Interesting bar/restaurant in a converted old building at the end of Main Street downtown Dubuque. Good selection of Craft Beers on Tap. For what I ordered, my burger was good. Great place for Hawkeye fans.

Stopped in for a quick scotch on the rocks on a Tuesday night. The bearded wonder of a bartender was rude and unfriendly. Seems if you didn't order food or craft beer you were not welcomed by him. The food being served around me looked good. Need to teach a few manners to the bartender...otherwise a nice place.

The reviews don't give this place justice, Lot One has a great craft beer selection and a fun atmosphere. All of the staff is helpful and friendly! Good place to grab a quick lunch or Sunday morning Bloody Mary (I would argue they are the best in town!) Always a great crowd who wants to have fun. If you want somewhere stuffy and pretentious, this bar is not for you!

We ate here twice in one weekend. Once for lunch, and once for their Sunday brunch. Lunch: we arrived mid-afternoon and met my sister at her already held table. Our server, Dan, was very friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered the Rueben sandwich with red pepper Gouda soup, my sister had the build-your-own Bison burger with fries, and my husband went with the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. We also got an appetizer of jalapeño poppers to share between the three of us, and my husband had a Guinness. The food was absolutely AMAZING. The soup was so delicious that I almost ordered a second bowl. The poppers were more than just breaded cream-cheese stuffed peppers, but had a complex herbed breading and a creamy blend of flavors in the filling. They messed up my sister's burger slightly but they fixed it instantly. My husband's onion rings were unique, clearly done in-house, with a sweet breading that didn't overpower the onion goodness. Brunch: when we stopped in Sunday morning, it was PACKED and my husband/sister ended up standing at our table for a while while we waited for chairs to become free (I was given a chair immediately because I'm pregnant). We ordered without too much wait: biscuits and gravy with blueberry pancakes for my sister and I, and a three egg bacon and pepper omelette and a pancake for my husband. Due to the high volume of customers, we did have a decently long wait for our food to come out, but we were kept supplied with drinks (soda, cocktails, and coffee, respectively) and we were never ignored. When our food did arrive, it was steaming hot and incredibly tasty. Biscuits and gravy are hard to do well, in my opinion, and this was stellar -- big chunks of sausage in a thick well seasoned heavy on top of REAL biscuits. The pancakes were enormous and packed with blueberries inside them (not just piled on top like many places do). Both experiences were FABULOUS. This will be our go-to spot for dining in Dubuque on our trips here. You can't go wrong at Lot One.

Today I drove to Iowa to check and see if it was real. After driving and driving and driving, I FINALLY crossed the Mississippi and much to my surprise, I did not disappear. I even had 4 bars on my LTE. Dubuque is not even close to a city. It is, by definition, small town USA. Much to my surprise, and joy, I found this bar that had an exceptional selection of local craft brews and decent bar food for CHEAP. I had an IPA from Minnesota and a blonde beer from Galena, IL which is just over the river. Both were very good and inexpensive. I also tried a buffalo chicken wrap which was a good value. The bar appeared to be a great place to watch sports and it looks like it is a Cubs/Iowa bar. They had a lot of tvs and a long, wooden bar area. There was a lot of seating and there were tables in the back for groups. They all had prime views of the TVs After I ate, I wandered and bought Iowa power ball tickets. Exciting day. I will return on my voyage to the Field of Dreams since this is on the way.

Aesthetically, the place is extremely appealing. Nice complement of wood, brick and glass. Nice lighting. Good location. However, the place needs someone too inject the food with quality. Tuesday night Burger basket advertised one price and charged another on menu. No apologies. "We changed the price...", was the response. Obviously. Ok. Burger was bland. I know it's bar food , but the place is in the downtown hotel district; so they get an audience, but not many returns for the food; even for locals. Burger was for the masses who don't know a good burger and for whom compares all burgers to fast food. Should taste better. Although Tuesday, place was relatively empty considering the food deal. But it's Dubuque. I'd go back to show off the place to a visitor and a beer, but not for the food.

Great food, good beer, really cute and comfortable surroundings. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Great food. Friendly service and the best selection of craft beer for miles. If it is time for a burger, brunch, or the big game this place is for you.

A couple of us stopped in as it was recommended as a place that served breakfast a bit later. Walked in and it was a pub/bar style. There was no host or hostess so I asked a waitress what their seating policy was. "What you see is what you get" was the response I get. Now if she said it with a smile, I probably would have laughed and sat down somewhere without a glitch, but she was extremely rude in the way she said it. No biggie though. People have bad days. We sit at the bar and she came and left at least 15 times to make a drink or pour coffee immediately in front of us and never acknowledged us. The bartender on duty never came over either despite walking past us a couple times. After 20 minutes of not even getting a "hello" or " be right with you" we got up and left. I can't tell you how the food is, but the service is for crap.

We went here for pre-dinner drinks around 6:30pm. There were not many people there but the music was crazy loud. The bartender was not super busy and not very friendly. We only stayed for one drink and went to our dinner place early.

Stop #1 on the Dubuque to Galena tour. A liberal arts town deserves a few hip watering holes. This bar could've been contenda, but the clientel was....what's the word. Well, let's just say that if a certain segment of the population takes over a joint, best to fly the rainbow flag out in front. It was uncomfortable. Too bad, as Monday nights are "crappy can nights," ($1 for PBR, Keystone, Old Milwaukee and Hamm's cans...Hamm's, something we see nothing of in VA).

Fun at night. But avoid the breakfast!

Another solid addition to Dubuque's revitalized Main Street district, joining the Grape Harbor, Manna Java, The Busted Lift, and the Pepper Sprout. Lot One fills the sports bar niche, but it's a class joint all the way. The numerous plasmas give just about every seat in the house a great view of the game, but the dark wood, stamped tin ceiling and framed art all raise the place a couple notches above your standard sports bar. They also have a good selection of imports and microbrews on tap. Someone invested a lot of money in renovating this space, and it shows. There is a dinner menu featuring burgers, sandwiches and salads, but there's not many tables and don't go expecting to have a quiet meal!
