Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

If you're a foodie Z'mariks will be diz'appointing. First ever visit and maybe I was expecting Noodles & Company. ORDERED: z'thai stir fry (broccoli, carrots, snap peas, roasted peanuts sauteed in spicy peanut sauce over cilantro-lime rice), z'garden salad (fresh mixed greens decorated with tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, croutons, chose ranch dressing), Rice Crispy with chocolate. TASTED: The stir fry was sad. Take a $3 bottle of store brand stir fry sauce and add it to some plain rice and a few frozen vegetables, that's what it's like. The cilantro-lime rice tasted of neither. Noodles and even a Lean Cuisine are superior. The salad was okay but something one could make out of fridge leftovers. The redeeming item was the rice crispy bar. My girlfriend complained her pasta dish contained little broccoli. The interior is nice with vintage Italian pasta posters and the service was friendly. The food however misses z'mark.

Great service and great food . I had the Greek salad and Pesto pasta, both were surprisingly authentic and it taste way better than some other restaurants for half the price. The food comes out really fast too. Good for quick lunch and dinner.

Z'mariks Noodle Café is a great place to stop and enjoy lunch. It's a laid back atmosphere with affordable prices. The restaurant is very similar to a Noodles and Company, but the food is higher quality and the dishes are more exotic combinations. I recommend the buffalo mac and cheese.

I ordered the zpesto noodle bowl and added shrimp. It was nothing special. The shrimp was cooked already instead of raw because it was so tough. I only continued to eat it because I only had 10 minutes left of lunch break. Don't order the shrimp!

Perfect for a quick bite of fresh food. We had a couple of greek salads. They were timely and delicious.

My wife and I love this place. It's too bad it's way out in West Des Moines! You can taste the quality ingredients they use. It's absolutely delicious. The food is always served hot, and for the price, you get a good amount. It actually has a good amount of seating but it fills up very quickly. If I'm in West Des Moines, this is truly the only restaurant I want to go to. Most everything else in this area is low quality and pretentious.

I've been a few times and every time I've ordered something different, they haven't disappointed me yet. Good place

I though it was more of an Asian place but was surprised to see it wasn't really that. It is more of fusion, and their pasta was great.

This is a good place that is usually (not always) quick and consistent with the quality of their food. Get the Boulevard Beer cheese soup.

I am super fond of this place! Clean atmosphere, clean restrooms, fast service, and fresh, tasty food! I have frequented this location dozens of times and have no complaints.

Every time I come here the food is always spot on. They do such a great job at making sure they have constancy with the items they make. They really don't have appetizers. They have beer, milk, juice, tea, and Pepsi products. It's mostly a variety of noodles in different ways on the menu. The specialty is the Mac. They have Italian, Chinese, Thai, and some other varieties of noodle style food. They also do soup and they also have salads. Saturdays the kids eat free. You can do half and half. Like half soup and half salad. My favorite is the original Mac with shrimp and feta cheese. It's a little more pricey to add the shrimp and feta but worth it. Also, in the fall the beer cheese soup is to die for. I've had the Thai peanut noodles. They are pretty spicy. Also I've had the buffalo Mac. They mix the noodles with the carrots and the crunchy onions and. It gives it this amazing crunch in every bite. Also a little spicy. Get a slice of bread to slop up the wonderful sauce and your in heaven. It's great comfort food at a good price and good lunch or a nice simple dinner.

Great menu. I have been here a bunch and have to say I have never had a bad dish. Food is always good and staff is super friendly. Z'mariks is definitely a spot I will continue to eat!

I have been to Z'mariks a handful of times now, both for lunch and dinner. My verdict is always the same. Is the food good, sure. Is it great, no. Lunch time always seems to be very busy and then dinner is much slower. I find myself struggling to find something I really want when I go. Half the time, I fall back on the Mac n cheese. Sure they are quick and editable, just not my favorite.

I prefer to support local restaurants over chains, but this is one example where local just can't compete, as the food and service at Z'mariks is far inferior, in my opinion, to what you can get at Noodles & Company for less money. I got the Udon bowl and it was limp and the vegetables were bland and soggy and the sauce was far too light. My wife got the Peanut noodles and they were similarly bland and boring. My children got the mac and cheese and it, too, was bland but more weirdly, there was a pile on unmelted shredded cheese dumped on top that was ice cold and made the whole dish lukewarm. For the price and location, we expected better and will stick with their chain competition going forward.

Great place to go for lunch quick. Unique items on the menu as well as some basics for the picky eater. You can get in and out and still have time to enjoy your food in an hour. Reasonably priced for what it is. I have been here several times and you can expect the same friendly service and quality food.

Me and the wife have been here quite a few times, with and without friends. It's our go to pasta place! We've enjoyed the super fast service, without the service part of having to wait. This place is right around the corner from us so it's a nice place to get out and eat. It's also nice to have a smaller portion. We easily get out with 2 meals for under $15 total with a drink. Would suggest to others for a quick easy meal.

I drive across the US and back about 11 times a year, so I'm always looking for good places that are quick and healthy, and this fits the bill. We all ordered a bowl and salads and everything was fresh and excellent. I appreciated the fact they were willing to adjust the ingredients on any of their menu items. Fresh brewed ice tea too. I'll stop back in next time I drive through.

This place is incredible! We have had nothing but good experiences here. The staff is very friendly and the food is fabulous. Heck we'd go there for their cookies alone! My favorite is the z'spicy peanut while my hubby enjoys the fajita rice bowl. We love this place for the price and the speed--being in and out of a place some times is the only way to go with a little one!! Our little one gobbled down the mac and cheese (and yes it's real and not like you are pay triple the price for a portion of Kraft).

Don't buy gift certificates here, you will never get to redeem them! The food is good, love the lemon sauté, service is quick, but the last 2 times (right now in fact) I have tried to redeem my GC the computer is down. It's the same excuse every time, our computers are not accepting gift certificates right now, sorry. So not only do they have my money from GC I also have to fork out additional money for my meal. This is not in my neighborhood so I make a special trip to come here so its a disappointment. The food is really good but the kids eat free Saturdays can be overwhelming if not prepared. I recommend, just make sure you bring cold hard cash!
