I wanted to rate Baja 4.5 stars because I do have one downside to this great eatery... I don't like the atmosphere. It IS extremely clean, bright and sterile. It's just not a cozy place for a date or a place to want to hang around in. That said, the FOOD!!! I think Mary Poppins had just had lunch when she or Bert came up with "SCRUMPDELICIOUS!!!" My wife and I had spent a lot of bucks and time trying to find somewhere to replace Gloria's which while had great food the cleanliness of the place kept going down, down, filthy. Really wasn't expecting much from Baja since it is a chain and the let down as far as the atmosphere. If you want sight seeing go to Twin Falls and drive down to Shoshone Falls if you want delicious Mexican food in a ultra clean establishment... Baja. Haven't had ANYTHING I would not recommend but if you like fish tacos or burritos or fajitas get the WAHOO! Never have I had a more delicious piece of cold or WARM water fish and consistently so. The next best to me is the Pork... Don't know how they do it but every damned bite taste like my favorite part of a pork roast... the heel. I'm having to swallow constantly right now just thinking about the blend of spices and just the right amount of salt. YUM! The condiment/sauce bar makes it so YOU get to customize just the right amount of heat and/or fresh flavors such as chopped cilantro. Wide ranges of salsas and other dips. Gotta quit now.... Got a bit of my FREE birthday burrito in the fridge and it's screaming my name... shhhhhhhhh shhhhh on my way!. later

My review might be a little harsh, as I have been living in border states the past decade where there is authentic Mexican food... I used to love this place, but honestly, it was too basic. Only a step above Taco Bell, really... Although the service was fine, and restaurant was clean, I didn't LOVE the food. I think that was my last visit at Baja Fresh.

Everyone knows what type of food Baja Fresh serves. The customer service is never great at this location but the food is decent. Overall it's a pretty good place to grab a bite if you can get over the rude service.

If this place wasn't so busy at lunch time it would get a 5 star rating. If you can call and order ahead it will save you a good 15 minutes. The Baja bowls here are awesome. The surf and turf always hits the spot. The mango salsa here is one of the best around. Must try.

Being from Houston I'm weird about mexican food outside of Texas, but this is a good place to get your mexican food fix. The chicken taquitos are good, and I love the salsa bar!

Years ago we had a Baja Fresh in my hometown, my husband loved it and then one day it suddenly went out of business. It was always packed, and the food was good so I could never understand why it disappeared. Then imagine the husbands ecstatic surprise when we moved to Boise and we discovered that there wasn't just one but multiple locations in the city, he was in heaven. If your going to eat fast food, which is what Baja Fresh really is, this is the place to go. The food really is fresh and you have the ability to control what you eat or what is put in your burrito, taco, etc. The staff is always friendly and we are always greeted with a smile. Literally every time we go, my husband comments on how much he loves Baja Fresh and the fact that their are no onions in the guacamole. It's really rather cute. The husband is averse to onions, he hates them as I have mentioned before, but he loves mexican and southwest fare, so coming to Baja Fresh for him means no onions. I've not been disappointed with what I have ordered and the little extra you pay is worth it for the fresh veggies & meat as well as the freshly grilled food. My only complaint would be, the climate control when it's warm outside it's warm in the restaurant, and if I am a little uncomfortable imagine how the poor guys behind the grill feel.

With time before the plane took me back to Portland Brother #2 and I decided to have lunch at Baja Fresh. Since I had only been to them in the Portland area I was intruiged to see how the chain held consistency in other areas. We met up with Brother #2's, #1 Wife, and went to chow down. While it was laid out just a bit different than I was used to as the food arrived everything had a familiar ring. Everything we had, quesadilla, tacos, chicken torta were all excellent. Once thing I have experienced in Portland area is the inconsistency of salsa tastes from location to location. On one hand it just proves that everything is hand made, on the other you're not sure about the heat index. This location had the tastes I expected at the heat levels I wanted. Service was friendly and fast and the place was clean from drink station to rest rooms. Nice to know you can, so far, trust a Baja Fresh to be consistent.

Delicious, but PACKED. This is the place to be, it seems, so plan to arrive before or after the lunch/dinner crowds! Great food, clean atmosphere, healthy choices with calories displayed and easy to read, and wonderful flavor. Never feel bloated afterwards. I recommend both the bowls and the burritos! Average meal without a drink or extra chips is still under $7-8.

My family loves Baja Fresh! Excellent service, awesome burritos and the best salsa in town. We have tried other similar Mexican concepts but they all fall short in our opinion. I love the Burrito Mexicano with grilled fish, my kids love the Nacho Burritos.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
