Good place to watch a game or have a drink. Don't be in a hurry (service is slow) and don't come with a group (service is slow). Skip the food all together. Place should just focus on bar food and quit trying to get cute as a restaurant. The "Bbq" on the menu is all inedible and straight from the microwave.

Love the remodel! We had an amazing waitress, a lot of great food choices and she was great at recommending items. Everyone ordered something different and loved it. We will be back

Atmosphere, drinks, and appetizers were all great and earn Louie's some stars. Our dining experience went down from there. And it really boils down to service. Our server missed one opportunity after another to turn things around. The person dining with me always eats tenderloins grilled and ordered it so. The server delivered the sandwich breaded and fried. When we pointed out that we had asked for a grilled tenderloin, the server simply said, "That's not what I heard." No apology. No offer to exchange it and make it right. When the server came back to check on us some time later, we pointed out that the breaded tenderloin tasted like fish. Cod was the special that night so perhaps they used the same fryer? Again, no apology. No offer to make it right. Just, "oh. THAT's too bad!" (Said in a cheery 'gosh darn it' tone) We also sat and waited, clearly done with our meals and giving every possible indication we wanted to leave, while our server carried on a casual conversation with the table next to us. Don't get me wrong. The server was sweet, just.... Oblivious. We may go back the next time we are in Marion, but probably just for drinks and apps. And we'll avoid her section.

This is my new spot to drink. I haven't had the food, so I can't attest to whether it's any good or not, but I mean to sometime. They make their drinks well, and their staff is friendly and attentive. It's a great spot to just hang out and talk with friends over a few drinks. You don't have to shout to be heard, and your ears aren't accosted by american idol wannabes singing bad karaoke. I think they did a great job setting up the place. You can sit around the bar which is in the center, and on either side theirs a separate more restaurant style seating. They have plenty of comfy spots to spread out.

Well when it comes to the marion bar scene there isn't much to choose from but Louie's is a good place to sit and watch a game. Stopped in early afternoon place wasn't to busy but I must say its a bit confusing when you walk in. Was not greeted and wasn't sure if we were to seat ourselves or be seated so after a minute or two of standing at the entrance wandering around we were greeted and seated service was slow so if your in a hurry may not be the best place to go. Maybe it was an off day? There are plenty of choices on the menu but I wasn't overly impressed with the food. It was so so. I actually enjoyed my appetizer more than my main dish. The bbq and sandwiches are nothing special but still good. The sampler was plentiful and a good value. Great for splitting with someone for the after beer munchies! But the entrées seem to be priced just a tad bit high. I will return again but will be sticking with the apps and brew!

Let me start off by saying I visited Louie's less than a week prior to today's visit and was so impressed I found myself there again in the same week. The burger was delicious and the server on that day was excellent. I liked the food so much I recommended Louie's when my group and I were indecisive on where to go for supper. Upon arrival tonight, the server took our drink orders and did not return with any of the three glasses of water we ordered for about 20 minutes. At that time we ordered an appetizer and our food. We did not see the waitress again until about 45 minutes later when our food arrived, including the appetizer that was put on our table after our burgers. She walked away from the table so quickly that we could not even remind her that she had yet to bring us any silverware. Once she finally came back, we asked for silverware so we could eat. The poor girl would hear one thing we needed to run and get it. Unfortunately she didn't stick around long enough to know that there were other things that we needed as far as drink refills and extra napkins etc. I really would like to have saved her a few trips since I know she was very busy. All four of us ordered Louie's stuffed burgers. The Juicy Louie was on a three of our plates. We all decided to cut them as they are large burgers. And noticed that the meat around the center of the burger was completely raw and cold (unfortunately not until after we had all dug in). I'm all for a little pink in the center of a burger, but I do not enjoy blood running from my burger when I cut into it. We all ate the parts that we could since we knew we wouldn't see our server for quite some time and we were hungry. When she finally did come back to the table she asked "how is everything? "We told her that our burgers were raw in the center and showed her the raw meat we had picked out of the burgers. She evidently didn't know how to correct that or what to say, so she said nothing and then asked us "is there anything I can get you?" We asked for the bill and to our surprise, it was brought to us with everything we had ordered on it including the three raw hamburgers. The waitress was asked if any money was taken off due to the inedible food. She stated the manager wouldn't let her take any money off. We asked if the manager would be able to speak with us about this. Eventually the manager came to the table and stood staring at us and tell we said hello to her. No introduction, nothing. We showed her the raw meat from the burgers and she said I'm sorry about that picked up the bill and walked away from the table. Nothing else was said. In the end of the three burgers were taken off of our bill. I was so disappointed to have such a good experience less than a week ago and have another experience so polar opposite. Very disappointed and will NOT be going back.

A year ago I would have given this a higher rating, but have been thoroughly disappointed as of late. Slow service, and poorly made drinks accompanied by greasy bar food seem to have taken over where once craft, and care made this place shine. My husband left feeling that we should have stopped at Subway for dinner instead.

I love the food here. Truly the best breaded tenderloin in town. Very good bar food, but these people need to learn how to run a restaurant. Service is terrible. They are slow at the bar. Waitress has no idea what to do or when to do it.

I had read the recent reviews and still thought to myself, "self, let's try it." Now, I have a friend who swears by the tenderloin and if I was rating just the tenderloin I would have given Louie's a solid 4.5 (Only my mama's tenderloins score a 5). But, this is rating the whole shebang. So we went on Saturday night around 8pm and the lot was packed. Found a spot and headed on in. Only because of the a previous review we sat ourselves. Decor: Bar and Grill. Lots of tv's set to sporting events. You expected something else? Liked the higher back booths as they gave some privacy. Comfy and booth was clean. Beer menu a little sticky, but not too bad. I didn't nor did any of my friends hit the bathroom, so that is an unknown. Drinks: Impressive list of beers available and drinks. I didn't have anything to drink (shocking, but it happens occasionally). My friend ordered a beer and it wasn't what she ordered. Informed waitress who brought back a new one and told us that the other one was right, but here was a new one. Sure thing because that would have meant you made a mistake and that never happens. Food: We all ordered a different appetizer to share. Table had cheese wontons, wings and onion rings (kind of as the server messed up the order and gave friend onion rings with her burger and a side of fries) Cheese wontons: Very chewy. Had a flavor of bacon in them? Where did that come from. Presentation in the paper cone with sauce in a little side compartment made for a difficult dip. Friend much preferred those from Zeppelins. Wings: Had the sweet bourbon sauce. Yuck. The wings were cooked perfectly though and I think the sweet chili sauce from the wontons would have been a better taste on them. Also, when has ranch become the sauce to accompany wings? Wasn't blue cheese designated as the go-to dip? Onion rings: Had they been warm we might have enjoyed them more. They aren't homemade and they definitely tasted like a beer batter. As good as Hardees. Is that a compliment? This would make for a better review if we all had a different sandwich. But we all went with the breaded tenderloin. As mentioned up above. Pretty good. I appreciated the thickness of it. I want to know that there is meat between that breading and those places that brag about "biggest" tenderloins just beat the crap out of them. The bun was lightly toasted. Big thumbs up with that. I ordered mine with onion and pickle since the menu mentioned those items would be served on request. My server gave me the "it comes with it". Ok, sorry to have read the menu. My mistake for trying to cut food cost and you could have kept your mealy winter tomato slice. Prices: I thought everything seemed reasonable. Would I like it cheaper? Yes, but I also understand that the owner has to pay the bills. So those of you complaining about the cost; eat at home instead. Service: The reason I didn't go with a three star; poor service. If you are still reading at this point, you know that our waitress wasn't very good. In fact, she really needs to work on bringing more personality to the table. She was in no way upbeat and cheerful. Her demeanor would have been better off as a paid mourner at a funeral. No smile...ever. Monotone and in a very loud bar atmosphere, hard to understand. I don't think it should have to be taught to someone serving that you shouldn't stack the circular "plates" holding sandwiches. I understand that you had multiple things to carry, but my poor tenderloin was at the bottom of your triple stacking and getting smushed. Thank God it wasn't a pizza or I would have had to lick the cheese off the bottom of my friend's plate. Here's the thing. I tipped 20% for this service. Why you ask? Well, I know my friend's didn't leave very good tips (they weren't impressed with service either) and I do know how hard it is to wait tables (done it myself for several years). The problem is that I don't want her to think that she deserved it on her merit as a server. Instead, think of it as pity. Of course, pity will pay the car payment but at some point those tips will dry up if you don't up your game. All in all. I'll go back. I'll try something different. I'll have me one of those fancy mojitos. I'll look for a different server.
