Have you ever woke up hung over and just needed something salty and delicious to shock you back to life? Enter Bacon. The Bacon LTA is heaven on bread. For some extra heaven get more bacon on it. While the restaurant is a little off the beaten path in terms of down town restaurants, it is a must go to at anytime.

BOISE, ID: This funky fun little diner downtown is owned by a local restauranteur with three places. This is the low-key breakfast one. I know bacon has sort of worn its course as an innovative food to mix with sweet stuff like caramel and chocolate, but this restaurant has always done it well, and it's the best BLT I've had in the western United States. Order the BLT. And order it with avocado.

Saw this on yelp, so thought I'd give it a try. I had the BLT. Good sandwich. A little unorthodox on beverages but was good. Wife had biscuits and gravy and was really good! It's on my list to visit again, next time in Boise.

One of three food establishments in the John Berryhill hat trick (Bacon, Plan B bar, Berryhill restaurant) inside the Bank of the Cascades building downtown, it may be useful to set expectations in advance of visiting Bacon for best experience. This is an order at the counter place, the food is precooked and heated when ordered (except for eggs which are steamed at order) and the coffee is served from hot pots on a self serve counter. Not that there's anything wrong with that, as Seinfeld and George Costanza were known to say. The food was good enough, the staff was so helpful and friendly and the interior is relaxed. We'd happily go back if someone suggested it but it isn't a place we're likely to seek out and that is simply a matter of different strokes for different folks and no failure of Bacon's. The format just isn't our thing. MENU Appears overhead and also, thankfully for those of us who no longer see that far that well, on paper menus you can peruse at your leisure and take away with you if you like. Choices range from bacon sampler, to dishes with bacon and dishes without, from breakfast themed dishes with steamed eggs as ingreidents to deli salads (in the case), sandwiches and even bacon lasagna. Prices start at $1.50 for one strip of bacon and go to about $19 for a pound but most menu items are in the $6 to $9 range. FOOD & VALUE "Wnen in Bacon"...we decided to try the sampler. The dish was cleverly arranged with each of the options labeled (see photo). Eight varities of bacon, one made of tempeh, were included ($11) and if there is any kind you don't want they substittute a kind you do want. With a (big) biscuit served with honey butter ($2.25) and two cups of good (if lukwarm due to hot pot service) Dawson Taylor Coffee ($1.50 each / 12 oz) we had more than we could eat and bacon to take away for BLT salad for dinner. We enoyed the just slightly spicy / sweet Berryhill bacon best, thought the pancetta was far too salty and found the herby flavors of the Kurobuta bacon intriguing. We don't eat a lot of bacon so we appreciate good quality like those served here when we do. We also sampled the bacon lasagna as take away to reheat at home. (Whether reheated there or at home seems to make little difference for made ahead food.) Fun to have tried. Once. ($8.95) LIBATIONS Coffee, soft beverages, beer and wine, Bloddy Mary, mimosa... AMBIANCE Neighborhood feel in a downtown setting. High tables and high perch stools (ugh) and low tables with standard height seating as well as a sofa and wing back chair. Some reading material, books nd magazines, if you want to read while you eat. Worth noting, didn't see a single person of the several dining there on their phones...engaged in conversatin with each other instead. Hooray...there's a novel idea! SERVICE Perhaps the most charming element of Bacon is how friendly are the people behind he counter. Nicely done. They give you a number when you order and run the food to your table when it is ready. THIS N THAT: 1) THANKS: to Yelp friend Brad W. whose directons got us here when my GPS failed me. 2) THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD THAT LEADS TO THE LOO: Can be found by going out through Plan B bar and turning right inside the lobby (Cascade Bank is across here and Berryhill restaurant to the right) then down a flight of stairs or down an elevator to the basement level and down a ramp to the loo. Seriously. I'm sure with all the coffee service you may want to know this. 3) ACCESSIBILITY: One step up into the main entry. For level in entry, use the side door into the Cascade Bank building lobby and then make a right through Plan B bar whichh leads to the back entry of Bacon. Bacon itself is one one level once inside. Standard table height seating options. For loo see note above. Ramp down to loo is steep. You'll find a second elevator direct to the loo level right inside the building lobby door. It is not marked (it should be but it isn't) and it will take you direct to where you need to be to avoid the steepish ramp. Loo doors are FAR too heavy to meet ADA and Idaho Building Code so a wheelchair user may need assistance with them. 4) OUTSIDE SEATING: Near sidewalk at main entry weather permitting.

I'm giving it two stars just because their staff was awesome and the bloody mary's were good. Other than that, their bacon has literally made my husband and I, never want bacon again. Do NOT order the Bacon Sampler. Like, how do you mess up bacon? All of the flavors tasted like rotten feet or dog treats. I just threw up in my mouth thinking about it. Not to mention, I wish someone would take Berryhill down a notch, not exactly the nicest person. If you're a bacon lover, don't go here. You'll be throughly disappointed as we were. Barf.

MMMMMMMMMMM........Bacon Chocolate Chip Walnut & Bacon cookie; had to try it yummmm. And the sandwiches are pretty good too. Great breakfast or lunch option..

I decided to give them another try, after all bacon is bacon. I tried their breakfast burrito and I immediately regretted the times I passed on eating here based on the one experience. The burrito is exceptional. A combination of scrambled eggs, salsa, bacon, and potatoes that hold so much flavor. The eggs are very light and they mix them with salsa which makes it so that every bite has salsa. The bacon is what truly distinguish this breakfast burrito from any other. The bacon has a hint of Rosemary and I think maple as well, but it works really well in this burrito. For an amazing flavorful breakfast burrito Bacon is no. 1 in my downtown Boise book.

They're getting a 3 because I tried lunch for the first time and it was just so-so. They were out of soup and sourdough bread by 1 p.m., what a bummer! So I had the turkey bacon sandwich on wheat and potato salad. Lunch was very high priced, that ran about $14 and it was nothing spectacular. I felt like I could make the same sandwich at home and the potato salad was pretty good, I liked the dill in it. Brunch on the other hand is much better. I've had it a couple of times and as the name states, the Berryhill bacon is very tasty!! There's many flavor options including a spicy one that will set your mouth on fire! They have beautifully crafted bloody Mary's that my fiance enjoys and I love their spin on a mimosa, the bimosa. It has blood orange in it, so good! I will be back for brunch but probably not lunch. There's so many other delicious lunch options downtown at a better price, I think I will stick to what they excel at!

This place is pretty awesome considering bacon is a most delicious treat! Ate here for breakfast with family. Got some kind of breakfast sammy with bacon of course. There were sooo many bacon flavors. I felt like I was on a Beggin dog treat commercial (me being dog). Cute logos on their shirts too. Check this place out - its pretty good.

This place is Bacon me crazy. To draw a comparison it's like a thousand wildebeast running through the grassland as birds serranade the earth. It's that feeling you get when you wake up after a ten hour sleep. Cinnamon toast crunch awesome. It's laying down in a bunch of comforters as a hundred puppies luck your face. It's a parking spot right in front of the club. That's bacon

    (5)
  • Doug T.

I thought they had a creative selection of bacon and bacon food derivatives.. probably not the best place if you're looking for a Kosher / Halal restaurant because even the vodka is bacon infused. Try the chocolate dipped bacon hot.. It was pretty interesting.. I was a little bummed that they were out of the Kurabota bacon, but it's a sign to me that a lot of the bacon is cooked fresh. They have great sandwiches and breakfast foods made from bacon too. check it out.

I eat breakfast here almost every day I am in town, and they never disappoint. There is simply nothing not to like.

  • Thérèse HC W.

I love it's interior design. The environment is warm and friendly. It has sofa at the back, it is very comfy to spend time with your friends or family at they spot. It makes me feel like I'm sitting at my own living room and talking to my friends and family. I also love that they separate the cafe with the bar. I know bacon is their most famous food. However, that day I got there, they were about to close, so I only ordered a cup of hot chocolate. It was ok. But I'm a big fan of chocolate, their hot chocolate was just not rich enough for me. But I'll definitely check out their bacon next time I'm in Boise.

I got to sample some of their breakfast food at a catered event. Let me just say WHOA that's some tasty pig! The bacon was glazed with a bit of a kick, so it was fatty, tangy, sweet, spicy and just damn delicious! Eggs were really great too! The potatoes were a bit dry, and that's my only beef with Bacon (get it?).

    (5)
  • Chad H.

Really disappointed we tried to order three different things and all of them were out of stock. The sampler bacon was good though

    (2)
  • Jennifer D.

Bacon was pretty tasty. I order the egg sandwich on gluten free bread and it wasn't too bad. I'm a vegetarian so I didn't actually have any bacon, but it looked tasty. They have bacon samplers that looked great. They also had bacon infused vodka for bloody Mary's. It was a great concept and really quaint. It was pretty cool.

    (4)
  • Nina D.

It's a bit pricey but I'll tell you what...that was the best dang panini I've ever had in my 27 years of life. Been talking about it all day. Nonstop. It was so good. So yeah, I had half of the Bacon & Brie Panini and a cup of Bacon Corn Chowder. Both delicious! Again, do your mouth a flavor (Ha! Get it?) and get the panini.

  • Troy M.

Ate here on memorial day for breakfast. TERRIBLE! The bacon was the only thing edible. My lady had their "potatoes" and half a scrambled egg. Literally that small of a portion. The "potatoes" were gross, she even had me try them to confirm it wasn't her, yuck! My biscuits and gravy was the smallest portion/price I've ever experienced and i think the lid may have come off the salt when they were making the gravy, ugh! Bacon bloody Mary was good as was the bacon. They didn't have any forks so we had to use plastic, absurd for a business that charges for the name on the front. Customer service was border line non existent and the place wasn't even half full, I'd hate to see what happens to all these kids when they're at capacity. Don't waste your time unless you're just out for a drink and a piece of bacon.

    (2)
  • Jamie Lynn M.

The main ingredient in everything they serve is bacon...that can never be wrong. Plus, they serve beer. Have been here a couple of times and it is good every time. I especially like that they do local deliveries via bicycle!

    (4)
  • Mike L.

For a place named Bacon, I expected the bacon not to be chewy and undercooked. I also had waffles and they were basically Eggo waffles out of the freezer. My eggs were great though.

    (2)
  • Taveya M.

    1. The customer service was amazing. 2. The bacon met my high expectation. 3. Very well priced. I have been trying to get here for awhile. Our trip was well worth the wait. I will be going back... regularly!

    (5)
  • Mike H.

Very unexpected. Reminds me of Bend or Portland. Very relaxed very laid back. Simple straight forward menu, self serve coffee, limited seating but not to busy. The Bloody Mary was easily the best part of the breakfast. Not to say the meal was in any way disappointing but the drinks had so much flavor. Total bill for two with 2 drinks was $25.00

  • Danielle M.

A bacon-lover's paradise. Huge fan of the bacon sampler (would have never guessed that I liked chocolate bacon) and the LTA (lettuce, tomato, and avacado...with bacon, of course!). It's awesome that they also do drinks. Fast service, friendly staff. Only downside that we noted in the two times we went was the bad habit of telling us they were out of ingredients after we'd already ordered (out of this kind of bread or that kind of mixer), which was a little frustrating because we would have changed our order if we'd known in advance. All in all, though, definitely worth a visit for breakfast or lunch.

  • James D.

The staff and the coffee were great. I'd return for those reasons. But I doubt I'd spend that much for a re-heated breakfast again. The three of us in my party agreed that our food tasted like it has been cooked earlier in the week, and warmed up in a toaster oven. We all expected more from a breakfast featuring the Berryhill name. We agreed that fighting the crowd at Big City would have been a better option. Much better food there for the same price. If I were reviewing Berryhill's breakfast alone, I'd struggle to give it 2 stars. In fact, this experience is why I even bothered to download Yelp again. But the people working there were the friendliest and maybe most welcoming crew in town. And I understand that their Bloody Mary was amazing (I'll stick with coffee). And it's almost worth the trip downtown just to be treated so nicely by their staff.

Went for breakfast on Christmas Eve day after working overnight at St. Luke's. Eh...just okay. The "salsa"...yes I used quotes...on the eggs was not nearly as good as I can make. Coffee was just okay. Won't blame them for not being able to have a Bloody Mary at 9am. The Berryhill bacon was very good. If I were to go back, it would be to simply to pick up a pound of bacon to go.

So good...and bacon...lots of bacon. 8 different kinds. Great staff. Everyone asked how it was. Must go back.

  • Meghan H.

We got brunch here today & it was fabulous! Best bacon I have ever had, by far! Lives up to the name. I got a biscuit with honey butter since they were out of strawberries for the French toast & it was delicious and so filling. Yum!

  • Kerinne M.

Split the bacon sampler and it was amazing! There was one variety that neither of us were fond of but it's definitely still a must try. Also, bacon coffee was one of those things where I wasn't certain that breeding two things I love would result in a beautiful love child, but I was wrong there! That was delicious as well. Bacon risotto cake was a bit dry but had good flavor, worth the try but I can't rave about it. And my boyfriend had the bacon Mac and cheese and enjoyed it but wasn't overwhelmed by it either. I tasted it and it was very flavorful but not in cheese or bacon flavors. More peppery and there's another spice I can't put my finger(or I suppose tounge) on. Customer service was great and has a very cute atmosphere. Another yelper mentioned wanting more for the price but I disagree completely. Possibly because everything in Boise seems reasonably priced compared to Seattle. But either way I'd highly recommend trying it out especially if you're an out if towner looking for a one of a kind place. If there were a Bacon in Seattle you can bet I'd take any and everyone I know there to try it out!

Omg! This place is AMAZING! I had a BLT with avocado, and a bacon sampler. LOVE the bacon sampler! I also had bite of the blueberry muffin and it was excellent. The staff was super friendly and helpful too. We will be back!

A "bucket list" restaurant for bacon lovers, this café/deli-like joint has a good variety of simple breakfast and lunch items with an upscale twist. And if midday cocktails are your thing, Bacon advertises a signature Bloody Mary that, with all of the garnishments (including a strip of bacon, of course), appears to be as much of a meal as it is a drink. You order at the counter, and if you eat there instead of to-go, you're given a number plaque and choose your own seating. Having a very casual and relaxed atmosphere, they provide table and lounge seating inside. Outdoor sidewalk seating is also available. In my opinion, the best choices are a lounge seat if you go alone or table on the sidewalk if you're there with friends. As a first-timer, the menu seemed a bit overwhelming. Personally, I'm not a fan of complicated sprawling menus with more than a few dozen items to sort through, so I asked for a recommendation -- the Bacon Brie Panini -- which I ordered. Great choice, by the way! (More on that later.) The employees are knowledgeable and willing to help. In general, the service is friendly and prompt. I didn't wait very long for my order. The beverage arrived first and a couple of minutes later, I received my sandwich. My Bacon-Brie Panini was perfectly crisp on the outside and full of flavor on the inside. When ordering, if they ask if you want the (included) red onions on the sandwich, keep them. They really add a nice dimension to the flavor without overpowering it. I was going to give Bacon a 4-star rating at first, but my slight distaste for difficult choices was negated by my love for bacon, great service, and a tasty panini. Next time, I'll order a sampling of their bacon selection. Also, I still have their famed bacon lasagna in my sights. Overall, if you don't like bacon, that's okay... more for me!

If you like bacon, and let's be explicit here everyone does. If you claim not to you're just filling yourself (I'm talking to you vegans) so since you like bacon, this is the place for you. A venerable collage of your classic breakfast dishes with a classy twist. Brioche French toast with a strawberry puree is my go to for those lazy Sunday mornings. Everything is tasty. Everything. But what really pulls it all together is the bacon (shocker!) All 7-10 different varieties of it. Including a meat free vegan option! Hurray! The Berryhill bacon is the way to go if it is your first venture here. Sweet, salt, spicy, crunchy, tender... Literally all of these at once. It is a perfect piece of dry cured pig. If you are a Boise native, or just passing through, I insist that you make Berryhill's a must taste stop. Even when busy the food comes out quick, so you've got the time, and you'll be glad you did. Here's to you John Berryhill. Whatever you're doing, keep doing it. It's working.

    (5)
  • Andrew H.

John Berryhill's restaurants perpetually underwhelm and often disappoint me in terms of service. It doesn't matter how good the food is when you're treated like trash. That's exemplified by the fact that I've waited at a table for one hour to be brought water, let alone have an order taken without apology, and had three in a $1000 work party served raw spareribs, making me refused to come back or take any corporate business to his restaurants.

  • Rina K.

Well, unfortunately, it's just kind of O.K. Bacon. ... I tried the spicy bacon, seasoned Korabuta (local wahoo!), and chocolate bacon. And, yeah, well, it was just "A-OK" as the caption for the three star rating says. I'm sure it'd be a whole lot more expensive to get it All local, but I think it would make it a Whole Lot better, and be a Whole Lot worth it. The Korabuta was a lot fattier than the other two, with a more complete flavor. That'd be the bacon I'd recommend if I would recommend this place (TBD). Probably my biggest objection to the place would be: who puts MILK chocolate on bacon? Who does that?! Spicy bacon wasn't really anything of note. It was a quiet winter day (or maybe that is every day?), so we had some pretty nice window seating and a friendly cashier.

  • Andy M.

I think you could call this a "concept deli" that glorifies bacon, and I love bacon, but the strange thing about it is that there isn't bacon in most of the menu items. There is a case with bacon of varying types, but that's an up charge to add it to most of the menu items. So overall, it's a good concept with bad execution. My experiences here have been a mixed bag. I've been here three times for breakfast and once for lunch. Lunch was good. Breakfast has been highs and lows. I usually get bacon and eggs (no surprises there) and sometimes it's a great experience and sometimes I get cold eggs and bland food and they run out of coffee. So overall, I've had a variety of "four star" experiences and a few "two star" experiences here, so it evens out. My fiancee made it pretty clear she's never coming back here again, so it's unlikely I'm eating here again. That's a shame because this place is good when its good, I just wish it wasn't so inconsistent.

  • dawn v.

If for no other reason, come here and order the bacon sampler to get your pig on. But I'll save you $9: the berryhill or candied bacon is far superior to the other options. Don't bother with the egg or French toast dishes for breakfast as they are just average. You can do better elsewhere. But you have come for BACON: bacon scone with a side of Berryihill, (order by the slice) and a coffee is my recommendation. Order at the counter. Everything is self serve.

I Stopped here for brunch on my way to Seattle from Salt Lake City. The breakfast burrito was great! I was very impressed with the unique taste of the bacon. It had a semi-spicy, sweet, savory kick to it. Great experience!

I'm from Seattle and this place is a an absolute gem. You could put 15 of these restaurants in Seattle and the name of the place alone would draw hundreds. Amazing food, amazing ambience. The self server dollar coffee is genius. Most restaurants that specialize in breakfast will still get one of the key pieces wrong (bacon, eggs, toast, cakes, potatoes, coffee, etc). This place was spectacular in all. The potatoes are crunchy but moist and soft, the toast is well done but not burnt or old/cold and the honey butter is the perfect addition. The eggs that have that steamed feel with cheese and tomatoes and spices, ugh amazing. And the bacon. I need to take a minute to swallow the 6 pieces I already have in my mouth before I start on the bacon. Genius idea to do all different flavors. Even more genius to sell them individually and inexpensively. The atmosphere has a very homie feel with old wood and couches and lots of windows. Feels like you're at grandpas cabin. I'm almost dreading going back home to Seattle because it means I won't be able to eat here for a while! Do yourself a favor and come here every day for the rest of your life.

Bacon is a bit spicy, which we like. The potatoes were great and best of all - Gluten Free Bread.

  • RJ S.

I stopped by here for lunch after a customer meeting. Had the Bacon Lettuce and Avocado sandwich. The "BLA" had the berryhill bacon and I really enjoyed the sandwich. I also ordered the Maple and chile bacon to try different pieces. Overall the bacon was ok. It doesn't taste as fresh as you taking out of the frying pan. The sandwich was ok for a similar BLT but didn't make me say OMG. Maybe next time I will try more breakfast items. If I am ever back in town, I will try it again.

Bacon was alright, but why settle for just an alright breakfast when you can head up the street to Goldy's or Cafe de Paris? Both are leagues ahead of Bacon!

    (2)
  • Piper C.

I ended up eating here because Goldys was way too packed. I went in not knowing what to expect. The place is known for their bacon clearly. I ordered the breakfast burrito. It was pretty tasty. I also had a scone. It was the best of all. This place is great for an adult breakfast. But my poor little brother was not pleased with his order. He asked for bacon and sourdough bread and a fruit salad. In all fairness he did indeed receive the order as planned. But because he is 7, the chili covered bacon wouldn't work. As well as the toast with tangy European butter and a fruit salad covered in mint. Everything looked and tasted slightly different than he expected so he was not pleased. Though it tasted fine to an adult. Therefore, good adult place. Don't take kids.

We parked our butts at a table in front of Bacon and watched the July 4th parade while munching on several different types of bacon, as well as bacon risotto balls and bacon potato cakes. The prices were reasonable, and the bacon was very good, especially the pancetta bacon which we thought was awesome. Would be nice if the outside had a larger section for alcohol service, but we managed anyway. I wouldn't go here everyday, but once in awhile it is a great treat!

  • Baylee C.

For the hype, I expected so much more from this place. Over priced, tiny portions. DRY brioche french toast? It's hard to even imagine brioche being dry. Came with a puddle of strawberry something on top. Friend got some sort of mediterranean egg white scramble, and all she could taste was the egg and pepper, she wasn't even sure if the cheese (feta?) made it in the dish. Also her blood orange mimosa came with normal OJ, and the berryhill bacon that they have a self-proclaimed fame for was awfully sweet; it tasted like it was oven baked in straight molasses. To make our experience all the more awkward, there were some workers fixing the sign outside, and whom appeared to be the owner was standing in the middle of the restaurant mean mugging the workers, and kept going out to check on them. He was making everyone in the dining area very uncomfortable. I don't plan to return.

  • Bailey H.

the blt had great bacon on it and it was good but the sandwhich by itself with no sides or drink was almost 10 dollars. there were three people there and we bussed our own tables and the apple lemon and cucumber water were in broke down plastic cups. For that much money expect a lot more.

    (2)
  • Gwen S.

I have to agree, this place did not meet my expectations. I honestly expected more. I ordered the french toast and couldn't believe that it was precooked! Who precook's french toast? Then I noticed that everything was precooked, from the bacon to the eggs, it was so disappointing and so overpriced. Over a $1 for a slice of precooked bacon?? I think not. I could not have been more disappointed. I gave the extra point because the pastries did look good.

  • Rhonda S.

The bacon is amazing! Six different kinds, some really good breakfast options like burritos and quiche. Good service, nice environment. Loved it so much I bought Bacon coffee cups!

    (5)
  • Shannon L.

Skip it. A glorified deli complete with old, dry salads and pre-made sandwiches a glass fronted case. Even the bacon is sitting, cold and congealed, in the case. As if I'm going to spend over $1 a piece for that! Ditto what other reviewers have said: the food comes out one selection at a time. I was half done with my salad before the soup came out. I was mostly finished with that before my friend got her biscuits and gravy. It's all serve yourself--water from a glass jug in plastic cups; get your own silverware from the side shelf. Very low end for upscale prices.

  • Alan R.

Wonderful breakfast place. Had the biscuits and gravy, biscuits were great, gravy had to much fennel. The bacon was out of this world.

  • Chad H.

Excellent bacon breakfast burrito and good french toast. Finally a good breakfast place downtown. We read other reviews about poor service, but we found that not to be the case. The people were friendly and our food was served quickly. I would have given it 5 stars, but I prefer to have a soda with breakfast when I'm out (don't really like coffee and milk gets warm waiting on food). I am not a fan of paying a buck fifty for a can. Make it BYO soda, or put in a machine and I'm in for 5 stars.

First off the display is beautifully done and the atmosphere is quite cozy and nice. However me and my girlfriends had a disappointing lunch experience. Which seemed to happen to the table in front of us as well. So, our experience was not a fluke. Our drinks took about 10 minutes to come to the table. Our blood orange mimosas arrived in lovely custom glasses. Needed a bit more of the juice and less champagne. But, that might be personal preference. They look better than they tasted. 15 more minutes passed and one dish arrived but not the other two.The other tables were getting their food who arrived after us. Finally our food arrived and the wrong dishes came to the table. They scrambled to get us the right dishes. Finally we had our food about 1/2 hour later. The bacon potato salad was good but, the sandwich seemed basic. The biscuits and gravy was ok but, the portion was small and lacked a bit of flavor. Expected for zing for the price tag. The breakfast burrito was rather small and again a bit basic. Butt she ordered a side of bacon and only received one piece. Missing the fine print that said per piece. We suggest the counter asks how many slices would you like with that. With all of that being said we will give it another try and hopefully the service will be better. But, for the price of each item we did expect a bit more. Especially on the customer service side of things.

I know this place has been very hyped up, and the decor/looks of it makes it look very upscale and beautiful. The food IS pre-made THAT day with all fresh ingredients. John Berryhill is very smart and knows that Boise needed yummy, fun, unique food for people working downtown on their lunch break. My only complaint was that the service was slow. I was the only person in the joint, 3 workers behind the counter, and it took way too long to heat up my soup and twice baked potato for a "to-go" order. The girl at the register was extremely slow (she was obvi. new). On the upside, the food I ordered was SO yummy. They also gave me a free sample of some kind of savory bacon scone which was TO DIE FOR and I'd wish I would have ordered that. Overall, Don't go in a HURRY go with you have at least 15-20 mins. Try it for yourself and see if it improves and proves the nasty reviews wrong.

I ordered the "big" green salad with a piece of maple bacon chopped on top for $6.50. I GOT about 10 pieces of spinach with 5 craisins and dressing on the side. After I took the "salad" back to get my bacon and remark on its minuscule size, they added more spinach, feta cheese, craisins and my bacon. Since they had some cracker samples at the counter, I grabbed a handful of those to complete the meal. The quiche and bakery items are ginormous and appropriately priced.

Everyone with bad reviews needs to know this place is a bistro. Service was great, friendly, and entertaining. We enjoyed the bacon sampler, which was amazing. had the bacon cappuccino which was different but good! Recommend this to my fello baconeers!

I am a fan of Chef Berryhill...but NOT of this place. Not even of this places bacon (except maybe that Maple covered one).

Got the french toast special... huge mistake. French toast was cooked hours ago.. Was like eating leather with syrup and strawberries. Also didnt like the pre applied syrup as it ran into the cheese eggs... The cheesy eggs might have been good if they were not cold and tainted with syrup. Bacon strips were okay... but with a name like Bacon.. I was expecting something great.... Service seemed disorganized. Had 2 people try to figure out how to refill the coffee station... Also the station needs to be redesigned ....people were going back and forth looking for things causing delays.

My wife and took the kids here after learning about it. We did the bacon sampler for 8.95, part of the sampler was to include chocolate bacon, there was no chocolate. We did get 2 pieces of toe fu "bacon" which was gross. The rest of the samples were good. I really liked he candied and jalapino flavor. My bisquits and sausage gravy were OK at best. The sausage gravy was tasty, the bisquits were on the dry side. The staff was really nice and the free coffee over on the side wall was a nice treat. Return? Meh. Probably not

A little overpriced and slow, not really worth my time.

Didn't quite know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. "Waitress" suggested great items and the Bacon Bloody Mary was terrific. Recommend the Berryhill Bacon and the Rosemary Bacon...so delicious. My only complaint was it seemed a little pricey, bit not enough to discourage me from going again.

Flavors were strong and make sure to get something with Honey Butter! Serving portions are generous. The burritto kept me full until dinner. Though have to agree with other reviewers the food does not come across with that fresh cooked touch. "Assembled partly from previously cooked ingredients" might be the description.

YUK!!! MY DOG WOULDN'T EVEN EAT IT They only get one star because there in not a choice of no stars or possibly NEGATIVE stars Microwaved / reheated but still cold GROSS "breakfast" After I got this mess refered to as "food" that I wasn't going to eat after the first bite, I tried to feed it to my dog as we were out for a walk and he wouldn't even eat it! I will never be going back to Bacon for any reason. Overpriced, nasty so called "food" that could easily be gotten at a drive through chain restaurant for a third of their cost. STAY AWAY FROM BACON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gourmet bacon strips, delicious flavorful breakfast dishes, tasty coffees, and warm beautiful decor. Service is friendly and accommodating. This is a small and streamlined deli style breakfast/lunch establishment. No, it's not Goldy's, but it isn't trying to be and fills a different niche. Quality and comfort are top notch here, and I'll be back for more maple rosemary bacon.

Bacon coma... That is the state I am in now. The bacon sampler is a must to determine which bacon is best. The candied bacon and berryhill bacon are a great balance of sweet and savory and smoky goodness. What goes better with bacon than a bloody Mary? The house bloody Mary is made with bacon infused vodka (did you expect anything less??) which gives it a little something extra. THE place to eat for anybody who loves bacon!!!
