Yup...reviews are right. Food and service are great. Ribeye...hard to find better. Does come seasoned so if you like plain ask for that. I loved the seasoning...some may say salty. FYI yelp app showed this more to the east...:it is right at the 4 way jct.

I have no words! ! We took a little road trip and ended up at this little gem!! The food was amazing. The staff is friendly and amazing. There might be a wait when you get here, but it is well worth it! ! There is a reason people are waiting to get in here. We had the loaded ribeye sandwich with salad and onion rings. It was all amazing! ! Great food! !

This is the second time I've been here, first time I ordered off the menu. Took a party bus of about 14 people on a Saturday night. We got lucky because it wasn't very busy (which is rare for a Saturday) they seated us immediately in the party room which has a bar, two tvs , jukebox & video games. Later on after our meal the let us play bags (or cornhole) The food was outstanding & I thought reasonable priced. The portion was large enough that I was full at the end of the meal. I had the buffalo chicken philly it came with a side, I chose fries(best I've ever had). Everyone else's food looked just as tastey. I can't wait to go back and try the prime rib! Our service was awesome & she was tipped well for it. It's a bit of a travel to get there but it is so worth it. As I said I can't wait to go back and try other things off the menu. It's a clean, fun place with outstanding food!

The moon was a brilliant crescent nestled among the stars, undimmed by city lights... theTwisted Tail is nestled in the Loess hills a ways off the beaten path, but by the looks of the parking lot, it's a well-beaten path! Hubby had the sirloin, done to perfection, great flavor. I had the prime rib sandwich, the melt-in- your- mouth tender meat draping gloriously over the bun, topped with carmelized onions, mushrooms and blue cheese. I asked for the fries extra crispy and they were more than just a vehicle for ketchup. The service was great and the ambiance appropriately country, but not corny. The price was a little more than we usually spend, but the food was better than we usually get. Try it, is worth the country drive!

Wanted to find a place between Omaha And Guthrie Center Iowa where we could meet friends for dinner. Saw this place online and decided to try it. What a pleasant surprise! The place is clean, inviting and the waitresses were so nice. The smoked prime rib was fantastic as were the Phillies. The mushroom appetizer was not your not normal little white mushrooms breaded and fried....these were larges slices of portabella mushrooms in some kind of yummy breading. Awesome! We will certainly go back.

We arrived here late on a weeknight. They had a decent crowd and the place looks nice inside. We ordered fried pickles and onion rings to start. Both were fine - typical fried fare. Next up entrees which included a ribeye, a new york strip and two burgers. My gf wanted a filet but we were told they were out of filets. Seems odd for a steak place to be out of steak. The ribeye was great - cooked perfect and very juicy. The baked potato had cooked way to long. It was basically mush. The new york was a hit and the burgers received the comment "just ok". Service was horrible. We had to wait for everything way to long for a half full restaurant. If you are hungry for a fairly priced steak this is a decent option. Unless they are out of meat that day.

Very few Resturants are open Monday nite around here, The Twisted Tail was recommended to me. First I am a Bourbon drinker, they have an outstanding selection of whiskeys. I had the RibEye Steak dinner, salad was crisp fresh tasty, the baked potato was perfectly prepared, then the RibEye was cooked just as ordered medium rare, it was tender juicy a perfect steak. I will return on my next visit to Iowa. I really enjoyed this place.

"Best small town place I have been to in a long time." Says the man who travels for a living. Very clean, never-frozen meats, fresh vegetables, comfortable atmosphere, and great service with a relaxed staff. (...Amazing people.) TRULY family operated.. I saw 3 generations for myself within a 4 ft proximity. Very kind, happy, and proud. Truly a treasure. Their work shines in their establishment and customer service. Thanks for everything. Cheers.

Great little steakhouse tucked in the hills of western iowa. Met friends there and had the mushrooms as an appetizer, smoked prime rib for entree. Others had philly sandwichs... We all really enjoyed the place and the wait staff were friendly and attentive as well!

Since we live just 10 minutes down the road from twisted tail we have been to twisted tail a lot and it has become our go to place for quick takeout. The atmosphere is pretty awesome with country decor. It is also a big biker stop as it is the only restaurant around for miles. The burgers and sandwiches are all great. The wings are ok. The ribs are awesome! Beer is served in mason jars. For being in the middle if nowhere this joint actually has some pretty big events like john Michael Montgomery and midget wrestling. They always have something going on and despite always being pretty full they always get you in quickly and service is awesome! 4 stars because there isn't really anything out if this world but it's a great and well run establishment and for the money you can't beat it.

Was told to wait half hour (no problem) flyer an hour checked on the wait and was told at least another 45 minutes. When we asked why so long Hannah yelled and exclaimed that she can give us a tour of the place to see how busy they are - SERIOUSLY!!!! So when my wife said all food we're leaving she came running out after my wife yelling. Now at a great place in Logan, IA
