We spent New Years Eve with our two girls 5 & 1. My husband and I enjoyed the slides with our 5 year old!!! The red slide is VERY fast! The kids play area was perfect for a 5 year old and the built in swirly pool kept our 1 year old busy. We were happy we were able to bring our dogs with a small extra fee. Great time.

Went here on a Sunday for the 11:15 - 4:00 session. Place was pretty empty until around 1:00 and then it really filled up. My two nephews (11 and 7) had a great time and the price wasn't too bad ($12.50/kid). The slides were a big hit - they must have rode them 15 times in a row before taking a break. Pros: * Even though it looked small to me, kept my two nephews going nonstop for almost 5 hours * Seemed clean * Hot tub is for those over 16 only * Reasonable pricing * Can eat in the hotel or go across the parking lot to the Maidrite. We went mid-session and then returned to the park. * Staff friendly * I didn't pay because the hot tub was closed, but still went into the pool area to keep an eye on the kids. Based off of other reviews, I'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to work or not. * Free wi-fi. * Slides seemed fast, even for adults (there is a slower one for those that like things a little slower). Cons: * Call to make sure everything is working before you go. I called to double check on the hours and they didn't mention that half the stuff was not working (it was fixed a couple of hours into it, so all worked out in the end). * Not enough towels once things get busy. I would recommend bringing your own or grabbing a bunch when you first get there (if there are any). * Cash only at the snack bar. * Hot and humid for spectators. * Staff didn't ask kids to slow down and stop running.

Stopped by this place for a couple nights on my way up to visit my wife's friends in Indiana. I was looking for a family/kid friendly place for my wife and 2 year old daughter to stay at and found this place on trip advisor. the reviews were not too great, but I was interested in checking out the water park and to be honest there wasn't many other options in the area. this was a last second trip so I had to make a reservation only a day before I arrived and they were nice and pleasant on the phone. I asked about the water temperature because I read it on the reviews that it was too cold and they said it's been fixed now. anyhow I arrived pretty late because I had delays in my travel plans, but when I finally arrived very late for my reservation time. the front desk girl was very accommodating and understanding to why I was late. they got me set up and got us a room right away. important to us because my daughter was having a tantrum when we arrived. understandably though. the room was clean and the bed was actually comfortable. they even got me a baby crib. Usually hotels don't have baby cribs and to be quite honest, a lot of hotel beds are too soft and hurt my back. not this bed though. my wife and I were pleasantly surprised at the service and the room. the next day we checked out the water park. the water temperature was fine, not too cold, not too hot. all the slides and stuff were clean. it looked like all the kids there were having fun and especially my daughter who loves to play in the water. can't really swim yet, but loves to just be playing in shallow water. it even passed my anal wife's cleanliness tests. like the water quality, the guest towels, chairs, tables, etc. I mean it can never be like home but we felt it was sanitary enough for our daughter to play in. a couple hours later we checked out the hotel restaurant and food was good. ehhh, it could be better but I can't complain. all I remember is the staff was so nice whether it be at the water park, hotel services or the restaurant. well actually, there was one issue with not having enough towels in the room after we got back from the pool. but when I called hotel services, they got me more clean towels right away and it wasn't a problem at all. so all in all, it was great short trip on our way to Indiana and I would definitely come back here, but I doubt ill be in the Iowa area any time in the near future. thanks to the staff at the Ramada!

This hotel has changed hands and has been allowed to become run down and unkempt. The toilet in my room was wobbly. The yard has weeds and there are weeds growing in sidewalk areas as well as mold on outdoor tables and sidewalks. The sigh itself has lights out and it would appear that it has no one with an eye for detail just money. 10.00 to use the pool for one day water park more. The room was nice the staff seemed hospitable. The restaurant was sweltering hot and we left. Details details details. Someone needs to care about more then making money. Will not stop here again.

Booked my hotel thru Priceline and drove 80 miles planning to have a fun nite with my wife and 1.5 yr old at the kiddie pool only to checkin and find out that the kiddie pool/activity area was shut down and only the main pool and slides were open. Complete waste of time and money. Was not offered to come back another time when it was open and manager tried to charge me $20 to use the pool after it is shown as an included amentitie on the website, just a nice surprise they throw at you upon check in. Room had worn carpet coming up.

Perfect size indoor Waterpark for the little ones. Spent this past Sunday with the family for a nice little memorial weekend and the kids age 7, 6, & 4 as well as the 67-35 year olds! Perfect size and not to crowded especially for a holiday weekend. 2 slides, small kiddie are with slide, water basketball, a swirling round pool area, and closed off hot tub and sauna only 16 & above allowed in! I did not eat in the snack area however I saw many other quests do so and the food looked tasty. They supply towels and have both men and women locker rooms with showers in each. Note to all the red slide is much faster than the green! We are already planning on taking them back for a combined birthday party!

Stayed here just this past Saturday night. We got a Groupon deal for $100/night stay and decided to try it out. Check-in is at 3pm, but the staff was kind enough to allow us to use the waterpark when we arrived at 12:30 and they have a locker room where you can change clothes. When we entered the waterpark, the first thing I noticed was the equipment for the younger kids was out of order. This was a huge let-down, because then that meant we had to put our two youngest in a bigger pool with us (they can't swim yet). However, they did have it going again by the end of the day.. One thing I noticed about this hotel is there was a lot of things "out of order". When I see a place like this, I see an owner who is perhaps in way over their head and can't keep up with all the necessary (and probably costly) repairs. Some things that I noticed were out of order: Treadmill in fitness center, hot tub, Kiddie play area in pool, a few arcade games in the game center, various light fixtures, & cameras that monitor the water slides. (just to name a few) Also, the snack bar wasn't operational, and they had typically 2-3 lifeguards on staff that didn't seem fully attentive. They sat and talked amongst themselves or played on their phones. One I caught dipping and spitting in a bottle while working. (not professional). Overall, it was an OK weekend and our kids enjoyed it. However, I would never pay full price to stay here. It needs a lot of work and I expected better. The surrounding restaurants and shops were great! A lot of excellent food within walking distance to the hotel! Ox Yoke and Colony Village were great!

The family decided to visit Wasserbahn as a "mini" get together for the holidays. This is actually our second visit to the park (we also stay in the hotel, but I'll review that separately). The park itself is pretty nice. There is a hot tub (ages 16+ only - it's a great way for the grownups to have some sanity time while the kiddos splash around in the rest of the park). There is a "splash park" area for the smaller kids, with a smallish tube and a giant water bucket that dumps on the kids once in awhile. The standing water level goes from 0.0 to maybe a foot deep, so it's perfect for the little ones. The main pool area is fairly small, but it seems to work. There is a basketball hoop and balls, and that seems to be really popular. Unfortunately, because the pool is small, if you're not into jumping around playing waterball, then you're going to be disappointed. There is a small whirlpool off of the main pool that is fun, and the pool also features a "water bridge" that offers a fun challenge for all ages. There are two water slides (red and green - can you guess which one is the faster one?!). Head upstairs to check them out. They go outside then come back inside to finish. They were a hit with the kids. There is a "Wooden Nickel Arcade" off of the pool area, but it looked like it was undergoing renovation, so it was out of service. I recall from my last visit it being filled with extremely mediocre and older arcade games. Meh. There is a snack bar that serves typical stuff - nachos, Icees, Dippin' Dots, etc. Typically overpriced as well. Also, be warned that they don't take plastic at the snack bar - cash only, which is sort of a nuisance if you want to leave your cash in your hotel room... A couple of things to note - #1) the pool water seemed clean. But it was also HEAVILY chlorinated. I'm no stranger to pools - our family uses the local municipal pool every year. The chlorine in the Wasserbahn made my eyes water - the family had to be sure to shower off after leaving the pool area. And, #2) TOWELS. The hotel discourages use of "room" towels in the pool area, so they provide "pool" towels. Except there never are any. Ever. The staff would bring them out 12-20 at a time which would instantly be snatched up by pool patrons, but there weren't enough to meet demand. At one point, as we were getting ready to leave, there were no clean towels, so we asked a staffer, to which they replied "there are none". I'm sorry, that's just unacceptable. We just dripped on our way back up to our room and dried off there. Invest in some more towels, Wasserbahn! Or at least warn those of us with rooms that we'll want to bring our own, so that non-hotel guests can use the "pool" towels. Finally, overall cleanliness of the water park seemed to be... lacking. There are several tables and chairs near the pool area, and there was litter everywhere. Straws, torn off wristbands, etc. Just garbage. They need to have a dedicated employee who's only job is to do cleanup, sweeping, rearranging deck furniture, picking up wet, used towels (so they can get washed, dried, and back in rotation!), etc. Since it's centrally located for almost all of my in-laws, it makes a great place for us to get together, and I'm certain we will revisit the Wasserbahn. I just hope they endeavor to make some changes before then so we can bump them up to four stars!
