Excellent service, fantastic beer selection and had our food to us very quickly and accurately even when the place was packed

Somethings were better than others. I tried out the Texas Roadhouse on a business trip to Cedar Rapids. Since I was there with the evening crowd, I ate at the bar. I liked that I was greeted when I came in. I didn't like the look of disdain when I informed them that I was there by myself. Hmmmm I"m a business traveller with an expense account. You should be happy to see me. I also liked how the cuts of meat are displayed at the butchers window when you arrive. Again back at the bar. I had a friendly waitress, and met two fellow Canadians also there on business. We found out that I went to high school in the town over from where one of them was from. Small world. So a positiive, in my books. I ordered the prime rib with veggies and salad as my two sides. Both of those went over fine. I don't drink anything when I have to drive, so just soda this evening. I was a little disappointed with the prime rib. I had ordered it medium-rare. It showed up looking rare. Literally just a couple of mm's (1/16th of an inch) of the steak was brown. I don't send food back, unless its grossly wrong, since I have friends in food service who tell me the horror stories... I likely will not repeat.

Solid three. Typical American steakhouse. Everything is done well. Service is always good only drawback would be the ribs. They suck here. Boiled to death and then finished on grill. Mush. Everything else awesome.

This review regards my most recent experience at TRH. Not very impressed with the call-ahead seating procedure. Tried to call about an hour ahead, and were told to call back within 30 minutes of arrival. So I did that and called ahead for 6 people, asking for a table since we had 6 adults. Was told a booth would suffice, but I had my doubts. If you have 6 adults a booth is not the best option, ask for a table. On arrival was seated promptly, and drink order was taken promptly. Server was relatively polite. 6 people, were given one basket of bread. Caesar Salad was just ok, nothing special. Food arrived, I ordered the rib-eye and shrimp combo. The steak was just so-so, I've had better even at this TRH. Nobody else complained about their food or mentioned that it was wonderful. Asked for another basket of rolls, it never came. About midway through the meal, I couldn't find the server anywhere in the vicinity. It was a Thursday evening, and it was by no means crowded. So while the food was just OK, the service was lacking on this particular night.

WOW, what a difference from my last visit. Our Server Kelcie did a fantastic job. She was very attentive, her descriptors when taking the order were right on point. The food was excellent. I appreciate the turnaround. WOW, all I can say is WOW!!! Keep up the great work.

I've tried this place several times and they always mess something up. Very noisy environment and not very clean. One of my close friends found bugs in their food and manager was very rude. I have nothing nice to say, recommend to go somewhere else.

They have a great steakhouse salad. I enjoy their steaks and house salad too. Ribs are very good. I've eaten here many times. Almost always very busy. After 4pm you might want to use call ahead seating.

Love the food, don't like the call ahead. We used the call the call ahead and told them we needed a table, not a booth, for one in our party had a wheelchair. Didn't mind waiting, was upset that even when we got there, told them we needed a table, they still tried to stick us at a booth. Manager got informed and we waited longer and got the table. Need better people running the seating/call ahead. Why have our beeper go off, just to stand in the way of everybody going in and out, servers too, and wait even longer for table. Just have the beeper go off when table is ready and keep everyone out of the hallway!

Whoever the chef is here goes crazy with the salt; it's not like other Texas Roadhouse restaurants. I think they teach their cooks to put waaay to much seasoning on their food. The standard items that I order at other chain locations are inedible at this location. And if you don't like your food, your waiter doesn't really care because he has like a million other tables and the faster you leave, the faster he can get a tip from someone else.

Food is great as long as you don't order take out. There is an 80% chance something will be missing from your order.

Calling ahead to put your name in was definitely a good tip. When we called at 6:50 on a Saturday night it was estimated 55-65 minutes. We checked in at 7:50 and our number came up with 5 minutes. I just don't get why there's always a line here in the first place. It's just not very good and with plenty of great locally owned restaurants, why put up with the wait for a typical chain experience? Chains like this remind me of Disney World where people line up like lemmings for over-priced, tacky themed crap. No wonder they make fun of Americans in the rest of the world, we're suckers! I had the 8 oz. sirloin and thought it was pretty run of the mill and little favor. Ditto for the Caesar salad - pre-cut romaine lettuce right from the bag, a few croutons and Caesar dressing right out of the bottle. I'm sorry to say I wasn't even impressed with the bread which obviously isn't homemade. It looked like a brown 'n serve type of deal. If you want a decent steak and a genuine local experience (with genuine tackiness) I would suggest TJ's Steakhouse on 6th St. SW. You get an honest meal from people who own the place, little wait time and a great value. Or even better, for what your tab will come to at TRH, you could have a full dinner at Ced-Rel Supper Club and get a much better steak with all the trimmings in a real 60's style experience that isn't at all a chain store Disney fantasy.

The bread whipped butter is always my favorite way to kick off dinner here. Tonight I am having the house salad and the 6 oz Dallas filet and steak fries. It was consistently delicious and the service was good.

This isn't trying to compete with fancy steakhouses that cost a lot more, but I think it's a pretty good economical restaurant. The meat is always decently aged and quite tender, and their warm rolls with cinnamon honey butter are a big favorite with my daughter.

Every time I travel to this part of the country I always try to eat at Redneck Roadhouse. Compared to all the other cheapo steakhouse chains, they have by far the best steaks. Nice simple seasoning, salt & pepper. Good marbling on the ribeye, great texture for a Choice steak. Broiled, not fried, always a nice char on the steak. Cesar salad is OK, nothing to write home about. Same for the potato, although once I think I had the sweet potato and it was good. Service is a little over the top - I'm used to the understated service you get in LA. Here they ask you something every five seconds - yall need anything, yall want some mushrooms or onions, everything ok for yall, yall still doin good. As is typical in this part of the country, the steak was way overcooked. But even at Medium Well (I ordered Med-rare) it was still really juicy. So no need to send it back, and plus it's so cheap, it's really not worth it. Not Prime steaks, but I'll be honest, steaks at Redneck Roadhouse actually taste better in my opinion than Flemings or most of the Chop Houses out there. Not quite as good as the Palm, but again that's 28 day dry aged Prime beef and you're paying $70 bucks a plate. That said, Redneck Roadhouse is well worth the money. You can walk out of there stuffed for like $20 bucks! Side note - just like all the cheapo chains they don't take reservations. Save that hour of your life that you will never get back, and sit at the bar.

Normally I have never had problem in the last 10+ year of eating here, service has always been top notch. But today the ball was dropped. Our we got our steaks without getting our salads, my steak was ordered with onion and had none. Now when we brought it to there attention they did get us new steaks so we could finish our salads. Just not up to the same top notch service I am use to. It left me a little let down.

Had dinner at Texas Roadhouse for the 2nd time this week. Both times the food was either bland, not cooked to the temperature ordered, not prepared right, or tasted weird. For example, the blossom was not spicy like we expected, a med-well steak came out rare, and ceasar salads had way too much dressing. They provide a lot of food, but go somewhere else if you want good food, at least until they fix their kitchen issues and return to their former quality of food.

I'm not that hyped up about this place and I should really only give them one star but I like the bread so they get two. Its always busy in this place and yes its a steak joint people, I love meat but not enough to wait an hour when I know what I'm going to get, crappy service and a bad attitude from most of the people they and other ticked off people that are angry about the wait for bad service. My friends like going here I would rather grill out at my place then come here better steaks and no crappy service!

TRH is a chain. TRH is about fantasy (I especially like the Disneyland analogy). Having said that, it is a notch above average in spite of its chain status, hence the 4th star.. The food: The steaks are actually pretty good. The best I've ever had? No. Still good? Yes. I'm a big fan of the Porterhouse and Ribeye. The side dishes are merely acceptable. Not great, but not terrible. The service: Meh, a bit over the top. I don't like places where the person who delivers the food is not my server. Too easy to screw things up that way. Plus, it makes me feel less inclined to tip the server well because they're not... you know... actually serving. Calling ahead to save wait time is crucial. TRH is good, but not an hour wait good. The only place that good is, well... Disneyland. Prices: I don't think they're cheap at all, but after reading many reviewers on here, maybe I'm the one that is cheap. Overall: Better than the other steak chains in town. I want to try TJ's, but haven't yet.

Ok, let's get one thing clear: Texas Roadhouse is about fantasy. There's not a roadhouse anywhere near Cedar Rapids, but if you want to pretend you're in Texas, this is the place. Nothing wrong with that; I fall for the same stunt down at Famous Dave's. Thing is, I'm just not a big steak fan, so I'm biased. When I went with some friends this weekend, I ordered their half-rib platter, which was very good. I was pleasantly surprised. The sides seemed a little skimpy, but I can overlook that. Two friends ordered a pork chop, which was on the short side of tiny. The service was very good, and the pails of peanuts set the right mood. Like I said, if you like steak, you probably won't be disappointed.

Texas Roadhouse has FANTASTIC steak. Their bread is also delicious. My only complaint is that they are always SUPER busy so you can never get in without waiting and hour. CALL BEFORE YOU GO or you'll end up waiting forever.
