I don't understand. Why don't we have Cracker Barrels in San Diego?? I DON'T WANT ANY MORE FROZEN YOGURT PLACE. GIMME A CRACKER BARREEEELL. Sorry, I had to shout that out. This was the first Cracker Barrel I've eaten at, as I was in the middle of my roadtrip to Chicago. I had their lemon baked trout, with some dumplings and potatoes. Delicious. I loooove American comfort food!! Price is reasonable, and the environment is fantastic!! Not to mention the staff are friendly. Especially the ladies at the front store :) I guess my only problem about this place is the location. You can see it from the freeway, but you have to drive around a motel and everything to get here. We actually got lost tried to get here because the streets are tricky. Beware!

Recently ate here on a Monday. 3 servers to take care of one large room. Friendly Server greeted us; brought no water, no silverware ;took order and drink order. long wait for food still no silverware. Had to ask for it! Food was cold, eggs cold, hash browns cold, husband had to ask for salad , extra napkins and jelly! unpleasant experience .

I had Cracker Barrel to go and was pleasantly surprised. My meal was ready in a timely manner. I ate the Meatloaf platter. The food was delicious and they thought of everything I would need without me asking. Will definitely use that service again!

We recently ate here for breakfast. My chicken fried steak was great, however my biscuits were rock hard, my over easy eggs were fried hard, and the hash browns were undercooked. They only gave you a small little bottle of syrup and little packet of honey, which was not enough. Waitress did a good job.

Went hungry for a comfort meal... Ordered chicken fried chicken, after taking ten minutes to be seated because the two young hostesses were too busy chatting, chicken and mashed potatoes had a very small amount (size of a 50 cent piece) of gravy. Waitress did bring me a dish of extra gravy. Also had to wait for utensils as our food cooled. Corn muffins could have been used in a hockey game. Overall food was ok not worth out of the way trip we made to get there...service was not great...won't be making that trip again.

Excellent service. Biscuits definitely not as good as they used to be. I think they must come from a box or Sam's club. Muffins were so hard I was hitting them with a knife but couldn't crack the muffin. These two used to be good now they are just nasty.

I would not return to this Cracker Barrel. Poor service, ridiculously small kid meal portions, a hair in my sandwich - none of which was rectified because nobody ever asked us if we liked the food or if we needed anything after our long wait for the food. Furthermore, the bathrooms were gross and the floor of the dining room was covered in food! Gross. If I could give it 0 I would.

This restaurant is just off Brady street south of I-80 nestled around a group of hotels making it very convenient to eat here. However, the service was excellent and the food arrived right away. I had two meals here- one, chicken and dumplings and two, meatloaf. Both were good. One thing I really like is that your bill arrives right after your food. No waiting an extra 30 minutes. I would certainly eat here again the next time I am in Davenport.

Was very excited to go check out my very first Cracker Barrel... and was surprised to walk in and see a country store! They sell all sorts of knock knacks and trinkets and old time candies and snacks. Great for a peruse, but we were there for brunch and didn't buy anything at the store. I tried to go for a healthier breakfast by ordering the Good Morning Breakfast: 2 eggs sunny-side up, turkey bacon, tomato slices, cheese grits, and fruit cup. The original menu item stated eggbeaters, but the waitress asked if I wanted regular eggs instead, so I said yeah. Then she asked if I wanted regular sausage, bacon, turkey sausage, bacon, etc. and I was a bit surprised that if I could have ordered all the regular stuff, then what was the point of a "healthy" meal? I actually wanted my eggs cooked a bit more and was not expecting my eggs to be so runny, so perhaps I had ordered them the wrong way. Maybe over easy, well done was the way to go? The turkey bacon was really salty, as was the cheese grits--which also had a spicy kick. The fruit cup contained fresh pineapple and blueberries, but the fruit wasn't really ripe yet. I was a bit disappointed in my breakfast, as I had expected it to be better. Perhaps it was my fault for trying to get a healthier menu item. Next time I should just go for the pancakes and biscuits and gravy or buttermilk fried chicken or something. My green tea was nice though, and it came with a little packet of pure honey, a wedge of lemon, and an extra pot of hot water, enough to make about 1.5 more cups of tea. So good prices for the quantity of food, but perhaps go for the traditional favorites instead of the healthier menu for better taste. They had free samples of Jelly Belly at the cashier, and I happily munched on a sour apple and butter popcorn jelly beans on my way out the door. :)

For many years Cracker Barrel has been our favorite breakfast spot when on the road because of the quality of the food and the service has always been good to excellent. My wife and I stopped here on July 20th at about 7:30 am and unfortunately this location has failed miserably. The service was fine but our breakfast was bad, bad, bad. Had it not been for the fact that we needed to get back on the road we would have sent it back. The over medium eggs were over done and the taters looked and tasted like they had been on the grill for an hour. I don't know what the problem may have been back in the kitchen but it was inexcusable. I don't write reviews often but the disappointment was such that this one just had to be written.

Slowest service ever. I've been now 5 times since staying at hotel near by for weeks and I must say I keep waiting for a good experience. They refuse to substitute meat side item for a different side item like sliced apples or cole slaw. So much for equal rights for vegetarians. So much for helping confined animals. Anyway. That's all.

I travel a bunch for work and have eaten at many cracker barrels throughout the States and this is my 'go to' food when I'm craving breakfast, or just want get off the highway and relax for a bite to eat. Not sure if possibly Cracker Barrel as a company is changing things, this location isn't up to snuff or maybe I just came in at the wrong time, but this was definitely not the usual experience I have with Cracker Barrel restaurants. I arrived about 1 in the afternoon and was worried there would be a crowd eating lunch, but the restaurant was fairly dead at this time. Not many people were seated in the area I was in, however there Manager of this location and 2 other people were seated in my section with their headsets on and chatting. There were 2 servers working the few table in this area (maybe 4 tables each), and the service was super slow. I didn't think the servers needed more assistance, but when you are waiting to order, waiting for your beverage and waiting for your food it is a bit maddening to see the employees sitting around eating, drinking and laughing when the guests at the restaurant are waiting forever to get their food... Maybe they manager and the other two were taking a break after a lunch rush or something, but I can't figure out why it took about 20 minutes to get my water and another 25 minutes to get my food with about 8 to 10 tables in the entire restaurant. When my food came (I ordered breakfast) 2 or the 3 pancakes were burnt and one was white and barely cooked. Burnt to the point that when you took a bite you could actually taste the 'char'. I ordered eggs over easy and there was no yolk to be found. I tried their regular breakfast sausage which were 2 of tiniest silver dollar size patties that I have ever seen and unfortunately they were really pink and tasted funky. Not sure if the somebody screwed up and gave me a turkey sausage or something vegan or what - but these were truly the worst examples of sausage I have ever had. When I went to leave there was no wait at the front counter to pay my bill, but I was starting to walk out when the lady at the front counter yelled to stop me. Apparently even though my credit card receipt printed out and was signed that there was a problem with their computer (or the magnetic strip on my card) and she ended up running it 2 more times. She assured me I would not have multiple charges on my account (I have checked my credit card and I did only get charged once), however after probably the worst breakfast I have ever had, this was just another thing to add to my bad experience here. I hope this was just a one time bad experience, because I usually love Cracker Barrel and their breakfast food. I will definitely give this chain one more shot to find out if this was a one time thing.

I always have consistently great food and service here. I always stop either coming or going on I-80 when visiting my family in Iowa. I have NEVER had to wait here, the service is top notch and the food is a great value.

What can I say? It's your standard Cracker Barrel restaurant. It's in an odd location if you ask me... I know it is visible from the highway, but I honestly think if it weren't for that, this location would stink! You have to hunt for the sideroad that leads to it... I love the store. Lots of fun and random stuff for sale. I WANT those rockers on the porch that they sell. But... I digress... we came for the food. The only thing I've ever ordered at any Cracker Barrel I've visited has been breakfast... They serve it all day, which is awesome, since I love eating breakfast at any time of the day. The food is exactly what I want it to be: a good old fashioned artery-clogging breakfast. My criticisms (at least with regards to my visit to this specific location): We sat at a table that had just been cleaned off. Too bad they didn't bother to clean the chairs or under the table. My kids love the peg games that they often have at the tables... kinda a bummer that ours was missing pieces... but then, when the table next to us left, we swapped ours out. That worked. The food was slooooooow. The service was good, but the kitchen must have been slacking, cuz I've NEVER had such slow service that I can recall. Granted, the place was packed, but I'd have to hope that a place like this is used to having a crowd. Nonetheless... I'd happily visit again, despite my 3-star rating. Let's face it... despite a dirty table and slow delivery of food, it's still a great country breakfast.

I've been here a few times. They are good for your good ol' home cookin'. I doubt any of it is really healthy, but it does taste good! It's a very cozy, homey atmosphere with great service and some pretty good food. The other half of the place is a cute little store with toys, candies, and other goodies. It's a fun place to try out.

The marketing and delivery of Cracker Barrel fascinates me and I love to go there just to see their flair. As someone who tries to eat health, you wouldn't expect me eating at cracker barrel, but on long road trips I do because they have enough items that do not have gluten in them that I can get by, and they do have great ham. I have been to Cracker Barrels before that have been willing to give me side vegetables for breakfast, but this one was not, in fact the waitress wasn't even willing to check. I know they have them, so what is so hard about serving them for breakfast?

This was my first visit to cracker barrel considering they only seem to have them in the middle and southern states. I've heard a lot of good things before about this restaurant and I was actually really excited to go here. To start cracker barrel is a really cool place, one half is the restaurant and the other half is a really cool shop with things like candy, toys for kids, garden decorations, collectable items and even baking/cooking accessories. The restaurant itself is country themed, and the outside of cracker barrel is lined with rocking chairs of all styles for sale. We had a party of 12 so we were seated at two tables for 6. We were given one waitress for each table and they didn't hesitate to take our drinks and orders in a timely manner. Which is one of the most important parts in eating at a restaurant. I ordered a breakfast plate consisting of strawberry's, a cup of blueberries, a small bowl of yogurt topped with granola and a blueberry muffin. I ate everything on the plate and the blueberry muffin that was baked fresh that morning was delicious. I do wish it had crumbles on top, I think that would have made it a 5 star muffin. The fruit tasted very fresh and made the perfect marriage with the muffin and yogurt. The other people at the table seemed to really enjoy their meals. We were all given a plate of corn bread and biscuits. The corn bread was not sweet at all, and I don't really like corn bread anyway so I only tried it. The biscuit however was heavenly and would have gone great with the pot pie my boyfriend ordered. I didn't try that on account of me being a vegetarian. The one thing I saw that could have been improved was the kids meals. They seemed very dinky and the kids were complaining of still being hungry after their plates were cleared. We were here for brunch so it wasn't the right time for dessert, but I did sneak a peak at the dessert menu anyway. Everything on the menu was something you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else and the pictures of the desserts looks heavenly as well. Over all this is a really great place to eat, great for groups and fun for kids. I would defiantly be willing to come back for round two if we run into another cracker barrel =)
