Finding a place with consistently good service AND food quality is rare, especially in the world of truck stops. As a truck driver I enjoy trying local restaurants whenever I get the opportunity, and Junie's is one of my favorites. Originally I tried the place due to recommendations from family who live in the area, and stuck with it. I've eaten here several times and each time they maintain a great friendly staff and delicious food. Although 4-star quality on food and service, I only gave them 4 stars due to the basic menu. It didn't wow me, but the consistency of quality will keep me hoping back every time I'm in Waterloo. A tip... definitely try the desserts from the case. You just can't get strawberry rhubarb pie down south, and it happens to be my favorite.

I stopped in here for breakfast and had the breakfast sandwich which was very good. I paid about 6 bucks for just the sandwich though, nothing else. I didn't need anything else since this did feel me up! I still think it was a lil over priced. I also paid 2 bucks for 1 cup of coffee. Waitress gladly filled everyone's thermos and her own cup and was then out of coffee and had to make more! So service is not so lovely. Not to mention she coughed several times without covering her mouth and never washed her hands from handling food to money, back to food. Food was good, but they really need to spruce up the service. BTW, my good came out fast and hot.

Had Sunday lunch here today. They had a breakfast/lunch buffet set-up. Simple but good food and all you can eat for $11.95. Looked briefly at the menu which seems to offer a lot of different choices though out the day.

A really good truck stop restaurant. Very large menu and great service. We were sitting here for two days so ate here a number of times and service was always friendly and prompt. Menu selections were much better than average. We were very pleased.

This is your typical truck stop diner. It is excellent for breakfast. Really extensive menu for what it is. You can order omelets your way with cheese and egg whites or whatever you prefer. The toast comes pre buttered so if you're not into that you better speak up. The service is good and prompt and the food is good and cheap. Highly recommend this place for a breakfast stop on your long road trip through Iowa.
