Decent food at cheap prices. Close to the movie theater which is a plus.

Visited the Okobojii Grill at 4:00 on a Saturday and there was one other table. We were promptly seated and the server arrived shortly thereafter. Menu is your standard sandwiches, salads, apps, etc. I had the Philly Boat Anchor (philly toppings and fries on top of toast, covered in cheese) and it was good. Wife had cheese nuggets which were just average. Friend had a burger and said it was good. Onion rings were light and crispy if a little flavorless. Service was quite slow considering the amount of people.

Great service, and they have vegetarian and gluten free choices!!

Went here today around 3:30, no wait to be seated. We were one of three tables in the restaurant and it still took 30+ minutes to receive our food. We were not given silver wear or napkins, but eventually tracked an employee down to grab us some. The food was delicious- I had a veggie Mexican wrap with Boji fries. I really appreciate the vegetarian menu; makes the selection process much easier. Over all, Reese, our server let us down, but the food was worth it.

My favorite restaurant! I eat here on a very regular basis. Salads are large! Pastas are great in comparison to Olive Garden's. The salmon is so juicy and can be blackened, plain, lemon peppered, or smothered in sweet chili. Most often plays country music, so it is family friendly. Outdoor/lake theme. There is a patio that is fenced in with umbrellas over tables for a great summer dining. They also have a party room in the back which would be great for larger groups. Being renovated over the last couple months. Oh, and TVs all around the restaurant on different sports channels.

A friend and I went to lunch here because we weren't sure what we wanted and she suggested Okoboji because they had "all sorts of things". I'm not from here so I had never heard of this place but if someone asked, I'd tell them it's similar food to say, a Chili's or an Applebee's. That being said, it's not necessarily bad, it's just not that great. We arrived around 11 45 and it wasn't too busy (the place had a sort of weird boating/cabin/lodge feel, which was emphasized later and explained once I did some Googling of "Okoboji"), so we were sat right away and never had problems with our server, he was kind and attentive and got our orders correct. When I saw that the menu had hilarious pictures of people water-skiing in neon colored life jackets, I started to wonder where the hell I was. I ordered a sandwich I figured I couldn't make at home and it was fine. The crinkle cut fries that came with it (so many carbs!) were fine. My friend ordered the mushroom burger and said it was good. She did have the "Okoboji fries" which were seasoned were probably the best thing I ate there. When we left the place was filling up, so lunchtime on a Thursday is apparently poppin'. It wasn't the worst place I've eaten, but it was far from the best. Really, I just felt like I didn't need to pay $10 for a mediocre sandwich. But if I do ever find myself there again, I'll be sure to say hello to my water sporting friends on the menu.

I had never heard of this place, and didn't have very high expectations as a result of some mixed reviews, but Okoboji Grill was excellent! We went Sunday evening and it was pretty slow. We were glad to take advantage of their kids eat free offer. My wife, who was 34 weeks pregnant at the time of our visit, really enjoyed the Kentucky Bourbon burger. I had the Boji Bleu burger, and it was well seasoned with fried onion strings and large chunks of bleu cheese. Both burgers were under $9 too. Boji fires (seasoned fries with a side of ranch) were a tasty addition. The kids also enjoyed their cheeseburger and mac & cheese (which arrived in a dinosaur dish to the delight of my boy). The was football on in the bar, but not much of a crowd. The server had plenty of time to devote to us, and took care of everything we needed. Looked like a good selection of beers, and local brews on tap. We are looking forward to heading back soon!

Their Buffalo Chicken Salad it ok, the sandwich is better honestly, the servers r usually fine, but i liked the one in North Liberty better, much nicer place than this.

Tried for the first time tonight and it exceeded my expectations. Got the Philly Steak Sandwich and the Chicken Strip basket to split between two people. We both walked away satisfied and extremely full! Had the mashed potatoes w/gravy & the cheese curds for sides. Gravy was too thick but otherwise both good. Will definitely eat here again!

I did not suffer any food poisoning from eating at Okoboji and I actually found the good to be pretty good. I had the 4 alarm burger that came with boji fries. While the burger was not as spicy as advertised, it was still delicious and presented with a good portion size. The boji fries are the crispy, seasoned type and they were delicious. The waiter was quite attentive and provided very good service to our table.

Not much of a grill... Mostly fried chicken strips and variations thereof. Sauces on the chicken were mostly high fructose corn syrup. Salad was mediocre at best, just iceberg lettuce and shredded cheese/carrots. Also weird atmosphere- woodsy outdoor decor with remixed top 40 music from the 80s and 90s all to eat overpriced bar food. Go there if you want to get drunk, but you won't see me eating there again.

If there were an option for zero stars I would have definitely given it to Okoboji. I ordered the Alfredo pollo which sounded very good but was complete garbage. The breadstick that came with it tasted like it had been dipped in cleaning products and the quality of the salad was worse than the lettuce and vegetables I use to feed my pet turtle. I was even a little hungover when I had the meal which typically makes everything taste a little better but it still did not remotely satisfy a single taste bud. I applaud how the restaurant is even still in business but it actually makes sense because most of Iowa is a piece of shit anyway.

Great food. Love the blackened salmon. Always good portions and a huge selection. Like to support the locally owned restaurants.
