The onion rings were good. They were very crispy and very crumbly. As for the cheese burger and fries, they were average tasting. The burger tasted like they froze it before hand instead of making it in the restaurant. The service was good at first but once we were done with our food we waited for fifteen minutes for her to come out so we could ask for our check. The place was clean, open, and very classy.

I've been to several Legends locations and I think they're all pretty much the same: Legends is a good place to watch a game. They have lots of TVs. That's the only positive I can think of with this place. As another Yelp-er put it, "the service is frustratingly bad." I couldn't agree more. For lunch today, we went in and I ordered the taco salad without olives (one of the few things in the world I won't eat). A huge restaurant pet peeve of mine is when the waitress doesn't write down your order and you can tell they're busy. So sure enough I get my salad and that thing is loaded with olives. I was on my lunch break and was on a time constraint so instead of complaining/sending it back I picked each little olive out of it. Also, the waitress asked if I wanted dressing for my salad (which was $11.49) and I told her what kind I wanted. We got our bill and were charged an additional 50 cents for the dressing. Who charges extra for dressing on a damn salad?! The salad tasted okay, but I could've made it at home for a family of 4 for about the price I paid. I think overall the prices are crazy high for Applebees-type quality food. We paid $5 for 2 iced teas. All of the salads are around $12. The 'lunch special' cheeseburger for $7 is literally smaller than a McDonald's quarter pounder. The 'Big BLT' was pathetically small. Skip this place. Or if you want crappy service and mediocre food, go to Applebees or another chain and save some money. All of the other Legends locations get poor to mediocre reviews on Yelp and there is a reason why.

My Wife was out of town and I don't feel like cooking and the Twins are playing the Tigers...Solution: Legends Bar & Grill! I sat at the bar and was promptly greeted by the bartender. "What can I get you to drink?" I answered, "Backpocket Slingshot please!" Legends has a decent tap selection with a few local favorites (Slingshot is one of those). I scanned the dinner menu and decided on the Monte Carlo (their version of a mushroom and Swiss burger). As the Twins were down 6-2 in the fourth my food arrived to cheer me up. The burger was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The bun was fresh and the topping were to my liking. The fries were crisp and tasted great. The portion size was exactly enough for me. Terrific bar food and exactly what is was wanting. (True rating is probably more of a 3.5) Even though the Twins lost 10-6, the night wasn't a complete lose because of the service and food at Legends!

We took my 7U baseball team in for dinner this past a few weeks ago, on Friday 8/7/2015. We had their semi private room along with four other tables. We have our team of 11 seven year old boys fresh off a victory and around 20 adults. Greats kids and fun parents who like to drink so as a team we spend at least $1,000 everytime we go out together. Great night until whom I believe was a teenage member of the waitstaff displayed disturbing behavior. Our waitresses name is Jenn Franks, bright blue hair and piercings all over. She's terrible! She yelled at a couple of seven year olds, literally yelled at them then was extremely rude to the adults. She was obviously having a bad night. I called you out and asked if she was okay, she just nodded her head without making eye contact. I spoke with the manager who was very nice and she told me she had already spoke with Jenn Franks about her poor attitude and her behavior was unacceptable. We're more than a baseball team, we have high character, we are respectful we're a team. Jenn Franks was the worst waitress we've ever experienced. I don't suggest Legends. Our team will NEVER eat at any Legends again.

The food was good and came surprisingly fast. But it was early and there were few others eating at the time. The place was filthy! I took a picture of the crud on the booth seat and the smashed fries on the floor. The floor throughout the place was bad. The bathroom was also filthy. The sink area was disgusting and water spots went up a foot on the mirror. I wrote "I am filthy" in the dust on the paper towel dispenser. Since there were so few people, they could have spent quite a bit of time cleaning. This place is not well managed. There are TV's everywhere. Without those, the place has little atmosphere. The hostess was rude. The waiter was very good and attentive. I wouldn't go to this place again. There are a lot of alternatives in the area and it's not worth a second visit.

I really like this place! It's a great place to watch a game and their food/service is great too! I would definitely recommend their pacific pasta alfredo. I get that every time I go to Legend's and I absolutely love it. I have also had their french dip, which is pretty good. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a chill evening watching some sports with good food and good service.

I love Legends if I have to go to a sports bar. I dislike Champs and most other sports bars in town. I have always had good food and I love their seasoned waffle fries. They have the best ranch dressing in town! However, I do have to say that my husband does not like their food; he thinks it's basic bar food. And while that's true...I think in terms of bar food this place beats out the rest! Their lettuce is always fresh, their sandwiches are plentiful, and their endless waffle fries are great dipped in their homemade ranch dressing. I'm a fan and it's a great place to watch games at; they have about 50 flat screens!

It seems that every town has a place called Legends. In the Des Moines area, there are several. I have avoided this place due to an incident that happened a few years ago, but I had a coupon so I thought I'd give it a go. It was awful. The buffalo chicken wrap was soggy, contained no blue cheese or ranch sauce (that costs extra), and had spring salad mix instead of iceberg which doesn't really go with the crisp greens you'd expect with buffalo chicken. The "Legends" fries (simply waffle cut fries) were undercooked. Gross. I will probably never go there again based on the food I had today.

I really like the ambience. We came to watch the hawkeyes play basketball and have some dinner. TVs everywhere!

Personally I like Legends and this location beats Chaamps at Jordan Creek. The service is fast and they always have drink specials. I love the Taco Salads and for a chain sports bar they do a great job.

I've been to all Legend's locations, and don't find the food to be all that great. It's fine, it's just not creative and really any item is something the average family could make at home themselves. However, the menu items are all pretty standard/boring sandwiches, salads and entrees so I understand why people go there--everyone can find something they can eat and watch the televisions that cover every inch of the establishment while doing so. My husband and I go for the same reason we suspect everyone else goes--they serve food and usually have an open table when you just plain need something to eat and it's close by. However, the service here is frustratingly bad. Although we've been here a number of times, I cannot remember a time we've had good service. Two times ago I ordered the breaded tenderloin. I was served the grilled tenderloin and agreed to eat it because the rest of the group was served their meals. I received no apologies for getting the wrong meal. Last time we went there the husband and I ordered the exact same sandwich and subbed a side salad for the standard fries. We both received our salads before the sandwich. The server then brought out one plate with a sandwich and fries and left. We assumed the second meal was on it's way. It wasn't. The server only ordered one meal. My husband had to watch me eat my meal while waiting for his. There was clearly no rush put on his order to fix the mistake. When it was finally brought to him, it, too had fries. When the bill came, we were not given any sort of discount for the terrible mistake. Additionally, the server charged us for both the salads and fries, despite our request to sub one for the other. We would have complained, but there appeared no one to complain to. This seems to be the Legend's reputation for bad service, so really wish this would either a) change or b) people stop putting up with it so that a good restaurant that properly trains their employees would take it's place.
