Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Indianola is lucky to have two pizza joints on the square: Pete's and Winns. For dinner I visited Pete's with a couple of friends. We split a large pizza (plenty for three people), and indulged in a pitcher of beer ($8.50). The vegetable pizza was cooked to perfection and finger-licking good; the crust was perfect. Frosted mugs were served with the pitcher of beer, very old school. My one large complaint about Pete's is the acoustics and resulting noise. When it's busy, it's tough to carry on a conversation without speaking loudly. The space is small and confined, and while normally I would call this cozy, it's a hindrance having to speak so loudly to be heard. Other than the noise, the ambiance is cool, comfy and sporty. And nobody can say that the games up front aren't cool. What better way to top off a dinner of pizza and beer than with some basketball? Don't let the exterior fool you! This place, though a bit dive-y, is clean, the service is great, and a lot of love goes into their pizza. Definitely worth a try for a casual dinner out. Come hungry.

Pete's has some awesome pizza. Thin crust, cornmeal on bottom, delicious sauce and good amount and quality of toppings. It's a small bar on the town square, and a fantastic place to eat. Small seating area, so be ready to wait if you are planning to dine in. The atmosphere is a ton of fun, and anyone would enjoy it. There's a little arcade in the entry area, which is fun for kids or adults!

Hidden gem on the square. Great place to grab a crispy thin crust pizza & beer. Get there early as they fill up quick. Also verify their hours--they're usually closed earlier in the week.

Wrong restaurant and couldn't delete

One of my Fav pizza's places of all time. It's the pizza equivalent to a great "dive bar". Make sure to have a beer in a true frosted mug that's so cold it may form a little ice on top.

I think the pizza is just ok, but the rest of my family loves it. The arcade is excellent for entertaining the kiddos until the food is ready.

We were visiting from Kansas City and had already decided before arriving in town that Pete's Pizza would be where we'd eat. The place was pretty much packed, unlike the other places we visited while in Indianola on this Saturday in July. The pizza is cracker thin crust and thick with cheese, smothering the toppings. The sauce is rich and sweet. It was a great pizza, one of the best we've found on our years of this trips. I definitely recommend it! The space itself is divided in three sections. In the front is a game room with a pool table, Pop-a-Shot, and video games. In the middle is a narrow bar area, which we sat at the edge of. The far back is the dining area, which is where all the families were. On our way out we ran into the owner, and we gave her our heartfelt thanks for such a good pizza. :) PS - Warning: Cash only!

Pete's is a great place to eat but if you get there at 7:00 expect to have a hard time finding a place to sit. The pizza is great and the atmosphere is second to none.
