Buddy's clubhouse is the best forgotten place in Dubuque. People just forget about it. Buddy cuts his own meat and the prices are so fair. I got a big cut rib eye and it was $17.00 and it melted in you mouth. The hash browns are like nobody else's. There Cod is the best around. The drinks are reasonable and mixers are made so you actually get booze. This is a must go to if your in Dubuque IA

My wife and another couple were in the Dubuque area for a mini vacation. We always look at Yelp to get ideas as to where we would like to dine. Buddy's Clubhouse always seemed to be our choice after reading other reviews. We were not disappointed, Buddy and his employees were very friendly to us. Buddy went out of his way to make a Tom & Jerry for my sister. She really appreciated the special attention given. We ordered ribs (Buddy's favorite) and the other couple ordered steaks. The meat fell off of the bones and the steaks were just as tender. We will make Buddy's our stop whenever we are in the Dubuque area.

The wife and I just took our 11 and 12 year old boys here after playing at the Grand Harbor Resort. We chose this place because of the many great reviews on Yelp and elsewhere. I'm glad we did! The prime rib was delicious. The soup and salad bar was small, but fresh and clean. There were trains running around on a ledge about a foot from the ceiling. They loaded some candy on one of the cars and launched it to our boys after they finished their dinner. They were also given cups of ice cream. Overall we would return for sure. Oh yeah..There are many homemade items including the honey mustard sauce which was delicious! The interior is pretty small, but quaint and hospitable! It is in an older neighborhood that being from the Chicago area made me nervous, but it seemed to be the opposite of that. Older neighborhood, but super friendly people.

My husband and I stopped in Buddy's Clubhouse over the holidays. Growing up in Dubuque, our family had many wonderful dinners and times at this place. It was a time when the neighborhood bar was appreciated. Stepping into Buddy's brought back many great memories and having the chance to chat with Buddy himself was a pleasure! We didn't have the opportunity to have dinner this time, but we did enjoy fantastic drinks and conversation. Everyone was so nice and it was great to see the train still making the rounds. I hope this place sticks around and we can enjoy dinner next time!

I've been coming to Buddy's since I was a little girl. It's a place that holds many memories for me. It's family friendly and the food is excellent. The menu is fairly priced with quite a few options. The soup of the day is always homemade and always tastes great. While you're there be sure to ask Buddy if you can play the win a free drink game. And order an Old Fashioned Southern Comfort with a cherry or a Bloody Mary with a homemade horseradish pickle. Don't forget to buy a styrofoam coozie before you leave!

When you walk in be prepared for 1970 decor, however it is absoulutley clean, Excellent service and food. The pricing is from the 1990's. Most dinners include a salad bar just the basics but all home made and freshly stocked, bleu cheese dressing was so thick, with big chuncks of bleu cheese, what a great concept. Prime rib on Saturday was the best I have ever had, and I am over 50! I have lived in Dubuque all my life, and have heard about this place, just never wanted to go to that end of town. Believe me it was worth the trip. I will be a repeat customer.

Super friendly and really aim to please! If you are looking for a good old fashioned bar and grill, this is the place. Buddy, his wife and the employees are genuinely happy to see you and go out of their way to make sure you're happy. I almost didn't go in because the neighborhood looked a tad "iffy" but it's totally OK! Glad I went. Great food...more than you can eat and a good amount of friendly banter. Will be going back next time I'm in town!
