I love this place! Their coffee is great and the food is tasty! I like sitting by the fireplace and relaxing while drinking my coffee. The chairs near the fireplace could use some updating due to some tears, but other than that it is a great atmosphere.

This coffee house has wonderful customer service. I'm from the Pacific NW where coffee houses are on every corner, a Starbucks on every corner so good customer service is expected with strong coffee/excellent food/pastries at coffee houses. This place is expensive compared to other coffee houses. I would place the prices on par if not higher with Starbucks in town. I ordered a white chocolate cafe latte 16 oz and it was almost $5. And I had my own cup. I went here with my coworkers for a team meeting. The ambiance of Jave Creek Cafe is wonderful. It is clean (important) and has different size tables, lounging chairs, and couches. As my coworkers and I came into the coffee house, we were looking for a table that would fit 7 people. We saw a round table but it was occupied by two servers. One appeared to be completing some type of paperwork. The staff noticed we were looking for a table and offered their table to us. We thanked them but then noticed there were not enough chairs and all the other chairs in the coffee house had different level chairs which would not fit with the table. We found another table which was to say the least "comfy" since all 7 of us had to squeeze in. Our manager ordered a plate of cookies for us and it was presented by staff with 7 small serving plates. Very nice touch. My cafe latte was good though not as strong as I'm used to. The cookies were excellent and tasted fresh. Wonderful place. I highly recommend it. It's also in a great neighbhorhood by Bowman's Woods. That might be the reason for the prices being more expensive. I gave it 4 stars out of 5, minus 1 star for the high prices. Otherwise, wonderful place with great atmosphere and ambiance. I would avoid the bagels, I ordered one and it tasted like it was a week old. Looks like none of the other customers like the bagels either.

Great coffee spot! All choices on the food AND drink menu are delicious! My daughters enjoyed their outstanding frozen hot chocolate (best I have ever tasted). Highlight of going here is sitting by the fireplace.

From time to time, I make trips back to Iowa to see family and conduct business. Each time I go back, I try to experience something new that wasn't there before I moved to AZ. My last time back, Java Creek Cafe was my new place to try. I made a wise choice! I was pleasantly surprised by everything at Java Creek. The coffee isn't exactly the best I have encountered, but it was definitely tasty. The overall atmosphere was awesome, and probably my favorite thing about the place. From a nice fireplace setting, to a ton of menu options, to plenty of different seating choices for all of the various patrons (causal lunch crowd, IT folk doing work, friends catching up, college kids), to the music, Java Creek offers a great experience. While there, I was able to get some work done, enjoy of decent Mocha, play catch up with a friend and people watch a variety of different humans. I'll definitely make Java Creek a regular stop whenever I am back in Iowa, and have already recommended it to 10 locals before I left town. I'm glad to finally see a place like this in CR.

So good! Food was excellent. I loved the variety of gourmet offerings. Made me want to come back and try other things. Coffee brewed by the cup. Great concept. Wish we had a Java Creek Cafe in Oklahoma City!

First time here! Not a coffee drinker but like to try different lattes with the hope of finding one with little or no coffee taste. Kate was quite helpful & new am hooked on the Carmel toffee crunch with ONE shot of espresso! Atmosphere is quite nice for work or conversation with friends. Will be back to try lunch.

Coffee is so so. I tried the veggie panini- very disappointed. Won't be back. The prices are also a little high in my book too. If I want really good coffee and pastries on the north end of Cedar Rapids, I'll go to Roasters.

Great place to relax in the nice decor and good calming atmosphere. Nice coaches, lounges, chairs around the fireplace. Table areas with games and things as well. Free WiFi to bounce around on the web while slipping some caffeine into your system. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great drinks and options as well as sandwiches and bakery items etc. Also live music very often, check their site for who's playing and when.

What a wonderful place. The salads are a meal in themselves. The dessert treats and muffins are fantastic. Today I tried the smoothies...excellent. They play the right music at the right volume IMHP. Great atmosphere and free wifi. What more can you ask. A good combo between coffee shop and eating establishment.

I swing between here and Roasters, hanging out at one or the other place on thursday afternoons when trying to work on my sermon for the week. The coffee is great. I like the atmosphere too; especially the large booths in the bright out-doors feeling front room. As to the other things: I've tried some of the baked goods, and to be honest they're not so great. The other day I had a sandwich for lunch and while tasty the bread was way too crumbly. Plus, the place is a little pricey for the value. Personally, I think if you just stick with the coffee, the free wifi, and the general atmosphere, it's a good spot to get some work done away from the office.

So far this is my favorite coffee shop in Cedar Rapids. Each coffee is individually brewed, and the staff were very friendly. I was able to sit at a booth with my wife for a few hours studying, and really enjoyed the quiet relaxing music in the background. They also have internet and wi-fi for those that are interested.

I have been going to Java Creek for more than 2 years now and I must say one thing that keeps bringing me back is the variety of coffee and food offerings. I am a vegetarian and the staff is nice enough to customize almost anything for me. My favorite is their breakfast sandwich minus the meat and cheese, topped with some veggies! Needless, to say the entire Java Creek team is super nice and take good care of their customers. Oh! If you like reading or are at school studying, they have a fireplace at the back that is a great place to read.

chillaxin...coffee or wine- choose your ammo and hang by the fire or in one of the generously sized benches (or the alice in wonderlandish sized dinner table) quiet enough to enjoy the quiet but loud enough for chat that should probably only happen behind closed doors to remain private we just had a bev but i've heard from many sources that they have good soups and sandwiches- (their pastries looked tasty) good tunes on and the service was attractive and friendly- i received more than the regular 6 oz pour- DANKE! (wi-fi available- not sure if its free)
