I love their Italian wedge salad and dirty vodka martinis. I have been a big fan of Flatbread for many years (a roommate of mine worked there so I would always have the insider tips)! Needless to say, this spoiled me. Their "pick two" is a fabulous lunch option where you aren't restricted to just one menu option. I really enjoy the consistency in their food preparation, serving the food in a timely manner and the fact that it is all very fresh and healthy. This is definitely one of my favorite hot spots!

We got a few pizzas and salads. The caeser was good but small. Diavolo pizza was spicy and tasty. Pizza crust got a tad soggy, but was pretty good. Beer selection seemed decent, but i didn't get a beer.

BOISE, ID: Happy to review this trendy little Boise chain with a couple locations. They have a Neapolitan Certificate of Origin/DOC designation, meaning they have the required imported oven to make the authentic style pizza. Ambience is trendy. Waitstaff is nice but not pushy. The pizza was good; had a Bianco and it was flavorful and satisfactory.

Flatbread has been one of my go-tos for gluten free pizza for years. The crust they use is light and crispy but not like cardboard. My favorite pizzas include the Alfredo the Great (chicken, white sauce, tomato, artichoke) and the Quatro (four cheeses, basil). Service is prompt and always friendly. Its a great place to go for lunch (the pick two is a great option for an affordable and filling lunch) and for dinner (casual but classy).

What a great experience. I was seated immediately as the lunch rush had just finished. I had an excellent server by the name of Brian. He was exceptionally attentive and personable throughout the experience. The restaurant was very clean. It took less than 5 min. For my hot food to come out after I ordered! I had the Rosemary Chicken sandwich and some of the most amazing Tomato Basil soup! I will ask for Brian(who only works mainly during lunch) everytime!

My company sometimes make the orders through their to-go service for our day-long meetings. And the pizza will arrive in piles of stack boxes with salad altogether. Then we will all lineup for the fresh pick. I love take turns open up each boxes and pretend searching for the perfect slice. But actually was just enjoying seeing the varieties :D I had my first flatbread on their old location. Where I can sit next to the oven and watch the cook flipping pizzas. Somehow it reminds me the old fashion fireplace that has a chimney goes all the way to the top of the roof..The new location is nicer. But I miss that feeling. Anyway, they are a well known pizza company in town.

5 star Bloody Mary with bacon! OMG!! We ate dinner there the night before and it was delicious everybody likes what they had received. I cannot tell you enough how wonderful that bloody Mary was!

Oh yes, very good pizza. I recommend the bloody marry too. It is world class. Service is great too.

The pizza was great! They also have some great cocktails including an Italian style margarita. I would definitely recommend it! Also the view is great and is in a great location downtown.

The pizza here, baked in a wood-burning oven, is superb. They adhere to standards from the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana of Naples, ensuring the quality of ingredients and traditions from Italy. I recommend the capicola, Italian sausage and Sopressa pizza. Two of those three meats are rarely found in the West. They're some of the best Italian products. The staff is friendly and attentive and the views are nice from the Zions Bank Building. Ask them to open the sliding windows.

Cool and unique place in Downtown. Went here for a wedding rehearsal dinner and they did an excellent job with our big party. My drink was always refilled and the food was delivered quickly and there was plenty of it! All of their appetizers and pizzas were super delicious. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive. We had a nice private area set off on the side of the restaurant too. They have a full bar and an awesomely large pizza oven where they woodfire all of their pizza. Prices are reasonable. My friend and I were picked up out front due to the 15 degree weather so I'm not sure how parking works but I think there's a structure nearby and you can get parking validated. I'm happy this building in Downtown was accessible too (elevator and escalator) as that's not always the case. One of the best meals I had on my trip to Boise!

Alex was an amazing server. We had 2 young children who have very specific dietary needs and the restaurant and Alex were very accommodating. The entire staff was so friendly, the atmosphere delightful and the entire experience excellent. Cioppino was outstanding - menu was varied and food was nicely presented.

We stopped in before a Steelheads game a few weeks back and wanted to grab a quick bite. Kind of odd, with it prime location, that we were the only table in there- but I'm not complaining. Pizza was awesome, service was great and we were in and out in enough time to see the puck drop.

I really liked Flatbread. The venue was very pretty and the view was nice. I ordered the margherita pizza and it was perfect. We also had caprese and that was yummy too. Prices are reasonable. Service was awesome!!

We came to flatbread due to a recommendation from a local. The pizza was phenomenal. They have a pretty good beer selection. Chris, the bartender, was awesome and took great care of us. We are not from here, but would definitely come back given the chance!

We love this restaurant as a date night or a Family Night! The pizzas are delicious and the drink choices are legion. The kids love the Make Your Own pizzas and cookies for dessert. Can't wait until our next opportunity to go to Flat Breads!

I ordered my pizza to-go and upon picking up the box I almost double checked to make sure pizza was in there - it was that light. Not a place to go if you are fat like myself and enjoy a hog down

I have been coming to FCO since it was in its old location. The menu has changed since then and it seems to have gone from more of a college hang out to a more trendy downtown eatery. But the food is still pretty good. The kids make your own pizza is still fun. I had the blanco magnifico and the wedge salad on the pick two lunch special. Other items also looked pretty good. They still honored my pick two punch card to get the eleventh pick two free. People with kids beware as they do not have crayons or drawing paper/menu. The parking is first hour free and then 2.50 each additional. The Zion's bank building does have cool pictures and a history of the building. Overall okay.

Absolutely delicious! The man who delivered my food was extremely nice. Anyone who eats here should most definitely try the Mac and Cheese; it was by far the best I've ever had.

Not bad, but not that good either. The menu looks great and the restaurant is gorgeous; however, the pizzas are SO small with only about five bites with toppings. I received the sun-dried tomato pizza and the pepperoni pizza which was well made and tasy, but I took one bite/ slice and I was already left with just crust in my hand. If you love bread sticks and crust you'll love it... But for me, I'm looking for some substantial toppings that don't slide to the middle. I'll try it again when back in Boise for the summer.

Sunday evening w 5 guests. Super, responsive service, very friendly wait staff, great food. We had the goat chz/tomato flatbread, couple of chicken walnut salads, and lasagna w side salads. Two very good bottles of wine topped it off. Will definitely refer friends and will return. Make sure to try their late night happy hour!

Apparently flatbread has gone through some "rebranding" and changed their menu. They used to have a spicy chicken sausage pizza that was to die for. Now it's all about the mammals, which, I do not eat. We recently went on a Saturday, no reservations, so we had to sit at the pizza bar. First disappointment came to my daughter, who wanted a pineapple and canadian bacon pizza, neither ingredient was available. She settled on mac and cheese, which she then said tasted "weird". I tasted it, thought it was delicious, but obviously had some sort of smoky cheese in it which didn't agree with the 9 year olds palette. The second disappointment came when we ordered the clam appetizer. The menu says NOTHING about sausage in the dish. My husband liked them, but I could not eat them as the inclusion of sausage made them inedible to me. Third disappointment came with my husbands cioppino, which he said was pretty much the exact same dish as the clams but with the addition of a little bit of fish. Having had my heart set on the spicy chicken I settled on the Tuscan chicken pizza. Nothing special here, a giant burnt bubble could be seen as my pizza came out of the oven, it was about the size of half a racquetball and black as coal. That was really the only memorable part of my pizza. The service was quite good considering how busy the restaurant was, and when I brought the omission of the sausage detail in the clams on the menu to the waiters attention, the appetizer was removed from our bill. All in all, flatbread fell, well... flat. We used to love coming to the downtown location and the Bown crossing location. But the new menu will have us choosing other options as there are several choices available downtown Boise.

My daughter and I had lunch at Flatbread today- she had a cheese pizza and I had a wedge salad and small pizzeria with prosciutto ham and pesto sauce-everything was delicious and we enjoyed it very much- Flatbread is one of our favorite places to eat!

The DOC Pizza is just barely DOC. The tomato soup is super tasty. The flatbreads are meh. But the beer is good. And the service is steady. So if you are looking for a decent comfortable place with a lengthy menu to please all palates, this should be a contender.

Another disappointment. Decided to order dinner delivered to my hotel and was quoted 90-150 minutes. Stunned, I reached out to Eat 24. They said it would be more like 1 hour. After waiting an hour, I get a call from the delivery service saying she had locked her keys out of her car and wasn't sure when she would be there. Another hour goes by...I contact Eat 24. They apologize and say it should be around 20 minutes. Havent gotten my food yet. I can only assume that my food will be cold after sitting for an hour before me getting it. - Just got my food. Cold everything. Except the icecream that came with the cake. That was warm and soupy.Shockingly horrible service.

We've been to the one in Meridian and love it, and have been wanting to try the new location downtown so we went there for Sunday lunch. We both got the "pick two" options. I had the Capricciosa pizzetta and Gardini Panini. Hubby ordered the Quattro Formaggi & Tomato Basil Soup. All very tasty. Love the char on the pizza crusts. Both pizzettas were a bit soggy in the middle, and my understanding is that the larger pizzas don't have that issue. Still, we would re-order pizzettas in the future, it wasn't too bad. The service was friendly and attentive, and the decor was amazing. I don't know if this is a mainstream term, but I would call it "industrial chic". Our server said they used 15 designers in detailing the place, and their combined talents really work. This is a great space and has a comfortable and inviting vibe. We will be back for sure. The only bit of advice I would offer is to clean the flatware and whiskey glasses better. There was a film on all of them. Kind of off-putting. (We're not expecting "Kona Grill" kind of clean with the visibly huge team of employees polishing the flatware, but a bit more attention would do the trick. :-)

Picture a freezing winter afternoon, Boise style. Frigid winds gusting through the streets. You've been walking around downtown killing time with the family when upon consult you realize everyone of you is starting to get hungry for dinner. It's still early though and you walked by a sign for an interesting pizza place. Being a pizza aficionado you suggest going there for a light dinner. Check. So anyway, that's how I came to approach Flatbread Neapolitan Pizzeria about a week ago. We walked in and were not expecting the above average decor and hip vibe of the place. My sister walked up to the hostess to tell her we had a party of 6. The hostess never looked up from her mobile device to greet her or made eye contact with her until the table was ready. Weird. I think we waited 4 minutes for our table as there was plenty of space at 15 to 5. Our server was really good. Introduced himself and was available pretty effortlessly throughout the short meal (our parking meter was running). He even encouraged my 9 year old nephew to clean his plate by rewarding him with a cookie when he was done. Since it's prime happy hour, I thought to save some money and order off the HH menu. Kind of a mistake. Instead of offering their regular pies at a discount you get this half size little pizza instead, maybe...maybe 8 inches diameter, with very few toppings... Not to be compared in quality, but it was about the size of one of those microwavable gas station pizzas one dare not buy. Disappointed. I got your standard pepperoni, sausage and mushroom. But the flavors were there. Good pizza, just wish there was more of it because if you are hungry and you order another one you wind up spending more than if you had just ordered off the regular menu. I ate some of my wife's pie to tide me over. She got the Chorizo Shrimp flat bread. Tasty. The food was out pronto, though. Quality ingredients are apparent. I really liked my Edge Brewing (?) Apple Cider I ordered, too. Kind of a dry tasting cider and it looks like a brown or dark amber ale. Good stuff.

I love Flatbread! So much so that even after I moved to AZ a year ago, this is the place I had to go to when I came back to visit Boise. The new location is absolutely beautiful with a great interior layout and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on downtown. The menu has changed, and I was disappointed to find that my favorite sandwich was no longer on the menu. When I mentioned this to our waitress, she told me that the chef could still make it for me- talk about A+ service! I got the lunch combo with the half sandwich and a cup of their delicious tomato soup, both of which were as good as I had remembered. My friend got the portobello mushroom sandwich and mac & cheese and enjoyed hers as well. Overall, Flatbread is one of my favorite places to dine at. Great location, good service, and consistently fantastic food puts Flatbread at the top of my list.

This place is great! The service is fantastic and the food is exceptional. I had a pizza and I tried their mac n cheese, both were very good. There aren't a lot of options in Boise. If you are visiting, make sure you try this place out. You won't regret it, unless you hate good food... then you may regret it. Tell them Aaron sent you

Boise, Idaho can be a food challenge. Where to eat? Where to eat? I have to say that Flatbread Neapolitan Pizza is a standout exception. Consistently tasty, terrific thin crust gourmet Neopolitan-style pizza, this place is apparently certified and blessed by some very important and legit pizza international entity (perhaps the Pizza Gods on Mt. Olympus?) to be able to assert they meet the strictest requirements respecting the tradition and art of Neapolitan pizza making. Whew! Duly noted and impressed. They've got a good atmosphere and a shiny new wood fired oven. We always bring a big group, have a great meal, and bookmark again for our next visit. My pizza favorites include the maple sausage pizza with grilled onions (simple, but so, so good), the traditional italian meat pie, and even the BBQ chicken pizza with gorgonzola speaks to me here. They make a truly decadent pasta with cheese and bechamel sauce that is a must to order and share. Best part if you eat in? Ask for (and save room for!) the homemade chocolate chip cookies. These arrive at the table still warm with a giant pitcher of milk.

I picked up the kale soup at flat bread for a quick "to go " lunch. The price was steep,($7.00), the server surly and put off when I requested a bag(!), but the real surprise was tasting this heavily salted beef stock. There was some spice like ground kale which would have filled a table spoon, and some rubbery mushrooms. This was a rare instance when my lunch was discarded. Raman noodles would have been of higher quality, and less salty.

I've had better flatbread pizzas that were not completely black on the bottom. Their t-shirts claimed "Char Happens" and I guess I should have taken more notice before I ordered. I prefer to taste the toppings, not the char on a pizza. The toppings, however, were nice and plentiful. The Ceasar salad with jumbo prawns was lacking. The prawns were cold and hard, having previously been grilled (previously = in the last day or so and put back in the fridge). The 'salad' consisted of romaine hearts cut in half and arranged in a cross on the place with a drizzle of salad dressing and a few croutons. So, if you like a salad you can eat with your fingers and black-bottomed pizza - this place is for you!

Had a great dinner at Flatbread. The iceburg wedge salad was fabulous, my husband and I shared it. The pizza was good, but not great. The flavor is great but as always the middle is too soggy for me! I wish it were more crispy throughout. As my daughter mentioned during dinner Flatbread always struggles with their pizza-Either the crust is burned and the middle is cooked or the crust is good and the middle is soggy! She loved her mac and cheese and cookie with milk for dessert!! Wine and beer selection is pretty good and service was good as well. Not too busy on a Monday night downtown! Easy location to get to with the attached parking garage and nice views of the JUMP project under construction.

Flatbread downtown is a perfect location and the ambiance is super cool. I really like the look of the place, but man do those stools overlooking the street really mess with your back. I went with a bunch of friends and our moms for mom's weekend and we did a walk in on a busy Friday night and waited an hour which really wasn't bad considering the lack of reservation, being a Saturday night, and the size of the party. As we sat at our table we all couldn't help to notice that the stool was approximately the size of a single butt cheek and a HUGE gap behind the seat and the back which is just odd. One of my friends chose to stand instead of sit because it was so uncomfortable. With that said, the food is really good. I would go far enough to say that their wings appetizer were the best wings I've had. Our waiter was really helpful with choosing a drink and it went great with my meal. Overall, I would definitely go to Flatbread again but I wouldn't put it on my Absolutely Have To Go To list.

I love the chicken apple walnut salad!!!! Seriously......proabbly one of the best things on the menue. Although everything I have had here is pretty darn good. I find myself here frequentaly. The downtown location, their newest location, is pretty cool. I love that you can look over down town as you enjoy your meal. It is a little hard to find the right place to enter the first time you go so be sue to use the doors on the east side of the building and head up the stairs to the left.

  • Megan W.

Food was delicious but could use some fine tuning!!! I ordered the mac n cheese and apple blue cheese salad. The macaroni tasted great but was lukewarm when it arrived at my table, likely due to the rest of my group ordering pizza and thus making my plate wait till they were ready. Another issue was with the four cheese pizza; it tasted good but there's huge shards of garlic in it that are rather difficult to eat. The highlight of my meal was definitely the salad though. The sauce was delicious and the walnuts were perfect and the chilled grapes added the perfect amount of sweetness! Overall very good restaurant and definitely worth checking out!

I think I'm addicted to Flatbread. My girlfriend told me I would like this place, and she was absolutely correct. In fact, I enjoy this place so much, we hit it two days in a row. I like the cozy atmosphere of the place (this review comes from my experience during the final days of their Main Street location). I could see it getting noisy during busy times, but that is not a reason to avoid this place. The servers provide courteous, prompt service. I have always felt taken care of. They are very helpful in explaining the menu and deals to new guests. The service here is fast. After ordering, I have been told things along the lines of "We'll have it right out." I initially dismissed this as typical server drivel, but the wait for food is indeed very short. This was also somewhat disconcerting my first time, as it was suspiciously fast, but the quality of the food proves it is by no means some pre-prepared, processed food they just stick in the microwave. My opinion of their staple -- pizzas -- is glowing. Can you get any better? I've had some good pizzas, but Flatbread forces itself into my memory as the highlights of my pizza experiences. I'm used to a completely different thin crust. Flatbread knows how to cook it to perfection. I swear, if you cooked it any more or any less, it wouldn't be perfect, but they consistently deliver with a melt-in-your-mouth thin crust that isn't too crunchy and serves as an incredible base for their pies. Their meat and cheeses are top-notch, as well. Their pasta dishes, sausage lasagna and mac (rather, penne) and cheese, are very good. The sausage lasagna probably won't change your world, but is delicious, and a solid version of a familiar favorite. The mac and cheese, on the other hand, is both delicious, and just may set the bar for other such dishes going forward. It is incredibly rich, but in a good way. The ONLY bad part about this place is that you will need to either consult your server or bring along a friend that has been here before for translation of some of the ingredient names. Just interpret this need for translation as a sign of the quality of what they serve.

If you are looking for good pizza in Boise- this is the place! I had BBQ chicken pizza and it was delicious! Our waiter was very friendly and recommended a great appetizer (cheese fondue). Will definitely come here again!

  • Patti F.

First thing, our waiter described that they are certified by Italy in their Neopolitan-style pizzas. And of course I didn't order one because pizza didn't appeal to me this particular day (yeah I know, weird) - but I will be back. We had the stuffed mushroom appetizer, and each had a "pick two" (half sandwich, half salad, or half pasta). I found everything to be tasty, fresh, and fought the urge to order the macaroni and cheese (though it WAS talking to me folks). Service was great, we ate outside... I will be back next time I'm in Boise, and I WILL get that dang mac and cheese, and probably a pizza (and then I will go buy bigger pants)

This was our first time here, and our server Katie was very friendly and knowledgeable of the pizza, the process, the beers, and anything else we came up with as a question. Good nature to Pop's jokes as well! We got three pizzas, two were certified and the other was the BBQ chicken. I had the Quattro Formaggi and it was good, but wish the flavors were spread out over the whole pie (it was pepperoni, basil, mushroom, and prosciutto) instead of in their separate sections. The other was the Capricciosa and it was very flavorful but better eaten with a fork. Everything was wonderfully tasty. The mac & cheese - as mentioned in other reviews - was spot-on, but don't forget you can add other items to it! This turns it up a BIG notch from other spots, where you usually have to know the chef to get a super-deluxe, wood-fired Mac 'n Cheese. Go wild and you won't regret it. The plain is also worth every bite. (Best re-heating advice is to put it in a 6" skillet and bake it again with a fresh layer of cheese!) A note on the cookies - they'll try to offer you a peanut butter but don't take it - mine was brick-hard and not very tasty. It looked like it just came out a package. The chocolate chip was much better.

My boyfriend and I ate here for the first time tonight and let me tell you this is hands down my favorite place in Boise to eat for dinner! It is literally the best pizza and Caesar Salad I have ever eaten. The salad is presented in a unique manor where you cut it up yourself and it ends up mixing the dressing perfectly. I am extremely picky and once there are no more crotons in a salad I will not eat another bite. This is the only salad I have ever eaten after the crotons were gone because it was so good. We had the Divola(I think that's what it was called) pizza and it was beyond amazing. Our server was Megan and she made sure we were satisfied without bothering us like a normal server would, she was awesome! The atmosphere was city chic but still casual. If there is a wait for a table I would just find a seat at the pizza bar or one of the other ones so you can still have that free parking since the first hour is free(thats what we did) This is an absolutely must go!

Went on Monday night, so my friend and I took advantage of their deal: two three-glass wine flights, any pizza, and any salad for $30! Everything was delicious. The flight was yummy white wines, and it went well with our bianco magnifico chicken pizza. The crust was cooked to perfection and the ingredients were super fresh. We also got the chicken basil salad which was surprisingly large and equally tasty. Service was super friendly and checked in regularly without being bothersome. The atmosphere was cozy, quiet enough to chat, and everything was very clean. I also had their blueberry drop martini which was soooo incredible: not too sweet, very flavorful, and pretty to look at. :) I'm looking forward to going back here and trying one of their sandwiches--everything on the menu sounds amazing!

They make a truly excellent pizza. The capicola and sausage was a complete hit. The plucked and peppered was also quite good. My companion also assures me that the salad was delicious although it was composed mostly of green things. Kudos to Cody and staff for excellent service. This should be a standard stop for anyone traveling through Boise!

Delectable food, delightful service, great value for excellent quality! The pizza crust is thin and wood-fired, the toppings are gourmet, the veggie sandwich was fabulous and the rumors are true: the Mac and cheese is awesome, some of the best!

The food here is so good. The pizzas have amazing crusts and just the right amount of toppings. I've also tried a few of the flatbreads they offer as well. I have no complaints at all. I went there last night and we shared the pot roast and potato flatbread to start. It was amazing. I highly recommend it. Then I had the pepperoni and chive pizza. Completely delicious. The two others I was with had the roasted chicken portobello sandwich. She said she loved it. And my brother had the Bella Roma pizza. I'm assuming he really enjoyed it since he left no trace of it on the table. The staff here are really friendly and attentive. I really can't find anything negative to say.

Wow Amazing! The pizza and salad were incredible, best I've ever had! Fresh berry crostada was the most delicious thing ever. Similar to a cobbler/ tart with black berries served with vanilla gelato. Fantastic

One of my favorite restaurants of all time - I love everything I've tried on the menu. Coming from San Francisco, I feel like i have (possibly too) high standards for food, but FCO is amazing and a definite requirement on my to-eat list. I visited Boise 2 times a month for 5 months...and tried to go at least twice a visit. Sometimes service can be TOO attentive or TOO not attentive...but the food is still amazing and so it goes all my votes! My recommendations: Chili-Glazed Shrimp & Chorizo Flatbread (THE BEST) Chicken Arugula Basil Salad Bella Roma Bianco Magnifico Macaroni and Cheese There lunch special is the perfect size as well. Can't go wrong with a cookie and glass of milk to polish the meal off either! MISS YOU FCO!! I WISH I LIVED IN BOISE!

My hubs and I are just staying the night in Boise. We walked all around the downtown area looking for a spot for dinner after a pretty long drive. We rejected all the big chains - which do seem to dominate the dining scene here. Finally we came upon Flatbread. It looked very cozy so we walked in. Very nice and knowledgeable waitress. The ceasar salad was excellent. We realized right away the ceasar dressing was housemade as we make our own at home. Excellent. Next the carbonara pizza with a couple of poached eggs on top. Very tasty. For us this meal just hit the spot. We do recommend.

The service is great at Flatbread. I have eaten at both locations in Boise and they consistently provide quality service. You can tell that training and operational efficiency are important to the way the managers run Flatbread. I appreciate that from a chain - even if this is only a small local chain with 3 Idaho locations and 1 Oregon location. You gotta have process dialed in if you are going to grow a scalable business. The food is good. I suggest that you pay no attention to the marketing positioning message that they are a member of the Verace Pizza Napoletana Association. This accreditation concept is bogus in my opinion. There are plenty of excellent pizza restaurants in America that have nothing to do with this tiny group. There are no members in Rhode Island, for example. RI is the hotbed of good authentic Italian pizza. Ask for the monthly special. The night we were there it was heirloom tomato. The FIERY CHICKEN SAUSAGE pizza is a favorite. I wish the crust was a little crisper. I don't like soggy pizza crust. The flatbreads are a little firmer. The ROASTED RED PEPPER & GOAT CHEESE was a good selection. Also, you can get a small salad on the side, and I don't think this is mentioned on the menu. The "veggie" salad is excellent. Mmmm goat cheese. Eat it fresh. Leftover pizza from Flatbread doesn't heat up well. They also make sandwiches which are huge and do actually live to see another day of leftover glory. There is a great drink selection including local beers and wine flights.

Great experience here! The daily lunch special (pick 2 between pizza, salad, sandwich, or soup) is a great deal and you can get any pizza you want. Great quality food and great service. I will definitely return when I come back to visit Boise!

Came here late on a Saturday night b/c we were starving and craving some pizza. I really wanted to like this place like all my fellow Yelpers did, but I just couldn't. Especially after the bartender blew his nose, then went to serve us our water w/out washing his hands. (strike one) After my gf ordered a small dinner salad the bartender brought out a chicken salad and swore that she ordered a chicken salad, he then goes into the back and produces a salad that had clearly been sitting in the walk-in waiting pathetically to be served to an unsuspecting customer. (strike two) After ordering the All Meat flatbread, right before we were done, the manager comes over and belligerently asks us if we'd ever had Soppressata. Really Marco Polo?!? It's 2011 and not the old world nor the Renaissance. (strike three) Please don't insult my food intelligence. And... We're out and will not be returning, sorry "FCO" but you sucked.

I have been to Flatbread Community Oven twice now since moving to Boise, and both times I had a very pleasant meal while playing the wine trivia game they have at the tables! My favorite item to get is the cheese fondue, which will fill two people, for only about $8.50. It is made using some pinot gris, which gives the fondue a very unique flavor. The pizzas are very typical restaurant pizza, but nice flavor, and it is fun to see the big oven right over the counter! The beer selection is nicely ranged from local to worldly, and the wine list is pretty decent too. The place is small, and if you don't like being close to the next table, you might not like the seating arrangements here, but it's worth a meal. I recommend that you play the wine trivia game, you might know more than you think, and even if you don't, you're bound to learn a thing or two while playing. Great, friendly staff with excellent service, and a great location as well.

I've just officially moved here from LA and this was the first place I ate dinner! I LOVED IT. The staff was extremely friendly, especially the waiter I had. I wish I remembered his name bc he was quite possibly the best waiter I've ever had. I could have done without the whole speech about the pizza certification or whatever, but I understand it's apart of the whole experience. For an appetizer, I had the fondue which was pretty good, I just wish it was hotter. I had the margarita pizza with heirloom tomatoes which was so good. The crust was perfect, just a little charred, the way I like it. My mom had the mac & cheese which was really made with penne, but it was SO good! Next time I come I'll definitely be having that. It's also really cute how kids get to make their own pizza. I'll definitely be coming back, even if I'm going to be a broke college student.

Really great Neapolitan style pizza, with the chewy thin crust that I love so much. Happy to see it in Boise. Not cheap, but with lunch specials and daily dinner offerings (Toss For Tuesday may give you 50% off 2 pizzas) you get to save a few pennies. Pizza menu is heavy on the chicken, which unfortunately is one topping I avoid on my pizzas. However, they do make it up in other tasty, fresh, more traditional toppings. Great salads and sandwiches too. Dining room ambiance is nice and outdoor seating is lovely. Service is always accommodating.

Comfortable, warm atmosphere and decor. Some of the better pizza I've had in Boise. Excellent homemade Caesar dressing. And some decent (in their price range) wines. Friendly staff. Though, after about 6 or 7 visits, have found service to be wildly inconsistent. Pizza, salads and sandwiches are great when the servers do their job properly (which is only about 60% of the time). The service consistently ranges from slightly above average to mediocre to awful. Unfortunately, when it's awful, management (who seems to be lacking in experience) does a terrible job of handling major mistakes. Several times we've been served by younger waitresses who have completely forgotten to send orders to the kitchen, have left food sitting in the kitchen for over 20 minutes (only to deliver it cold and dry) have taken 15-20 minutes to deliver any drinks, have unapologetically sent the wrong order to the kitchen and delivered party member's food after the rest of the party finished eating, failed to ever refill waters, etc... etc... And not one of these times has a manager ever offered anything more than a half-hearted, insincere apology coupled with bogus excuses. If someday the owners can get it together at this location and fix their management and service problems, we'll return. Until then, we've had our last unpleasant dining experience at this location. 3.5 stars for food and atmosphere. 1 star for lackluster service, poor management and inconsistency.

Very good pizza and nice Italian chopped salad. They serve a good red Italian wine by the glass that is the perfect match. Service is attentive and atmosphere is nicer than their other locations by far.

Way over-priced for what you get. We have had some exceptional wood stove pizzas in Portland and Denver but Flatbread Community Oven is the worst we have ever had. Based upon the taste and quality, our pizza could have been made in a regular conventional oven. But, probably the best we can get in Boise.

Loved it! Great wine, great food. I liked the fact that the had wine games on their tables for guests. The Mac and Cheese is amazing. I would suggest sharing a pizza and Mac and Cheese between two people so you get enough of both. You will probably still have pizza left over!

We love Flatbread. The food is awesome - my favorite salad is there (arugula with pine nuts and chicken, yum). Their goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes appetizer is awesome.

It's high time I reviewed FCO because FCO is the best place to get pizza in the valley. No questions asked, they've got the whole package. Menu, location, price points, certs, cool staff, good lunch specials/happy hour, games on the tables for kids, life music...and even great wine glasses. I am reviewing their downtown Boise location because it's the one I frequent the most often. The main thing I like about FCO is their simplistic menu. We're talkin' pizza, salad, great apps, a few desserts and a hearty wine/beer list. From their website: "...only Neapolitan pizzeria in Idaho to be certified by the Verace Pizza Napoletana Association, and one of only 28 restaurants in the United States to carry the esteemed VPN certification. (please visit Vera Pizza Napoletana for more information)" So, what does that mean to you? They're the shit when it comes to their wood fired pizza ovens. 900 degree "community" ovens to perfectly cook and crisp your flatbread. (It sounds naughty, and it IS!) "Best of..." for the Flatbread Community Ovens: Best Flatbread: Sea Salt and Parm with 3 dipping oils. This is simple and deilcious and it comes out all cute with it's seperate dipping oils! (Story time: One time we ordered just this and a couple glasses of wine during happy hour. Mid-bite, and completely unsolicited, the manager comes over and says, "While you were eating, I noticed the flatbread was burnt on the bottom, I'll bring you out a fresh one." Within 2 minutes, we had a second flatbread and were dumbfounded by the attention to detail! Rock on FCO. Best Appetizer: Fontina Fonduta A large portion of fondue infused with Pinot Grigio with foccacia for dipping. I just drooled. Best Pizza: Maple-Fennel Sausage. What a blessed marriage of magnificent flavors all on one pizza with sensastionally soft-but-crisp-in-all-the-right-places dough. This is a family favorite and is ordered in accompaniment with the Runner Up: Rosemary Chicken and Portabello. Best Pasta: Mac n Cheese. Kraft, take a hike. You'll never think of Mac n Cheese the same way after you try theirs. This rich medley of cheeses with a crusty top is better than Chandler's Mac n Cheese by far! Best Salad: Chicken Arugula. Rosemary chicken, pine nuts, sun dried tomatoes... a great bite to sit out on the patio with and people watch during the busy lunch hour! Best Sandwich: I haven't tried any yet, but when I do, I will update this. Best Dessert: Seasonal Gelato It's always changing and I haven't been to FCO more than once or twice without ordering the gelato. Not sure where it's from but it's right up there with Caffe Greco in the Italian District of San Francisco! Yum! Maybe that's why I had not reviewed FCO yet... there are just too many great things to talk about!

Has a very chain-run vibe with the laminated menus and over-sized portions. But the food is very good and the service is just incredible. I hit it for lunch when they were getting slammed and the waiters covered for each other to make sure that orders were taken and drinks served without delay. They have a lunch special of two smaller portions of dinner items for about $10. Still a little high rent for Boise, I thought, but the mac and cheese was very good and the small pizzas were terric.

Never been here before, first walked in and saw a live singer near the bar area. I was trying to find my friends, kept walking back and wow, there was a whole other section. I Sat down and the waitress got me drinks right away. The food server took a bit longer but apologized for takin longer. He Sat down in the chair while he took our order. Thought it was pretty funny. Then told us how he quit drinking for 19 months now. We ordered stuffed mushrooms, mac and cheese and this chicken pizza with artichokes. The mushrooms was under cooked. The mac and cheese taste like it was thrown in a bowl with sauce and shredded cheese and broiled. The pizza was ok. Could have used more sauce. Great crust, great environment. Giving It a 3 star cuz it was nothing special.

"Wow Amazing! The pizza and salad were incredible, best I've ever had! Fresh berry crostada was the most delicious thing ever. Similar to a cobbler/ tart with black berries served with vanilla gelato. Fantastic!

I've been to every one of FCO's locations, and they're all consistently wonderful. Their Neapolitan wood-fired pizzas are the main reason to go, but their Mac-n-cheese is out of this world (also wood-fired). If you're on a low-carb diet - or just being good - the Apple-Chicken-Walnut salad is a meal in itself, and won't even make you sorry you're not eating pizza. Each of their locations has a vibrant, fun atmosphere, suitable for everyone. They have a limited-but-decent wine list, and most locations have a full bar, too. If you're a fan of wood-fired pizzas, you must give FCO a try!

My husband and I slipped in just before 6 for some pre game grub and caught the last end of happy hour. We both enjoyed delicious local $3 beers and got the margharita pizza with Italian sausage, and the simple salad . YUM! Not only was the food delicious, but the service was fast and friendly too! We were out of there in 45 minutes! Just in time for the game! I would definitely recommend this place to others, and I know we will be coming back. Thanks!

I honestly can't say enough nice things about Flatbread. The food is absolutely delicious. Love the pizzas and salads. They are always nice to my kids and I love the make your own pie for the kids. Not a pizza chain; a delicious dining experience with great ambiance, service, and food. Must try pizza: prosciutto and asparagus.

My friend Dave took me here recently after raving about their pizza and fondue among other enticing items on their brief, intelligent and appealing menu. It's a storefront on Main Street that contains two rooms to dine in plus a bar and some nice outdoor tables and chairs. The interior is contemporary and they promote green living in a variety of ways that we don't often see in my hometown, San Francisco. We were offered seating in the bar area, the back room or outdoors and we chose the bar area because Dave wanted to watch a game on one of their big screens while we ate and talked. A handsome, clean cut and articulate young server came over, introduced himself and asked if we were familiar with what was unique about Flatbread Community Oven, and although Dave knew the drill, I wanted to hear and see how they convey their message from the corporate marketing viewpoint, and it's good and clear. We order something to drink, a flatbread and a pizza and talked as I checked the place out. Clean, lean and simple, but attractive in the way a good architect or designer who knows the audience and can convey the message without overshadowing the product and service, very comfy. It was a late Sunday afternoon and it was somewhat quiet, maybe half full but twosomes, threesomes and larger groups started trickling in as we worked through our food which came nice and hot about 15 minutes after ordering. The table was set with napkin wrapped silver ware, grated cheese, peppers and had enough room to leave diners room to navigate when they've ordered lots of different things to try and to share. Again, thoughtful planning. The waiter was really well trained and perhaps a natural to boot, his service shone through our whole experience there. I'm suspect of any restaurant claiming to be unique because they're certified and this was no exception, but the flatbread and pizza were extremely tasty and better than any pizza I've had so far in Boise. The ingredients are top notch, the preparation is also excellent and the service and ambience make this a destination restaurant for outstanding pizza. They also offer some huge, compelling salads, sandwiches, unusual pasta's and desserts, offer a full bar with emphasis on a well thought out beer and wine list. This is a great place.

Decent crusts, and good gimmick with the Neopolitan crust, but it's more hype than good food. Try the veggie pizza; that was surprisingly good.

We have been to this place twice and have been really happy both times. Though last time it was a little cold in the booth the last time. The staff seem great and it's a nice place for a solid pizza and beer.

Sponaneous pop in at the downtown location. Had just landed in Boise and was driving the down town area. Flatbread caught my eye. Have a great "pick two" for lunch ($8.95). You get a choice of two: pizzas (individual size), sandwich, salads, pasta and soup for a mix and match. I had the Neopolitan Quattro Formaggi pizza and the Chicken Arugula salad. Both very good. Salad dressing is a little thick for the salad, but it comes on the side. NIce place.

Eh. My fiance and I visited this spot for a quick lunch after doing some shopping downtown. We were just visiting Boise, in town for a wedding, and someone had recommended this place to us. My fiance said his pizza--just margharita-was nearly the worst he'd ever had, and he almost gagged. Mine was just ok--I had a Caesar salad and Bella Roma pizza. My meal tasted fine, but made me really sick soon after. We would never go back.
