Not the best cupcakes, kinda dry and lacking flavor. Typical set up here if you frequent cupcake shops. Has the looks of a nice bakery, but falls short on the baking of the product. You will have your typical unique choices, but the flavor is average.

We frequent this bakery for the cupcakes and the ice cream, both of which are excellent! The building is cute and they have space to eat your sweet treats inside or outside. The cupcake flavor selection has some standard favorites plus something new to try. They have fillings that kick the flavor combinations up a notch over their competitors. Also with the options of various sized cupcakes it is easy to order for events. We used JJ's for our wedding and couldn't have been happier!

These cupcakes were horrible. Tried them twice and both times the cupcakes were so dry they crumbled apart. We ordered filled supcakes and they had no filling. The frosting was only slightly sweet and not very good. On the other hand, the ice cream is quite tasty.

I had a chocolate some thing cupcake and it was fine. just like a normal cupcake nothing to write home about. My husband had some oatmeal cream cookie one. the cake part was very dry not sure on the freshness of his we went on a sat late afternoon. Not sure we will be going back would love to support a small local business.

I tried JJ's cupcakes once. They were stored in a cold case and seemed to be in there for a long time. They were very dry when I got them home. I had purchased six. We tried one each (the two of us) and threw the rest in the garbage. Maybe we got an old batch, but they shouldn't be selling old, cold, dried out cupcakes, especially for what they charge. Go to Molly's. The Cupcakes are 100-fold better, at least. I don't think JJ's will be around to compete now that Molly's has a North Liberty location. Sorry, but I'll never return to JJ's.

While maple bacon cupcakes are indeed Boss, and the experience at J&J's was solid, the cupcakes left a little to be desired vs the other cupcake places in the surrounding areas. They've got a great selection of cupcakes - roughly 20 varieties with plenty of flavors that people have actually thought about. The true brilliance here are the two sizes of cupcakes with matching prices. We grabbed a couple minis for something like $1.25 a piece and a bigs were $2.50. Much more for you money as compared to the other spots in town. With all this said, we were left wanting a bit with the cupcakes. While the flavors were great, the cupcakes were a little on the dry side and whilst paying $2 and change for a small dessert, the feelings at our house are that the cakes must be moist! Despite the mildly dry cupcakes, the combination of a couple minis with a side of ice cream from Isaac's (which shares the room), made for a most delightful afternoon. We'll be back to sample again and it's certainly a step up from fast food drive thru dessert. If you're from north liberty or trend that direction, it's definitely worth checking out!

Love the cupcakes! So many flavors to choose from! Most have a pudding filling. 81 different flavors! And I like the fact that she lives right in North Liberty! I like keeping my business local. Oh! And her cakes are to die for!

Would have gave this place a one star if the creamery section was bad. I'll just say this, the cupcakes suck. They taste like whoever made them put a little bit too much butter in the frosting and cake. They cupcake presentation is really amazing, I just wish I could say the same about the taste. My family bought four cupcakes. I can't remember the kinds but I remember the one we hated the most was either a vanilla or cake batter flavored one. Our whole family couldn't believe how bad these cupcakes were. Like I said previously, it tasted of pure butter. They were also pretty dry like they've been sitting out for awhile. On the creamery side, it was delicious. Very unique flavors, and a wide range. There were flavors such as blueberry cheesecake, cake batter, and my favorite, monster mash (m&ms and some other yummy candies mixed in). I'm not sure, but I don't think there's really a topping bar for sprinkles or other fun, but if they installed one inside the shoppe it would make it extra cool. The interior is very cute and colorful. JJ's needs to watch out for Molly's cupcakes, they're extremely delicious, unique, and hip, and joint with a much healthier restaurant that serves frozen yogurt (and a topping bar!). If you want good cupcakes, go to Molly's! I don't want to seem like a Debbie downer, but I won't be surprised seeing this place losing their business to Molly's in the future.

What a great combination - good ice cream and cupcakes!! I liked the ice cream better than the cupcakes but it was pretty close. Frosting was a bit dense for me but everyone tends to have their own idea of what a frosting should be like. We found there to be about 10 varieties of cupcakes available and three of them also had mini's available. The prices were decent, $1.25 for the mini's and $2.50 for the large cupcakes. Located in a fun little town with a nice pedestrian path. There are several cupcakeries in the area so you can make a day of checking them all out and comparing!

Wonderful! This is my favorite place to go for desert!. Great variety and unique flavors and the owners are always happy to engage on conversation, which is nice. Best cupcakes in the area hands down!

I REALLY wanted to like the cupcakes here since it's close to home and a local business. They look pretty but they were awful. I'm the type of person that will eat just about anything and I had to throw both of them away after only a couple of bites. They are kept in a cooler so they aren't soft and they are very dry, they had very little flavor, and the frosting didn't taste like anything. The ice cream is great, but I will drive 15 minutes out of my way from now on if I want a good cupcake.

This place has wonderful cupcakes, but they also have a good selection of really high-quality ice cream that they dish out in large servings at a very reasonable price. Nice place for a Sunday afternoon drive with a treat along the way.
