Today was my second time visiting Cellar 19. The first time I had the Cajun Roast Beef Melt, potato salad, and a pickle. It was delicious! No skimpy sandwich here! Plenty of meat and toppings. Today I ordered the Lola: turkey, cream cheese, cucumbers, lettuce, on a baguette. Baguette was a little tough, but hey... It's a baguette. First bite? Amazing! Perfect for this hot summer day. The macaroni salad is pretty refreshing also. This isn't your everyday, ordinary, sandwich place. Cellar 19 is a hidden gem. Staff is always pleasant and the atmosphere is amazing as well. I can't wait to attend one of the wine/beer tasting events soon!

The staff here is Awesome! They were friendly and welcoming. They helped us with our selection. Too bad we came in the middle of the afternoon we would've loved to have tasted the wine. Instead we had the pastrami sandwiches with potato salad and cucumber salad. The sandwiches were good and hit the spot. The salads needed a little bit of seasoning to them. Kind of bland. Overall everything was good. They have outdoor seating which was also a delight because the weather was perfect that day.

I visited Cellar 19, because it had the highest reviews in Council Bluffs. Unfortunately, it was an underwhelming experience. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I saw that they had a complimentary wine tasting which I thought was awesome! Also, they had the appetizers for 50% off! Off to a great start. I see nachos on the menu so, I order those. The nachos are supposed to have black beans, but when I received them, no black beans. When I asked why, my server explained how the beans made the nachos soggy and people picked them off the plate. My thought was: if changing the menu is too expensive, why not just inform the person who orders nachos that they do not put black beans on the nachos? Also, the nachos featured "queso". I asked what kind of queso it was, because it tasted like it was purchased from Kroger. You know that liquid cheese in the refrigerator section that you can heat in the microwave. It was plain gross. When I asked what kind it was, the server informed me it comes from their distributor in a frozen bag. They simply heat it up and add Rotel. YUCK! Thankfully, the server did not charge me for the nachos. Other than the nasty food, the service was ok and the ambiance of the restaurant was nice. Maybe a deli sandwich would have been a better choice, but I don't envision eating a sandwich with a glass of wine. Overall, a nice place for a glass of wine. I can't vouch for the food.

Decided to give this place another shot since I heard ownership had changed hands. Overall it was a much better experience. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with pasta salad and a cup of philly cheesesteak soup. The sandwich was delicious. Thick sliced pastrami and a great horseradish sauce. The pasta salad was full of big chunks of cheese which looked great but honestly it had no flavor. The soup was bland also but after some salt and pepper it was very good. I will return to try some of their other specials. Check their facebook page for daily updates.

Cellar 19 is one of my favorite places to eat in Council Bluffs. The artichoke dip is absolutely wonderful, a wonderful starter. My sandwich of choice is generally the pastrami, they have plenty of meat and the horseradish adds a bit of a kick. I've also enjoyed the Lola, Cajun roast beef, chicken cordon blue, and the Jay's Gouda. Their sides are fantastic; the Asian slaw is top notch and they have the best macaroni salad. The wine list is also great, very diverse. You're also able to buy a bottle to take home.

19 different sandwiches, hence the name. I have tried half of them and I like them all. The antipasto is awesome. The lunch specials are usually good. My favorite is the egg salad. Yeah, I know what I just said. :) Selection of wine is nice and if you don't like wine there is a small selection of beer but I can always find something that I like. It is well worth visiting.

Great sandwiches and good wine selection. Location in a strip mall leaves a little to be desired, ugly suburban parking lot as the only outdoor seating view.

Cellar 19 is a pretty good sandwich and wine shop. The staff was really nice and helpful on choosing a sandwich for a first time diner. I had Jay's Gouda and it was good. The ingredients were fresh and very tasty. They also have specials on certain beers and they had bottled of hard ciders when I was there, (cannot, for the life of me, remember the name), for only $2; which is great for a bottled hard cider. So I had a couple and they were great. All in all, the sandwich was good, the drink special was nice, but nothing really WOW'd me. The ambiance was dim and intimate, which is fine, and the food was just good. Not sure if I'll be going back or not.

This is one of the favorite places around the office. There are not many places you can get a great sandwich deli sandwich in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. Great service & a nice wine selection. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They have also catered a few lunches at work, the quality is just as good as an in-restaurant experience.

Our servers were great. Thanks Tracy and ??? My ham n cheese on a pretzel bun was very cheesey but the pretzel bus was soft n good. Starting off with bruchetta excellent choice. The bread slices weren't too crispy and the combination of tomato, garlic and onion were well balanced. I always enjoy fresh fruit salad. Made new every day. The cucumber salad was a bit peppery but the veggies were crisp. Nice calm atmosphere

We hit up Cellar 19 as we were passing through Iowa/Nebraska, heading home to Colorado. We wanted some better-quality food than McDonald's and the other standard fare you get while on the road. We arrived as soon as they opened and ordered a Cajun roast beef sandwich, a turkey and avocado sandwich and a BLT. The sides looked delightful. We ordered the macaroni and potato salads, respectively. The sandwiches were a far sight better than what I'd get at Mickey D's, but they didn't blow our socks off. They were just OK. The sides were better than the sandwiches. I took note, of course, of the wonderful wine selection. If I lived in the area I'd definitely pop in for happy hour cocktails and some appetizers. We travel to the Midwest by car a lot, and I'll stop in again to give it another shot. When I do, I'll update!

I can't really justify less than 5 stars here, I wanted to because that should be like reserved or special or something. The fact is this little gem deserves it. Every week I drive to CB and play golf and a trusted friend (turned me on to Workers Takeout) told me about Cellar 19. I got a sammich to go and it was unfreakinbelievable!!!!!!!The next week another sammich, same result!! The staff are friendly and enthusiastic and they build a takeout meal the likes of which you are unlikely to find in CB or Okieha or anywhere else a poor midwestern boy is likely to frequent. It may be located behind a dying mall but you owe it to yourself to check this one out!!!!!

I grew up in Council Bluffs, and Cellar 19 is by FAR my absolute favorite place to eat. The venue is charming, filled with local paintings done by artists all over the walls (which you can purchase). The food is amazing. Every item on the menu is nothing short of a masterpiece. The BLT is my all-time favorite sandwich---you haven't had a BLT until you've eaten one at Cellar 19. I also love their caesar salads, pasta salad, and their artichoke dip. Plus they have a large wine selection. You have to eat there!!

Wow! What a great little stop on our tour of Iowa for excellent ruben sandwich. The veggie option (a veggie crisp sandwich) was deemed fine by our token veggie (sorry, Harry :). Side salads were competent. Everything was fresh. Order at the counter, the place is not huge so they can remember you and find you when your food comes up. Would definitely stop here again. A stand out from the fast food chains that seem to permeate this town. Word of caution about nearby airport signs: they do not lead to Eppley!

Lovely little place - it's definitely a place to visit for out-of-towners. The bartender Alex is fantastic! He's never made me a drink that I didn't love.

Really great place run by very cool local owners who are pretty knowledgable about wine. Agree that the soda machine is a bit of an eyesore for a place that is otherwise very asthetically pleasing, and a fun place to have a drink. The appetizers are top shelf, and they have a good selection of beer/wine/liquor. One of the best places in the area to meet for drinks after work.

This locally owned restaurant is half New York deli and half trendy wine bar. It's a little odd, because it's not really one or the other, but the lunch here was tasty, and I wouldn't mind stopping by in the evening for a glass of wine. The huge soda (pop) machine on the counter was an eye sore, and seperated the deli from the wine bar area.
