Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Quick service. Nicely decorated. Theme music. Attentive staff and good food at decent prices. Would come back again if in the area.

Ok, since I moved to Iowa from Washington DC the one thing that I noticed was a lack of quality Italian Restaurants. I was excited when Napolis was opening in Spencer, so I made it a point to show up on opening night. There was no wait, but it was a little busy. The first thing that I noticed was the waitresses lack of knowledge of the menu. It was the first night and she appeared to be a first time waitress so I let it go that she had no idea what Calamari was or Tiramisu for that matter (more on that later). Looking at the menu, I noticed the high prices for a majority of the dishes (for Iowa). This (in a way) I liked because I assumed that my Seafood combo pasta dish (16.00) would be top notch.... I ordered the Calamari (6.95) as my appetizer and the waitress needed me to point it out on the menu so she could spell it. When the Calamari arrived she dropped 4-5 pieces on the floor and apologized but made no offer to replace those that dropped. I said nothing, but a top restaurant would replace them without so much as a gripe. My girlfriend and her daughter ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken (12.00). When their dishes arrived they had uneven portions on their plates and my Seafood combo was horrid with overcooked scallops and shrimp. All of the sauces were pretty good but the quality of the food just wasnt that good. While eating my food I observed an employee loading pre cooked pasta from a box sitting on the floor to a bowl with his bare hands. I've been in the restaurant business and although I dont find that all unusual... doing it from the floor with bare hands is a no no, especially in full sight of the customers. Waitress was terrible about refills and really clueless. I ordered Tiramisu for dessert and again she had no idea where it was. I showed her and she went back to the back 10 minutes later she came back and asked how everything was going (as if to give us a check). I said ok and inquired about the Tiramisu. She said she would check on it and just left. 10 minutes later (20 min since I ordered dessert) I had to flag her down again and asked where my dessert was and she replied "I'm not sure". I then said " It's frozen, isn't it?" She then replied "yes, I'm sorry". Furious at that point, I just asked for the check which took another 10 minutes. I payed and left. I had friends go yesterday and they said that they had a similiar experience. I must say that this was the worst Italian Restaurant that I have ever stepped in (and thats saying a lot). Just a little advice if you are headed to Spencer, cross that bridge and go to La Chiesa across the bridge. The extra cost is well worth it!

Not a five star rating at all. My entree, the seafood combo, was 4 stars but the salad was out of a bag, simply lettuce and olives, and the desert was not homemade but more likely store bought.

Enjoyed our lunch. Would definitely eat here again. Small town atmosphere with small town prices. Big portions.

Service was good, food arrived quickly, and prices were very reasonable. I thought the Alfredo was delicious and would visit again if I am ever in the area.

I was pleasantly surprised. Better quality than I expected. Everything we had was awesome. Update: Met the owner today. DEFINITELY ITALIAN.

Good food, but for Italian I felt it was a little lacking. Too much cream and butter in their sauce, rolls were flavorless and hard and served sans butter, olive oil or balsamic. I'm picky about my chicken and each time I ordered a dish with chicken I was dissatisfied with the quality of chicken- had some gristle and hard pieces in it. Yuck. Service was great- which is why I am giving 3 stars.

This establishment has definately taken a turn for the worse. The food has become stale and seen to be straight from a box. Sadly I seem to think it's days are numbered. The service is now pitiful at best. Sad sad sad

Fair Italian food, but nothing very special. I'm not sure how an Italian restaurant makes it long-term with these three issues: - No bar service at all. No wine at an Italian restaurant?? I'm surprised they wouldn't at least have license to allow carry-in of wine with corkage fee. - Blah bread. Rolls served taste like the kind from freezer section of grocery store. - Salad offered. Iceberg salad mix with just a few boring dressing offerings. No romaine Caesar salad offering with Italian food? :( OK food and nice service...but wouldn't go back if in town again.

Pretty good Italian food, but not great. The baked sausage, peppers, cheese and pasta was good and I finished it all. Unfortunately, there was too much sauce and it unbalanced the the dish. The spiral dinner buns had good flavor, but not as good as they looked. This restaurant could easily be a 4 star with a few improvements. I would rate it closer to 3.5, if it was allowed.

Great food and even better prices but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Hostess almost is borderline hostile with a nasty tone in her voice. The sever was new and needs some serious polishing. Will I go back, def for the food not for its lackluster service.

Tried their alfrado and garlic bread. Both were very good and had a fair amount of leftovers for lunch the next day. Atmosphere was nice. While there were a lot of other people eating at their tables it was not overly crowded and the waitstaff was friendly and quick to get food out. I would eat here again and would suggest it to others in the area who are looking for Italian.
