Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Mmmm They grill all their own chicken and they make well portioned clean feeling food The grilled burritos are my fav. Large enough for 2 meals (if you're committed) but not heavy gut BOMB if you end up eating more. Recently we discovered just their chicken meals. Like KFC style, certain number of pieces with 2 sides etc. YUM I saw this broccoli salad side that looked awesome. Maybe had cashews in it? I asked about it and the guy who had it said he comes here once a week for it. The kids meals are a bit scarce. My son ordered the 1 drumstick with mac and cheese and he needed another one. He's 5 so maybe it would be fine for a 3 year old. (Maybe not though it was pretty sad) When I ordered the second one there was some confusion and I was a little irked but guess what! it came out bigger than the first one and he comped it due to the confusion. Good job proprietor! Kids meal discovery. THEIR MAC N CHEESE IS. THR BOMB!!!! They have a drive through window too so that's nice. I've been here around 10 times and never disappointed.

We were looking for Mexican food that wouldn't break the bank and when we arrived, the place wasn't very appealing and the menu looked outdated but im telling you this: the food was so fresh and so delicious. I always get the carna sada tacos wherever I go, and the ones I had here were the best I've ever had! The tortillas tasted authentic and the meat was so juicy and soft-not dry like some I've had. The flavors were so on point! My mother ordered the chicken and that was even delicious and had a smoked wood taste with a hint of spice. I will be coming back and absolutely recommend this place to others. My meal came with 5 tacos and was either $5.99 or $7.99 I can't remember but either one is still a really good price considering what you pay elsewhere.

What a great place! It's in between a fast food and a sit-down restaurant type of place. The charbroiled chicken was fantastically cooked. I ordered the green burrito special and it was HUGE! On the way out I noticed that they also have a drive thru. I will definitely be back.

Bought a Groupon for this place, and it was a great deal for 2 burritos and 2 drinks. The service was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. Sadly, the food didn't do anything for me or Dad. We explained to our order taker that we hadn't been in before, so she was very helpful about describing their salsa options for the burrito. Unfortunately, she said that even the pico de gallo was spicy. We ordered our burritos without any salsas. They were SOOOOO dry. Even the tortillas themselves were dry, as though they had been grilled to be heated rather than steamed. All in all, it was just the wrong place for a spice-averse diner to eat. Without the Groupon, the pricing is analagous to a Qdoba or Chipotle and both of of those have hot steamed tortillas and salsas that don't burn my mouth. If you're in a hurry, they do have a drive-through window. The restrooms were clean and generously-sized.

First time eating here - checked it out because of the reviews on Yelp that likened it to El Pollo Loco. Well, the chicken is definitely charbroiled like El Pollo Loco but that's where the similarities end. The flavor is nothing like El Pollo Loco though it's good in its own right - almost a teriyaki type of seasoning on it. Beware: the Caesar salad, although listed on the menu as breast meat is a mix of white and dark meat and appears to be the previous day's leftovers soaked in a sauce to disguise the texture. I would not recommend the salad. We also ordered the breast and wing combo which was pretty tasty and the broccoli salad redeeming. The sauces were all very spicy - including the creamy cilantro dressing but overall good flavored. If I ever eat here again I will get a salad minus the chicken and order a breast on the side :)

I'm a fan, although my wife might have reservations. We were hungry for Mexican food tonight, and we turned to Yelp for assistance. Searching for "mexican" near Meridian, sorted by lowest price first, Fiesta Chicken was at the top of the list, with 4 or 5 stars after 14 reviews. It's near our home so we thought we'd try it. The location is easy to find, although there is heavy construction going on right now on Ustick. As other reviewers have noted, the outside appearance is nothing special...if I hadn't read the reviews on Yelp I wouldn't have stopped. We were immediately greeted as we entered the establishment, although the person helping us seemed less than cheerful or excited to see us...perhaps it had been a long day. The menu was posted on the wall behind the front counter. I felt pressured to quickly make a choice, so I opted for the special of the day, Green Burrito, with charbroiled chicken, rice and salsa. (It comes with beans, but I prefer without). My wife ordered crispy chicken tacos with rice and beans. Total was about $13. The food came quickly, brought to us at our table. My burrito was delicious! And huge! I added more fresh salsa and squeezed a lime over it and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife's dish was only mediocre, however. The fried tortilla wrap was tough, with only the chicken as filling. It really needed some more flavor, perhaps onions and cheese. Drink choices were quite limited...Pepsi products and unsweetened ice tea. I'd like to return and try some of the other dishes. The burrito was very good, so I suspect some of the other menu items might be just as tasty. We can't recommend the crispy tacos, however. WiFi was available, but when I connected I was unable to access the internet. I suspect they need to reboot their router.

*****five star cafe***** What can I say other than I really was surprised about everything. Their facilities are super clean from the dining area to the lavatories to the kitchen; in which they have an open view kitchen so you can see them prepare your food start to finish. Excellently prepared chicken and fresh ingredients make these burritos delicious and flavorful. Great value for the large portions and they are sensitive to special orders. Kind and professional staff...highly recommend.

If you like giant sloppy burritos stuffed with meat this is your place. You won't leave hungry. Chicken is very good and tender. Lots of flavor. Leave your vegetarian wife at home. The portion and price value are excellent

FInally got around to visiting Fiesta Chicken after a friend's recommendation. I ordered the Chicken Burrito and nachos. I'm from San Diego and thus extremely critical of Mexican Food. The burrito was a good size, the chicken was seasoned well and tasty. The orangish salsa I had with it was a great degree of spiciness and had a great flavor. Great burrito. The nachos were good not great. Chips were a bit stale but even stale, the chicken, beans, cheese and salsa made them alright. Highly recommended. I'll be back.

Meridian's best kept secret in authentic Mexican food? I don't know why it took us so long to discover this gem but I see us building a long, enduring relationship here. Best burritos in Boise-Meridian area, hands down. We also tried the tortilla soup and it was very good - bold, hearty and just the thing for Spring.

Great place and low price... We were impresses. The grilled chicken burrito was excellent!

Don't let the outward strip mall appearance scare you away - go inside and give it a try and you'll kick yourself for not having tried it sooner. Best charbroiled chicken that I've ever had. Every dish is a great value - large portions, fresh, tasty! I eat lunch here about twice a month. The menu seems to stress the traditional Mexican fare, but try the chicken combo dishes and you will be blown away.

A very clean and nice restaurant. The chicken is very moist and grilled to perfection on the bone. I also had potato salad and rice for my sides and they were both great! You can tell they are made from scratch and with love. It has about 20 seats inside but they do to-go orders and also have a drive through! I recommend this spot to anyone that wants some great food at great prices. Go here...you won't be dissapointed!

Can't believe there's no Yelp listing for them, so I added one! Bought the "two fiesta chicken burritos + soft drinks" Groupon a couple of months ago and finally used it today, and the burritos were plentiful and yummy! I saved 1/3 of mine for the next day. The marinade/rub they use on the chicken is really special. I'm looking forward to trying their enchiladas and beef burritos and salads in the future. Prices are very reasonable. Not a whole lot of seating available. We arrived on an off-hour so it's likely that this place is great for take-out. That's not a negative, though. It's fast food that doesn't taste like it!

Love this place. Perfect for the bro that likes to lift. Chicken in everything! Big fan of the chicken tostada bowl salad as well as their chicken tacos. Giving this place a try at least once is a must.

Now I don't want to tell tales, but... These five stars must be from employees or friends of employees. Don't sell yourself short. You deserve better! I do wan't to mention; Great service, really friendly and I wanted to like it, but I won't go back. The food just had very little flavor and its obvious that there are not foodies working there.

Bought a Groupon for them (2 fiesta chicken burritos and soft drinks) and used it today. We got the burritos as take-out. They are some of the best burritos I have ever had! This appears to be a locally owned restaurant with HUGE portions and better priced that the big burrito chains in the area. Good service. As said in another review, the rub they use on the chicken is delicious. I will definitely go back and try their other food.

We stumbled upon this place by accident and it became a very happy accident! We've ordered burritos, tacos, etc. and the food has always been fresh and delicious! The service is good and so are the prices. I would have included a picture of the food but we ate it too quickly! Definitely go and give it a try!

I strongly recommend this place for its great food and service. Anything and everything on the menu is delicious especially their charbroiled chicken. Fresh and finger licking good.

Such delicious food! The chicken is so good! Juicy and flavorful. We've only tried a few things there but have never been disappointed. I think the Chicken Tostada is my favorite taco salad in town, and it's a steal for under $6! Try the creamy cilantro dressing, it is amazingly good! They have a few sides but we always get the broccoli salad because it is so delicious. We love this place because it's local to us and has a drive through and the food tastes very fresh. We always receive such friendly service. Great job to those who work there :)

Visited due to a Groupon. Very fast and friendly service. We ordered for take out. Fiesta Burrito's. They were very good sized and tasty. Try the green salsa.

Fabulous chicken, all I can say is that I'm disappointed I hadn't heard of this place before. Groupon brought me to it, my taste buds will drag me back again and again. If you love Mexican style chicken, seasoned to perfection in all it's forms, you have to eat here, at least until you've tried the entire menu.

This place is so yummy and I am so happy yet are here is Boise. Their prices are great and I love the Supreme Burrito. I will continue dining their.

When they first opened I went every night for a week. The chicken tortilla soup is wonderful as well as the broccoli salad. And of course the burritos are fantastic.

I have not even finished my meal yet as I write this review! I am sooooo happy I found this place, the salsa is great and the food is great! The owners are here working and you can tell by how good the food is. I had the fiesta burrito and a chicken quesadilla, I liked everything so much I'm sure I'll be back in a few days!! Update- there is a review that claims the five star reviews for this place are not legit! Mine is, I don't know the owners or employees. I'm glad I found this place because it reminds me so much of the food I ate at friends houses as a youngster, authentic and good!

Best Chicken Burritos ever!!! My husband and I have been searching for a staple burrito place...and we found it!!
(5)Kimberly L.
Do not work here nor do I know the owners. We are new to the Boise area and have been looking for good mexican food...This place has it! The chicken is outstanding! The burritos are huge, the rolled tacos are yummy & the taco salad?? It's a favorite! And to top it off the service was great! Super nice people!!! In Fact, I think this is whats for lunch today! :)
(5)erina b.
Love the chicken, tastes just like El Pollo Loco chicken. The owner is nice and always give good service. The chicken goes all the way to Sun Valley often! The place is also clean.
(5)Amber S.
This place is a hidden treasure. Food is quick, fast, and fresh. Staff is always friendly as well. My favorite item is the fiesta burrito, it's big enough for two meals, but do good I eat the whole thing!
(5)Michael M.
great flavor ... good tortillas, and Pico was great. yeah El Pollo Loco is good but very commercial. I do miss their green salsa. but this place was good, and the chicken was cooked just right. not too dry, as El Pollo Loco can be. Ill Def be back soon. next time a whole side of Pico. need to have beer, and I'd eat in.
