Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. Had a great tasty burger, veggie burger was also delicious. Dinner for 4 without drinks was less than $50. I'll go back to try the poutine and report back. Poutine update: I am now ready to have a heart attack. I should remembered that the reason I ate poutine for the first time was that I had skied in owls head (Quebec) all day and it was -15 outside.... Brrr... My body needed the fat. Not so much this time. The fries were ok, a bit saggy (perhaps too much oil & gravy?) and I was disappointed about the cheese curds... A top of bacon for a fulminant heart attack. Will never do that again on a summer night when all my body did through the day was stroll around a museum. Save the poutine for winter... Or a bad hang over.

Came here with the family after having eaten at the top rated Dubuque restaurant the night before and being very disappointed. As such I didn't have high hopes for this place. Happily it turned out just fine. We started with an order of Poutine, french fries with cheese and gravy. This was good but certainly a once a year food. I couldn't decide what to order so I asked the waitress what she recommended. She responded with either the fish tacos or the mushroom Swiss burger. Since this more of a bar I opted for the burger over the tacos, which I think would be better at a Mexican restaurant. The burger was good with a nice char on the outside but still juicy on the inside. Service was okay but a bit slow. The waitress was very good at keeping our diet cokes full!

What a great place! We received the very best service from Nathan. The Scottish egg, Pork belly & kimchee sandwich, & martinis (I got the award winning chocolate & pineapple upside down cake) were all delicious. The parmasean truffle fries were good, but a tad bit soggy. the kitchen was running a bit slow for a Friday night & they ran out of cod (for their fish & chips), but I'd definitely love to come back when I visit the area again.

Down to earth. Could get nicer servers. Food is great. Good portions. They have both Pepsi and Coca Cola products.

While visiting family in Dubuque we found this gem north of downtown. One of my complaints with Dubuque is that is has lacked the local food movement that many other bigger cities have seen. I was happy to find and support the copper kettle. Upon arriving we were told it was going to be a 45 minute wait for a table for 7. The place is small and popular so be prepared! We sat down at the bar which was open and ordered a round of drinks and nachos. I bought the round and was pleased to find it was under $30. I got a Moscow mule and was doubly surprised when it came with an alcoholic ginger beer of which I got to keep and finish. The best. The nachos were good and enough to share as an app for our large group. For dinner I went for the healthy version of their fish and chips. I got three huge pieces of baked white flaky fish and was so satisfied. I wanted to take a bite of everyone's dishes, they all looked good, guess I have an excuse to stop back.

Service was a bit slow and our server seemed only half there. Beer battered onion rings were light and crispy with a delicious siracha ranch dip. The flat iron salad was requested medium but it came out well done - luckily that cut can handle it without getting tough or dry. The dressing was requested on the side as well and it came out fully dressed. Fortunately it was not overdressed and it had a balanced flavor. These two big mistakes caused a full star downgrade. Prices were a bit steep as well. $13.95 for the salad was about $2 too much given the tiny piece of meat (about 3 oz) and lack of interesting ingredients. Only greens, lettuce, carrots and cucumbers with two grape tomatoes. The truffle parmesan fries were as good as they get - crispy, hot and well seasoned with parm and truffle oil. Jalapeno burger was juicy with nice heat. Across the street there is a cool old building that used to house the Dubuque Brewery from 1895 to 1940. The bartender has an old book the brewery published about itself. Ask to see it. They no longer serve the pork belly sandwich so if you are going there for that be forewarned!

The Copper Kettle is a little hidden gem in Dubuque. After a long work day, I arrived a 8:59--with the kitchen closing at a 9:00pm, except for entrees--my waitress said, "Here is the menu, if you order now, I'll get it in. And you can choose your salad later." So fish and chips it was! I appreciate someone looking out for me and taking initiative. I hadn't eaten since breakfast, so this was a solid service. Too bad I didn't get a chance to look over the menu. But I'll be in Dubuque all week so I might try to get there a little earlier tomorrow night.

Awesome find for us on our trip to Dubuque! Fried pickles and cheese curds were absolute perfection. My husband had the fried cod taco special and ranked it right under his favorite fish tacos ever, he's had a lot so feel excited to be #2! I had the pulled pork nachos and they were awesome and served as a great late night snack later :) Amy was a great server. Loved the ambience. Copper Kettle was the highlight of our trip thank you!

Was visiting Dubuque for the weekend and found this place on yelp. The pork belly and kimchee sandwich reviews was what drew me to this restaurant. I already knew what I wanted to order before I sat down. To my great disappointment, it wasn't what I expected at all. The meat was dry, not juicy and fatty like normal pork belly that I've had before, and the kimchee was way too overbearing. It was a pretty spicy sandwich. From an asian perspective who has had pork belly and kimchee at many restaurants before, it did not meet my expectations. But I guess I didn't come to an asian restaurant either, so it makes sense that they wouldn't excel in making this dish. However, to make up for it, we also tried fish tacos, truffle fries, and their cheese curds. My husband actually ordered fish n chips, but received the wrong order (but decided fish tacos were okay too, so we didn't complain). The fish tacos were decent, but not amazing, I would say. The truffle fries and the homemade chips that came with my pork belly and kimchee sandwich were my favorite, and if I come back, I'd definitely get one of these again. The cheese curds were pretty good too, but a bit too oily and unhealthy to eat too many for just the two of us. They were pretty good though and had a good dipping sauce (can't remember what the sauce was). All in all, I may come again to try other things and to get their fries/chips again, but if you're well-versed in pork belly/kimchee, I'd stay away from that here. There's lots more they have to offer though.

Copper kettle is a wonderful find! We started with the fried curds and sriracha ranch, which I highly recommend. The salad and dressing was fantastic but also you must get the Parmesan truffle fries I had the caprese chicken and my husband had the fish in chips. Both delicious. The breading on his was perfect. Not too thick and great flavor.

5 of us went for dinner on a Friday night a few weeks ago. For appetizers, we ordered the poutine and the cornbread. The cornbread was rancid (by which I really mean rancid and therefore inedible) so we sent it back. I was looking forward to the pork belly sandwich, but unfortunately the menu as published on their Facebook page was out-of-date so I ordered a burger instead. My burger was excellent as was the fish and chips. Another dining companion ordered the salmon. Despite the fact that she barely touched it, the server made no attempt to discern what the issue was. Part way through our entrees, we realized our server had failed to bring our salads. After reminding her, they appeared fairly quickly, but she was pretty nonchalant about the lapse. One would think that an inedible appetizer, forgotten salads and a dish that clearly wasn't enjoyed would have, at the very least, elicited an apology. None was forthcoming nor did they offer even the smallest gesture to help salvage our experience.

Very local-feeling bar and restaurant in a more residential area of Dubuque! Not in the main downtown, but that means it's packed with Dubuque families enjoying their meals and loads of Dubuque natives sipping craft beers. The menu is very bar-y, with poutine as a highlight for carnivores but with options as well for vegetarians/pescatarians. I got the walnut-crusted salmon which was perfectly cooked. I also upgraded my fries to parmesan truffle fries, which were outstanding and well worth the extra $1. This was one of our better meals in Dubuque, for sure.

My brother in law took my family and I here for lunch upon our arrival in Dubuque. As we were driving in the Yelp reviews got me really excited! While we enjoyed our lunch (the food was great), the service was a little lack luster. Maybe I'm just picky but I sat several times with an empty glass, my food came out before my salad and they were out of the item we ordered for our daughter. The atmosphere is pretty cool and the food was good. The cheese curd appetizer is amazing, I love curds and these are very fresh. I would definitely go again.
(4)Steven R.
My family and I had dinner here last night. As many other reviewers have mentioned, the cheese curds are great! My daughter and I enjoyed our fish and chips but my son thought his burger was just average and my wife said that she has had better gyros. The atmosphere is casual and our waitress was terrific.
(4)Kyle R.
Over an hour wait for our food, but I don't typically discount restaurants for things like that. Stuff happens which sometimes cause this sort of behavior. The nachos with pulled pork we had there was phenomenal, easily the best nachos that I have ever had. However, the rest of the food was a little lacking in comparison. The special fries were overloaded with parmesean cheese and overbearing and the rest of the food didn't live up to expectations at all.

Great lil hidden spot. Arrived early and soon place was packed. Quick, friendly service. Great menu with twists in traditional favorites. Very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We'll be back!

I'm a foodie by default. I travel for a living and I not only hate chains, I love supporting area businesses and products. This place has great, local sourced ingredients at extremely reasonable prices, a great drink menu and local drafts/liqours and at a price less than you will pay at some box place. Try them out, I'll be back every time I'm in town and I wouldn't give that recommendation lightly.
(4)Margo K.
I came here in February, when my family was meeting my then finance's family for the first time. The table we were seated at, was right near the door, which was a bit chilly being the middle of February. It was long and rectangular, which made it hard to really talk to everyone and being my the door, we were easily distracted. The food was great. It was pretty slow getting to our table, but was yummy once it finally arrived. I had the fish tacos, and they are very good. I will be back but probably not with a group of 10.
(4)Mark S.
Great place. Had the curds, scotch egg & tuna. Wow, all of it was excellent and service was great! Server recommended everything I had. I have never done that before. It's a must try in Dubuque.

I'm kind of surprised this was rated one of the top restaurants in Dubuque. We were pretty disappointed with our experience. Parking was really easy. Lots of street parking in the area. Always a plus. We sat near a window and were enjoying the view until we realized that there was a good dozen or so flies buzzing up against the glass. Despite this being pretty gross, we looked on the bright side and made it into a really weird game. I ordered a pumpkin ale after seeing that they had one on tap and my date ordered a Moscow Mule after seeing really beautiful copper mugs hanging behind the bar. The server brought us out a bottle of some other pumpkin beer and the saddest Moscow Mule I've ever seen. It wasn't in one of the beautiful shiny mugs, but a kid-sized well-patina'd mug full of ice and a lime wedge. The waitress then proceeded to pour "hard ginger beer" out of a bottle into the mug. What? $8 for that? No good. The appetizer we ordered (a mix of fried zucchini, squash, and pickles) was by far the best part of our meal. I loved the flavorful curry sauce it was served with. Yum! I had a burger with onions and white cheddar. It was pretty greasy, which made it hard to eat. I ended up giving up after making it through just about half of it. My date had the muffaletta, which he said while filling, was just average. His side choice was beer cheese soup, which was another good part of the meal. Smooth and full of flavor. Overall, just a decent experience. I think we'll be seeking another option for food the next time we find ourselves in Dubuque.

Visited This evening with two guests. The atmosphere was great! The service was great! We ordered the Poutin and cheese curds for appetizer. The Poutin was like nothing I've ever eaten! It was fantastic! The cheese curds were good too, but the Siracha Ranch really sealed the deal! For dinner, I ordered the mushroom chicken marsala and loved it! I have bookmarked this spot and will return on my next trip to Dubuque.

Excellent food! Great service! In Dubuque for the weekend and found this gem when searching online. Would highly recommend to anyone!!! Burgers, Parmesan fries and gyros are amazing!

I was in here a few months ago as I passed through on business, and the service was exemplary and the food was delicious. Oftentimes on the road it is difficult to find something satisfying to eat that doesn't leave you feeling shameful and greasy. I tried a pork belly sandwich with kimchi which was outstanding and the fact that I never saw my glass half empty as I enjoyed an Arnold Palmer made this lunch stop that much better. Bottom line: good food, great service, solid lunch. I will be back.
(5)Tracy S.
Stopped for lunch while passing through Dubuque. Delicious food. Great beer selection. Good service. I had the Hangover sandwich which was a BLT with an egg on it. It was really good. Served with their homemade chips. We also tried some chicken wings and cheese curds. Also Delicious. I'll be back for sure.

We were there last night. They did a great job reviving a historic Dubuque business. The bar and drinks were as expected. We had the onion rings, they were also good. However, they missed the mark on fine dining. Don't expect to have a any type of dinner conversation, the dining room is noisy and overcrowded. The menu is very limited which is usually a plus. The expectation is that each item is suburb. We had a party of 6, four different menu items but only 2 were satisfied with the meal. I don't mind spending a couple hundred dollars for a group of six if everyone had a great meal. I was extremely disappointed and will not recommend or return. Overpriced want to be exclusive fine dining. Go for drinks, maybe an appetizer, go somewhere else for dinner.

After a very strenuous morning of boutique shopping with my Aunt we drove over to the other side of town for lunch at The Copper Kettle. The place has been recently refurbished and it was beautifully and tastefully done. We both ordered a sandwich. She got the Muffafletta and I opted for the Kim Chee braised pork belly. We also wanted to try the scotch egg as an appetizer, but they were already out of those. It was 12:15 on a Wednesday. Our sandwiches came with house made chips and with one of them we upgraded to parmesan truffle fries for an additional $3. The fries were soggy and limp and not just from the truffle oil, as there was a very small amount of that on there. By far we enjoyed the braised pork belly sandwich the best. My Aunt was not impressed with her Mufaletta. Our service was fantastic! On the way out we visited the restroom and it was clean but smelled very bad. I noticed that the air freshener dispenser was empty, so maybe they were just out of it.

This was a great find in Dubuque. We went for dinner on a weeknight and it was not crowded at all. We had a great waitress who was quite attentive. The food was good, but could have been better. I ordered the fish and chips, apparently a favorite, but wasn't all that impressed (how much can you really innovate on fish and chips though). My date's order, the Kim Chee Braised Pork Belly, was fantastic though. We also got the cheese curds as an appetizer which were good. We tried ordering the Scotch Egg on the menu, but they were out. All-in-all it was a good experience and we'd definitely go back.

I stopped here for lunch because of the good Yelp reviews. I have to say thank you to the Yelp Community for nailing this one. Sometimes I try place with good reviews and wonder what the hell people were thinking. This time the food matched the expectations. I ordered a Kimchi Pork sandwich because, where else can you get a kimchi pork sandwich. The mix of tangy and savory and sweet pork was exceptional. The truffle fries were hot and crispy. They were with the extra $3. A vast bottled beer selection, and some unique beers on rap round out a great meal. The dark wood, tin ceilings and old Dubuque created a great atmosphere. Overall, the best, most unique lunch I've had in a long time. It left me wondering I I can get out of my dinner plans tonight.

This place is off the beaten path in a residential area. I thought I was going the wrong way when I first arrived. Now to preface this, my experience in Iowa for business has been less than desirable for my palate. I went to the Copper Kettle because of the great reviews and was again slightly disappointed. My first impression of the place was that it was very well maintained and had a decent selection of beer. I came in at 5:00 pm on a Friday night and it was not crowded. The servers must have been a little bored as they were chatting about their personal lives. At first, it really wasn't a big deal since they were slower and were making harmless conversation. At first I was pretty excited as I tried a burger in Bellevue, Iowa yesterday and was severely disappointed. To satisfy my cravings, I ordered a Mushroom and Swiss burger and truffle fries with cheese curds as an appetizer. The cheese curds were great. I grew up in Wisconsin and the curds at Copper Kettle were very comparable to great tasting curds in Wisconsin. My main meal was dissatisfying. I ordered my burger medium well and it seemed done right but the meet was still a bit chewy. I'm not exactly sure what the hype is about the truffle fries because to me they tasted a bit overcooked and dry. When it comes to ratings, I tend to rate places based on their service. The bartender seemed friendly but didn't have much knowledge of their beer. I asked about a beer on tap and he simply just told me what it was. When I clarified and asked what type of beer, he said shortly "a light beer." I instead did my own research and found a beer I would like. Another gentleman sat next to me 10 minutes after I ordered my food and received his food before me. I also never received silverware. Overall decent food and ok service.

This was my first time at the Copper Kettle. It was a busy Saturday night which allowed me to have a few drinks at the bar and take a nice welcoming atmosphere. The service was fantastic from beginning to the end. They were up front about the wait due to a large group that had backed up the kitchen but the way they handled it was professional and I didn't mind at all. Our waitress also helped us with the menu and I ordered the Ahi Tuna. I must say it was fantastic! The steaks looked great and I am looking forward to coming back soon.
(5)Paul G.
Was in town for a tournament and wanted to try something that was not a chain. It was me and my kids. We had the scotch egg, cheese curds, fish tacos, kids Mac $ cheese, and the kids chicken strips. The appetizers were the star of the show. The scotch egg was cooked perfectly. The cheese balls were fresh and lightly battered, they were not the frozen kind everyone else sells. They were very good. The fish taco (I know this sounds weird) was too fishy. A very strong fish flavor? Not what I expect in a fish taco. The avocado cream sauce on the tacos was good though. The Mac n cheese was tasteless. The chicken strips were good in my opinion, but they were for my 9 yr old. They were breaded in a corn meal batter that was not her favorite.
(3)Sara G.
One word: poutine. This is all you need to make your day amazing. Also- fantastic beer on tap, yummy Bloody Mary and the staff are always friendly and fun! A fun place to visit where they welcome you like a regular. A++

We came up to Dubuque from Iowa City for a day trip and we needed to stop somewhere for lunch. A quick search on the Yelp app yielded the Copper Kettle, and luckily the reviews were spot-on. So I'll throw another one into the mix. Atmosphere: The Copper Kettle doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside, the restaurant has an updated vintage vibe (is that an oxymoron? Probably). Old-timey early 20th century accents and decoration. We were there for a late lunch -- about 2:30 p.m. on a Saturday -- so we didn't deal with any crowds or waiting. Street parking in the neighborhood nearby. You might become agitated at the Copper Kettle if you have a serious aversion to country radio, but the background music didn't bother me. Service: No complaints. Our server wasn't excessively jovial, nor was he inattentive. Food and drinks came out in a timely fashion (well, the side salads came out before the drinks, but in fairness we ordered "loaded" Bloody Marys). Drinks: As mentioned, we each had a "loaded" Bloody Mary. "Loaded" because it comes with a pile of pickled goodies on top. Maybe too many goodies. We found ourselves trying to trade each other pickled onions for green beans, and setting aside a few unidentifiable vegetables. At $8, the Bloody was a tad pricy, but the drink was good. And you'll never hear me complain about a cocktail that comes with a bacon strip and a beer back. Food: The best part. I ordered the fish & chips, which came with choice of potato (I went with chips [it only seemed right]) and a side salad. The side salads are pretty standard-issue. The chips must have been made from scratch -- they were delicious, cut thick. The fish was cooked in a light beer batter and was perfect when dipped in a little bit of tartar sauce. My boyfriend ordered the buttermilk chicken and he upgraded his potato side to white truffle parmesan fries. The fries alone, as others have already noted, make the Copper Kettle worth the trip. The servings are big; I don't think either of us was able to completely clean our plates. I'd definitely return to the Copper Kettle if I'm ever in Dubuque again or just passing through.

USDA fillet mignon with roasted red pepper sauce, topped with goat cheese and arugula , garlic mash and roasted veggies on the side. An amazing dish
(5)Lonnie Z.
Thank you, Yelp, for steering me to this delightfully bohemian pub off the beaten path. The bacon blue cheese burger was every bit as good as advertised. I'll definitely be back.
(5)Jill H.
Great food, great service and fun place to be! The truffle fries were amazing and the steak was cooked perfect! Call ahead for reservations. This place was hopping, but worth the wait!

I love this place. Great food, great selection of beer. I have had the Burgers, Stakes, Mac n Cheese, Deep Fired Cheese Curds and various soups. I cannot say enough about Mary (manager) and the staff. Always top self. The vibe is real cool, like something out of 1920's Chicago. I love sitting at the bar, sipping on a Double IPA and reading Truman Capote. If you want a sports bar with girls in short shorts and bad food, dont come here. If you are looking for a nice neighborhood restaurant to bring your girl, this is the place.
(5)Neil B.
Nice local place. Good food, good atmosphere, good service, good beer. We'll be back next time we roll through the DBQ
(5)Don B.
Went here on a Sunday afternoon around 2 PM. Street parking is available all around. The interior is modern and stylish(resembles somewhere you'd see in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago). Everything was very clean and well-kept and there were TVs visible to all tables. There were just a few others eating at the time, so we just picked a table and sat down. There's about 10-12 tables in the main section of the restaurant and then additonal bar seating. The server quickly came over to get our drink order and give us a menu. There's a wide variety of somewhat unique items. Even many mainstay items have unique ingredients. i.e. instead of regular mushrooms, you get crimini mushrooms on the mushroom swiss burger. We ordered a scotch egg for the appetizer and then a mushroom swiss burger with fries and a pulled pork sandwich with homemade chips. The scotch egg arrived piping hot with a nice crisp crust and some really good mustard sauce. The yolk inside was soft and the flavor was awesome. Great job on the scotch egg. Next, the entrees came out and both were awesome. The hand-formed burger was perfectly cooked and was really juicy. The server brought me chips instead of fries, but quickly got me fries (which were also really good) and was apologetic. The pulled pork had strong pork flavor and was not overly drenched in sauce...the BBQ sauce comes on the side and was smokey, tangy and just right,. All in all the food was outstanding and the service was good. Single person bathrooms were perfect and clean. The servers were not very talkative and seemed to be making quite a few small mistakes while we were there, but nothing major. I would think with a bit of training, they could be top-notch. The price for two was $25 (with tax and the appetizer). This is very reasonable for the quality of food. Any pricier and it would turn people off. Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely stop at Copper Kettle to eat and you should too.
(4)James C.
We love coming here for either lunch or dinner. Favorites are fish tacos, pork belly/kimchi sandwich, pautine with bacon and parmesan fries. Moscow mules are excellent! Always an above average meal!
(4)Lauren M.
Tried Copper Kettle for the first time after it being suggested by a close friend. I was definitely not disappointed. It was a wonderful atmosphere inside of a modernized old brick building. Not on the main drag, but close to downtown and worth the trip. We had the Wisconsin Cheese Curds and they were better than any we've tried yet. Get them with the siracha ranch... Not too spicy but wonderful flavor. Yum! I also tried the Cheddar burger. The buns were fluffy and the burger was juicy. The meal came with a giant helping of fries. We were very impressed with our experience and will definitely go back or try the take out option!
(5)Vickie F.
Took the family here for my birthday. Awesome food. Incredible service. Highly recommend. Had the cheese curds and scotch egg for appetizer. Both extremely good. Can't wait to come back.

Wow. What a great find. Great ambiance, friendly service, nice craft beer selection and good food. Passing thru Dubuque, thanks to yelp for finding this gem. Thank goodness I arrived during daylight hours. Mildly concerned that I might not survive the trip thru the local neighborhood. Definitely brightens up around the restaurant but the drive thru town is sketchy. Maybe it's just Dubuque...

We had a touch of cabin fever and decided we needed to see the Mississippi River in the winter, why, I don't know...... We had the Copper Kettle in our sights for lunch on a Sat. and it did not disappoint. Dubuque on the other hand...... you could skip. Back to the Copper Kettle - a perfectly done Midwestern tavern/restaurant. Families w/ babies were there and well as couples and 20-somethings out for a St Patty's day fun time. Clean, with tables nicely spaced, a pretty bar and a room on the side for private parties. Plenty of TVs. The service was great. The waitress was super-friendly and on top of things. Excellent Bloody Marys. Great poutine -- french fries with brown gravy and topped w/ cheese curds. only 8000 calories too. BLT was just OK. but ordering that in the winter was my mistake. Hubby had the pulled pork sandwich topped w/ kimchee (Korean spicy cabbage). Very good -but we thought the pork needed more spice too. Maybe that would not go over in the Midwest? Housemade potato chips were crispy, warm and Super Salty and Peppery. yum. The burgers nearby looked great. Bathroom was spotless - I love that.
(4)Denise C.
What a little treasure. They don't have it on the menu but they have a great homemade veggie burger. Skip the truffle fries and just go for the hand cut fries.
(4)P H.
This place can get crazy busy and the service can be slow but food quality is always top notch. My secret is to sit at the bar and Mary the bartender will take care of you.
(5)Diamond D.
It's clear that the food is solid. I had the Pork Belly sandwich and it was good. My only issue with this hip joint is the beer on tap. Sure, I'm from Wisco and we have all sorts of fantastic options for beer. Potosi (pretty much mass produced light beer) Millerlite and Blue Moon on tap? They have multiple beers in can/bottles - I can by bottled beer at any store, but I can't buy great tap beer at any store. Upgrade the tap selections and this would put the place over the top.
(4)Renee S.
Kim chee pork belly sandwich with fresh hogie was fantastic. Great blend of flavors. Recommend the truffle flies too. Potosi on tap plus several craft beer options. Many gluten free options on the menu Worth the drive.
(4)Brian D.
Great atmosphere and the food was excellent. Really a great find as we passed though Dubuque. Food was fresh, beer selection was great and service was stellar. Would definitely stop again.
(5)Casey M.
Maybe I've just had bad luck, but the two times I've been here, everything tasted like it had just taken a swim in old, burnt fryer oil. The service was pretty iffy, too; our party was seated in a side room once and forgotten for nearly half an hour. Redeeming qualities are that they try to have some unique food, and their beer selection is pretty decent for Dubuque.

A few of my friends and I went down to the Copper Kettle (newly opened a few weeks ago!) for some lunch. I'd heard that the previous incarnation was a bit of a dive, but that wasn't at all evident in the current incarnation - it's still got that shiny new feeling. Our group was pretty big, so I can't really talk about how long it takes to get the food, but it seemed like it came pretty quickly. (On tap, btw, they have both Pepsi and Coke, as well as Blue Moon, Stella, Old Potosi, and Bud Light.) The food was pretty good - we split the onion rings and fried pickles/zucchini/squash, and those were fabulous. (A little on the salty side, but fab none the less!) I had the cheddar burger (with white cheddar and caramelized onions) with the white truffle parmesan fries for my lunch. Those fries alone were worth the trip - yum! The cheddar burger was pretty good as well, but the fries were definitely the star. Hopefully, this little gem stays busy - I can't wait to go back!

This was the best food ever. The steak bites were delicious. The bleu cheese burger had just the right amount of cheese and was very flavorful. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and it was tender and awesome too.

I've been to the nicer restaurants in Dubuque but I didn't leave with the same satisfaction I had after a simple lunch at the Copper Kettle. I would give it a solid 4 stars in a bigger city, but this is now my go-to place in Dubuque and considering the service and atmosphere I had to bump it up to 5 stars. Our server, Tiffany, did a great job in explaining the fried foods are hand-breaded, you should definitely go with the "loaded" Bloody Mary, and a burger or pork sandwich is a safe bet here. I had the Kimchi pork belly sandwich and it was a successful twist to traditional pub fare. The onion rings were legit and the beef appetizer served with romaine leaves and cherry tomatoes was definitely worth it.

This is a really cool place. It sits across the street from the old Dubuque Brewing and Malting Co. building and is decorated with pre-prohibition brewery memorabilia. The food was top-notch. I'd definitely recommend the parmesan fries.

My husband and I were in Dubuque for the day and we're looking for a good lunch. Thanks to Yelp, we found Copper Kettle. At first we weren't sure we found the right place. The outside of the building and sign is a bit nondescript and generic. It reminded me of almost every local dive bar. It just didn't look like the kind of place that would be serving the elevated food I read about in the reviews. Well friends, I judged a book by its cover and I was wrong. The atmosphere was great-- laid back with the bar and many, but not overbearing, large, blaring tvs. Service started a bit slow as we came at the end of the lunch rush, but our server was attentive and made good recommendations. My husband had the kimchi pork belly sandwich which was crispy and not overly spicy. The house made chips were tasty too! I had the pretzel-crusted pork which was very moist and crunchy. I had a side of the Parmesan truffle fries. Amazing! Worth a trip all on their own. We will be back!

The food and service at Copper Kettle were outstanding! I was recommended to this place by a client and I was not disappointed. The steak bite app and the pork chop were great. My only disappointment is not being able to eat on a regular basis.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Sunday on our way back to Wisconsin. The place is on the smaller side with a very nice interior that looks to be recently renovated. I liked the vibe. It wasn't very busy and we were told by a server to sit wherever we liked. There was a larger group that looked to have come in maybe 15 minutes before us but it didn't seem bustling. We got our drinks quickly (just water and soda) and put in our order. My husband got the braised pork belly and kimchi sandwich based on the great Yelp reviews for that item and I got the blue cheese bacon burger. We also got a side order of the garlic parmesan asparagus. And then we waited...for quite awhile. Much longer than seemed normal based on the number of people there. Our server was very nice but the wait time was just too long for two sandwiches. When the food finally arrived it turned out to be not really worth the wait. My burger was very good (although a bit overcooked, I had asked for medium and it was well done). But the pork belly was not as good as advertised. It seemed to be just run of the mill pulled pork...not what we were expecting based on the description. Also, the bun was soggy from the kimchi. The asparagus was fine but they didn't drain off the cooking water which was a bit off putting. The house made chips that came with my sandwich were quite good. Overall, an ok experience but will probably try some place else if we're in Dubuque again.

Local history is on display at this modern american restaurant. I love that Chris has brought the shine back to the Kettle. Great food, abidance, and service. I adore all the historical highlights and detail. The service and food is always spot on. Great selection of american comfort food and great local/craft beers behind the bar.

Daughter goes to school in Dubuque and wanted to try something local. I had fish and chips, Parmesan fries and we also had burgers and nachos. Good selection of beer and a full bar. Watched several diff college football games too. Recommend to any friends.

As the other reviewers noted, you don't expect such a great find to be at the end of a drive through the surrounding sketchy neighborhood, but it was delicious and the service was outstanding! My boyfriend and I were in Dubuque for the weekend, passing through on our way to an Iowa Cubs game. I had a jalapeno pepper jack burger with truffle fries, he had the buffalo chicken sandwich and we split an appetizer of fried pickles/squash/zucchini. It was all great, especially the parmesan truffle fries. Don't leave here without trying them. The bar has about 5 or 6 TV's, most of which were playing the Cubs game that was on when we were there (it's a Cubs bar with drink specials during the games). It offered a cozy environment and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or attentive. I'm certain next time we stop in Dubuque, we'll be stopping by the Copper Kettle!

Excellent meal. Excellent service. Excellent prices. Our server Renee was great. We started with the broasted chicken. Hot juicy. Perfectly seasoned. The only downside... They don't accept amex.

I've made two trips to The Copper Kettle recently. Once about three weeks ago and again last night. Holy smokes it was lights-out fantastic. First of all, the building and decor is simply stunning. It's beautifully decorated and has enough TVs about to where you can watch a sports game if it's on, but not so many as to slip into the sports bar category. It's clean, well lit, and, to be perfectly honest, must plain nicer to look at than 98% of the restaurants in Dubuque. Big, big thumbs up. But that wouldn't matter at all if the food was inedible. And the food is edible. Wow is it edible. I'm a lazy food orderer, which means once I find something I like on a menu, I go back to that, even at the expense of not finding other great items that I've yet to try. So while I cannot comment on the entire menu, I will say this: the parmesan truffle fries are worth your trip alone. You can get a side of them ($4, I think) or have your regular fries 'upgraded' for $1. It's worth the dollar; trust me on this. I've hat the PTF both times I was there, and both times I've nearly liked the plate when the fries were gone. My heavens. If french fries exist in heaven, they taste like this. The second thing I've had both times I've been there was the pulled-pork nachos. Hey...I like pulled pork. I like nachos. I'm from Arizona; I think most things taste better with jalapenos slathered on it. And this helping mass of food, just like the side of PTF, was simply fantastic. Big gobs of slow-cooked pork, pickled jalapenos, some tomatoes, a hit of citrus something or other, and a then-named-but-now-unremembered coating of a tasty cheese. Both the nachos and the PTF were so good the first time that I had them the during my second visit. And there were so good during my second visit that I may just have them again. But last night a wrench was thrown into the mix. My wife has the broasted chicken (she was a fan) and her father had the fish and chips (likewise, he was a fan). He also ordered a Scotch egg. I pause here to say that I have no idea what a Scotch egg is; an soft boiled egg, no doubt, and then wrapped in a kind of sausage, breaded perhaps, and then deep fried? (note the question mark; I have no idea what it was and in hindsight I should have stolen the menu). What I am certain of is that it was delicious. Wonderful. Must.Have.Again. And to top it off, our waitress was exceptionally pleasant last night (when it was the three of us) and more than accommodating a few weeks ago (when there were seven of us). So hooray to you, Copper Kettle. You get to big thumbs up from this diner, and a promise to be back for another Scotch egg, some more PTF, and, perhaps, an detour to try other appealing things on the menu.

Lots of TVs but better selection and quality than a sports bar. My salad was huge and delicious and the steak perfectly cooked. The dressing was a little bland though. It needed more vinegar and salt. My daughter's mac and cheese was very bland and floury. The fries were very tasty and so was the roasted chicken. I think thst the tempura veggies we got to start were too greasy. And you were suppose to dip them in mayo based sauces which was just overload. Good sized portions, attentive service and not a terrible wait for the food.

Parmesan truffle fries are brilliant! Burger tasty and moist, but a bit on the too-done (medium) side--hence the 4 stars. Very mellow on a spring Monday eve. Great service.
(4)Sandy B.
We went here for lunch because of the great Yelp reviews. Thank you yelpers for the great recommendation! Very pleased with the food and service. The kim chee and pork belly sandwich was awesome! This will be our go to place in Dubuque!!!
(5)Michael O.
Downtown location in residential area. Old brick building that has been modernized inside with big screen TVs. Watched the Packer/Bear game & Charger/Chief game side by side while eating. Eclectic menu. Had to try the Kimchee Pork Belly sandwich & their truffle fries with a potosi beer...bring an appetite... Large portions

Great food, great atmosphere! Highly recommend!! My husband and I were driving thru decided to stop for lunch. Used YELP and we found the Copper Kettle. Glad we did!
(5)Yi Y.
Scotch Egg+fully loaded Bloody Mary=lunch. You get a whole lot of salt, lots of veggies, protein, fat, carbs with a slight buzz. Heaven.
(4)Steve P.
Cool atmosphere. Delicious food. I had the pork chops and mashed. Good stuff. I'd definitely order it again. I'm just not a fan of sitting around a bunch of old people. They look at me funny.
(4)John V.
Great place. Nice staff. I had Kim Chee Braised Pork Belly sandwich with the parmesan fries. Food was really good at a very reasonable price. Liked the tap beer selection.
(4)Jeffrey C.
Thanks yelp... I'm from Massachusetts. Copper kettle was a delight, staff was awesome, and the cheddar burger was recommended and was excellent. What a great lunch find while traveling through Dubuque
(5)Margaret R.
Nice place, good vibe, bar food but interesting and good quality. We had the steak salad and nachos; bith were good. As noted, it's busy and service is slow. It's also incredibly loud; hard to have a conversation when it's full. The interior is beautifully redone but still has the feel of the old place--love the tin ceiling and walls.
(4)Marion R.
Amazing food and great atmosphere. Kid friendly too. Beautiful bar. Loved the poutine appetizer and muffuletta sandwich. Had the truffle fries too. Big enough serving to take home some for later! Found this spot on yelp on vacation and highly recommend to others!
(5)Wesley P.
We stopped in over the weekend for an early dinner. I had the steak with garlic mashed which was fantastic. You can tell the chefs take great care in the meals they prepare. Our waitress was great, she really took good care of us......can't wait to go back.

Stopped in quick for lunch based on the other reviews and they were spot on. Sat and had lunch at the bar. Quick service, food was great- the Home made chips are awesome. Would also be a good place to catch a game. Nice led tvs on the walls.
(5)Susan N.
Historic building. Great beer selection. Welcoming and capable staff . Wonderful selection of foods on the menu which were prepared perfectly. Pulled pork sandwich melted like butter. Burger was grilled to perfection. Would definitely recommend.

bacon biue cheese burger wad amazing. Potine was Excellent. Wife loved the scotched egg. Lost of beer choices. Our server Tiffany was wonderful and excited about the menu. Will definitely return.

Reserved the party room for 25 people from Cedar Rapids to have lunch in between soccer games. Everyone loved the food, drinks were very affordable, the service was good, and food arrived petty fast. The scotch egg is a must have appetizer. Many people said they would drive from CR just to eat there again! Cheddar burger, fish & chips, and fried chicken were all excellent.
(4)Jim H.
Seriously, you just can not go wrong with the warm muffuletta sandwich and a cold beer. As Tony the Tiger used to say "It's GREEEEAAAAT!!!!" . . . . and yes, I know I am dating myself a little by using a reference to Tony the Tiger!!!
(5)Jon K.
Visited on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. The place was busy, but still has some tables open. I had the daily special, which was a fried fish sandwich with coleslaw on the sandwich. It was FANTASTIC! The coleslaw made it for sure! Service was really good, and the atmosphere was really nice. I would recommend!
(4)Derek E.
Food is great! The scotch egg and the kim chee pork belly sammich are the best. The chefs are great, but the servers are really slow.
(4)Ernest A.
We went to the copper kettle to watch Monday Night Football and we were really impressed with all the TV's and the atmosphere was just awesome! We ordered the pulled pork nachos and couldn't finish them, pork was amazing! They also have the best wings I have ever had. Beer selection is outstanding. If you are looking to watch a sporting event or an upscale place to eat this is the spot.
(5)Kate S.
Wanted someplace different for a mid Sunday afternoon meal. Service was acceptable, a large group was there and it was an off time, so I'm sure she was busy. Food was excellent. I would call it moderate priced for Dubuque. Had the cheddar burger and truffle fries, husband had the chicken sandwich with wing sauce. Would recommend everything we ate. Will go back again, there were many things I wanted to try. Atmosphere is a nice departure from other Dubuque restaurants.
(5)Cindy H.
This was an unexpected gem in the middle of nowhere. Nice atmosphere, good service and good food. The Muffaletta (sp?) was very good, but I left the olive salad off b/c I can't stand olives. I only gave 4 stars b/c I paid extra for the truffle parmesan fries, and they were lukewarm. My husband got the jalapeño burger, and he was happy with it. He is very picky about the beef and he said it was good. We would return.

What an amazing find in Dubuque! The Copper Kettle is a fun, hip restaurant with a stylish retro-modern build out and a delightfully eclectic menu. Scotch eggs as an appetizer? Never seen that before. Parmesan and truffle fries? Who does that? And in Dubuque, Iowa even? I ordered the muffaletta sandwich which turned out to be one of the best I've ever had. Next time, I'm going for the kimchi pulled pork. Service was a bit slow, but the room was busy so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt but I will be looking for them to step it up on my next visit. Good job!
(4)Dan L.
I've been there 3 times in the past couple months. Service is a bit slow, but they've been busy every time I've been in. On the atmosphere, it's attractively decorated, clean, cozy (only about a dozen tables and a small bar), and well-lit. The feel is hip, but I'd certainly feel comfortable watching the game or bringing the family. Overall, much nicer than most restaurants in Dubuque (and the ones that are nicer are much more expensive). On the food, the menu is eclectic and is executed well by the kitchen. I actually think the appetizers to be more interesting than the entrees, with an odd, yet tasty selection of "bar food", with poutine, scotch eggs, and pulled pork nachos on the list along with more traditional fare. I've yet to have a bad item on the menu, though I've been limited on my choice of entrees since I've found items I really like. I'm tied on my favorites between the bacon blue cheese burger and the poutine (french fries with gravy and cheese). The combination of the bacon and blue cheese is excellent, but the addition of the soft egg puts it over the top for me. The scotch egg is excellent as well, first time I've had them with a soft yolk. My wife ordered the walnut encrusted salmon the last time we were there, it was very good. I plan to try the pulled pork nachos the next time we're in. They don't have a parking lot, so realize you'll be parking on the street. As far as drinks go, they didn't have much selection on tap as far as beer goes, so that's an area they can improve. Overall: A great addition to Dubuque!
(5)Jim C.
Two out-of-owners happened on to this place last week. What a gem! Ryan and his staff do an unbelievable job of adding unreal flavor profiles to old time favorites. The pork belly sandwich with Kim chi, the scotch egg with mustard, fish and chips in an awesome light batter. His food has more layering than Mario Batali's sweater vest!! I will go back there every time I go to Dubuque!! Great job Ryan! Jim and Bob
(5)Mike B.
Good food. Good atmosphere with big screen TV's. Well maintained and a clean restaurant. Food may take a little longer but it is well worth the wait because it tastes freshly prepared and served hot. I had the Cuban pork belly sandwich w/fries and it was tasty. Only regret is that they were out of the parm. fries. Oh yeah, the Scottish egg was delicious. Reasonable prices. I will return upon my next visit to Dubuque.
(5)Don P.
Food was excellent, service a bust. Maybe they just have to get their feet on the ground. Staff standing all around but it takes 55 minutes to get a sandwich. Fortunately it's worth the wait (I think).
(3)rachel b.
As good as it gets in Dubuque! I loved my lunch and the restaurant is clean and modern. The server was a delight and it was SUPER busy. She was quick and friendly and our food came out fast, too! I had the BLT and some French onion soup. The next time, I might ask for light mayo or the mayon on the side, since they are a little heavy handed with it, but it was tasty and I needed some delicious lunch after having a hard time finding just the right thing for lunch. Good job, Copper Kettle! I'm coming back for some Poutine before I leave town!
(4)Adam M.
I took the family here a few weeks ago to celebrate a family event. Was kind of nervous taking two little kids there because they can be picky eaters. The kids absolutely loved the place! The rest of the family was raving about the fresh choices on the menu. Awesome attentive service. The prices are very reasonable considering both portion size and the freshness of the food.
(5)Kevin J.
In town for the first time and went here based on other Yelpers. The puotine was very good though a little salty. Burger, salmon and the pork belly sandwich were all good. Salad dressings were very good. Chips side was excellent. Great service reasonable pricing. Loved the atmosphere.
(4)Irving D.
Went here to have a nice meal and the place was packed. Nonetheless the staff was able to provide high quality in service.
