In my cross country journeys over the years there are certain delicious restaurant memories that refuse to fade. The vegetarian pockets of New Hampshire's D'Angelos, the Cali Burgers of the North Jersey Shore's Windmill, the "scattered smothered n covered " hash browns of the South's Waffle House & then there are the addictive gravy biscuits of Boise's Capri Restaurant! A visit out to Boise is not complete until dining for breakfast there. Tom, please branch out to Atlanta - your food rocks!

Me and the boy come here every Sunday for breakfast. You will see a line out the door for a table, but usually people cycle through pretty quickly, and we usually only have to wait 15-30 minutes. The Capri has all the basics down: good food at a low price. The waitresses are great, keeping your coffee cup full and calling you Sugar while they're pouring. I like the whole wheat hotcakes and waffles, and the french toast is great! Added plus: they have both a Bronco flag and a Vandal flag hanging in the dining room. As a U of I alum, I appreciate seeing a little silver and gold in what is usually a valley tinged with blue and orange!

Maybe not the best in Boise, as advertised, but they are great and consistent at what they do. Definitely top 5 and I go there often for their no nonsense kind of style.

I have lived here for 45 years and never have eaten here. Just recently my boyfriend Howie Garrett took me there and I loved it. The staff is outstanding with their quick service and excellent food. Since the first time been there repeatedly!

Fast paced, seat yourself at the first clean table, conscientious staff and lots of folks who know each other well. Awesome bacon! Above average biscuts and gravy. Perfectly cooked over medium eggs; this has been rare in my experience of diners (I order over medium to receive over easy) Well priced for a not too greasy spoon american diner.

Exactly what you think......typical western diner food. Nothing more, or less.

Great place to go for a downtown hangover cure or a pre-ski breakfast on your way up the mountain. Nothing fancy here, just simple and hearty breakfast dishes.

This place is a staple in our home, my wife is here on average a couple times a week, our whole family eats breakfast here every weekend. If you are looking for an old school diner, w a never empty cup of coffee, affordable, consistent food & friendly service you can't beat this place. It's like walking in to Cheers... They remember you and your favorite dish. Great waitresses, always make you feel at home...

Was taken there for breakfast by some locals . . .place is pretty small, but that's cool. Friendly staff. Coffee cup was never half full and it was decent joe. My eggs were a bit over cooked and the hashbrowns were luke warm, but I think that's because my party had about 9 people in it, so someone's place had to chill while others were being finished. I'd go here again, but it's not AMAZING, just better than Denny's or IHOP. IT's really cheap so that helped me not pick on the quality of the food. Basically the price matches the food and the food doesn't totally suck or anything. The butter on my toast tasted like the same butter they put on movie theater popcorn so that was yum. Who doesn't like movie theater popcorn? It's so bad for you; yet tastes so good . . . They have a cinnamon roll, but it doesn't taste like they make it there, so it's an individual's taste buds that need to decide on that one . . .it's not the diamond find of Boise, we're still looking for that, but it's cool.

Everyone needs that trashy breakfast joint cure-all. This is mine, and apparently for a lot of people. Large portions, good prices, and good service. For a large serving of biscuits and gravy, 4 slices of bacon and bottomless of mehhh coffee (of course), my bill was about $8. Not bad, considering I practically needed to be carried to the car. I am thankful for Capri, especially after hitting the town hard the night previous. (Don't expect to just walk in and order on a Sat/Sun. Always a line.)

The Capri is a Boise institution. I've been coming here as long as I've lived in Idaho and it's a great place. Very low key, nothing elitist or bourgeois here. Just dependable breakfast food at affordable prices.. What really stands out at The Capri is the warm, cheery demeanor of the staff. As for the interior, it's always clean & IMO totally full of vintage charm, like a step back in time. Go Capri!

Solid diner. Came in on a Saturday, place was packed. For good reason. Real eggs, great ham. EXCELLENT SERVICE. Completely filled my expectations of a great diner.

Having traversed food deserts for days on end, stumbling upon Capri as we passed through Boise was a welcome change of pace. The positive reviews on Yelp swayed us enough to give them a try. And we're really glad we did. Though a bit divey (sticky tables, kind of dark inside), Capri also has a certain mom n' pop diner charm to it that makes it feel cozy. It's a seat yourself establishment, and though it was quite busy (around brunch time - weekday), the workers proved to be friendly and attentive. So far so good. Menus are kept at the table, which allowed my partner and I to mull over options while we waited on our waters. The food offered at Capri is pretty standard diner fare -- burgers, fries and plenty of breakfast options such as eggs, omelets, waffles and pancakes. Prices are great too, with most meals in the $7-$10 range. I decided to go with their Avocado, Bacon, Tomato and Jack Cheese Omelet -- a 3-egg omelet absolutely stuffed with gooey jack cheese, chunks of thick, perfectly cooked bacon, and diced tomatoes, then crowned with slivers of lightly seasoned avocado. The omelet came with a side of toast (which I declined -- they had no GF options) and a nice helping of fresh, crispy, golden-brown hashbrowns. Portions were huge, cooked just right and absolutely delicious. I got a hot chocolate with my meal, which was alright but tasted/looked like it was made from generic hot chocolate mix. Not worth it. My partner opted for the Hotcake Special (with a side of hash browns), which came with lightly scrambled eggs (his choice), strips of perfectly cooked, thick bacon and enormous, fluffy pancakes (hotcakes) that were quickly drowned in syrup and devoured. The hashbrowns, as mine were, were crispy and golden-brown perfection. My partner also had a coffee with his meal, which he described as 'decent/ok'; he was also pleasantly surprised by the actual Half and Half available for his coffee. All in all, our visit to Capri was great -- you can't really beat the prices, the tasty food, and the friendly service.

Let me make this abundantly clear... While there might be several reasons to eat here, in my book, there is only ONE reason... and that is The Cowboy Potatoes. It is a $3 upcharge, but it doesn't matter. Do it. Splurge. Uncharged. Pay whatever amount of money it takes to eat these potatoes instead of whatever potatoes you were thinking about ordering. *Word to the wise* I would avoid the hash browns. It's possible that it was just an off day, but they tasted like straight oil, and we weren't able to finish them. The Cowboy Potatoes on the other hand...ER...MAH...GERD.....Those things are like spackle from heaven. They will literally fill every little crack in your soul. My only regret is that I had to share them with Blue. When I return, and I will return, I will ask for nothing but a giant plate of this and only this. Both of our omelets were very tasty, and our server was SUPER friendly, but it's the potatoes I will be dreaming about as I sit in bitter longing in Utah. Cowboy Potatoes. Yes.

I live nearby, but had never pulled in to the Capri. I decided last weekend it was time. I ordered the breakfast pork chops, which came with eggs, hashbrowns and toast. Everything was tasty. The waitress was friendly and there were a number of regulars who came to visit their friends. Great atmosphere and multiple copies of the morning Idaho Statesman to read. I laughed when I noticed the paper box outside had my mug on it. First time I've seen one of those.

I went to the Capri today because I have been told for years that it is great breakfast place. It is located next to a motel on Fairview that is probably not the best place in town to stay in unless you are on are a really strict budget hence the name the budget inn. I sat at the bar stools as instructed by the sign since I was by myself. I was going to order the French toast, eggs and bacon but at the last minute the chicken fried steak started calling my name. Unfortunately a choice I would regret. The Service was good but my Food sat waiting for about 5 mins. Before the waitress brought it to me. But the cook noticed that I saw this and was kind enough to put more gravy on the chicken to warm it up. The Egg and hashbrown were perfect! But the chicken fried steak did not taste good due to the breading on it and it had too much gravy. I wish I could explain why but all I can say is it was over breaded. The meat tasted fine though and I did scrap off the breading as much as I could. I was asked like 5 times if I wanted a coffee refill which was excellent because I would rather that than not being asked at all. I Would try out again but next time for a cinnamon roll or the French toast which looked really good. The lunch options also looked amazing. The onion rings are HUGE AND Thick and looked delicious!! The prices were fair also. I will post the pics so you can see.

Walked about a mile from our Air B&B to have a late brunch here and was glad we did. Had the hot cakes with eggs and bacon: just exactly the stuff you'd expect from a longstanding breakfast diner with mostly local clientele. Fluffy pancakes bigger than your head, thick bacon and eggs sunny side up, done to a turn. Good standard coffee. Don't expect gourmet fare here... Just the kind of food guys in real cowboy hats and Wranglers come to eat. (And if you're a clean freak, don't visit the loo.) All in all, exactly what I wanted after a week of mostly great but self-conscious "cuisine."

A hidden gem! Delicious, fast, cheap! Classic diner with quality, scratch made food (or so it seemed to me). Get the cinnamon roll for $2.65. It's giant, fluffy, and the perfect amount of sweet. Great place to go solo (sit at the counter) or with a few friends. First come, first serve. No waitlist; you just grab the next open table. Probably tough for parties bigger than 4. Only 2 bigger tables available. My husband got the corned beef hash and cheese omelet and LOVED it! I got the hotcake special and they were great but the thick bacon they came with was FANTASTIC!

Large portions and probably the friendliest service in the valley. I love this place. The breakfast menu is your typical Americana but you will not leave hungry or disappointed. I come here for two things. One of them is the super nice staff who usually put a smile on anyone's face. The second reason is what makes this one of my favorites. Go on a saturday or sunday morning. The crowds are beyond interesting. It's a nice blend of older country folks, truck drivers and people who are so hung over you swear you can see their head trembling. If Edward Hopper had painted a breakfast joint instead of a night diner, this would capture the atmosphere pretty well I think.

All things considered, I enjoyed the food at Capri as well as the customer service. I stayed at the adjacent Budget motel that for two nights while on business in Boise (that's another story) and tried Capri for breakfast during BSU's graduation weekend this year. This location is quite festive in the morning, given its proximity to the motel and other businesses on Fairview Avenue. Starting with the food, I would rate it 8/10. It was pretty good (slightly greasy), yet palatable. I was so hungry that I really didn't want to waste time eating fast food anywhere on Fairview Ave, so I chose the meat lover's omelette along with a side of hashbrowns and a cup of coffee. I think that I paid a total of $11 before the tip. Very filling, which served its purpose in not keeping me hungry for several hours. The seating is not bad at all. There is a bar area (where I sat at), as well as side tables on the far left of the dinner wall as well as within the front and toward the right of the venue. The bar area had some very "interesting" conversation from travelers and locals alike, which actually lightened up the mood. The servers were attentive and very sweet, and made sensible recommendations on the food items listed within the menu. If the decision came to choose fast food versus this location, I'll take the latter for $500, Alex.

I had to eat here a few times before I could truly give this location 5 stars. it's becoming our favorite breakfast spot. I would definitely recommend it. Love their daily specials!

I am a HUGE breakfast fanatic. It's, by far, the best meal of the day. That being said, I love breakfast joints. I have two favorite kinds: hipster-ish coffee shops that can serve up a good dish, and divy, hole in the wall joints. The latter being my #1, and how I would describe Capri. Until this morning, I had heard of Capri and I had seen Capri -- not knowing they were one in the same. This place rocks! It's a classic dive, outside in. Connected to a Budget Inn, it almost seems like an odd place for a restaurant. You're greeted by old school wood paneling and bright orange pleather booths. The waitresses were super friendly, called me sweety (my favorite) and knew most of the customers by name (not to mention, knew their orders). As a few of the regulars walked out, she shouted "See ya tomorrow!" When the regulars are daily regulars, you know it's good. I'm a sucker for restaurant hot cocoa. And no, I don't mean coffee shop hot chocolate made with steamed milk and imported chocolate -- I mean straight out of the machine with a pile of extra thick whipped cream. And Capri's? Oh boy, does it deliver! I judge breakfast joints based on three things: Biscuits and gravy, waffles, and chicken fried steak. This morning I opted for the biscuits and gravy and was not disappointed. The biscuits were soft, but also a little crispy (don't ask me how); the gravy thick and filling. The eggs were cooked to my liking and bacon was pretty good, too. They let me sit in a booth for over an hour, even after finishing my meal, without making me feel rushed (I came in before work, having extra time to read). Did I mention how CHEAP it is?? Maybe cheap isn't the right word, but a breakfast meal under $7 and hot cocoa under $2?? Sign me up! I got a cinnamon roll to-go because, well duh. I'll report back on that. I will definitely be eating at The Capri Restaurant again -- likely to sample the waffles and chicken fried steak!

I'd never been to Capri for breakfast before. I found myself headed for work earlier than usual this morning and decided to stop in. I'm glad I did! I owe big apologies to friends who have been telling me for years how good breakfast is at Capri. Yes, the building is not new, it looks like a dive- but in my experience some of the greatest local eats are found ins these 'greasy spoons'. I walked in and took a seat at the counter (as a sign asks 'singles' to sit there). I took a glance at the white board to see the specials, and the server poured me coffee (after asking if I wanted it of course) handed me a menu, and brought water. The breakfast menu is extensive, just about anything you want in the 'stick to your ribs' department. Although I cringed a bit at the header 'dieters corner' I could see that they offered also options for those seeking lighter fare. Now, I'm not a fan of the whole 'pumpkin everything' craze that strikes in the fall. It's about as repellant to me as the whole 'peppermint/eggnog everything' craze that follows, but something told me I needed to try the pumpkin hotcakes. I ordered the 'hotcake special'. Two hotcakes (duh), two eggs and two strips of bacon. The server (darn I wish I'd gotten her name, she was great!) aid she wasn't sure the cook had mixed up the pumpkin hotcakes(I asked if I could get them in place of regular hotcakes) yet, and I told her no worries if not. However when she asked (since I could see and hear things at the pass thru). The cook (who I later found out was the owner) was happy to get them going for me. As I waited I enjoyed my coffee (Farmer Bros.), dinked with my phone and soaked in the friendly atmosphere. Regulars were coming in, being greeted and chatting about this and that. It was a comfortable welcoming feeling that even I, in my business casual attire with my employee ID on a lanyard around my neck, felt a part of. Capri is known for it's portions and boy howdy it's true. My plate arrived with two salad plate sized, thick, steaming pumpkin hotcakes, two eggs (over easy) cooked to perfection and two thick, large, crispy enough (but not too much) strips of bacon. The server put the whipped cream (which I didn't know came with) for the hotcakes in a separate cup so my eggs would not melt it. I'm a 'knife and forker' when it comes to hotcakes and eggs, so put my eggs between my pancakes, distributed the butter, spread the whipped cream on top and cut it all up together. I stared with NO syrup to get a cleaner tasted of the hotcakes, and for my first bite chose a morsel that was not totally inundated with egg yoke. Folks, these are no 'pumpkin flavored' hotcakes, this is pumpkin mixed into the batter, not too sweet and not with an overdose of 'pumpkin pies seasoning' mixed in. The pumpkin is not over powering. The hotcakes are not heavy, but neither are they too light. Having satisfied my desire to experience the full pumpkin flavor, I dove in. I probably should have stopped eating when I was about 2/3 done, but I simply could not bear to leave any behind. The server, not overloaded with patrons at the time, was doing the day to day things that keep a place like Capri running smooth, filling condiment containers, updating the white boards and such. We chatted a bit as I enjoyed one last cup of coffee. That's when I learned that the 'chef' was the owner, and that he has a history of doing what folks want to make sure their experience at Capri is a good one. I paid less than $10 for my meal. I left satisfied in more ways than one, and I'll be back to Capri to try other menu selections. In recap, don't let the 'dingy' appearance or the location sway you. Come hungry and in a mind set to enjoy a full local experience. You'll leave happy- so long as you aren't of a mind to expect any hipster/yuppified flim-flammery. This local 'hole in the wall' is a diamond mine. At least to me.

Well here it is...pass by this place everyday on my way to work. Located in the same parking lot as a run down hotel and so you assume the worst from the beginning. After years of good reviews from folks I decide to make the trip a part of our schedule for our busy Saturday.. It is typical breakfast food and nothing to rave about however the line out the front door this morning followed by the waitstaffs patience and wonderful service with how busy they were was impressive. I think the food was what you would expect. I'm not going to rave or complain......we all enjoyed our food and the staff was attentive, the atmosphere was fun (all walks of life were enjoying the food!) We don't typically ever go out for breakfast but it was an experience and we enjoyed our time. Thanks for a good start to our day!

Had no clue this place existed. Really small diner/eatery. Don't go here for the look but for the food. Ordered biscuits and gravy with bacon on the side. Everything about it made me want to stay. The big slices of bacon were perfectly cooked. The gravy had so much flavor and the biscuits were on point. I forgot to order extra meat in my gravy like usual, but for how it came already, I couldn't complain. Definitely going back for quality

Capri is definitely a great restaurant. My wife and I ate there every morning for a week recently during a stay at a nearby hotel. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Our orders always arrived exactly as we requested without a long wait. Coffee and water was always promptly topped off. The food is delicious and the ambiance is very relaxing. We tried several of their breakfast dishes and they were all fantastic! The french toast special and egg combo breakfasts were especially delicious! This place hasn't changed since I used to go here in the 90's. Thank goodness because it's still awesome! Hassle-free dining is hard to find these days so hats off to The Capri!

After reading the reviews online, we decided to give this place a try. It lived up to to hype. One of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. The bacon is to die for, the eggs were cooked just right and prices just can't be beat. The line out the door may turn you off, but it's worth the wait.

Came a tribe from the north very hungry, bearing cravings for cinnamon rolls. Tried and true to subdue all the food. Go Vandals! Go hungry Vandals! Come in and eat Vandals eat. Eat on with stomachs wanting sweets. Food will fall before your silver and your gold (Treat that's sweet!). Eat for real cheap. Cannot keep me from pancakes. So all sit down for breakfast time, come on and eat at Capri C-A-P-R-I Capri, capri, Dine! Dine! Done! Eat for real cheap. Cannot keep me from pancakes. So all sit down for breakfast time, come on and eat at Capri, (came a tribe from the north very hungry!) Let's eat!

Stopped in here for breakfast on our road trip back to Portland, and we were definitely impressed. The service was friendly, and the food was superb. I had the Denver omelet and my husband had the eggs benedict--both delicious. All in all, I can see why this place is so highly reviewed. We'd definitely stop by again if we were in the area.

Great spot for breakfast. Service was quick, friendly and they kept the coffee cup full. Unfortunately they didn't have the cowboy potatoes this time but according to the waitress they sound amazing so will definitely make a trip back.

If all you have is $7 in your pocket for breakfast this is the place. it is dingy, long lines, and cheap food. I've had better.

The food at the Capri was really good. I had the Bacon, tomato, cheese omelet with extra crispy hash browns and a really great oversized biscuit that was toasted or grilled. Very good food but the restaurant could use some cleaning and sprucing up. The orange vinyl booths were tattered and torn, windows and window sills dirty and old mini blinds. Our waitress was very nice and overall had a great breakfast.

The place incredibly lovely. The place doesn't look much due to its location but the breakfast was delicious! It has a really homey and local vibe. Perfect place for a breakfast and/or brunch if you're in that side of town :)

My girlfriend and I went here for a nice Sunday breakfast despite the fact that breakfast joints are always super busy on Sundays. This place was definitely busy. When we arrived, we had to stand just outside the door as the waiting line was too long to stand inside. However, in no time at all the line disappeared and we had a table. The waitress who served us wasn't exactly friendly but she wasn't rude or mean either. We got our food in short order and it was all quite tasty. Nothing spectacular, but all cooked properly.

I absolutely love this place, I have been coming here for over 10 years and don't ever plan to stop. The biscuits and gravy are just amazing. Good food for an even better price. I've lived in the Boise area my whole life and barely found out about this gem of a hole in the wall around 5 years ago. My boyfriend and I are pretty much regulars now at The Capri, it is never a let down! It's the best place in Boise to go for breakfast that is cheap, delicious, and also a nice option if you're hungover. Don't go here if you're looking for something fancy, you'll grow to love the ghetto decor. :) I also love that it's local, and not a chain restaurant where you taste the same thing over and over. The servers are all super nice and have been the same ones I've seen in the last 5 years or so, so they must enjoy what they do. They aren't open too late, they usually close around 3 PM so stop here if you're looking for breakfast or lunch. It's typical diner food but it's oh so yummy. My favorites are the Capri Special with sausage instead of ham, and the corned beef hash omelette. On the weekends you usually have to wait in line for a bit, but it's well worth it.

People who work at the restaurant make such a difference in the whole experience. People who work here are so nice and seem to care about the customers a lot. They fill out your water and coffee right away. Very good vibe. The ambience and the price too is very nostalgic :) I had Fried Egg Burger and it was so ono!

  • GARY B.

Ate here for our first time. This is a small place that is just okay. I would not go out of my way to eat here. I had the eggs benedict. Do not order this if you expect hollandaise sauce, which is what you would expect on eggs benedict. They serve the eggs with a cheese sauce which is terrible. The slice of ham was okay, but it was not on the muffin with the egg. My wife had eggs, hash browns, and sausage links. The sausage links were not very good. She did not care for her hash browns. We ordered a hot cinnamon roll to split and it was large and tasty. Over all, the food was nothing out of the ordinary. The prices were very good, but food was nothing exceptional over all.

My wife and I love the Capri. If you don't know it's there, it is easy to just drive right past it and the motel it is attached to. And there can be a line to get in, so I am not too anxious to encourage others to visit. But the chicken fried steak breakfast is awesome and huge omelets loaded with fillings keep bringing me back. Not to mention yummy pancakes, biscuits/gravy and huge cinnamon rolls. But even good food at a great price isn't enough if the service isn't good too. Eating here is like eating at grandma's house, The waitstaff is awesome! Stay away! I don't want the line to get longer!

  • Liz T.

I really loved my breakfast here! The plate was HUGE (I got an egg plate, can't remember what exactly) and stacked high, and best of all, the fruit on the plate were all berries! None of that crap melon filler stuff! For how busy it was, the service was pretty good. I do wish they had more seating though!

Let me begin with saying that this place is a dive. It is something that I would expect to find just off of the Vegas strip. The waitresses are old school, there is wood paneling and horrific looking mirrors. There is a stained smell of smoke that you can tell this place was totally the same but barlike and dingy before the smoking ban went into effect. That being said, for what it is... it's freaking awesome. I love places like this, so in my book all of the above are not problems. You're coming here for quick food that you lick off of a greasy spoon. Perfect ambiance for hashbrowns and biscuits and gravy (which weren't the best I ever had, but nonetheless were pretty tasty). The staff seems like they have been there for years and are friendly, chatty, but not over the top. Breakfast is good, lunch is too. I'm a big girl and they have nothing but booths. This isn't a good thing when the booths are small but for most people I guess that wouldn't be a problem. At least it isn't the kind of place where anyone is going to stare! Either way, I liked it and when in the area, I'll definitely be back!

  • Nick N.

What isn't to like about the Capri? Fair prices and outstanding service compliment the good food. Yes, there is a wait most mornings but that should clue a wondering visitor as to how well this place is liked!

  • Alex S.

We stayed with a local for our brief time in Boise and he recommended we all get breakfast at Capri. At first glance, it was a typical greasy spoon all-American diner. Upon further inspection... nothing changed. He had recommended me the eggs benedict which had a cheese sauce (I assume in lieu of Hollandaise) but man did that suck. The sauce, not the dish. The eggs were poached fine and the English muffins were inoffensive. The best part of the dish was the thick cut of ham steak that surrounded the benedict duo. I wish that the ham itself was ON the muffin as the traditional recipe calls for but perhaps it was better that they were spared from the awful intoxication of that cheese sauce. What was worse was when the cheese sauce coagulated with the runny egg yolk. Yuck. I tasted my friend's chicken fried steak which seemed like a better, albeit heavier, option. But it was under $9 for all of that, so at least I didn't feel ripped off. Plus the people there were super friendly and helpful.

I LOVE LOVE diner food and this please rules. I went around town a while back pretty much trying all the diners club sandwiches and this one is top notch. Burgers are good too. Everything Highly recommended. Their hours suck so I can only go on the weekend if I go but it is a little diner so I understand.

Great hole in the wall diner for breakfast or lunch. The staff is a lot of fun, GREAT drip coffee, great food, and extremely fast service. Breakfast and lunch are both great, I haven't had anything here I was disappointed in. I have probably eaten here 20 or more times and the price is also a great deal.

Best Breakfast in Boise... The staff is nice, it is like being served at home. It kind of reminds me of the Waffle Houses we use to frequent when I went to college in Alabama, minus that same fly at every one! The prices are unbeatable and the quickness upon which you receive your food is unmatchable! I highly recommend!

I have driven by this place many times and have seen it full almost every time. So I decided to go for breakfast with some friends last week and now I know why. The food and coffee where good, the service was great, and inside it was very clean and tidy. Along with all of that, the cost for three breakfasts was about $20.00! I can easily see myself going back again in the near future. Especially if I was hung over. Good work Capri Restaurant, you tiny little gem!

I've lived in Boise most of my life and had never even HEARD of this place until this week when my niece suggested we try this diner located in the parking lot of a very budget motel. It is mighty tasty. The biscuits in the biscuits and gravy were crunchy yet soft. The gravy was good but lacked something I couldn't put my finger on. My niece enjoyed the veggie cheesy hash browns and I thought the french toast was yummy. This is the place to go if you want a home cooked breakfast but are too lazy to put in all of that effort.

Make no mistake, this is an old school diner. The decor, menu and most of the staff have probably been long before you were born. But it is perfect for a good, cheap and unpretentious breakfast. The Biscuits are some of the best we have ever had, soft and flakey... they cut them and fry a side in butter. There is no doubt they will take a month off your life, but SOOO worth it. Omelets, hash browns, pancakes and waffles are all pretty straight forward but very tasty. I would probably never suggest this type of place for lunch or dinner, but for breakfast it is nearly perfect.

100% what I was hoping for. Would I go here for my anniversary? No. But when I want a bottomless cup of coffee, biscuits and gravy, or any other classic breakfast fare, this is where I'll go. Friendly waitstaff, decent food, and very affordable prices make this a go-to spot!

Finally tried out the Capri after driving by here half a hundred times. To me this is your quintessential greasy spoon diner, and that's not a bad thing. Its inexpensive, with decent portions, great prices, and good service. You're not going to find anything gourmet here, but its a great place if you're just looking for decent breakfast at a decent price.

Well, kiss my grits! Flo doesn't actually work at this greasy spoon, but she could start a shift here and nobody'd say a thing. I went here today with a couple of coworkers and they agreed that if you're looking for a good cheap breakfast or burger this is a great spot. The philly steak sandwich wasn't so hot, but the super friendly staff more than made up for it. I counted six customers (and surely missed some) that the waitresses hailed by name as they came in. They were laughing it up and their attitude was infectious... you know, in a good way. Bottom line, check it out for some cheap greasy eats. Flo, I'll be back fer shur.

This is got to be the best place in boise for a dang good cheap breakfast. The portions are huge and it is hot and fresh. I've tried many and you can't beat them. The building looks shanty but it is well worth your time. Get the special and you can't go wrong. Cheers.

We love our greasy spoon hangover remedies, and the Capri delivers. While it isn't the best in it's 'genre' (I give that honor to Sunrise), the service is friendly, the coffee's hot, and the food's tasty and cheap! We stopped by for the first time on a Sunday morning - I love how trusting my hubby is - the fact that it shares a parking lot with a seedy motel did make him a little nervous. We did have to wait for 5-10 minutes, but the customer flow is steady - you show up, you eat, you leave. Easy! Our server was friendly and efficient, and our food was delivered promptly. One thing I did like is that they weren't all about quantity - the portion size was smaller than what you'd normally see at a greasy-spoon. All in all, the Capri is a great little spot that we'll probably visit again.

My favorite and most affordable breakfast in this town. Don't get me wrong, I love Goldy's, but sometimes, I just need my greasy spoon, and Merritt's is really great for an all nighter and with little choices left besides a Denny's or Shari's, but I hold a special place in my heart for the Capri. I love that it is attached to a somewhat sleazy looking hotel, the various crowds it draws, and the fact that the food is damn good and cheap.

Their biscuits and gravy are like crack to me! I keep going back despite feeling so rushed to get "in and out". They don't like you lingering - which is the only negative as I am a pretty slow eater. But that never stops me from going back again and again.

They claim to be the best breakfast in Boise they are not. I went there for breakfast the other day and it was good and low priced but the service was not great. I would recomend Sunrise on state st. or express on fairview the food and service are much better.

Go Capri!

After reading the reviews online, we decided to give this place a try. It lived up to to hype. One of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. The bacon is to die for, the eggs were cooked just right and prices just can't be beat. The line out the door may turn you off, but it's worth the wait.

They claim to be the best breakfast in Boise they are not. I went there for breakfast the other day and it was good and low priced but the service was not great. I would recomend Sunrise on state st. or express on fairview the food and service are much better.

Yes.

What isn't to like about the Capri? Fair prices and outstanding service compliment the good food. Yes, there is a wait most mornings but that should clue a wondering visitor as to how well this place is liked!

I absolutely love this place, I have been coming here for over 10 years and don't ever plan to stop. The biscuits and gravy are just amazing. Good food for an even better price. I'm pretty sure some of the staff has been here since before I started coming here and they are as nice and friendly now as they were then.

People who work at the restaurant make such a difference in the whole experience. People who work here are so nice and seem to care about the customers a lot. They fill out your water and coffee right away. Very good vibe. The ambience and the price too is very nostalgic :) I had Fried Egg Burger and it was so ono!

Go Capri!

After reading the reviews online, we decided to give this place a try. It lived up to to hype. One of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time.

The Capri is my favorite spot for breakfast! They have pretty awesome pie too! I always get the biscuits and gravy special. The BG amazing! I am looking forward to my next breakfast there.

I absolutely love this place, I have been coming here for over 10 years and don't ever plan to stop. The biscuits and gravy are just amazing. Good food for an even better price. I'm pretty sure some of the staff has been here since before I started coming here and they are as nice and friendly now as they were then.

Fastest breakfast in the city! Eggs Benedict was glorious, and the serving size was perfect. Coffee always full and the wait staff watches like hawks

Yes.

What isn't to like about the Capri? Fair prices and outstanding service compliment the good food. Yes, there is a wait most mornings but that should clue a wondering visitor as to how well this place is liked!

But that never stops me from going back again and again.

perfect for a late breakfast although please do ignore the seedy motel next door... the coffee was spot on for me,i polished off my food and the service was excellent!there was a bunch of old folks that totally added the charm to this boise diner..

They claim to be the best breakfast in Boise they are not. I went there for breakfast the other day and it was good and low priced but the service was not great. I would recomend Sunrise on state st. or express on fairview the food and service are much better.
