Great place to eat. Had the chicken lasagna one night and smoked prime rib tonight. Nice find while looking for a place to eat while in town from Seattle. Two words, Corn Chowder. You have to have it when you eat there.

Great food! Beautiful surroundings! It's the best place in waverly! Reservations are recommended for the weekends but Waterstreet grill welcomes any and all walk-ins and does their best to accommodate them!

It's disappointing to see negative reviews about Waterstreet Grill here on Yelp because my experience has been the opposite of what the other reviewers have experienced. I have only lived in Waverly for 2 years, but I've been to Waterstreet about 6 times. Each time my food has been amazing! Staff has always been positive and happy to serve. Environment has always been comfortable. I moved from Kansas City where I enjoyed some great restaurants, and Waterstreet Grill is just as good in my non-expert humble opinion.

Food was really good but everything else was terrible. The place must have been understaffed because our waitress was working her but off and didn't have much time for us. Got there at 7:00 and didn't get our food till 8:00. Probably wont go back.

Although you need a reservation, have always had a fine meal and good time eating here. Glad we have another option in town.

Dinner with friends from twin cities. We were all impressed. Excellent service from our waitress. Salmon, pork rib and steak all nicely cooked and presented.

I have heard a lot of great things about this restaurant so I was definitely looking forward to trying it out, especially since Waverly is in dire need of non-chain, non-pizza places! First thing worth mentioning is the Water Street Grill is by reservation only. Personally I feel this is a bit pretentious, but we had no issue making a reservation for a Friday night at the time we wanted. The menu did not strike me as anything noteworthy. In fact I had a hard time finding something that actually sounded good to me. There was always a little something that sounded strange in the description where I second guessed if the outcome would actually be something tasty. We ended up ordering the sausage stuffed button mushrooms for an appetizer and they were good. Not the best I've ever tasted but good. The meal comes with a dinner salad. There were a good number of choices for dressing and the greens were fresh. I ending up ordering the pork tenderloin with cinnamon apples medium to medium well to avoid it being overcooked. It still came out well done and dry. I sampled each of my parent's meals as well; Dad ordered a spicy pasta. I love spicy food but I would not have been able to finish this dish. It was painfully spicy, but with no complex flavor to make it actually taste like anything other than pure heat. My mom ordered ribeye and it was good, she really enjoyed it. I wish they would have another steak offering besides filet (too $$$), ribeye (too fatty) or steak tips (which I don't really count as a steak option...) A sirloin would be a nice addition to the menu. They do have some good side choices, the spiced sweet potatoes were very good as were the crock pot potatoes. There was no drink menu, so I had an appletini to drink which they were featuring that night, and it was actually very good. Besides the salad and the crock pot potatoes, it was probably the best thing about the meal there. It wasn't overly sweet and had just a bit of sourness to it. The two big issues I had with this place was the service and the acoustics. Our server was just trying way too hard to be fancy and came off as snide. Huge turn off. Just be nice! She also seemed to be acting a wee bit brash and frantic, which for being one of the nicest restaurants in town, modestly composed service is sort of a requirement. The acoustics were terrible. We could hear every little thing that anyone said, so that combined with the music made it hard for us to carry on a conversation or for the sever to hear anything we said. Friendlier service would have made a HUGE improvement on our visit but I would try this place again.
