Have eaten here since the 80's and love it. Definitely in my top 5 for metro pizza joints. We love to get a pizza with roast beef on it here. Yes, you read it right, roast beef! Never have had a bad experience here my entire life. Good food, good prices - ya can't beat that! Now if someone would just fix their entrance in from E. 14th.....been bad for as long as I can remember!

They have okay pizza, it's good but not great. The pizza has a thinner crust which is my fav style, but it didn't pack that wow flavor for me. This place does get a lot of favorable praise so I expected a lot more. Pizza fans you can give this one a try, see how it stacks up to the rest of Des Moines.

Best kept secret pizza place in Des moines. Its like your mom opened this place. A warm homey atmosphere with a charming waitstaff( she was like my favorite aunt) and the food was amazing! Way better than Scorno's South. We ordered a half and half scorno's combo and luau. The pizza was crisp and grease free. The veggies popped with flavor and the sausage had just enough heat to make any other pizza obsolete. The pineapple and ham melded together in a wonderful, slightly sweet taste. Tasted homemade but better. We were waited on by a woman who treated us like returning friends and never left us wanting. Oh and the place was empty. EMPTY. So it was quiet and comfortable. Eat here. Bask in euphoria. Brag to your friends that you found a secret gem.

The owner was friendly. The food tasted great. My only complaint was that the prices were to high for the portions. 2 adults and 3 smaller kids spent over $65 and we all left hungry. If I return it will be without the kids. That way I can spend the same amount of money, but actually get filled up.

I'll admit I'm a sucker for the Midwestern-style pizza. That wonderfully thin crust is heaven in a slice. I don't have a lot of local comparisons for Scornovacca's - maybe all of Des Moines' pizza is this great - but everything from the heavily-spiced sauce to the nice browning of the cheese to that crispy, crispy crust was a breath of fresh air. It was also a killer dinner.

This is some of the best pizza I've ever had! Very tasty. Check out their sausage pizza - you'll love it. I take my family to Scornovacca's North every week or two. Can't get enough!

I've never been so underwhelmed in my life. Bland, frozen onion rings, greasy, shitty pizza, decor straight out of the 80's, dust everywhere... I seriously don't know how this place survives. It's been 10 years since I've had scornos south and it was way better than this hole. And only in Des Moines will you find Asians making pizza, and Mexicans making Chinese food...

We pick up pizza & onion rings from here at least once a month. I can't honestly say I've tried anything else because this is my husband & son's favorite pizza spot. They love the all meat & I enjoy the combo. I will say sometimes it can be problematic to place a to go order over the phone when the gentleman who doesn't speak English very well is answering the phone but this is America. I dislike the reviews slamming this establishment for being an equal opportunity employer. Overall every time I've been there the staff has been welcoming, the food has been good & yes we are completely addicted to the sugar cookies.
