I enjoy going to Eggys. In the past the service had been slow. But not lastnight. We were eating before a wrestling meet and appreciated the fast service. We were concerned about that cause the parking lot was jammed packed. Come to find out there was a party upstairs. Food was excellent. .. just hope the next time the clam chowder will be available.

Went to Eggys on 965 for lunch, last Sunday. Was surprised after the great meals and service that I have gotten there, that there weren't more people tbere. The food we excellent a doll the wit service was attentive and prompt. If you want a good meal, may I suggest the Meatloaf dinner and the Bleu Cheese salad dressing. Someone in my party said this was the best Bleu Cheese dressing she had ever eaten. plan on going again, soon.

This place is now called Bobby's and we thought we'd check it out. Needless to say, I won't ever be back. The hostess that seated was could have cared less that we were there. She basically pointed to a booth and said "You can have that one". Later, when she brought us our silverware, she all but threw it on the table. She was also wearing sweats...if you want to make a good first impression, at least pretend to care about your job and appearance. We had some questions about the menu, and the waitress couldn't really tell us what cottage fries were. Turns out that they are mandolin sliced fries with regular fries mixed in. We ordered a burger with fries and the french dip with garlic mashed potatoes. My partner said that the burger was "Decent", but the french dip was really dry. The potatoes tasted like instant potatoes and were also dry, without the slightest hint of garlic in them. I ordered a soda, but asked for water because it tasted really weird. Even after the waitress checked the carbonation and brought me a second one, it still just tasted off which leads me to think that their lines need to be cleaned. Horrible service and "meh" food means I won't be back ever.

Now Bobby's live and it's really gone downhill. My margarita was very sour. Not a good mix at all. The 'home made' salsa was Pace picante sauce. The famous fried chicken was flavorless and bland. Obviously a reason the place was almost empty on a Saturday night. New ownership and menu is needed. Won't be back

Awful service!!! The food was ok, but definitely not worth the wait or the rudeness of the staff. We waited forever to order and then the order was wrong and we waited even longer for the correct sandwich. The waitress even handed the mixed up sandwich that we had touched to another customer. That is disgusting!!!!

I was confused at the atmosphere when I first entered the building. I'm hearing J's on my feet with explicit language mashed with other dance hits while staring at a bar full of trucker-like individuals. The live DJ was waving his arm into the air like a school kid trying to gain the attention of a teacher. Wasn't a biggest fan. However, stay for $5 powerful margaritas, delicious appetizers, and good service.

Ive been here 4 times and the 4th time disappointed I think it might be different management. The food quality changed. I always try the prime Rib Sandwich but this last time they flat grilled the steak which made it taste bad. My GF gets the Chicken Burrito and she loves it. It's also hudge and tastes great.

Don't waste your time with this place... Mediocre food, poor management, dirty front of the house (I don't even want to think about the kitchen judging by the front of the house), this to relates to poor management again, and horrible customer service which goes back to the aforementioned poor management. Go to Reds. It's worth the wait no matter how long it is.

For the longest time I've heard about Eggy's and something in the name dissuaded us from checking it out, then, on a fateful evening in March when Red's was too busy, we come over with a group and things will never be the same. We found out that Thursday night is trivia night, and not like grandmas house trivia night, like straight up which fingernail grows fastest trivia night! Great for groups old and young w/ tons of seating and some lovely gents running the festivities. Every night here they have some sort of special ranging from food to percentages off the bill for having a lady present - check. The beer selection is not overly impressive, but does the job. They've started carrying a number of Iowa brews which is increasingly becoming a plus. The food here is where we were blown away. Standard bar/pub fare, but this action is seriously good! We shared a Castro - the Eggy version of a Cuban sandwich - this beast was amazing. We added an egg on top for a $1 and it only heightened the experience. The wraps were grazed upon by our friends and no complaints were heard. A really solid addition was the small silver dollar sized fries. Small enough to hold, but never large enough to require two bites if you don't want them to - In America we like choices - A+ fries! The bar sits in the middle of the place and there are plentiful large booths that accomodate groups for up to 8 or 10 depending on how close you want to sit! Tons of TVs for those of us who want to watch a sitcom, college basketball or the women's NCAA 3 point competition (these were the choices when we went). I'm psyched we found this place! Really good food, good beverages and some great trivia. A solid change from the ordinary!

Always have a good time when we go to Eggy's. The food is fantastic and the staff is great. There has been some other bars open up in the area that has brought some serious competition so I think Eggys really need to revisit and creat some seriously attractive drink specials to avoid losing the crowds to these other new bars.

Came in with some co-workers and a local client for a lunch break. This restaurant is large! Lots of open area so if you are the claustrophobic type, this is your place. Large booths. Large portions of food! Good, personal service. Good variety in the menu. What else would one order while in North Liberty? A taco salad of course. Yeah, I know, it was crazy, but darn, it was a really good meal. Four stars because although I do not know how the other restaurants in this area compare, I can tell you, this place was pretty good!

typical bar food, after going a few times i avoid this place because of the people it attracts very loud some what ghetto, seems to be the hang out for the sketchy used car salesguy type place.

Always a good place to meet friends. The food is "bar food", but delicious. It can be loud on evenings when they crank the music, but maybe I am just getting old.

Oh where to start. The one saving grace, is it's a decent bar. Some good beer specials, but after you order your first round, be prepared to wait for a long while for the wait staff to come get the order for round 2. Now onto the service, we had a decent group of 10, there where some parties of 12+ in the building so my group was on the smaller side of things comparatively speaking. First off it took the waitress a good 10 minutes to get to our table for the initial drink order, no water was taken or offered, which is criminal, I had a micro brew beer which was very good, and sadly the ONLY good thing about the night. According to the menu, sandwiches came with, mashed potatoes, soup, salad, rice, or fries; however 9 out of 10 of us ordered sandwiches and none of us where given the option of which sides we would like. I had to pull teeth with the waitress to ask about soups to go with my sandwich, it would have been easier to go straight to the kitchen to place my order and maybe show them how to cook. Onto the actual food, the fries were potato rounds semi crinkle cut, appeared to be lightly breaded and were not salted when the came out of the frier. Over all decent fry but there are places that have much better, especially in the same price range as Eggy's. I ordered a Reuben, which is a standard that I hold places such as this to, the Reuben is a work of sandwich art, when done right this mecca of deliciousness is a pillar that will bring customers back again and again. When done like Eggy's does it, it's akin to spraying your customers in the face with mace and asking them to pay you for it. Now a proper and great way to do a Reuben is toasted non soggy bread, with cheese in between the bread and the dressing, sauerkraut, and corned beef. The top half of my sandwich was great crisp rye bread, nicely toasted and over all very well done, but then being a professional chef that I am, I started looking at the sandwich, and realized that sitting on my plate was a monstrosity of food that should have no way been served to the general public. The bottom piece of bread was soggy, non toasted, the corned beef was burnt on the edge, the sauerkraut was cold, there was somewhere hidden in there, an amount of thousand island that was like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Whoever composed the sandwich, had 2/3rds of the sauerkraut on one half of the sandwich, and 2/3rds of the burnt corned beef on the other half, I couldn't even make it through half of the sandwich. Onto the soup, I got clam chowder, lets face it I'm a east coast guy and I love a good clam chowder, but to be honest, it was corn chowder from a powdered mix with some clams thrown in, there was no seasoning to this dish, no flavor a white creamy mess of glop served in a bowl. Now onto my partner in crimes sandwich, a buffalo chicken sandwich, sounds tasty right, so we thought!!! Lets be honest, one and a half chicken strips, put into a hoagie bun, covered in buffalo sauce and cheese, is not a sandwich. It had three times the amount of bread to chicken, the sauce made picking up the hoagie roll neigh impossible, and overall it could have been great, if the staff actually had pride in their work, but from the terrible food at the table, they gave up a long time ago. The price of the food is atrocious for what you get here, which I was expecting an Applebee's type of menu / food quality, which is middle of the pack and at least edible, what we where served was a monster that Dr. Frankenstein would be scared if he saw. At the end of the meal, checks came and I expected a gratuity to be added to the bill for a large party, and the industry standard is 18%. Fine dining restaurants ran by chefs in New York have 18%, Eggy's was 20%. The horrible service and food doesn't elicit a tip, let alone 20%! Want to watch a game and drink beer, go here. Want decent quality food, avoid this place at all costs. This is a bar, not a restaurant, and the quality of the meal and the wait staff make that very evident from the beginning.

Wow... I have to say I'm sorry that I have to give this place even the one star. We've been to this place before & it's always been passable. The service is little more than lackluster & the food is just okay most of the time but we made our last visit to Eggys tonite I'm afraid. We watched the owner of the place, who was about half sh!tfaced, attack a young woman at the bar... seriously. Grabbed her by the arm and yanked her off of a barstool and was telling her to get out. At one point he had her by the back of the neck! She should have called the police really... i feel bad that i didnt call them myself. we didnt hang around to find out if they came or not. The whole place was in shock! No one knew why he wanted her to leave; she was just sitting there with some friends. We won't be back to a place like this and neither will our friends. And if anyone asks me where's a good place to eat & have some drinks at in the Iowa City area, this place wouldn't even get a mention. I've NEVER seen a place that treated customers with such brutality and then subjected the other customers to such a display of pure unmitigated unprofessional behavior. There are a whole lot of fantastic places in the Iowa city area... stay away from this one unless you want to be attacked by the drunk owner for no reason at all!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!

Eggy's has always been a great place to take someone on a date, watch a game with a friend, sing karaoke or celebrate just about anything! They have an expanded menu over other restaurants in town and the bar is right in the middle! The service is good as long as it isn't busy otherwise it takes a long time for service. They have an upstairs that sports a pool table and dart board. The bar scene is great for celebrations but not so great for really big sporting events. I have found that most TVs are placed behind the bar pillars and if the game you are watching is behind one....you won't get to see it. However, this is a restaurant and any bar that serves a ham and cheese sandwich on Texas toast is WORTH a great review! Hopefully it stays on the menu...
