it, took an hour from the time we placed our order til we got it... My husband asked for a box for our left overs.. They gave us aluminum foil.. Pricy..was good but for the price.. Lousy service.. Not sure it was worth it.

This is one of two great pizza places in Boise. (Casanova is the other--more traditionally Italian pizza) They are consistently delicious, and have a great beer selection. It is also one of the few restaurants in town with a consistently nice wait staff. Other restaurant managers should take lessons from the Flying Pie!

Michael B.
If I could have given it 4 and 1/2 stars I would have. The pizza overall is a 4. They have some excellent pizzas like the PHOSGO, NO Veggie PieWay, Triple Pi, and Zamboni, but they also have some misses. So I can't give them a 5 for the pizza. The servers are cool, and the atmosphere ranges from friendly to raucus (during a Boise St football game). The thing that really sets Flying Pie apart is the beer. They have the best selection of beers on tap I have ever found. They rotate what is on tap, and if you live in the area, you can even have them call you when your beer is tapped. They always have their own Triple Pi ale on tap, which is excellent, but my personal favorite has got to be Rasputin Imperial Stout, creamy chocolate and coffee goodness. Where else can you find this beer on tap? As far as I know only at the brewery in Ukiah, California. So, go to Flying Pie for good pizza, fun atmosphere, and great beer.

Introduced me to the best beer yet - from my own backyard! Boont Amber Ale, and a little Zambini pizza to go with it. The jalapenos weren't that hot, but otherwise, deelish!

I'm not sure if I need to offer my recommendation of Flying Pie, when I know it's already such a lauded Boise pizza establishment. But, oh well, here we go. We were hoping to get lunch at George's down the road, but it was closed (on a Sunday), so we drove up the way to the Flying Pie. I really like how chill and friendly the service was. We shared a 10" Stromboli and I got a salad bar. Yum yum yum. Everything was fresh and tasty, and the cucumber slices were fat and thick--not soggy and seedy. I'd had their take on a Hawaiian pizza before, and was a little unimpressed--too cheesy and rich. The Stromboli, however, was awesome. Plenty of toppings and a fabulous thick crust. Interior is great for a group, or even just two--somehow a mix of your favorite townie bar, and "cool" restaurant all wrapped into one. It's not for the hipster "mod" set--but it's cozy and friendly. There were people watching football when we were there, and the atmosphere was totally relaxed. Also, how awesome is it that they deliver beer and wine?

Simply the best pizza in Boise. I have been frequenting the pie since the early 90's and have yet to find a better slice. Gourmet night is unmatchable. Absolutely, the best.

I'm an ex-Boisean, and this is one of those cravings that I simply can't fulfill outside of my home town. The fantastic array of beers, the tasty collection of pizzas, the enthusiastic granola-loving staff--yeah, I'm talking about you, all of you--it's great. Try a zappie, show up for gourmet night, and ask for the free breadsticks.

I'm visiting Boise from San Diego, and my buddy Colin's stepdad Wayne (who was awesome enough to put us up for a week while we visited) informed me that for dinner tonight, we were going to have pizza from the Flying Pie. I had been hoping to partake in the fine pizzas that Yelp promised this place had, and I was NOT disappointed! Their pizza was perfectly baked, not burned, crispy crust that was NOT dripping with soggy oil like most pizzas I've faced in the past. Our choice of toppings was a safe Canadian Bacon and pineapple, which (albeit not very itneresting) happens to be my fave, and I was more than pleased with the delivery. The nicest thing about the exchange was the customer service, though. I eavesdropped on the convo (not hard, the house here is pretty cozy) and the guy on the other end either A) recognized Wayne by his first name or B) had caller ID AND an excellent rapport with the customers. Either way, good job guy-taking-the-phone-calls!

Although this is not my favorite pizza in town this is a very good pizza. I used to live across the street from here and would go here quite regularly. This place getting very busy in the evening and on the weekends.

What a great laid back place to enjoy some pizza. The salad bar was so-so. But then again I didn't really go here for salad although I would highly recommend the blue cheese dressing. We went for the Samoan & Fromage a Trois pizza. Both great. The crust was thin so you can concentrate on the deliciousness on top. The beer on tap had great choices. The Alaskan summer ale was smooth & refreshing. After trying a sample of the Triple Pi Ale we took home a growler. So good! Kids can be themselves here and a parent can relax.

This is simply the best pizza in the area. In fact, this is the only pizza that I'll eat. The Pie has a huge selection of different pizzas, and I appreciate that I can get any pizza on a whole wheat crust if desired. The staff is fun and hilarious, the bathrooms are decorated in such a way that you want to go even if you don't have "to go". If you get a chance to check out their Tuesday night buffet, it's worth it. For a reasonable price, you get all you can eat salad, breadsticks, and pizza. They often make creative experimental pizzas on those nights: some are amazing, some flop completely. However, you can just set aside the ones you don't like and try another. They also have "Your day" where they select a name and put it on their reader board. If your name is up there, you get to go in, put on an apron, make any pizza you want, and take it with you - all for free! Love it!!

Best pizza, bar none. PHOSGOs is best ever. Even delivered once to Denver, CO.
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

(5)Rich L.
(4)Dave R.

(5)Kyle C.
Do it.
(5)Lydier H.
I am a big fan for this local based a pizza place. I am giving 100% support.
(5)Alisha L.

(5)Jim S.
(5)Chris H.
(5)Erica Z.
(2)Rob S.
(5)Jay N.
(5)Lisa D.
(5)Ian R.
Talk about awesome, Tuesday's are the best. Unlimited pizza (gourmet) breadsticks and salad for 8.50 you can't beat it. And the whirled famous pizza is the bomb.
(5)Jon B.
(5)Gus V.
(5)Steve M.
Been eating here for years but been coming more often now that they do a lunch pizza/salad buffet! Great deal for tasty pizza you will remember because of their top notch ingredients and combinations!

(4)Matthew E.
I... Love... This.... Pizza... That is all. he staff is super friendly and warm. Good beers, fun atmosphere, and they are a local joint that does good things for the community.
(5)Lori R.
(4)Rachel H.
(5)Torri T.
(1)Doug T.
triple habanero August only #mvf. it was a bit more than disappointing.. like a shakey's or a round table pizza with a more limited buffet
(2)Bill M.
(2)Kevin R.
(5)Shear M.
This is the best pie ever! never have i had pizza that tastes as good as the pie! the staff is beyond amazing and I feel like im eating at a friends house when i dine in.
(5)Dee O.
(5)Charles M.
(5)jason h.
we went there for the habanero pizza last july, but that pizza's only available in August. =( The decent beer selection made up for it.
(4)Jaime J.
I love flying pie - have never created my own pizza here, I always order their customs. Really yummy.
(5)Kevin H.
(5)Joe D.
Visiting the area and stopped in based on reviews. Excellent service and food highly recommended!
(5)J P.
(4)Mai C.
Best pizza in town, hands down. I also love just being inside of this location, it has such a great vibe and you can tell that the staff enjoys working here. I'll be back!
(5)Zachary S.
Wow. Had to travel to Boise for work, randomly picked a place, and the sourdough stromboli pizza is the best pie I've ever had. Ordered delivery so no idea on restaurant or service-but it came hot, late, and amazing.
(5)Marley L.
My first recommendation for out of towners! Great pizza, great environment! They also have a great beer selection! Best pizzeria in Boise!
(5)Shana H.
This place reminds me more of a bar that also serves pizza. It has the music playing moderarely loud over the intercom, the noise level is about moderate but the place seems easy to maneuver and the staff is friendly...well, the cashier was friendly. I ordered a medium pizza. The pizza was great!
(3)Wm D.
Huge fan--there's a reason they're always voted best of Boise.
(5)James P.
(1)ISAAC J.
This is some really good pizza. It is a must try if you are in Boise. I tried several vegetarian style pizzas and they were fantastic. They have a great selection of pizza choices so you can't go wrong with any of their offerings. Prices are reasonable and you will not be disappointed.
(4)Alan Y.
(3)Marie J.
(2)Essanie W.
GREAT BEER!! 3X pie is so satisfying! Get yourself a growler and enjoy at home too! Pizza is also great! Good crust and great SELECTION of pizza choices! Cool artwork , staff is ... eccentric :)
(4)Zachary A.
Menu is tough to understand at first, but the it's worth the confusion. Great place for some good grub.
(4)George D.
Awesome Habanero pizza! Took longer than expected to actually have them make it, but it was one of the most awesome experiences. Hot as hell, but not excessively on the double habanero version and the special crust meant none of the heat made it onto my hands.
(5)Jesse D.
I felt like it was over priced and low quality. I wasn't impressed with the food especially because it was over priced. I don't mind spending extra for good food but this wasn't the place for me.
(2)Kyle M.
Great pizza. Love local small business especially pizza places. They have this bbq chicken calzone that is really good they also do delivery and just have a fun atmosphere all around if you're looking to get a bite to eat on a late night this would be the place to go
(5)James H.
Excellent pizza! Stopped in here while visiting friends in Nampa. A good balance of sauce and crust. Don't forget to honk the old bicycle horn on you way in for something special.
(5)M H.
Buy local! Buy fresh!
(5)Rebekah L.
Grabbed a vegetarian pizza for takeout and the wait time was reasonable and the pizza was delicious! The breadsticks were a huge hit too.
(4)TheStranger 2.
Meh...
(2)nina m.
This place is so cool, Loved the atmosphere! The pizza crust is really good and tasty 5 stars for the pizza , they have a spinning oven ! They have a great selection of Beer and some made at local brewery in town ( sockeye brewery) . The staff very nice and pleasant. If I lived In Idaho for sure I will visiting the pizzeria often for some goodness pizza
(5)Paige F.
(5)Ricky M.
This place rocks! I was a total fan of there pizza there garlic chicken pizza was to die for not to mention there not stingy with the toppings. All there pizzas are unique and different and far from the chain restaurants
(5)Jeff R.
Excellent staff, excellent service, excellent pizza! The trifecta of happiness! Highly recommend!
(5)Aly W.
(3)Gabe U.
You have to try the no vegie pieway #6 special! It is by far the BEST pizza I have ever eaten. Give it a try. I am hooked!
(5)Megan S.
Oh. My.
(2)Chris G.
(5)Darin B.
My favorite pizza! Staff is friendly and quirky. Great beer selections. Best little salad bar around. You have to try gourmet night on Tuesdays. Still trying to work up the nerve to try the habenero pizza.
(5)Taso K.

(5)Bryce p.
Best pizza in town! Great, friendly staff and the company seems to care about their employees with a great culture. I would highly recommend visiting if you are in Boise.

(5)Derek J.
(3)Brian D.
(5)DaTrut H.
Really good food. Crunchy crust. Casual place to hang out. Not very nice inside but thats not what theyre going for.
(4)cedro t.
So many specialty pizzas and everyone is crazy good! Don't tell people about the Tuesday night deal... Shhhhh
(5)Jesse D.
(5)Scott B.
Best pizza in Boise, most likely in all of Idaho! Just a fun place to go, where else will you find pictures of Ice Cube and Ice T on the soda machines!?!? The staff actually enjoys working there, and has fun with their customers. Highly recommended.
(5)Sierra D.
Fun place. Friendly staff. Pizza was good but just average. Not sure the heath department has visited this place for awhile.
(3)Holly K.
One of the first places we went when we moved here. Very cool pizzas and beer pairings! Sweet friendly employees. Love that they deliver pizza AND beer
(4)Stanton C.

(4)Stan B.
If you are in Boise and would like a great pizza with an interesting atmosphere...you much go to flying pie. s

Do yourself a favor and pick a flavor

I saw this place on Man vs. Food when he was in Boise so when my husband and I moved to Idaho, we had to try it. The atmosphere is awesome, the staff was very nice, but the pizza was awful. If you like pizza crammed with buttloads of cheese, this is your place. I personally like New York-style pizza and like to be able to taste the other ingredients on my pizza, but everything was overpowered by cheese. The crust itself was very good, very crispy, but if I had the chance to go back I would ask for less cheese.
(3)sarah c.
(2)George L.
(5)Joan W.
(1)Erin T.
(4)Terry S.
The customer service here is to me amazing, I had a great experience, I came in there for lunch and was limited on time, I got my salad pizza and drink super fast, btw, I loved the salad bar. Overall it was really great to have a lunch that didnt make me late for work!
(4)Kelly F.
(4)Michael S.
Small location very loud not a date joint food was good!
(3)Vince P.
Sorry guys, but this pizza isnt for me. When they say its "WHIRLED FAMOUS" they mean, whirled. not tastey, but it is fun to get crayons and draw on the walls... pizza came uncooked and cost around $15. no thanks.
(1)Britta E.
(3)Heather S.
Visiting from Cali. The Tre(cheese) pizza was yumm. Service was so~so. Waitress made comment about us sitting in a "reserved" area which we had NO idea we were in. SORRY!
(3)Jonathan D.
Flying Pie is some of the best pizza in town. They usually have one great beer on tap and recently they have a triple that compliments their triple pie and both are delicious. Great local joint, has gotten a little spendy but is still worth it! Staff can come off a little judge mental but they intend no harm.
(4)Christina M.
(5)danger m.
to be honest, the pizza here is okay. but i dont think i have ever once craved for a pie from here though. i have been a here a few times, and none of the signature pies really do anything for me. so i usually will end up making my own. pizza places i like more: lucky 13 (couple bucks more expensive, similar style of pizza), tony's (thin crust, kind of classy-ish, not really room for big families) and old chicago (deep dish). i even like guido's pizza more. some people will probably argue with me as flying pie has a pretty cult following, but those are my tastes, and i hope to offer some insight who might have similar tastes. the beer selection is very good and is the primary reason i keep coming back :P one thing that does kind of irk me about flying pie is the number of flies flying around the state street location, maybe it was just a recent thing, but kinda grossed me out a lil.
(3)Jimmy H.
great 'zaa & awesome beers. Best place in town.
(5)Corby G.
(4)John N.
Incredible New York style pies in unique recipes made by Boise's alternative denizens. The place is a dive, which just adds to the mystique. Tons of beers are available from all over the world with a rotation of on tap choices. Can't miss food.
(5)Kirk H.
(5)Rob B.
Ok, I am picky with my Pizza's. This is my favorite location and the beer selection is freaking incredible. The owner does a great job getting beers that cannot be found anywhere else. The pizza choices are amazing. The staff is the best thing about the place. Coolest people you will meet and very friendly.
(5)Alicia P.
Way slow... I timed it, took an hour from the time we placed our order til we got it... My husband asked for a box for our left overs.. They gave us aluminum foil.. Pricy..was good but for the price.. Lousy service.. Not sure it was worth it.
(2)Margaret R.
(4)Michael B.
(4)Michelle T.
i moved from Boise a year ago. With all the talk in Los Angeles about how great the food here is i have yet to find a place that comes CLOSE to the flying pie.
(5)Elizabeth F.
Introduced me to the best beer yet - from my own backyard! Boont Amber Ale, and a little Zambini pizza to go with it. The jalapenos weren't that hot, but otherwise, deelish!
(4)Ariel H.
(4)Steve M.
Simply the best pizza in Boise. I have been frequenting the pie since the early 90's and have yet to find a better slice. Gourmet night is unmatchable. Absolutely, the best.
(5)ian m.
(4)Brittany L.
(5)Kevin M.
Although this is not my favorite pizza in town this is a very good pizza. I used to live across the street from here and would go here quite regularly. This place getting very busy in the evening and on the weekends.
(4)Summer O.
(4)Elmira D.
Always fun, usually delicious. While I like the lunch slice pizza option, the salad bar is usually what brings me back. I'm also a big fan of "It's your day!"
(4)Laurie P.
Best pizza in Boise. Nice salad bar. People are friendly. Everything on the menu is great. Complimentary bread sticks while you wait. Wouldn't go anywhere else in Boise for pizza!
(5)Shelly h.
Love it!!
(5)Richard N.
Best pizza, bar none. PHOSGOs is best ever. Even delivered once to Denver, CO.
