Just traveling thru and stopped for a bite. First off we waited for about 45 minutes before anyone waited on us and rhen we waited even longer for our food. The chili my husband ordered was terrible and the table in back of us wasnt cleared off the whole time we were there

Sometimes there's reason to go with chain restaurants when you try a local place and it's this bad. Flies everywhere, very expensive for the terrible food. My boyfriend ordered the turkey melt, literally two small pieces of processed turkey lunch meat on two pieces of Wonderbread style bread....for $8. My Dijon Chicken was so bitter I couldn't even eat it, and I normally love Dijon mustard, and that was $11. We would have had more and better food cheaper going to Subway, and that's just sad.

I think things have turned around at Family Table since a lot of these reviews were written. I was expecting the worst when I walked in, but we had a pretty solid breakfast. The place was definitely clean and bright and while the service was a bit gruff, the food came out quickly and had very large portions! The hashbrowns were the clear winner and came mixed with a hearty portion of all sorts of veggies! I ordered the biscuits and gravy and got the full order. Huge! I took 2 whole biscuits home with me. The eggs were decent and when you order coffee they even provide your own kraft on the table for refills which is nice. Nothing out of this world, but definitely a solid breakfast stop on I-35. Will definitely come here again.. and trying the cinnamon roll next time!

If you love a hearty breakfast, this is the place to stop and it is right off I-35. Breakfast is the only meal I have eaten here but every time we stop here the service is great, the food is satisfying, and the prices are fair. I love the fun and feisty wait staff. They treat you like family. Don't go expecting elegant dining. The feel is reminiscent of an old fashioned Mom and Pop truck stop that fed you well. It will continue to be a stop for us as we travel through! It

By far the best place to get breakfast in Osceola! The amount of food you get for the price is unbelievable. I have never left there hungry! In fact, 9 out of 10 times I leave with a doggie bag! The food is better than home made.

Don't be fooled by granny in the kitchen and the number of Buicks or pickup trucks in the parking lot. This place wreaks, was dirty and featured extremely poor service. Keep driving up or down I-35, but don't bother stopping here. The only thing granny didn't screw up was the toast. Consider a vending machine before eating here.

Read reviews & still came in. Place is clean. Service was great. Efficient, friendly and helpful. Huge servings does not describe. Pancake covered large plate. And was very good. Bacon cooked perfectly. Definitely a new breakfast place for us.

Vile, filthy surroundings, and cooking with the bare minimum in mind. Bacon tasted like old grease; pancake batter was too old, making the giant pancake taste chewy and flavorless; scrambled eggs were stingy, flat like a deflated balloon and completely unseasoned; frozen hash browns were soggy in the middle. Other reviewers seem fooled by the decor into thinking the lazy cook in the back is a sweet grandma chef. Don't believe it!

"Cookin' so good yule think we stole your mother!" - sign painted on an interior wall of the Family Table. +4 Stars: On a recent trip for breakfast I had a cup of coffee, half order of biscuits and gravy, two scrambled eggs with crispy bacon. The coffee was pretty good for foodservice grade java. Generous serving sizes for the food for the price. A tasty small town breakfast! -1 Star: There's an ice cream machine in a corner that's really LOUD. It's hard to have a conversation over the roaring grind. Doesn't being able to hear people speak trump the need for ice cream? We were soooo kewl: In high school my friends and I used to eat breakfast here and take shots of Half & Half creamers. ***Un-chain and support local businesses***

"Really good food and service. Had the burger and onion rings. Both The onion rings and burger were hand made and were very good. Hard to find a good burger. Saw other food come out looking just as tasty. Homemade desserts looked wonderful. Just ran out of room!"

A quick hop off of i-35 at Osceola Ia, will put you in view of Nana Greer's Family Table. Anything that looks like it is run by an old lady, to me , means good cooking....so of course, I had to stop. The parking lot was packed..that is also a good sign.No truckers, but plenty of Buicks.....If the old people eat here I am still in the right place. Menu consisted of a large array of breakfast items, sandwiches, and the usual diner dinner entrees, (open faced roast beef, chicken fried steaks, chicken) Being on the road with at least another hour of driving to go, Breakfast was not an option, it puts me to sleep) Menu said the burgers were charbroiled, not fried....and yes they were had a good flavor. The most memorable thing here was the cinnamon roll. It says on the list they are a meal in themselves. I asked the waitress how big they really were, and she held out her hands with a measurement. Not so big, I thought, ordering one. When it came out 12 inches square and 4 inches high.. It wouldn't even fit in the "to go box" that she brought with us. we only ate about a fourth of it. Generous in the cinnamon and icing departments...Now the best thing $4.99! It ended up feeding four people in the next 24 hrs and ended up being breakfast treats for three dogs. they loved it too.

Food came out fast and hot. If you're really, really hungry I would recommed the Supreme Hashbrowns. The food is reasonably priced. Sunday for lunch they have what looked to be a buffet cooked by grandma.

Salad bar was very good. Also got cheese burger with homemade onion rings. Burger was good. Onion rings kinda blah. Person with me got roast & mashed potatoes. He said it was good. They brought out a just made strawberry pie & we had to have a piece. It was delicious. Atmosphere was great. Waitress was wonderful. Good place to eat. Enjoyed stopping.
