I have got to say. Yum! My husband and I came up to Ashton for a quick trip away from Yellowstone and Targhee. Happened on this place as one burger joint we were going to try was closed and I couldn't be happier. The food is legit. I'm a New York foodie after living there 7 years and this place would have brought me back. Don't think - just go if you are in the mood for a burger....and maybe a malt shake.

This place is delicious! I'm not sure why some past reviewers are so crazy about what the bathroom looks like. I tend to eat at places based on their food... not their bathrooms, but I digress. The hamburgers are some of the best I've ever had and you can't beat the fresh cut fries. They have a large variety of different types of burgers. I got the bleu cheese burger and I was extremely satisfied with it. Listen this place is a little "divey", but if you are looking for an excellent burger and fries, then stop in.

This place totally surprised me. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much. I ordered the Hawaiian chicken sandwich with fries. This was a great sandwich with a real chicken breast cooked perfectly. The fries were real. We had 20 people there and we were all pleased to find this place. A few days later when we didn't have dinner plans, everyone wanted to go back. This time we ordered 4 of the big burgers - just had to do it. They tasted great, it was tons of food and we got pictures of the kids holding a huge burger. They use real food here. I would definately go here again.

We are leaving fat and happy! Excellent cheeseburger and homemade fries. Loved the novelty of the 1 pound burger. Fed 3 of us for under 20 bucks. The service was awesome too and fast even though it was lunchtime Saturday. They share the bathrooms with the truck stop and they are nasty but the restaurant itself is clean.

My family love coming here! We always get their 1 lb hamburger, an I can barely eat a quarter of it. The meat is delicious, and the atmosphere is so fun. The food tastes great, and I love their huge ice creams. This is the place to come with a big appetite! I'm not sure why the reviews before were not so great, but the attendants I've had have been really friendly and we got our food pretty quickly.

Excellent Service, Food portions were huge, my double hamburger was about 6" tall, the place was very busy. This place came highly recommended from 4 different people. Would have given 5 stars if they offered Wi-Fi, they are out in the boonies but worth the drive from Rexburg, ID. There was no cell or data coverage at their restaurant. also only one bathroom for the whole restaurant Men and Woman with a long line. The drinks are GIANT. Very fun place.

On my way back from Yellowstone, I was starved. Stopped in but couldn't get past the filthiness of the dining area. The place looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. Almost every dining chair had foam falling out of it. I walked out. If the dining area is that dirty, I couldn't imagine the mess in the kitchen.

So I went in to big Judd's to get some take out about two weeks ago. It looked like they were at the end of their dinner rush so I cut them some slack and waited about five minutes. During this time several waitresses made eye contact with me yet never acknowledged my presence. The dining room was filthy and so was what I could see of the kitchen. After five minutes of standing and being locked at by people who obviously didn't want my money i left and I won't be back again.

Got a hankering for a Big Big Burgers then this is the place. The hamburger filled the the plate and fed 5 people. I recommend the double patty to balance out the ratio of bun and meat. The fries were ok I suggest the restaurant put sweet potato fries on the menu. Big burger small town.

Slllooowww! Lots of food and fun but they can get overwhelmed quickly. The diner is in the back of a gas station. It can get busy though because the food is good and they have fry sauce. Great for burger after coming out of the mountains or fishing.

Excellent mushroom Swiss cheeseburger, huge onion rings, crisp fries, buttery cheese sandwiches, good corn dogs and chicken nuggets. Great service for drink refills and sauces. Has been a family favorite for 15 years.

Food is 3 stars but the sheer filth of the restaurant and restrooms bump it down to 1 star. Burgers are good, fresh cut fries are good and the service is very slow. Ooh, and did I mention the filthy dining room? Don't lean on or touch anything, check the ketchup bottle for long hairs, ours was a lucky one with hair. I won't even write about the bathroom since you may be looking for food options. Does Fremont county have a health department?

It's these kind of places that make me wonder if any inspections are ever done. Filthy, dirty and old. Service is slow and no one really cares. Weird place

We stopped here in route to go camping. Food get 3 stars with fresh cut potato fries and great onion rings. The burgers are come in big, bigger, huge, and ginormous sizes, but the quality is noting extra special. The place is a huge open room and is in need of some serious polishing. It is a local "dive" and area hot spot....one of those places you just have to try once. Beyond that, there is better food in town and cleaner places to eat. BUT, go eat a huge burger and get your picture on the wall while you are in town. Then you can say you have "been there and done that" and you can eat better food the next time.

If you're traveling through Ashton and haven't hit Big Juds yet, you've got to give it a shot (there are also Big Juds restaurants in Archer and Boise). The place has a huge menu full of bugers, sandwiches, and ice cream, and I don't recall ever being disappointed with my choices. I'm not saying they're the best I've ever had, but it's a good value for the price. If you've really got to feed the beast, try one of the burger or ice cream challenges.

Food is good. Waitress was horrible. We ordered a large fry and small fry. They both came out as the small fry. When I said why both the large and small are the same size she said. I don't know I am not on frys tonight. We had 3 parties w us. We asked to split the check 3 ways. Seemed to thoroughly confuse her.
