When I get to pick where my family goes for a special meal - I choose here. My 3 favorite things there - the Tucson brushetta salad, fish tacos, and salmon. Though I've never had anything I didn't like. Great ambiance and great service.

To be honest, my most recent trip to Houlihan's convinced me that it is essentially an Applebee's for those who wish to be highbrow. There is nothing horrible about it, but nothing that makes it stand out, either. One some level you are left with the impression that you wish it was about $3 per entree, if that they at least gave you more of what you ordered. To be honest, the food is good to pretty good (I certainly prefer it to Star, which I realize is pretty slight praise). I've never left angry, but I've also never left full. And call me nuts, but if I drop $35 (two drinks, and appetizer and an entree) on dinner, I think I should leave having consumed a bit more food. It's a place I'll go back to, but not that often.

Outstsnding. They deliver to the Hilton Garden Inn, the food was great, it was reasonable and the portions were big. I had the pot roast and tortilla chicken soup....wow.

I signed up online, and received a free birthday meal much to my delight. So on my way home from shopping - after being ill all week for my birthday - I stopped to have a late lunch and was not disappointed. Since it was my birthday, I had appetizer, entree, and dessert! To start I had their hot spinach dip, followed by the Asian Chicken Chop Salad, and topped off with Creme Brulee for dessert! The food was excellent - tho I have had better Creme Brulee - and the service was just as excellent. The atmosphere was very relaxing and pleasant also.

You would think you could get a good Reuben at this place. Think again! Terrible sandwich, the corned beef was processed and flavorless, the cheese was like a cheap white sauce, and the fries were crispier than the soggy bread. Not going to this chain ever again.

Not sure why but I love the chicken tortilla soup here. I like it so much that I made a whole pot at home as I was trying to copy their soup. I still have a big tupperware of it in my freezer. However, this place has a magnet effect over me every time I am in town. Surprisingly, I'm not pulled in by their other locations anywhere else. Service usually is pretty good and fast at the main dining room or the bar. I enjoyed a couple things on their menu like the fish tacos and the grilled salmon. Nothing mind blowing, just enough to fill the tummy and wind down with a glass of cocktail after a long day of work and travel. If you stay at the Hilton Garden Inn where this restaurant is connected to, you can get 500 Hilton Honors points if you spend over $25 at the restaurant. Not bad. It is also close to the Mystique Casino. It's literally across the parking lot. I wish I could do a throw down like Bobby Flay and see whose soup is better. This soup inspired several people around the world. I made it and posted on facebook. Then, my friends in Norway, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sweden, Taiwan, and so forth made it too and posted the soup made with the same recipe I concocted or guessed...really. Who knew it was inspired by a chain restaurant pre-made soup? Lol..

My boyfriend and I came to Houlihans because I signed up for their email program and received $10 off of $30. Service was lacking tonight. I had finished my water shortly after receiving if and I did not get a refill until after we received our meals, which includes the time I got my soup and finished it, with an empty glass. When our server delivered our meals, he didn't check if we needed anything. I had given him the benefit of the doubt thinking he was busy but my boyfriend said he spent much of the time standing by the bar doing nothing. Food was ok. I love the tortilla soup but the chips were stale. I also had the Thai Chicken. The chicken was good, but the rice was soggy. I've rarely had bad food there, so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt that it was an off day.

I'm really giving Houlihan's 4 stars for the service, and for the stuffed mushrooms. Otherwise I feel it's a more upscale TGI Friday's that is just as loud. But oh, the stuffed mushrooms. I loved them so much I forgot to take a picture for my fellow Yelpers to see because I started diving right in as soon as they came to the table. However I did get pictures of the... * Refreshing Tuscan Side Salad yelp.com/biz_photos/houl… * Tortilla Soup yelp.com/biz_photos/houl… * Chicken Noodle Soup yelp.com/biz_photos/houl… I'd recommend this restaurant more for a quick lunch when you're craving a sandwich and some fries or for dinner, if you're going out with the friends and family and want to drink... a lot... and eat... a lot.

I'd pass on this place if I were you.... Poor service. Odd hours for being attached to hotel that's attached to a casino. The temperature inside was warmer than my cup of soup. Half hour prior to closing (10:30 on a Friday night) they asked us to leave because "they wanted to teach their employee how to lock the doors". Maybe this is an indicator at the failing franchise. My first one star review. Houlihan's Dubuque you take the honor.

Nice atmosphere, great service, outstanding food! I had the "Burger 72," which was done just right and extremely tasty; highly recommend! Potato soap, chicken breast, and egg rolls were equally fantastic!

I don't know why this place has a 3-star review because this place is totally legit. I've NEVER had a bad meal here. They've actually have ALWAYS been great. The service has never been bad (though lunch is obviously faster than dinner). My favorite dishes: The chicken finger platter. The tortilla soup The house sirloin. The chicken parm sandwich The chicken BLT The fish tacos The Ghiradelli (sp?) brownie sundae

Look out for this place!! They have a 15 minute guarantee on luncheon specials. Alas, they don't honor it. We ordered potato soup and a salad. The soup, which was quite good, came out in five minutes. After 18 minutes I went to the kitchen counter where it became clear that our waitress hadn't put in our salad order. Shortly thereafter someone came to our table and told us that we had to alert them before the fact to activate their 15 minute guarantee. So, they screw up and order and use some small print excuse to void the 15 minute guarantee. Hello: Is this the old Soviet Union? We recommend that you do not patronize a place that so cavalierly screws customers.

I was here in a Saturday night with a group of 11. We were seated really quickly, but it took forever to get drinks and food. The drinks were worth the wait though! Try the Martini Flight! It's such a great take on the traditional beer flight! Also, the Burger 72 is amazing!!

Super convenient if your staying at the hilton next door. You can walk right through without even going outside. Had a nice dinner at the bar. Food was great, drinks were fast and there were just enough people to not be crowded but not empty.

A friend and I stopped here for lunch on a road trip and although the meal was made quickly, it was so-so. The club had the potential to be awesome but it was clear that the ingredients were not quality and that it was super unhealthy.

The service was very good, but that was about it. Just a very average chain restaurant. The beer selection was good and the beer was cold. The steak I had lacked flavor. I would suggest sticking with the basics when eating here.

I didn't have high expectations for Houlihan's. I expected another Applebee's/Ground Round, casual-dining, throw-the-kitchen-sink-on-the-wall kinda place. Wrong! It *is* casual dining, but the decor is classier and the menu more adventurous. The main dining room is finished in dark wood with ambient lighting from blown-glass light fixtures, and there are framed Art Deco posters on the wall, not movie stills from the Wizard of Oz and what have you. The menu items don't stray too far from steaks, sandwiches, and salads, but with a twist. Goat cheese bruschetta, for example. Mmmm. Presentation is also well done - salads are cone-shaped and the ingredients form discrete layers, like an illustration from a geology textbook! Everything I tried was delicious - especially the salad (which is saying something!) I've heard people complain about the prices, but they're no higher than Applebee's. Perhaps folks just don't like restaurants taking liberties with their favorite meals - who knows. I love it, and based on the crowd, it appears that a lot of other people do, too.
These YOKELS tried to sit us in a one person booth @ around 8 pm on a Friday night....yeah right! People around just don't eat dinner in such small tables, specially when the restaurant is half empty. So we got up took our business to a local establishment. Big businesses just don't appreciate their customers. This is a small town, words gets around and they should realize that.
